Percolation

One more week. One more week of these boring, miserable holidays and I'm going back to school and getting on with a life.   But, it's rare that one can wake up late in the morning, not worrying about being late, and enjoying some lukewarm Chinese tea while reading up and working on reviews.   It's all for a good mood - rare to come by once poly kick-starts.   It's good time to percolate on what one did the previous week, and to see if there's anything more to do for the current week.   But

Music Theory

Music Theory is a chore It's way much worse than a bore To read each note in the score Like staring at ants on the wall (and you can't squish 'em) ~   Don't ask. Ask my lecturer who was smart enough to load us all with music theory exercises. With the current assignments that are bearing us down, this one is the heaviest and most urgent for now.   But... but... music theory! Egads, you don't know how painful it is until you sit down for one hour straight just to work on it - and only be an

Blank Mind

School's a pain. A seriously bad pain. The assignments are piling up, my final year project is due in 3 weeks and I still have nothing. My inspiration has dried, and I feel the loom of a comatose ready to swell over.   BUT - life isn't all that bad. I've finally taken an order in my non-existent order by using the 'Getting Things Done' system - and it's been working wonders. I'm actually getting things done!     I also had fun during the holidays I had. I went on a 3-day outing with my boyfri

No More Videos

In an accident while deleting obsolete programmes, I deleted Adobe Flash Player from my laptop.   Wise move, I can't watch online videos unless I download them and I do not need to lose space on this laptop. I may need a larger hard disk for this laptop.     But, it was a blessing in disguise.   While everyone else in class was browsing the video sites and watching young music talent surpassing their own talent, I found myself unable to do that.   Instead, during that break, I took up a note

Picture Speak

Pictures speak a thousand words. I found a particular picture that carried two.   A good hint: This was found in the hospital.             The answer?   Fall precaution.

Golden Ring No. 33

Janus said it was some golden, or silver, bloggy, right?   It's very painful to say this, but after watching all my favourite blogs snatch up 'Blog of the Week' awards, I realised that probably Janus was probing my mind to see which favourite on my list would run away with the award.   Never expected it to be me, though.   Thanks to the other-blue-and-white-loving Janus for the award - (and the recognition that came with it! Naw.) - and giving me a heart attack after another tiring day at sc

Never Eye To Eye

I'm terribly moody in this recent period of time. Been thinking about a recent event that happened in the household of Kevin's that is related to my own.   His grandmother is in her last stages of lung cancer, like my own, but... her family isn't doing much good about it.   While my grandmother underwent treated care, his grandmother opted for pallative care. That's all right by me -   But when I heard that the family had dragged her out of her bedroom and made her stay in the unventilated l

Estranged Stranger

I'm going nuts. BZP's bugs aren't helping.   Today, I sat down and thought for a bit while eating lunch. Good friend was doing assignments in the studio, so I was alone for the while.   And it was a good time to mentally prepare myself for a long while's worth of havoc.   A rather major assignment is due at the end of this week, one is going to be presented this week, one really really big one is due in three weeks and it's still in the works...     Do I really have any other life than an a

Gone With The Wind

In total shock, my eyes grew at the sight before me.   My mother had a better reaction, though: She stepped out of the car and went to check it out.     I'm talking about my old home, the two-storeyed fortress that is probably half-shattered in rubble by now.   When we stopped the car outside the building, it was easy to see that some damage had been carried out before the diggers arrived. The garden was unrecognisable, littered with shattered glass and pieces of plaster and debris. The windo

Scholastic Issues

This is more of a mental note to myself than anything else, and more so as a self-note to stop wallowing in worry.   1) I got a call yesterday, and it came from the polytechnic. I qualified for the second diploma, and now have the choice of accepting the diploma or rejecting it.   I've been ordered to accept it, and I'm interested in it. In short, I'm going to accept it. If all goes well and I balance my time properly, I may just graduate with two diplomas in my bag.   Only if I properly hand

Sub-leader Burn

So that was why they made me person-in-charge of Publicity's stunt in Co-Curricular Activity Week.   To make me suffer for the brunt of problems coming from the higher-ups.   A day away from the deadline, and everything went haywire and crosswire.     The previous day, I met up with the other member whom I assigned Poster duty, and we both hand-drew three posters and took up the whole day doing so, in the process nicking my wrist with a blade that was unlawfully placed in the open, having a b

Soccer Balls Aren't Safe

This morning, I watched the soccer battle between England and Israel. I rarely sit down to watch soccer, but this game amused me.   Why?   P. Neville (which P, I can't remember) received a face-straight collision from the soccer ball, and was sent reeling.   Then, later on in the game, two players (can't remember who) chased after the soccer ball, only to find themselves colliding into each other and the ball bounding away, unharmed.   The mischeif (or was it mischief?) caused by the ball di

To Behead The Pack Leader, To Kill A Mocking Bird.

