I was (counts on fingers) 4 when that happened, my sister wasn't even a year old. But I've learned everything about it since then. Wasn't able to change my avatar or anything, though, because I was away from BZP almost all day, and by the time I saw the announcement it was the 12th.

I was at the Metrorail station under the Pentagon.

Everyone was running around and screaming "GET OUT OF THE BUILDING IT'S BEEN BOMBED" because they didn't know what hit them.

Then the subway came and we got on immediately, told everyone to stay on the subway and used the emergency phone to tell the operator to get the heck out of there.

We would have evacuated normally had someone not stepped on my mom's sandal strap.
