So, Update on Story Stuff?

The most ironic thing about the shutdown? I was one chapter shy of finishing my repost of my epic Kulagi's Kanoka. Now, after a second data loss, I have to repost it AGAIN. I'm not angry or anything (nobody was reviewing it anyway) but I find the irony amusing.   So I'm going to try and repost it. (And get my post count up some more... gee, I lost all of like 30 posts! That's a lot for me!) No, seriously, I'm reposting it! Maybe try to do it faster than last time. Maybe not. I've also co

Well Um That's Disheartening

I totally had my bet that the site wouldn't be up until sometime after the new year. Guess I'm not getting in on that jackpot.   (Also, I had just about finished reposting my story that got lost in the archives... well, guess I need to start that up again.)   I can't think of anything else that I posted back then that was worth anything, so I guess I'll just have to come up with new worthless things to write about. (But gosh I do luv my blog!)

Away

My cousin's wedding is this weekend, so I'm leaving to go to an island with sketchy-at-best wifi. That means that I probably won't be uber active, not that I am anyway. Normally, after posting an entry on a contraversail topic, I would stay around to keep an eye on it, but alas I won't be able to do that very well. So yeah.   Also gonna meet Swert in Tacoma and Razlak/Mylo   Please keep things civil, 'kay?

My Thoughts on Arguing

So I guess there’s another blog war going on. Oh boy. But a few bits of it have annoyed me, and despite myself, I’m going to add in my words. (And to be fair, I've only read a few entries on this issue, and I’m not going to pretend to be some sort of expert or anything. Please hear me out before replying.)   So, to get to the bone of it, there’s a discussion over LGTBQA+ rights. I should say something along the lines of “I’m a neutral party” but I’m just going to come out and say it. I am

BrickCon Mosaic

Eh, trying to organize this with other's input hasn't worked out yet, so I'm just pushing this forward solo:   Potential BrickCon BZPower Bionicle Mosaic     Pieces   [01] [02] [03] [04] [05] [06] [07] [08] [09] [10] [11] [12]   Claimed:   Piece 1: Xccj Piece 2: Chocolate Frogs Piece 3: Kakaru Piece 4: Brickthing Piece 5: Swert (Maybe?) Tally The Votes

Monster / Titan Contest   My entries   MOC: 0 votes. Pretty standard.   Story: 4 votes. Dunno what people were thinking, but it apparently ties me in second...?   Art: 4 votes. Again. Technically it's 4th place? But there were clearly some better things there, and they got their votes deservingly.   Games: 7 votes? WHA? At the very least, this means that I should actually try and make that game. Totes wasn't expecting that.   Again, all in all, there were some epic entries in all the cat

About The Monster Contest

I mean, man, it's incredible how the entries have turned out. The MOCs seem to be rather high quality, with a few exceptions (AKA my entry) so that it's kind of hard to pick the best of em. I mean, usually BBC contests aren't this evenly matched, right? That, and most of the art entries are awesome... that was my best entry into this contest, and mine's being blown out of the water by some of the other ones. The game ideas are fun, but I am really impressed at the music (and video) submissio

NANO Completed

I just completed my NANO Story from 2010.   So back in 2010, I participated in the National November Writing Month thingy whatever. The one where you write 50,000 words in 30 days. Huge time consumer, and didn't help that I was in over my head as far as school was concerned. But by the end of the month, I was just over the word count mark. But the problem was that my story was only partially over; I had set it up for the big climaxe, but didn't continue it.   And then the story got put on ho

It's a Monster of an Entry List

For example, you should be afraid of The Frog-Baboon-Wolf Monster That Wants to Eat You.   Don't believe me? Then this alliterative account of its attack on Lego City should strike the fear into your heart.   You know what else would probably stop your heart (as well as most of the other working parts of your body): Driving a Monster Truck on Titan. Unless you're a Toa, then it's cool.   You know where you can also find Toa? In my game idea!   You know what's another cool thing to listen to besi

It's Just Four Letters

For the record, the xkcd comic were first posted in 2005, although granted Randall Munroe might have come up with the name before that.   I registered as xccj on this site in 2003, and I'd been using the same name on Lego.com since the late 90s.   I did not steal Randall Munroe's four letter name; he stole mine.   It's also not really an acronym but I did a whole contest about that back in the day so it actually stands for Xtra Carbon Copy Justice. You can thank Toaraga for that... and those of

A Monster on Titan

LOOK I POSTED A TOPIC IN GENERAL ART!!   It's the Toa Mata driving a Monster Truck on the Moon Titan.   Because this totally fits with the current theme.   Some of you might counter this, cause there isnt any apparent conflict between the Monster (truck) or Titan (the moon) BUT THERE IS. And I will break down the categories.   ATMOSPHERE: Titans atmosphere is primarily made up of methane and ethane gases, which are totally not breathable to humans. Since the Monster truck has an opened cab, the

Rejected (Maybe) Distillery and Pub

Cause my team would rather have blood sacrifices than parties with lightshows. I think. I dunno, it's not like we communicate or anything.   That one image totally isn't someone drinking; it's somebody tazing themselves in the mouth. Who it is is still up in the air.

