Motivation

Black Six

I've been lacking motivation lately, the ever-growing pile of work (including BrickFest coverage) is quite disheartening. It makes me want to procrastinate even more. It's not a good cycle to be caught in.

To quote Freddie, "I want to break free!"

So yeah, if someone asks you some day if you want to be an Admin at a large website, say no (unless it'll be a full time paid job). :P

I did admin stuff at my old forum for awhile before it went inactive. I could not even imagine the workload placed upon you sir.

Stay motivated though! We are very greatful for what you do here! When I lose motivation, I buy a new set and that helps. Of course I am a builder so getting you motivated might take something different.

Anything I can do to help?

Seriously, let me know if there is.

This one.

These ones.

Kohaku

These on--never mind. :P

I'm experiencing the same thing right now, only probably on a smaller scale... my advice would be to take it one thing at a time.

I offer a fourth concurrence. I'm very busy right now with schoolwork--but if there's still stuff to do come next week, and I can help write anything up, drop me a line. If you trust me. :P

Look at some hilarious "motivational" posters, then find a special LOLmachine to harness the laughter and turn it into energy. :P

Oh sure, NOW you tell me.

Of course, you could always let

running your site for a week? -Swert

These ones never had a choice. That goes for Shiny, too.

For the BrickFest coverage, you could just leave it up to Omi and Nukaya, since Omi has the stories and Nukaya has some photos (and you could send yours to her, too, just to make sure it's a full portfolio).

Just an idea.

Besides, aren't leaders supposed to delegate? :P

That's everyone for the support. If there is something you can do, believe me, I'll let you know.

I thought that too once. But sometimes it's even more work to delegate and to make sure the work is done than it is to just do it yourself. Plus there's plenty of admin-y stuff I can't delegate.

So to put this in BIONICLE terms...

"They say that Toa are very wise and always have good advice to give, so here is some, if someone walks up to you, hands you a Toa Stone, and tells you the city is depending on you... don't walk. Run."

I'm lacking motivation with my schoolwork... I try to do it and push everything back to after I do my assignments, that doesn't work because I spend more time procrastinating over my school work and get nothing done at all. Like right now for instance...

Helping with BZP.

Wanna switch places? :P

Anyway, here are some helpful hints:

1. Drink lots of coffee

2. Smack your self upside of the head with a frying pan every morning (and if you get off track too).

3. Getting distracted by something? Lock it in a safe and swallow the key. Always works.

Helps me every day B)

If I may offer some advice, I often find that once one finally stops procrastinating and gets around to tackling these things head-on, it becomes rather easy. For instance, I recently found an essay to be rather daunting and I had no idea what to write, but once I got into working on it, the entire thing just came out with considerable ease. Granted, my example isn't exactly dealing with mountains of work on a massive forum board or anything, but I'd guess the same basic principle applies.

Just take the forums offline for a week. Then you'll have free time. :P

Not to mention the angry uprising from all the members. =P