Imagine a mocking bird in the snowy woods mocking at a wolf that led a dying pack, and the wolf heeds it and drives itself without rest till it collapses.     I just realised that this situation could very-well happen in my newly-formed group.   We have a really fun assignment lined up for us - we're going to make our own MTV. An original song from our previous assignment will be used as the MTV's main idea, and then the video is slapped on top of it. Duh.   Our group was planned as it was, w

Yippee!

My polytechnic form tutor just rang me up today, and he just made my day.   He informed me that he was ringing up students with a GPA of 3 and above for something special they were entitled to for their good grades.   There was a specialist diploma open for me to take, 2 years covered with 1K (which is VERY reasonable) and it would mean that I would graduate with two diplomas instead of one. The specialist diploma that's open to me is Creative Media Design. Maybe it'll teach me how to use Pho

I Am Confuzzled.

It's been two short nights - really short nights. I had been sleeping at 2, past 2 sometimes, to rush out the first phase of my final-year-project.   I feel a nice, large headache coming my way, and it'll hit me hard the minute I submit this assignment. Even now, I feel groggy...     Who's Janice?   -<dd>

The Return Of The Roach

If any would recall this entry, I had a nasty encounter with an insect at the outer reaches of my room, where the last I saw of the culprit was its feet going over the staircase directly to the first floor.   9:30pm, after a boring Christmas dinner at a parent's friend's home, and I had just put down my bag - and noticed something brown scuttle on the edge on my bed and disappear behind the blankets.   There was only one thing that was brown, scuttled and preferred hiding places.   I had to

Lord Suvourlorde

Lord Survourlourde still hates me.   This is my sixth attempt, I think, to post up a blog post. And as you may've seen, I double-posted on the last round.   The server renewal is a good thing - but it is not a good thing for my account.   That, and I can't send PMs out.   Nasty, this. Nasty.   -<dd>

Mwahahahahaha

The evil laugh.   For I have nothing better to analyze.   Some people can do it. Some people can't. Some people love to do it. Some people get annoyed by it.   It's utilized in the world of fandoms and fiction commonly. I've yet to see Bionicle characters (in the books) do it.   I've seen it being done in fanfiction a lot, though. A really rotten villain would be brought down for his evil laugh - and choking/coughing halfway in its execution.   I beg all writers who read this not to do that

Now With Some Booty

Warning: Bragging up ahead   Ye've been warned.       Today's a good day.   Today, I got richer.     My grandmother shoved me the job of packing all my Bionicle sets up in preparations of the Big Move to a temporary home while my current house gets a total overhaul.   While looking for stray pieces (and I found myself in an MOCist's dreamland) in the set boxes, I shook my Boggorak case.   There was a familiar rattle.   Unscrewing the cap off, I discovered a horde (mind the pun) of coins a

To Describe A Rose For An Infinity...

... would be one of the most cruel jokes to play.   Description - one of the most important tools to the writer, and one of the toughest to wield. This is where your style is defined, whether you sit with simple writing, or immerse yourself with steepled, yet brief poems.   I realised that, while writing the next chapters to my fictions, that description was starting to elude me. It was nastily playing tricks with me.   So I stepped back and contemplated.     It's easy to use description whe

Berklee!

Who needs to say anymore? BERKLEE! BOSTON! MASSACHUSETTS!     Currently doing up the sums and conversions for how much I've to pay for Berklee! I had seriously no idea that I'd get in. I thought I flunked the auditions very badly. XD   Oh, and what am I doing now, musically-wise? I'm trying to rush out a project with Imogen Heap's vocals in her Twestival participation. She released vocals she never used before, and now I've got her in a daydream land (hahaha!), swimming in clouds and all th

Thar Be A Maraudin'

GAAH!   Just when I thought I could ask Omi a little earlier about pirate cosplay advice, my players landed the bomb on me: We were definitely going out in garb - tomorrow.   The Pirates of the Carribean Medley is going out in full force. Today was the sound practice and everyone got a nice shock to hear the Port Royale theme filtering through the speakers. There were cheers and hoots.   So, to keep things up, we decided to cosplay.   The closest character I resembled was Will Turner. Howeve

Life As It Is

I haven't been able to go online as frequently as I'd like to - I do miss coming here daily.   But, I felt my conscience drift to another matter, of greater importance and worry for me.   My grandmother, a patient of lung (and brain) cancer, has lapsed into her final days. I can feel the gloom hanging above her literally - she's silent, and hasn't taken a sip of water or a piece of food for... a while.   I feel a rant coming on, but it won't help my grandmother get any better.   We thought
