Yeah, I like the characters, but the show still seems pretty pointless. I touched upon this, but Frozen still seems like the better idea for a show. It has plenty of good characters, and the main hook of the movie still existed at the end. Also it's much more popular than Tangled ever was (I personally like Tangled more and recommend seeing it if you like Disney movies, but the point still stands) The show I remember the most is the Lilo and Stitch one, and it did revert some of the characters (Stitch stopped speaking full sentences, for one). But I doubt any of these shows reverted anything that the originals said was permanent. And yeah, having the voice actors back is a huge plus.

So if you don't know, Disney is making an animated TV series based on Tangled, set between the original movie and the short Tangled Ever After. It's got a good voice cast (both Mandy Moore and Zachery Levi are back), and the art style looks really nice. But if you've seen the movie, you might notice something... off about this picture. The show could still be good, but that is a big problem they have to get around first. Also I care way too much about children's media.

I'd blame that on the marketing team, assuming that they were aiming the trailer at the more casual fans who wouldn't know how many of the Ghostbusters were actually scientists. And I guess 30 is a nicer number than 32? Either way, I feel like that part of the trailer is just gonna confuse people into thinking it's a sequel (maybe that's their plan).

Since you guys seem to like debating the new Ghostbusters movie and the neccesity of reboots, I guess I'll throw in my two cents. Just a forewarning, I've never seen a Ghostbusters movie or any of Melissa McCarthy's work, so this is more on the topic of reboots and remakes as a whole. The fact is, hardly any movies actually need a reboot and are usually just to cash in on nostalgia. But that doesn't mean all reboots are bad. I liked Disney's new Cinderella movie even though nobody was asking for it. But Cinderella at least tried to do some new things and update the story for a modern audience. Another example is The Amazing Spider-Man, which while retreading a lot of material from the Sam Raimi movies and adding in an unnecessary subplot about Peter's parents as spies, had one of the best romances I've ever seen in a superhero movie. There will always be bad reboots, but as long as they add new things to the source material and try to do their own thing, I don't think they can be written off so easily. I get why fans get upset over reboots, the fact is Hollywood will keep making them until people stop going to see them, and the originals still exist and are just as good as you remember. I think that each reboot should be judged on it's own merits and not just how it compares to the original. As for Ghostbusters, I have no idea how it's going to be, but I'll give it a chance.

It's just that I wanted it to be about putting Bill Murray in other movies, not about the necessity of a Ghostbusters reboot. And I was stopping it before it got heated.

Sorry, but I'm gonna stop this before it gets out of hand. I just meant this to be a fun 'what if' question and it's getting heated. If you guys wanna debate the Ghostbusters reboot you could start a topic in COT. But here, I'm gonna lock this post and try again with a less Ghostbusters-related actor.

Now I'm just hoping that the opposite happens with Metroid, and a month before Federation Force releases Nintendo just announces Metroid Prime 4 is bundled with it for free. (I'm not actually against Federation Force, I just want to see the world lose it's collective mind.)
