  1. Rarity's almost certainly a fan of Saph, given how she fangirled out upon meeting her. Rainbow Dash probably likes rock/metal, AJ country, Twilight... I dunno? Classical, perhaps. Fluttershy would like the softer, ballady songs, and Pinkie Pie probably listens to all of the above. Preferably at the same time.

  2. Yeah, I was going to go with the first episode, and he should no longer be able to resist bronydom by then. He will undoubtedly beg to watch all the other episodes. :)

I wouldn't go with the first one. Hmm... my favourite is "Lesson Zero", but you sort of already need to know who the characters are and how the show usually works. Maybe "Party of One"?
  3. In my topic post, I said I wanted better female characters with more screentime, and more emphasis on characteristion overall. I don't expect you all to agree with me, but where are people getting all this "pink and flowery" business from? Maybe you're all being sarcastic. It's hard to tell on the internet. But if this is an attitude that many of you genuinely hold about what media and toys aimed at girls (or, perhaps, of girls themselves), then I am seriously worried.

  4. I know she's only appeared in one scene so far, but I think this little one may just be my favourite background character...pony_oc.png Is there a fan nickname for her yet? I was thinking something along the lines of "Paintpot Smudge" . Her proportions look a bit different, though I think someone said the animators were trying out different body types for background ponies this season...

Okay, how many people did I fool? I made her this afternoon to test my drawing skills in Flash. :P

  5. This is such a broad question; obviously I think a lot of people would like BIONICLE back at a certain point, but at what point, for instance? Would it co-exist with Hero Factory? If the sets are going to use the same/similar building style, I'm going to say no, I don't want it back. Hero Factory really embodies the new style, and I don't think it would quite fit BIONICLE. But like I said, it's a really vague question, so I don't think the answers you get are going to express everything that you would need to know about what people think (I tend to call these "self gratification" polls, but I digress).

What I asked was if people wanted Bionicle back at all. I never thought of "Depends", but I guess "unsure" counts as such. People who wanted it back after a certain amount of time could say "yes", because they'd still want it back
It also depends on what form it's in. For example, I really don't want to see the current story picked back up and continued, but I would really like to see a reboot. There's probably a lot of "depends" people who haven't voted because of that.
  6. You seem to underestimate just how many shout-outs to other shows this series makes, Astrotorical. :P If you only watch half an episode or less, I think you miss out on a lot. For example, in "Best Night Ever", it spends half the episode building up all these ridiculous, over-the-top fairytale fantasies, and then has it all go hilariously wrong in the second half. Incidentally, Astro, how did you go with "Lesson Zero"? Please tell me you at least got to the part where Fluttershy beats up a bear.

  7. Usually, I would've said done CG, in the style of the Hero Factory show. However, after seeing Marvel Anime, I can say that I'm very impressed with the art style and quality of animation, and would like to see Bionicle done like that. The lack of humans doesn't seem like it would be a problem, since Marvel Anime features a show with Iron-Man, and all shots featuring the mechanized suit are very well done and still have a unique style. I think it would work very well for Bionicle :) EDIT: Upon some quick review, it seems that the show actually uses a good amount of CG for the suit, but it's still done in a very Anime-esque style.

is that Iron Man Armoured Adventures? Because I think that one's all CGI, but it's rendered to look 2D...
  8. Do pie jokes cout as a Bionicle meme? After that random Po-Matoran in MNOG shouting about somebody eating his pie?

Well it certainly seems like this thread has a lot of...*puts on sunglasses*...horsing around YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

I've never...*sunglasses*....herd that one before. YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
I think I...*sunglasses*...hay-t these puns. YEEEEAHHHHHHHHH
Oh? Well, I know mine was bad, but yours... *extra pair of sunglasses*... was the last straw! WOOHOOO! [/kiina]
  9. The subject of the "Doctor Whooves" character is part of something that I've had my own strong opinions on. Would you kindly care to listen? This whole idea for taking certain characters from one work of fiction (or non-fiction, on occasion) and "adapting" them for another is one that's been done for awhile, and has been used on occasion in crossover tales. But the thing I have a problem with in regards to that is that the possibly-implied idea that the character's form has been transformed into one more convient is a concept I find a little uncomfortable and unpleasent for some reason. It feels like.... like a bit of an unfortunate and senseless thing to do. I know that others are okay with it, but I just can't really take it well for some reason.(I

What about the possibility of alternate universe versions? I know some fics go the transformation route, but would you be more comfortable with the doctor as a pony if you could reason that it was a version of him that had always been that way?
  10. If it's the episode I'm thinking about, they didn't change the voice for the abridged episode.

I think it was a more recent one and they only did like two episodes of it but the sound quality was almost as good as the actual show. In it Flutterfly had a deep manly voice throughout but still acted shy and talked at a low voice. In the end of the second one there was a scene when they were fighting that evil pony and they were fighting it Final Fantasy I style. I watched it a week or two ago.
Haven't seen the abridged series, but the deep voice is based on something that happened in the canon episode "Bridle gossip". But, yes, she normally has a very soft female voice.
  11. Will someone please explain why a bunch of people like this show so much?! I watched the first six episodes of season 1, just so I could form an accurate opinion... It's cute and everything, but an internet phenomenon about anime ponies? Really? I just don't get it. Ok, let the flaming begin, lol.

To get a good idea of the show at its best, try "Lesson Zero". Exploding barns, bearfighting and a psychotic purple unicorn!
  12. Hammerspace! In other words, having access to a large pocket dimension where I could store my stuff, and access it whenever I want. But I wouldn't waste it all on giant hammers. If I was being attacked by someone, for example, I could just throw them into Hammerspace, and bring them back out later when I was better equipped to deal with the problem. Or not at all. ...yes, I have thought about this far too much....

Now I'm not sure, but I think I'm seeing a Scot Pilgrim sub-space reference there.
Hammerspace and pocket dimensions appear in a lot of stuff, so, kind of but not entirely.
  13. It would be difficult to tailor Bionicle to a more female audience, as action figures are almost always targeted at boys. There are plenty of girls who like them, but the vast majority of action figures are bought by boys, so made for boys, then bought more by boys. option 1 would seem more likely to me.

Thing is, the term "action figure" is just a clever marketing device to get boys to buy dolls...
  14. Then there's the ability to pull out a car, motorbike, hang glider etc whenever you suddenly need transport. And if I was into superheroing, I could have a massive artillery of weapons on hand at all times. ...yes, I have thought about this far too much....
