OOC: Sorry, today was kind of crazy. Backish now.IC: {Jonis/\Humans/\Somewhere}Jonis acknoledged the orders and started looking around for pebbles large enough to replace his arrowheads. Shooting those instead shouldn't do enough harm to kill anyone. He gaithered some up and put them in the pouch behind his neck. He then got behind Brandonson and waited for things to start.OOC: I think thats good but if something is off let me know so I can edit.

IC[Jason Hanlon - Arhtok] The Sergeant shuffled into the point position in front of Brandonson, and stuck his helmeted head up. Taking two quick surveys of the alley he raised his left hand and signaled to advance. He bolted, keeping his torso low, across the alley to the fence, slinging his crossbow over his shoulder. He scaled the thirty foot fence in about as many seconds, and was on the roof shortly after. The overhang of the apartment building he stood on prevented him from looking down on his squad, but if they had moved as quickly as he had, they should be just ahead of him.

-==IC: Orion==- Orion nodded, as he planted the charge, and crept into the shadows, in an attempt to ambush anyone who attempted to disarm the charges before they were set, as he waited for further instructions. -==IC: Martin==- Martin frowned, as he headed toward the Council Room, hoping that the Council might just see logic.

IC: The metal giant's eyes dimmed, and it crouched low to the ground outside the building where the council room was. Its glowing eyes dimmed, and a hatch on the back opened, revealing a yawning Roshad, who swung down onto the ground. He landed in a crouch, then walked over to Boru. "Should we go inside?" The much taller gravity mage looked down at his friend, whose questioning eyes looked up at him. Boru stroked his beard for a second, then nodded, blonde hair swinging around his face. "Let's go." He looked over at Cairye, who was cleaning his blade, and motioned with his eyes toward the door. The metal warlock nodded, and stood up, strapping his now-sheathed blade onto his back, the metal 'stones' settling into a loose alignment on his wrists, the chain dissolving itself into more of them. He through back his hood, revealing silver hair soaked with sweat from the fight, piercing grey eyes, and a long scar down his right cheek. He nodded silently, and followed his two companions into the council room. IC: Ronare was an expert climber, and in superb physical condition-living in the forest tended to do that to you. He sprinted after Hanlon, overtaking him just before they reached the wall. The hunter scaled it in 24 seconds, before pulling himself onto the roof. He pulled his crossbow back out, and looked back over their shoulders for any hostiles before scanning in front of him. As the sergeant pulled himself up a few seconds later, Ronare motioned in front of them. "Where to next?" he asked quietly. "I'm not seeing anyone yet."

Well, would you just look at that?

I'm actually trying to be nice and help a little, since you're new here and all.And alright man, but Ronare has been climbing giant trees since he was little, and he's lived in the wild all his life. He's got to be a great climber and in great shape. I do realize that Hanlon has much better training than he does, however, so I imagine that they're pretty close to equal in most things.IC: Ronare hung a little ways behind the others, crossbow ready as he scanned the buildings for targets. He saw Hanlon climb the wall, and arched his eyebrows.Pretty good, for a city-dweller, though the hunter. He quickly focused back on the task at hand, his eyes darting from building to building, window to window, door to door. Whatever came at them, he'd be ready.

OOC: Alex, this is a nice reboot to the Outbreak series. Breaks the story and changes it quite nicely. I'll give it a go. Username~ IamJackssplitpersonality (Zarwin) Character Name~Marek Karem Age~ 18 Specialization~Sound. He can see soundwaves and manipulate them as he wishes. The more localized the sound, the more influence he can exert on it. I.E. in a cave situation, Marek is your best friend, in an open desert, he's less than helpful. The exception to this is if there's lots of noise in an open area, as he has more sound to manipulate, so it balances out. He can throw noise much like a ventriloquist, to make it sound as if it's coming from wherever he wishes, and , if there is sufficient sound, such as in the cave scenario or in a fight, he can use the soundwaves as a physical force, pushing people and throwing them to the ground. The amount of sound needed for this is significant, though. His power provides excellent support in battle though, as he can throw off enemies with sounds in their inner ear, throwing off balance or even stunning on occasion. Appearance~A tall, slightly pudgy teen with dark brown short cropped hair. Ability/Trait~He can snap quickly and clap loudly. Also an excellent hunter, due to his ability to disorient any animal with simple soundwave manipulation. Bio~Marek has always been the atypical warlock. Born in Mox, he didn't realize what his specialization was or how he could manipulate it for quite a long time, though in the back of his mind he suspected it was sound. Marek is deaf and mute, and as such, had to develop a way to utilize his power without speaking or hearing. He has learned to "read" the sound, allowing him to understand when others speak to him and allowing him to speak back, in a sort of disembodied voice.

