A monstrous pun (click for larger image) Back View Gallery Flickr Link This is for an upcoming collaboration with my friend Djokson titled: Weed Whackers. We'll get around to (hopefully) revealing more about it as December approaches. The Eyesaur is a flower monster that utilizes it's petals for sight. It also has a second mouth on it's belly for quicker feasting (it actually does open and close too!). The name is a pun on the word "eyesore".

At this rate I'm more or less having moments of activity rather than moments of inactivity Eyesaur (click for topic) Flickr My love of puns cannot be described.

Post-hiatus fall out boy
Lord Oblivion commented on shadow pridak money gang's blog entry in blogs_blog_1785
They're great. I mean, like I can rarely listen to a whole album and feel thoroughly content with each song. Even some of my favorite groups have at least one or two songs that I don't enjoy. But so far all of FOB's songs have been great post-hiatus. -
Thanks! Yeah, the torso was the biggest problem in the previous version (also, the feet), so I made sure to really smoothen it up and look good. Thanks! I do enjoy building more serious stuff, I just really enjoy those type of characters.

So I revamped an old MOC of mine: Click for topic.

A revamp of the original I made 3 years ago This will be for BZP's Flickr contest. (Click for a larger picture) Another PoseBack View An Interesting Find Gallery Flickr Since I made this MOC long ago I really wanted to fix the problems the original had, especially since I now have the parts to do so. I made a body that is actually acceptable, added some nice headlights, and another set of limbs in the rear. Because 4 arms are much creepier than two.

BBC Contest #68 Preliminary Poll Rei
Lord Oblivion replied to Tufi Piyufi's topic in Official BBC Contest #81 Voting
Tufi explicitly stated that the entries must be humanoid (or at least very close to being so, being bipeds and such), so you cannot knock the participants for following the rules. Also, what Makaru said. And that the scale of Gundams (in respect to their pilots) that would be needed to actually fit a pilot (a minifig I assume) would be too large to be practical, and arguably make even the process of properly photographing the entry a difficult task. You cannot fault the builders for being sensible and realistic, because they wished to stick closer to the actual source material (which the contest actually encourages) than having a physical pilot. -

I really like this. The head and gun are arguably the best parts of this MOC. I like how you deviated from the standard Gundam head and went for this more sniper oriented design. And obviously that gun is gorgeous. I do think this suffers from a lack of another color, and its sad you couldnt find something that could help (I did like the inclusion of green from the WIP though). The main problem is that because of monochromatic colors, it makes some areas seem cluttered and/or difficult to recognize, mostly since the jet-pack seems to muddle the front view. When you revisit it, might be good to have the jet-pack area be a different color, so that not only does it make people curious to see it (which they should! Since it does look great), but then it only enhances your MOC. The legs are a tad skinny for my liking, beefing up the knees and back of the thighs would fix it, since the lower legs only seem awkward because of the aforementioned areas. Some HF 2.0 or 1.0 feet instead of the rahkshi feet would be a nice substitute here, I think the 2.0 might work better, in this case. They'd also help make building some better ankle armor an easier task. Overall this is really cool, and the fact that my attention is immediately drawn to that awesome gun is a big plus. Great entry. Good luck in the contest!

I agree with Makaru that this is much better than the previous version, and definitely has more of a Gundam feel. I think the head is arguably the best part of the MOC, as it does look like that of a Gundam, although the side view of it is a bit iffy, because it makes the eyes seem a tad too large. I like how the torso is constructed, however I feel that if the yellow HF circles were red, instead of yellow, that it would mesh with the overall MOC better, or alternatively, a small splash of yellow on the legs (preferably on the kneecaps) would have helped balance the yellow a bit better. It just feels that there might be a tad too much yellow on it is all. The wings on this are nice, however it might have been better to make most of the jet-pack area a color other than white, because from the angle you posted, it looks a bit cluttered, a more head on angle might have proven otherwise. Also, just like Makaru, the shoulders are lacking. There isn't much that can be done due to the HF wheel thing, but some larger sort of shoulder armor would've been nice. But these aren't majorly distracting, just stuff that detracts from the Gundam aspect, rather than the technique/appearance. A solid entry nonetheless, good luck in the contest!

