Another Takumacraft Entry

Alright, plans are moving right along. Earliest the reset could happen is Friday, but not likely (especially with the Steam Summer Sale coming up :P).

With this new world we're gonna have a "town hall". Since this building is essentially going to be the face of the new "Evil Craft Masters" server, it needs to be something wicked cool. Any ideas? Only thing that comes to my mind right now is an enormous floating Nuva Cube.

Anyways, some notes about what the new world will be like:

1. An area will be set aside where we'll have games 'n' such. There'll be two spleef arenas (lethal and non-lethal) and whatever else gets put in. If possible, we can even insert custom challange maps you guys point out to us (depending on the map). Building our own is also an option. For these attractions, we'd most likely grant creative mode (unless you really want to build it "legit").

2. There will be an area set aside for making art. Still working out the fine details, but essentially you'll have a way to get all the blocks you need "for free". Then we'll just have any extras automatically removed so that nobody is tempted to try and cheat themselves some loot.

3. The town hall will have a hub set up for teleporting to various areas (games/player homes/whatever). In the case of player bases, the owning player will get to decide how it is implemented as far as location and etc.

4. The Ender Ender will get ported over, albeit after the Ender Dragon gets defeated (which we will, like last time, make a formal event out of).

5. Industrial/Town hall will be the only place for grindy-type farms/machines (with the obvious exception of the Ender Ender). People can still keep their own "hobby farms" and whatnot though.

6. Themed towns. We'll go ahead with this but it'll have to be something the community works together to build. Teleporting to/from would be supported. (Note that these do not cancel out regular player homes. They can live in a town if they want, but otherwise they're meant for fun visits and such.)

7. There are pros and cons to both sides of the argument, but we're gonna stick with regular-sized biomes.

8. An in-game shop/economy that would make it possible to buy rare items (e.g. saddles and name-tags) is a great idea, but would be difficult to implement without mods. If anyone has brilliant ideas on how such a thing could work, great. It isn't going to be high on the priority list starting out though.

9. Scoreboard. It would be fun to keep track of things like Spleef wins and general deaths and such for fun. If anyone has suggestions for what they'd like to see, let me know.

10. Since there is currently no need to have "teams" in regular survival mode, I'd like to use it simply for name-color functionality. We could give colored names to, say, the most recent BZPCraft winner, the one with the most BZPC wins, etc. Suggestions?

That's all for now.

With the two BZP minecraft servers I feel like I'm missing so much. You guys need to tell me when you start this server so I can maybe join. Anyways, I'd recommend a stable for the horses we'll call ponyville, that's all I got.

Is there going to be a place showcasing all the winners of each BZP round (I think that was on your server)?

For the town hall, how about the Codrex? Granted, given it's a sphere, building it may be easier said than done, but I feel that the interior lends itself to being a town hall.

For the shops, hoppers, chests, and droppers could work, but you'd have to go by the honor system. Unless you bury everything into bedrock... I think I could make something work.

As long as we're going for themed towns anyways...

So is Takumacraft open for new people to join?

The server is still -- and always will be -- white-listed and invite-only. That said, I'm always looking for friendly, trust-worthy, good-sported people to invite on. Participating in BZPcrafts will go a long way in proving such.

Sounds like MI might either build a new one or just port the old one over.

A giant metal sphere just sounds too boring to me. xP

Yeah, I see your point.

Hm.. There's the Coliseum, obviously. Mangaia, maybe? Unless you do like the idea of an enormous floating Nuva Cube. I wouldn't object to it. =P

I just did a bunch of redstone stuff to try a shop. It worked, but the max cost anything can be is 1 item. I'm not good enough to know how to raise that, but there's that.

Also, speaking of whitelists, am I still on it? Last time I checked I was, but someone might've just forgotten to take me off from BZPc. :P

Shops are possible to be made cheat-proof by using /give, /clearinventory, /scoreboard, and comparators. I'll send you a video over Steam.

We should have scoreboard player deaths listed in the Tab menu.

As for the Town Hall, all that comes to mind is a space station. Access would be granted by having a pressure plate under it that gives you a second of Jump Boost 20, and also a second of Resistance 5 in case you miss.

Last winner of a BZPC gets a red name. Player with most BZPCs won gets a dark blue name. If the player is both, you get a grey name. Whoever has won the most minigames(BZPC, spleef, pvp, pig racing, etc) overall gets an aqua name.

I actually had the exact same town hall idea and same entry means about an hour ago. Scary.

I want the red name for ME. :P

And thanks for the video. I'd like to use emeralds instead if at all possible. I mean, that's basically why they were put in the game, more-or-less.

for making art. Still working out the fine details,

I see what you did there

Also, would it be possible to (with massive amounts of time and effort) recreate the slumbering Mata Nui robot on a smaller scale and use that as a hub? If we're going for Bioncle-based ideas...

If you want to use emeralds(or any other item even), you can just MCEdit in an invincible villager with custom trades. See SethBling's CreateShops filter.

Bionicle isn't a necessity. It was just the first thing that came to mind. While a Mata Nui robot would be cool, I'd rather the town hall was something that could be completed quicker...

Really? And there's no mods needed, just MCEdit? You, sir, have me intrigued...

Maybe it's an awful idea that sucks away space, but what if we MCedited the BZPc maps somewhere in the server, left as they were when the game ended. There could be markings where people died as well.

Pretty cool idea, but I'd be surprised if everyone knew where they died for every BZPc. Maybe we could set past arenas aside in a separate arena "world" and use them for recreational pvping?

Also @Takuma: We wouldn't necessarily need to build the whole thing at once, we could just add sections to it as needed. Admittedly it would still be a pretty time-consuming project, but MAN that would be cool.
