  1. ...So, that's why you apparently thought I was a guy, too?
  2. I think it was a more recent one and they only did like two episodes of it but the sound quality was almost as good as the actual show. In it Flutterfly had a deep manly voice throughout but still acted shy and talked at a low voice. In the end of the second one there was a scene when they were fighting that evil pony and they were fighting it Final Fantasy I style. I watched it a week or two ago.Haven't seen the abridged series, but the deep voice is based on something that happened in the canon episode "Bridle gossip". But, yes, she normally has a very soft female voice.
  3. To get a good idea of the show at its best, try "Lesson Zero". Exploding barns, bearfighting and a psychotic purple unicorn!
  4. I've never...*sunglasses*....herd that one before. YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
  5. Now I'm not sure, but I think I'm seeing a Scot Pilgrim sub-space reference there. Hammerspace and pocket dimensions appear in a lot of stuff, so, kind of but not entirely.
  6. Carrot Top x One of Celestia's Guards, with Doctor Whooves somehow involved. ...I haven't seen Luna Eclipsed yet, but is anyone else thinking they wasted a perfectly good opportunity to dress Twilight Sparkle as a vampire?
  7. Thing is, the term "action figure" is just a clever marketing device to get boys to buy dolls...
  8. Hammerspace! In other words, having access to a large pocket dimension where I could store my stuff, and access it whenever I want. But I wouldn't waste it all on giant hammers. If I was being attacked by someone, for example, I could just throw them into Hammerspace, and bring them back out later when I was better equipped to deal with the problem. Or not at all. Then there's the ability to pull out a car, motorbike, hang glider etc whenever you suddenly need transport. And if I was into superheroing, I could have a massive artillery of weapons on hand at all times. ...yes, I have thought about this far too much....
  9. Does it involve Kopaka, by any chance? I'd love to see the ponies trying to teach him about friendship. Or it could work as another Vezon-Olmak fic.
  10. Depends on how they did it. I think the original had a significant number of flaws, and I would really only be interested if the reboot addressed them.
  11. It was episodic enough to be broken down into series of books and comics.
  12. Pokerus and an EV item gives you ten points for a pokemon that would normally give you 1. So, to get 252, you fight 25 pokemon while wearing the item, and then one more without it, 26 in total.
  13. I just assume that some families develop naming traditions (such as AJ's family having an apple theme), while others don't. When marrying into one of these families, a mare may sometimes change her name to honour the tradition, adopting a part of her husband's name. EDIT: Maybe the Apple family is also descended from a broader fruit-farming line of ponies, hence their relation to the Oranges. Over time, each generation's talents became more specific as the population grew.
  14. Didn't say I wanted an anime, I just think the island of Mata Nui would look really nice with hand-painted scenery.
  15. If Bionicle was to be made into a TV show, how should it be done? What kind of style and tone? Are there any particular people (animators, directors, voice actors, etc) you would want working on it? At the moment, I'm thinking detailed hand-drawn animation with nice, Miyazaki-style scenery, at least, for the 01-03 parts of the story. The Metru Nui arc seems more suited to CGI or Flash.
  16. So, anyone here got a favourite sitcom? Or a least favourite? The only one I watch on a regular basis is How I met Your Mother. Mostly because of the surreal humor and Neil Patrick Harris.
  17. That's probably the main change I'd make, too. Also fits in with the "appeal to a wider audience" thing.
  18. It had an original, engaging storyline that managed to provide some genuine surprises and twists. However, that said, I would much rather see a continuity reboot than a continuation of the current storyline. The main flaws were in the way the story was told, rather than the story itself, and I would like to see Lego give it another chance.
  19. Timid Jirachi, Modest /Timid Celebi, Relaxed Suicune, Adamant Entei, Timid Latios and Latias... and a Timid Mew. Really, it's just the formula I'm trying to master. All will have Pokerus with the correct boosting items. I just need the formula for the general buildset of two maxed stats and a +4 evs in another stat. If you give me one for the 4 timid pokemon, and one for both Adamant and Relaxed. It really depends on how you want to use them. As in, are you going for offense or defense? Do you have any movesets in mind yet? That said, you'll generally want to max Entei's Attack and Speed, so 252 points for each of those, plus 6 in HP. Timid Latios is almost always 252SpA, 252 Speed, 6 HP. However, the other timid Pokemon may or may not want to be bulkier, depending on what you're going for. Those legendaries have fairly wide movepools, and so may be able to fill any number of different roles on your team. Relaxed is not the best nature for Suicune, but it's funtionally fairly similar to Bold. Max its HP and Defense, with 6 in Special def.
  20. Hey, at least they're not saying "Want a boyfriend?". Ironically, I get a lot of girlfriend ads in other places, but here I'm just getting manly stuff like Transformers and rugby. I guess MLP really is manly now.
  21. I've noticed that pronunciation of the word "Pokemon" varies from country to country. So far, I've got: Japanese- Pokay-monAmerican- Pokey-monAustralian- Pokuh-mon I first noticed when I saw Australian ads for Black and White, and noticed that they use the Australian pronunciation listed, rather than "Pokaymon" like in the show. Anyone got any more?
  22. Oooohh... outdated gender stereotypes! Retro! Wait... A-are you going to try to take away my woman-card because I likeBionicle, too? Women don't get card[/sexist] jk Guys it isn't really THAT girly. It's unisex.I don't even get a card?! (That actually is pretty sexist, when you think about it. If liking something "manly" doesn't affect a woman's reputation, but liking something "girly" affects a man's, then that implies that things aimed at girls are automatically considered inferior! Sexist against both men and women.) And, didn't we agree that all the explosions, bear-fighting and vomit jokes in MLP more than make up for the girlyness?

  24. As long as it's not done by the same people who did the HF miniseries... So, teenage ninjas with elemental powers, huh? This show will have to work to differentiate itself from Avatar: The last Airbender, especially since the latter has a sequel miniseries coming out in 2012. The comedic tone may be enough to set it apart, as long as it's done well.
