Blackout!

Woah! We just had a blackout. It wouldn't have been so unusual if it had just been one hall in my dorm, but it was the entire campus and most of the town. After a few moments of confusion as to what on earth was going on, one of my roommates and I went out in the hall and found out that there were a few emergency lights out there that had turned on (yay!). For whatever reason unknown to me, I decided to go outside and at that point and realized that the stars looked amazing.   Then I promptly ra

Let's Just Get Out Of Here

To get out of this town and go to the coast or somewhere would be so wonderful right now.   I mean, I'm zoning out to schanuzzy pop music, and even that's not making me feel any better or any more motivated in regards to getting any of these papers or projects completed.   Bleh. As much as I like this school, I sometimes wonder why I ever thought it would be wise to go here in the first place, because even if it all means that I'm going to get a great education, learn loads in regards to paintin

Ha

It really does look like that mauve Christmas tree my mom had in the 90s....   Actually, no! It looks kind of like one of the rooms in the Palace of Versailles!   Oh my goodness, Louis XIV temporarily came back from the dead to re-decorate my sig. It all makes sense now.   Though, I didn't know he was bff with Nocturn. Then again, those French kings were a bit out there sometimes, and I'm sure that at one point or another, Nocturn would have been a valuable ally in some of those wars Louis fough

Woah...

The sudden occurrence of the past while is pretty much making up for never getting my Hogwarts acceptance letter. That owl is quite delayed....but this is like awesome because helping out is awesome, and this almost might be cooler.   And I'm still kind of in shock here (on the plus side, I did eventually stop hyperventilating). Wow. So, thanks to the people who ever really thought I'd ever be decent enough to be even considered for something like this. I'll do my best! And congrats to Spink, Ir

Brickfair Mosaic Project Banners!

Yay, banners! For anyone who wants to promote the BrickFair Mosaic Project via their signature: we're still searching for people who are interested in volunteering to to make a baseplate or two, and the more interest we can get on BZPower via signatures and word of mouth (word of text? Sight of text? However that works, but you get the idea), the better!   You, the community members of BZPower, have the ability to make this project absolutely phenomenal, so how cool is that: a Bionicle mosaic ma

"ḊṘ ẆḢȮ İṠ ______"

I dreamt last night that for whatever reason, my phone number was given to every member on BZP and I was constantly getting flooded with calls that were all "FIX THE SERVER NOW, PLEASE", and while I appreciated these people asking so politely (albeit in a very loud and caps lock'd manner), I was like "uhhhhhh, I think you should be talking to Bink....or Black Six....or someone that is not me...."   Then, while wandering my universities' campus trying to answer all of these calls, I went back to

Newspaper Dress

I totally forgot about this! Woah! This is the newspaper dress that I made for Halloween 2009 that I mentioned ages ago but then forgot to post photos of. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have of it, but it gets the general wackiness across.   And shoes:   The inner lining of the dress is made of a old cut-up shirt and wire held together by safety pins because I don't have a sewing machine and struggle with sewing in a semi-straight line. If I had an ounce of sewing talent and a sewi

Ten Things I Hate About You

I really do not understand that movie. And it was my first time watching it, because my three roommates were all "What?! You HAVEN'T seen this movie??? Ok, now we have to watch it" and I'm like "Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh......k".   Then again, I had the same reaction when I watched Clueless this past December. That entire movie made no sense to me either. I swear, did this extreme lack of these style of 90s and early 2000s movies just make it so when I finally do get around to watching them, I'm just like

Self Portraits!

No. I do not want to date you. I don't want to go on a date out to dinner with you. You are a very nice guy, but regardless of how nice or interesting you may be there's not even a glimpse of a chance that I'll ever date any guy on the track team here. That just doesn't work for me, because I've seen way too many people on this track team date each other and then it all falls apart and it just gets really awkward during practices, meets, etc. And, there's something offsetting when it comes to da

"Ɓrickfair This Year"

I just realized that I can put "BrickFair this year" in a sentence, and it totally means something to me.   BRICKFAIR!!! OH BOY!!!   In other news....   Christmas and winter break were quite nice. And I got U2 tickets for Christmas. U2 TICKETS!!! OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG. However, I'm back at school and classes start tomorrow. Blah. My classes this term are Drawing II, Intermediate Painting II, Art History II, and Argumentative Writing (oh, and track, because we practice so much it kind of counts as a cl

It's A Marvelous Night For A Moondance....

