Apple carvings: Mata & Voya nui

Hello BZPower!Since i have been out of inspiration lately, i decided to keep myself busy by... well, by carving apples.

Mata Nui:

[The 1st Shadow]

Those are pretty cool! The Mata Nui one looks a little thick towards the bottom, but it still turned out well. Nice job!

Voya Nui looks great, as does the Northern half of Mata-Nui. The South half, as 1st Shadow said is a little wide, and perhaps the tip is a little far east as well. Interesting choice of artistic medium though, particularly for Bionicle.

The Mata-Nui one is a bit too thick but the top is nicely done. The Voya-Nui one is really good especially the 2 points at the top. I like the volcano spot in the middle too. Great job on both of these!

... that's an awesme and unique medium you used there, Dwanny. Looks really great, too!But yeah, as the others pointed out already, Voya Nui appears to be more accurate. Both looks cool, though, and the sole idea of it... respect, i'd never have thought of anything like that. I hope you'll overcome that art block, soon... :3

The voya-nui one was really awesome. It looks awesome.However, the mata-nui one is very meh. I couldn't tell if it were mata-nui if you didn't state that it was mata-nui.Nice medium though. Very original.

Well done! Mata Nui lacks a lot of the little inlets and such that really made it recognizable for me, but that's just the medium.

This is the most imaginative artistic medium I've seen on these forums in a long time. You did a very good job carving the likeness of Voya Nui. Mata Nui is also nice, but a little bit misshapen so that it loses its face-shaped west coast.On a side note, when I entered this topic I was expecting the inverse of what you created-- that is to say, I expected the negative space where you carved away part of the peel to be what formed the shape of the islands, rather than the positive space where you left parts of the peel. I'll admit the former would probably be infuriating when you reached those tiny capes and peninsulas, not to mention bays and rivers, but I think the overall look would be more impressive. But maybe that's just me.
