tourmalinex
The flaws on the back have been fixed and this thing is also for sale , see http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/20178-custom-jeweled-mask/ Edited September 18, 2015 by tourmalinex
Stroxx
At first look this looked kind of strange. Though inspecting it a bit more I really like the rocky texture. It kind of resembles a rock statue one would see in an old shrine. Quote New pages are up! The Hip Historian Iaredios
Glad you took my advice and put this here as well. How did you make this? It's pretty cool! tourmalinex
Well, I sanded down the mask to make it rough, then I a drilled a hole in it for the piece that holds the gemstone, that’s made of silicon that used to make custom molds for baking. I then painted on clear acrylic and placed it in a bag of silicon dust, I have different types silicon dust so I did a layering of them to get the effect I wanted. Mr. Cod
I think you might have applied the dust a little too thick.
Rooster Nui
Honestly, I thought it wasn't good in appearance at first glance. However, I now think it's actually cool. The rough, rocky texture of the mask definitely goes well with the jeweled aspect of the mask at the top. It's not something I'd want to place on any of my Bionicle figures, but I applaud the original idea that came with this.
tourmalinex
It does not photograph well, its like the dust on the mask act like "camouflage" that stops a good picture from being taken. I am waiting on the go head to make garnet, pearl, amethyst, pink quartz , mask and armor set Edited September 20, 2015 by tourmalinex
Onuki
This is cool! Even if the photographs don't do it justice, I can still tell that it's something interesting and original. And it's always nice to see things involving 2001! This reminds us that the characters in Bionicle wouldn't really be made of plastic; they'd be made of more natural things like metal or stone.