Thanks! Yeah, the flower was more of a late add-on, I was running out of white boat studs, so I felt that having some design there to symbolize something from the samurai culture would be nice. If I had tiles in blue and red, I would probably have used them instead. Thank you! Gundams are awesome, thereby making this contest all the more awesome. Yeah, my white system parts selection is limited, kinda made me regret having white be so prominent xD I agree that they do stick out and ruin the texture in some parts. I think the skirt is most likely the problem for the color balance, that and possible the lack of color on the legs? Yes, the visor is lacking - I mean it does do the job, but something different would've been better. You're right on all points. Thanks! The shaping was the toughest part on this, considering that Gundams have some weird textures that are difficult to translate into MOC form, glad you like it. Yeah, I felt the pistons would help emphasize how big this is (it really is though!). I was finalizing the jetpack today, and I felt that finding a way to fully connect them would've cluttered up the jetpack a bit much, and made it look cluttered, which I aimed to avoid. Thank you, I appreciate your post! You too!

Official BBC Contest #68: Get in the Robot!

This is for BBC #68: Get in the Robot! This is: Warpath Gundam (^Click for larger picture^) Back/Side View View of Jets Gallery (when public) Flickr Link I based some of this from Turn A Gundam, but otherwise it's mostly aesthetically and proportionally based on various Gundams. I tried to give it a samurai-esque feel, with the crest, shoulder armor (and the flower, for shintoism), and the skirt to some extent. Other than that, I did what I could to maintain the Gundam aesthetic and design, with the longer legs, boxier torso, and I even gave it 5 fingers! The shoulder armor and skirt do not restrict articulation, the skirt is connected via balljoints, and the shoulder armor is able to swivel up and down (while the tiles can also go up and down) due to a system of pins and stuff. I wanted to keep it as real to Gundams as I can. The ankle armor does restrict it a bit, but it is necessary in order to support the mass of the MOC. C&C appreciated.

Everything is Awesome! - The LEGO Movie Giveaway

Count me in! It really was a great movie <3 This is really nice of you! You sure will be brightening up 4 peoples' days (or most likely week, cause who wouldn't re-watch the movie multiple times?) -
All scorpions glow under UV light, so maybe that's what you're thinking of. Thanks guys :3

Thanks, bro! I tried not to put too much red, because I knew that it would soon begin to really clash with the GITD, I'm glad that it worked out xD. Yeah, I tried to stick to the anatomy as accurate as possible for this, and the tail was something I realized I had to fix. Thank you! Yes, the GITD blue is really a great color, wish I had more. Thank you! Although it is red But the brighter picture gives it a orangish tinge. Thanks! Scorpion tails typically have a longer segment at the end, so I felt the barraki head would help emulate that, although I do with the back of the headpiece was a bit shorter. <3 Of course! Boat studs are really fun to use. Yeah, this actually used a large quantity of my pieces, each leg itself has almost 30 pieces. Thanks! I tried my best to shape this well, not very often that I build something based off a living creature, so I might as well do it right. Thanks! (It is actually red, sorry about the confusion) The legs don't necessarily pop off, but they are sensitive, due to the weight of the MOC. That's red - but I think orange would look cool. I wonder if Lolo has those parts in that color. I could replace nearly everything with orange, except boat studs and some connectors. Yes, it is a Gadunka head. Thanks! Thank you! Scorpions actually glow under UV light, so that was the inspiration behind this MOC's color scheme, actually (and yes, this does glow in the dark)! Well, the claws are accurate (although claw structure slightly varies between species). The two little parts on the stinger that stick out are odd, yes, but the overall shape of it is accurate to the ones all scorpions have. It can. And they look weird because they look like the real thing. <3 Thanks <3 Glad you like it! No actually! Scorpions have 8 legs and two pincers (because they still are arachnids). The mistake may be from the Nui-Jaga, who had 6 legs and similar scorpion structures, however those are not anatomically correct to real life scorpions that you'd find.

It's been a while since I've made something big. Took me a while to finish this, but glad I got it done. A large scorpion using GITD blue pieces. A minion of the Egyptian Goddess, Serket. I tried to maintain the anatomy of scorpions, however, I only decided to take creative license on the eyes, because I wanted something that really popped. The legs can all move, the tail is pose-able (and the stinger is also able to rotate back), and the top pincers can close down like a real scorpion. Gallery (When Public) Flickr