I want you to hit me as hard as you can.

Something on your mind, Dear?

Hey, you created me. I didn't create some loser alter-ego to make myself feel better. Take some responsibility!

OOC: JC, calm down, man. There's no reason for paranoia here. IC: [Felix] Felix dashed forward into the next covered position, doing everything he could to keep quiet. IC: [isaac] Isaac follwed the others cautiously; despite his reservations about their mission, he had no wish to bring harm upon his fellow soldiers.

OOCI consider it more a spiritual successor than a reboot personally Zar, but good to see you're interested. As for your peep, he's good; approved. Ball=rolling. Still weeding out the typos though. IC [Arhtok, Night] The warlocks who had been drawn by the spring now were assembled in the makeshift Council Chambers, with only a part of the council gathered. The bulk of the council sat in the back, on raised seats, while seven of the Elders and the Eldest sat in a semi-circle around the warlocks, giving it much a feel of a trial. William whispered a soft prayer, then stepped forward, respectfully bowing his head then raising it to look at the Eldest. “Eldest of the Council; it is an honor that we can finally meet in person.” The man smiled, not at all put off by the stars of the Council. “May I ask why the full Council is not present?” “In these harsh times, deaths have happened and many old friends have retired; we have not yet had time to replace our fallen comrades.” The Eldest rose, holding a long staff to brace himself with. “Nonetheless, an historic occasion has been made; the Books of Prophecy have been opened, and the Prophecies have been read. It took much of the night to do so, but the entire Council is now aware of what must be done. We observed your gathering at the spring; it was said to be one of the signs of those who would lead us out of this dark time.” “I... see.” William raised an eyebrow. “So what do you wish of us?” “You will be the light that leads us from this dark path; the Books of Prophecy make it clear that your first task is to find a holy relic that the humans stole long ago, currently hidden away in one of their priest’s citadels, the Citadel of the Sea.” “What is this relic, if I might ask?” “An ancient weapon, forged when the Makers made the world. Perhaps the Makers themselves forged it; either way, it is immensely powerful, and according to the Prophecies, it is important for the liberation of our people.” The Eldest nodded to another Elder, who handed a scroll to William. “The Sword of Epac. It can cut through any material, summon the ocean itself to fight, and strike fear into any mortal heart. Whoever wields it is unstoppable; but it only answers to the correct warlock. According to the Prophecies, one of those warlocks is one of you.” “A fascinating legend, yes. But according to the legend, it’s last holder was the first human king, a man with no magic in his blood. Did the Prophecies specify that it would answer next to a warlock?” “Of course; how could a human hope to harness such power?” The Eldest laughed slightly. “After all, the legend of the sword does state that the foolish king who tried to wield it died because of it.” “If I remember correctly, Eldest, the king fell when his son killed him to take power; the sword didn’t work for him, and the son decried his father half-human.” The warlock shrugged. “But I could be mistaken; nonetheless, one would imagine that the humans would have such a weapon of power heavily guarded, for safety purposes. Surely they didn’t hide it in some costal temple without any sort of protection.” “But they did; it’s power became legend, and with no heir to the sword seen, it was hidden away in one of their vile temples to rot.” The Eldest tapped his staff three times, a servant giving the warlock a glass of water. “It is their mistake. The scroll you hold has all the instructions you require; when you gain the sword, you will return here and your next mission will be discussed.” William was about to speak when he felt something lightly tap his shoulder. He looked over, a small bit of wood having landed there. He glanced up, seeing a dark shape hanging from the rafters. It was then chaos broke out. It is truly surprising how much chaos can be done in a few seconds. Within five, three warlocks dropped dead from crossbow bolts, six had reached out with their powers to attempt to knock the man from the rafters, and two more had ducked for cover. The man crashed into the floor, gracefully rolling as he fired off three more shots and rolled towards the exist. The commotion had drawn the guards from the outside, both of them receiving an elbow to the face for their troubles. The commander darted through the door, rolling out into the street while candle light began to appear in the windows. Ducking over to Karin, Monroe breathed a few curses before getting his breath back. “Lieutenant, I am getting sloppy; we need to get the **** out of here and soon. The seargent is the lucky one though; all this attention over here is going draw away any warlocks who might be in his area.” The Commander looked around, cursing once more. “The Books of Prophecy really have been opened; if we could find where they are... no, that would take too much time, time we don’t have. The calvary will be here any minute now and we can’t afford to be caught directly where all the most powerful warlocks are centered. There’s a building only slightly smaller than this, maybe thirty feet tall. If we can get on the roof we can get a very good line of sight on where everything is. Corporal, that’ll be your job. Lieutenant, you’re with me; we’ll be heading towards the insertion point and securing it. Before that, though, I’ll take the honors.” Striking a match, the Commander light the fuse on his final charge, tossing it through the doors before slamming them shut and putting a titanium crossbow bolt through the handles. He motioned for the other two do light theirs as well, then began darting towards the next objective.

