First off, some of you may remember that back on July 18th, I posted this topic in Q&A, asking about a member map a staff member had added themselves to. Now, the only reason I noticed it was because it was the first notifcation I'd received since October, although I don't know why. If you know, please tell me. That said, the member map has struck again, for tonight I received my second notification since last October when the staff member changed their place on the map or whatever. Needl
I don't think I've ever played Gradius, but I really really want to when looking at this box art. Obviously the game can't hope to have epicness of this magnitude within, but I can dream that it does. Besides, those '80s space shooters are all the best things ever anyway. Even when they rock your socks every single attempt (I'm looking at you, Axelay).
The third box art of the day is none other than the wonderlicious game Portal, with a very simple piece of art used that defines the game perfectly. The lines give it depth, making it seem as if this figure is falling into the portal below, and we have faded Aperture Science hazard warnings in the background. The one question I have about this is about why they made this figure male when the game stars a female, but it doesn't really matter.
You're out doing a paper route, having a great time because it's early evening and just beginning to get dark, the weather is wonderful, and you know you'll be getting rid of the route in two weeks. Then some eleven or twelve year old girl takes one good look at you, decides you're cute, and decides to follow you for 20 minutes, eventually asking you out to some club or something that you've never heard of after living in this town for three years. .__.
The second box art to be given the honor on this blog is none other than Red vs. Blue: The Recollection Boxset, which gives us a nice feel of tone, action and several characters without feeling cluttered. Click the thumbnail to see more. As a side note, I was actually going to put Far Cry 3 up here, but I'm not entirely certain that the box art for that is appropriate for BZPower.
Been feeling like starting some silly daily blog thing for awhile now, and figured I might as well shove video games and movies in too. That said, the very first box art of the day is... Mario Party 9. Although a little over saturated, I really enjoy the Super Mario Galaxy style glow everything has, and I also appreciate how many characters they stuffed into it while keeping the box action packed but not cluttered. Good on you, Nintendo. Now give us a boxart this good for the next Smash Br
I've been asked where "Voltex" came from. What it is, how I came up with it, why do I use it, and so forth. So here's a short blog entry detailing it. I was recently away for a month at a Leader in Training program at a camp I go to. At this camp, each LIT and staff member is given a special "camp name", one that nobody has ever -or will ever- have. It has to do with legacy, and leaving your mark. That said, "Voltex" is mine. I am a storyteller, as should be evident by my rank title. I also
Laptop only on weekends = possible delay on Bionifight 5, but we'll see. I'm gonna do the best I can. For starters, I'm gonna get a promo banner done up! ~ibrow~
With that said, name change has taken place. Explanations later if I feel like it, but rest assured you'll probably be calling me Voltex for a long time. iBrow Voltex. Has a ring to it, eh? -iBrow/Voltex
Just as a note, I'm not actually on right now- this entry has been typed July 28th, 2012 before I left for a month. =P However, that doesn't change the fact that today is my birthday. So I'm now 16, so woop dee doo I suppose. Time to drive and such. However, I thought I'd put a shout out here to a few other awesome people that have today listed as their birthday: Kanohi Volitak - I've never actually seen this member, but the Volitak is easily my favourite Kanohi, so kudos to whoever this is.
Definitely Superman 64. B) I've been playing it like, nonstop the past two weeks. I just can't get enough of it! Whoever designed this is a genius. Who needs Portal? -ibrow(?)
...just in time for me to leave for a month. Wonderful. Anyway, I might be able to update Tahu vs. Tahu tonight, and How to Be a Hero if I'm lucky. Expect Bionifight 5 stuff when I return, however. Priority one when I get home will be to make a banner for this game. -ibrow
First member created event? If so, that's pretty sweet, considering Bionifight 5 has gotta be the most anticipated BZPower text based game of all time. B) Mafia III-3 is also in the works, but that does not have an official release date yet. Thus, it is not on the calendar. -ibrow
I like it a lot, actually. I find the muted colours pleasing to the eyes, while at the same time not distracting from the posts themselves. Having Takua in the blogs is cool, and he kind of goes with the colour theme of the new skin too.
This teaser sheds some more light on what is coming your way with Bionifight 5. Note: Because I'm gone all of August, there likely will not be any teasers that month. However, they will continue when I return up until the release of this glorious fighter. That said, some information on the different gametypes of Bionifight 5: Free For All - Each player is on their own against everyone else in a massive fight to the death. The player with the most health left at the end of the round will be de
This one isn't so much a teaser, though I didn't really know what to categorize it as otherwise. That said, this is perhaps the biggest teaser as, should I get my laptop back before then (I refuse to work on Bionifight 5 on a computer that is 10+ years old and using XP), this will be Bionifight 5's release date: 17.09.2012 Who else is looking forward to it? -ibrow
A Review of The Dark Knight Rises Where should I begin? How do you begin a review of possibly the best super hero film, and possibly one of the greatest films of all time? I shall open with my few complaints about the film, as so very minimal they are. The first being The Bat, Batman’s new vehicle debuting in this film. While it is neat, and it’s cool that Batman can fly around, it just can’t hope to match the brilliance of the Tumbler, nor the versatility of the Batpod. However, the way it
Mini Review #1 Monsters University Teaser First off, let me say this- when I heard that this film was being made, the first thought that popped into my mind was “Do we seriously need another Monsters, Inc. film?”. However, then I thought back to my trip to Disneyworld and the hilarious Monsters, Inc. comedy show they have there, and to the (rather vague, I’ll admit) memories I have of the film itself, and just the fact that this is Pixar we’re talking about. So I decided to give it a chance
Let's continue on! It will be possible to be eliminated from each round. Judging will be re-worked, or possibly removed altogether in certain situations. The PIG will be removed, and the rules will be made clearer. The application sheet may be altered. A new game type will be added that will involve special enemies. Hope you're enjoying it. -ibrow
I am liking it. B) The only problem now is that I won't actually know what any rank titles I might get are, but that is extremely minimal. It's nice to have something setting me apart. -ibrow