Tonight for New Year's Eve, there's going to be a blue moon. These only come around every two or three years (when there are two full moons in the same month), but blue moons on New Year's Eve are a bit less common, and the last one was in 1990. Coincidentally, 1990 is my year of birth. Pretty cool!   And that was your random fact of the evening.   It's kind of strange though: when we were ringing in the new millennium, I was just a little ten year old kid, excitedly watching the various New Yea

Nasal Strips

Wearing one makes me feel a bit like Galen Rupp.   I kind of want to go running now.   In other news, I've had two 14 hour work days in a row and a couple of 8-12 hour work days prior to that as extra help at Edible Arrangements. Even though the extra money will be awesome (paying off BrickFair!!!), everything hurts and I'm paying the price for it via sore throat and stuffed up nose. Woo hoo!   (and 224 days until BrickFair!!)

This House Is Freezing

Well, except for the downstairs bathroom and it's semi warm here in the kitchen area, but even if this is making it so my parents have a really low heating bill this winter, I think it might actually be warmer outside in comparison to my room upstairs....though, it is really nice to be home at the moment.   Anyways, list time! Because my thoughts are quite jumbled right now.   -Why I've been so busy and semi-inactive in recent weeks. Painting and drawing classes can get so crazy....: This was ju

Finals

Yeahhhhhh finals.   Working on a drawing. Drawing water with charcoal is not fun.   Wooooooooooo.   This is gonna be a lonnnnnnng night. But, my iPod is loaded with music, and if the battery conks out, I've got my laptop and wifi, and there's a midnight breakfast in my dining hall, so I hopefully will get this done as it's due tomorrow.   Should I sleep in the art department? I do have an after-hours pass, so they technically can't kick me out. And there are some very comfy couches around here.

*Ḋives Through Doorway*

I'm still alive!   I swear, I didn't fall off the face of the earth, I just got realllly busy and realllly stressed out, but then Thanksgiving break was like "oh heyyyy" and I got five days of doing absolutely nothing except for eating and hanging out with friends and family, and it was five days that were needed quite badly in my part.   Finals are next week for me. Ack! I have a painting, a huge charcoal drawing, a movie trailer, and my math homework for this week to finish, which will all be

TOMORROW IS NATIONAL HUG A CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER DAY.   SO GO HUG A CROSS COUNTRY RUNNER.   Might have to tell them to stop running for a moment so you can hug them.   BUT SERIOUSLY GO HUG THEM. Despite popular belief, they do not bite. Unless you really make them mad or something.   Oh, and the men's team, along with two of the women from my university's XC team qualified for the national cross country meet, which is happening this Saturday at Ft. Vancouver. Woo hoo! I might carpool with some pe

You And You

Ok, so I left my painting class this evening a half an hour early, as my professor sent me home due to me breaking down into tears of frustration over struggling with getting a solid idea for my painting final, along with a complete feeling of overwhelm from my other classes, finals that are looming ahead of me, track, work, radio show: basically life in general.   Then I came on here and find this and this.   This pretty much made me cry some more (but it was good crying, I swear!) just because

Shoe Bunny

Instead of an entry consisting of me screaming with utter frustration due to my lack of focus for getting my homework and midterms completed, here are two pictures of a bunny in a shoe:       I want to hug it and hide it in a coat pocket so I can take it to class.   (and 268 days until BrickFair!!)

Whisper Words Of Wisdom...

I played Smeag's version of "Let it Be" at the end of my radio show this evening. I hope he doesn't mind. It was quite nice.   Um, yeah. Still stressing. Crazy ridiculous midterm painting due on Tuesday. And math. Eventually there is math due. Do not want.   (and 271 days until BrickFair!!)

" Let's Make The Rose Bowl Into The Milky Way "

Pomegranates Go Boom!

Why pomegranates are amazing:   1. They have pretty colours.   2. They taste awesome and are good for you.   3. If you're not very good at getting the seeds out of it like I am, they kind of explode and the juice goes everywhere and it leaves you and your kitchen looking like you've been in a fight.   (and 284 days until BrickFair!!)