Username ~ KeizahCharacter Name ~ TsulcrixAge ~ 22Specialization ~ Fire ~ Tsulcrix can cause combustible materials to ignite into fire, then direct the fire. However, a weakness of her magic is that there must be material present to fuel the fire (i.e. she can create fireballs, but only if combustible gasses are immediately present). She can also manipulate objects enveloped in flame, such as burning ropes or hot coals. It is also possible for her to magically extinguish flames, although this is always more difficult than creating flames.Appearance ~ Tsulcrix has what we would call a Mediterranean appearance: medium tan skin, dark eyes, and black hair. She is somewhat skinny, both because her former profession kept her indoors and her reliance upon agility in combat. She usually wears sleeveless purple robes, leather manacles, and leather boots. She uses colorful clay beads as jewelry, because anything more valuable would draw unwanted attention from thieves.Ability/Trait ~ Ironically, considering her magical specialization, Tsulcrix is a gifted scribe and bookbinder. Although she is not legally qualified to be a notary, Tsulcrix has been hired a number of times to write marriage licenses, legal letters, and last wills and testaments.Bio ~ Tsulcrix was born to a large family in Xorov. She became an apprentice to a bookbinder and slowly honed her skills to the point that she could make a living from the craft. She was eventually approached by a warlock traveller, who said that her skills would be better served closer to the Order of Warlocks. Tsulcrix decided to take the traveller’s tip, and established a bookbinding and notary shop in Arhtok. However, she soon realized that the history she loved and the books she cared for would all be destroyed if the humans won the war, prompting her to enlist in the war effort.

OOCYeeeeah, I mean, Xorov is a place of bandits and thieves, low lifes and crime lords. But I'll let it pass; even the most dishonorable of places have common folk to run things. As for you Zar, I'd say jump in at Arhtok; the Great Council is about to go sky high and a full on D-Day is about to rush through there from the Empire. I'll find you some way to squeeze into our newly formed team. Sentient magical fountains solve everything, after all. Your guy should notice the yelling coming from the recently noticed human commando team. You too, Hagah; you two can book passage on the trip out of here. Meanwhile, at the bat cave... IC [Arhtok, Night] The spring felt it's time coming; it knew it would soon be dead, just as it had seen others before it die. But it had to finish it's mission, inform the remaining sons of the Maker's of their impending doom.

IC: [Marek] The young warlock knew about all the commotion, how could he not? People never realized how loud they actually were. If the Council saw what happened yesterday, then why is everything happening as it is!? We need to think with logic; and no-one's doing that. Martin thought, as he ran through the halls after the humans, intending on trying to help, as he kept a safe distance away so he wouldn't be shot, but close enough so that he wouldn't lose their trail. Of course, he'd also unintentionally be out of the way when the place went boom, but he didn't know that was going to happen.