Chima Fig Swap?

So I guess the latest round of Chima system sets is out. There are a lot of cool fig characters that I'm interested in, and some that I'm not so much. I'm assuming other people are interested in collecting Chima figs, and I know myself I'm uninterested in the BrickLink prices they fetch for. I'm considering buying one of the larger sets (like that one wolf car / moving fortress one) which has some cool figs and some that I'd be willing to part with.   So is there anybody here who'd be willing

Wolverine

I saw the movie this weekend, and I really enjoyed it.   To start this out, let me say that I’m a big X-Men fan. Well, as far as the television series are concerned, since I’m not quite as into comic books. But the previous movies have been… okay at best. Not super impressed with them compared to the Avengers and such.   But honestly, I don’t like Wolverine. In general, his character is just too gruff or whatever; he’s always angry and violent and doesn’t seem like the most likeable protagon

Why I Like Being a Lifetime Premier

Back when I first bought premier membership, 6 months was like $6, 1 year was $10, and lifetime was $25.   So if it lasted for more than 4 six month periods (2 years) or the equivalent of 2.5 years, then lifetime membership would pay for itself. (Assuming that BZP's life was greater than said 2.5 years.)   I've had it for 10 years. Yeah, it's paid for itself.   And that was before price increases!   Also, I clearly have very little of what some call "a life."   Anyway, probably won't blog to

Lego Animorphs?

Hah, talk about a Cuusoo idea guaranteed to fail. (Like, seriously, how would you even start. Buildable animals and figs and aliens and spaceships would be cool, but there's no good way to incorporate morphing into a toy. They did transformers Animorph toys back in the 90s, and while they worked, they looked pretty bad.)   But I digress.   I'm talking more about Animorph characters digitized in Lego form. I've had the figs designed in LDD for a while, but I decided to try and pursue some dra

BrickCon Colab?

I know BrickCon has done some pretty cool collaborations in the past, but the closest the Bionicle gang has come is to build a mosaic. But here's an idea I have, so feel free to critique it, add your own ideas, suggest improvements, ext.   So I built this tower out of Bionicle limb pieces and reinforced with Hero Factory limbs and liftarms. It's 3-4 feet tall, and relatively sturdy, but bend a few joints wrong and it'll bend over. It's nothing super awesome to look at, but it's tall for somet

Find the Masks Game: Feedback

Please leave feedback about the game here. Thanks.     Bionicle: Find the Masks Game   CLICK HERE TO PLAY THE GAME!   *** *** GAMEPLAY   The premise of the game is pretty simple. Each of the Toa need to locate five other Kanohi masks of power in order to defeat Makuta. You can visit each region and help locate the five masks. Once youve found all five masks for a Toa, they will receive their golden Kanohi. And when youve found the masks for all the Toa, youll win the game!   All the masks are

If You Really Want To Mess With Me

You could go to this poll and vote for my Penguin in the BBC Contest. Cause then I'd be forced to somehow find a way to ship it, and it's kinda big and bulky and heavy, which all adds to the cost.   Or you could vote for Terror Bird, which is my favorite in the poll. (But I wanted to give myself one vote so I did cause that's just how I roll.)

Lame Archive

For a reference, I wanted to go back and look at one of my older Bionicle stories, one that had actually gotten a decent response on BZPower back in the day. But for the life of me, I couldn't find it saved on my computer. (But having looked up the date, I realize that it was probably written in the brief period where I owned my own laptop... which was stolen after six months, along with a whole bunch of my work that I had neglected to save elsewhere. Well, that's one mystery solved.)   But anyw

Everybody Loves Penguins

If you say you don't, then you're lying, both to us and to yourself.   I love penguins so much, that I made a MOC of one and entered it into the latest BBC Contest.     Yeah!   MOC Topics Here. Or you can comment on it in this blog, in case you're too embarassed to be associated with my work in the BBC Forum. (THEY MIGHT JUDGE YOU)   So comments and stuff appreciated. And if you really want to mess with me, vote for it in the contest so that I'll have to actually send this bulky thing to Virgi

Game UpDate

Ha, if you thought this was about some video game I was playing, YOU'RE WRONG! This is about the game I'M MAKING!   So, a few blog posts back (wait, only three posts ago? Man, I need to update this more) I asked for artists who'd want to help me make this Flash game. No one responded. But that's okay, cause I DON'T NEED Y'ALL and I made the artwork myself. And then I added animation and code and clicky stuff and things. It's a game!!   Okay, it's not 100% completed. If I'd give it a perc

Palm Pilot

So, way back in the day, there were these devices called Palm Pilots or something. They could include calendars and notepads and other stuff on them. Basically, I always saw them as hand held computers, although clearly they were limited compared to desktops. This was like in the early 2000s. I know a couple of my classmates had some.   And back in 2003 or 2004 (I forget when) I wrote this adventure story that I'm sure I've mentioned here before. It was about four friends getting trapped in
