I mean like in real life. (LOL, ok that's IRL too, but...anyway)

Like passing someone in the hall or on campus.

It means nothing.

I guess it means "I care about you and want to make sure you're ok." But really, nobody is going to break out in a long list of why their day is bad. Even when I'm down I say "alright."

I feel the same way. To the point that if someone asks, I'll reply with "Hey."