IC: Boru ran after Monroe, but the human quickly disappeared, leaving the gravity mage with a bitter taste in his mouth as he looked around the village. He walked back into the council chamber, striding up to the council. "Council, allow me to gather a search party to hunt down the human before he's able to inform their government of what he's learned, if I may." Cairye's metal "bracelets" divided themselves, warped, and shifted, covering his left hand in a spiked, mace-like ball. Roshad's eyes glowed faintly as he waited for orders, itching to be back in Jerry again so he could find the murderer. OOC: Not sure what to make Ronare do here, so I'll wait. :P

OOCFair enough; I should add that in there sometime. Also, full out battle hasn't started yet; the commandos, while they've caused a stir, are not really engaged in full on battle just yet, though soon enough there will be. Tomorrow hopefully the assault on Arhtok begins. But the 'raiders' aren't near the fountain yet; JC hasn't got his part of the squad there yet from what I can tell. IC [Arhtok, Night] The package of explosives that Monroe had tossed in had been put out, but the Council was frantically running out of the room; they didn't want to get caught inside when it collapsed. Not soon enough though; before the very formal warlock could receive an order the explosive payloads blew out the supports of the building, collapsing the front in flaming wood. William darted through the smoke, coughing as he kicked boards away. "Out now, quickly!" He yelled, waving his hand towards the exit.

IC: Tabris followed the voice of the man who was yelling to get out. Not that there was anything else that he would've done anyway. Boru looked to his left to see a coughing Cairye in Jerry's other hand, and looked up to the gleaming titanium giant."I love you, Roshad," he laughed, chuckling.

IC[Jason Hanlon - Arhtok] Jason advanced quickly. The rooftops were mostly clear, but he surveyed anyways for any lying down snipers. Knowing the warlocks, they'd probably sooner wave the white flag before resort to using human weapons or even worse, human snipers, but he had seen too many careless soldiers lose their lives thanks to their own sureness. As he jogged, estimating that he was about halfway to the spring, and if they were close, his squad was too. He altered his steps as he spotted an adjacent alleyway. He dropped into a crouch briefly, and took a look down his scope, and his lips pulled back tightly.

OOCHerpa-derp early morning post; full blown assault to begin tonight, if all luck holds. IC [Arhtok, Night[ It was about now that Jason felt something brush against his mind, as though giving him a mental look over. Daughter of the Makers; what do you wish to gain by killing me? The spring knew it would be gone soon, but it had to delay the attackers, try to get the sons of the Makers out of the area, inform the remaining. What do you wish to achieve by ending my existence?

IC: [Marek] The explosions were a perfect catalyst for Marek to throw his plan into motion. As he'd been thinking, he'd managed to lug himself on top of a roof, and once the explosions went off, he immediately, pulled their noise and redirected it towards the fountain. As the sound waves flowed through the air, Marek twisted and manipulated them, increasing pitch and bass, and localizing the sound to one area. He held the sound tight, like a taught rubber-band, waiting until someone got closer to the fountain before letting it snap back into motion. He only had one shot, but the first person to get close to the fountain would certainly regret it.

IC: [Constantine] Constantine had been standing towards the back of the room; he had not want the Council to focus on him. Yet, anyway. He wasn't sure if they would be happy to see someone from the leading family of the old anti-assault faction. He had been worried when he noted the missing members of the Council. That had happened when the war started, too. When his family lost power. But now he was not thinking of that. He has been knocked out of the building by Monroe and had turned around to see the Council building in flames and collapsing. Makers protect us, he thought, what have they done? What have we done? IC: [Menelaus] Menelaus had charged out of the building after the imperial interloper. It had been reckless, but he now saw that that had probably saved his life. Makers be good! OOCOk guys it's my fault for this, but the fountain is doing nothing obviously weird. There is no assault on the fountain thats been revealed atm. Its simply doing its normal thing, so no one who hasn't been contacted telepathically and slash or is steathily heading to blow it up knows anything is out of the norm. No need to edit anything, it can be handwaved as increased alertness, but keep that in mind.
