  1. So i was browsing carlos d andas page this afternoon and saw that he had uploaded sketches of (so far) the first two pages of the first ever bionicle comic. I've always liked looking at stuff like that because A. i like to draw. and B. bionicle was always a part of my childhood. I would give a link to a certain site, but im pretty sure thats frowned upon in these parts of the internet. But i will provide a link via brickshelf. Disclaimer, i do not own bionicle, i did not draw any of the official comics, etc. Edit: brickshelf is being mean to me right now and doesn't want to upload the other page. will try again laterhttp://www.brickshel...dee-d5f60ug.jpg first page
  2. Hoo boy. Its been awhile, but i believe the last lego set i got was something with egyptian pharoahs...
  3. well, i mainly keep my LEGO Bricks in a drawer and the shelfs i do have in my room are used for video games and graphic novels and a few odd books. I used to have some lego NBA minifigures with their little square shaped stand and card you insert into said stand though.
  4. Its been awhile so I'm not sure if any progress has been made on B:COD. Nonetheless, I "revamped" an earlier piece of concept art and would like to hear what everyone thinks. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/pickle962/BM/000_0010.jpg
  5. Well, I can't speak for the rest of the team, but here are my opinions:1. No. We're aiming for Bionicle shooter, not Bionicle-themed shooter. Tahu's firesword would probably act primarily as a melee weapon, but you could use an ability to shoot a fireball, do a flamethrower thing, etc.2. Probably not. We're aiming for simplicity to get that jump-in-and-play feeling; we don't want to overwhelm players with options before they start.3. Probably not even that - I'm thinking a blocky, poorly modeled Toa walking around a poorly designed map and maybe shooting fireballs at wooden crates.thanks for answering my questions man. anyway, i drew a piece of concept art today. Feel free to give some feedback. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/pickle962/BM/000_0009.jpg
  6. Since its been quite a while since we talked about B:CoD, i have a few questions.1.Are the "guns" in BCoD going to act like real guns? i.e tahus fire sword could act like a basic pistol2. will players be able to customize their character to their liking like in bionicle fighter broken virtues?3. What should be in the first demo? I think 2 or 3 maps. 2 of the classes, and maybe options like adjusting the sound for example.
  7. I am. Dunno about the rest of the gang, but if you still wanna make BCOD a reality, then I'll help with concept art like before.

    Bionicle Manga

Hey guys, its been awhile. but heres page 12 as well as three new pieces of concept art. Well.. it depends on your defintion of new. these are from 2008-2009 so obviously the art is not that good, but thats concept art for ya enjoy
  9. I use my telekinetic powers to bring the mask to me. mask is mine. end of story.
  10. been grinding to level 40 in Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story. Speaking of which, I really and I mean really hate Dark Star X. After mostly breezing through the gauntlet in challenge node, Dark Star X kicked my butt, and worse yet, even with the marios pow badge and luigis excellent!!! badge activiated when the dark star is vulnerable to damage, i only do moderate damage...what a pain.
  11. ^ To quote Charlie Sheen "WINNING!!!" That would keep any youngster entertained for weeks. On subject though, I think my first lego set was duplo or something like that.
  12. What about the golden kanohi and silver kanohi that came with most krana packs? I remember getting one golden mask of strengh when I was younger along with a silver hau.
  13. One time a few years back, I was rebuilding my toa nuva sets and I couldn't find Onua Nuva's Paraki. Guess where I found it? In a Payless bag in my closet...(Don't ask why I had a payless bag...). Going off topic for a brief moment, back in elementary school when I was waiting for either my mom or my dad to come pick me up from school, I found a lego windshield piece laying on the ground and decided to make myself one lego piece richer and put it in my pocket.
  14. Maybe its a picture from early development of Tales of the Tohunga? Best way I can describe it.
  15. "Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story" which if you didn't already guess is a biopic about the life and times of the King of Pop. Just so everyone knows, this movie was made when MJ was alive and well. For starters, if you are gonna make a movie about a celebrity, stick to the gosh darn facts. Last time I checked MJ was almost white by the time settled into Neverland Ranch, not completely black. Also, yes i understand that "Man in The Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story" was made circa 2004 when MJ was being accused of pedophilia a second time, but he was innocent folks! The late King of Pop even said something to the effect of he would slit his wrists before he would harm a child. Lastly, wheres "Thriller", "Black or White", "Billie Jean", "Beat It", or any other MJ song? Then again, considering the fact this waste of a biopic bombed at the box office, Perhaps MJ thought "aw heck naaaaawwww, im not gonna lend my music to a horrible movie about me thats obviously low budget and can't even be bothered to get thier facts straight" Speaking of low budget, it definetly shows in "Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story". i.e just look at MJ during the later scenes of the biopic whenever he actually is white! Looks like a zombie with powder covering its ugly face! Anyway, just had to get that off my chest. Hopefully, a proper biopic on Michael Jackson will be made eventually. That's all I got to say.
  16. I lost lewa mata's axe. Never did find out where it went which kinda sucks, but thats life i guess. :/
  17. the sets and the story obviously. Like many fans, the 01-03 story and all the mythical aspects and mystery was what got me hooked. In fact, i loved bionicle so much that i decided to create a manga based off the early years. If it wasn't for bionicle, i probably would have never even considered creating a manga in the first place( not to mention have the will to keep it running)

    Bionicle Manga

Thanks for the advice Kakaru and Kv195 Anyway, page nine of chapter four is done. I think this one turned out good especially since i've been incorporating the advice i've been given to help make the comic better.
  20. huh? A interview sprite comic? This could have some potential. Anyways, neat comic. I like how its not about fan made bionicle characters acting asinine or trying to be funny, but in reality they come across as just plain stupid. Keep it up and before long this comic will be the talk of BZP Edit: No need to insult others' comics.-Wind-
  21. I understand where you are coming from Gavla, but I just had to get that off my chest y'know? Also, I have to agree with Kakaru. Seems like the "dataclysm" like i call it has helped to have pave the way for some great new series in the comics section of A3 which regardless of whether it's hand-drawn or sprite comics is always a good thing. At the end of the day, we artists and spriters can't put a gun to readers heads and tell them to read our comics, but what we can do to help our work get the recognition it deserves is to first and foremost spread the word. It's like a domino effect. You tell something to someone and they'll tell their friends who will tell their friends, and well...i'm sure you know where I'm going with this If nothing else, update your comic like i do even if the majority of posts in the thread are yours lol. While I'm at it, perhaps someone should PM whoever's in charge of watching over A3 and the comics section of BZP and see if a review thread can be made in which all the comics are reviewed and critiqued on lets say a weekly or bi weekly basis. I think it could be a good way to help newcomers to BZP and people who aren't much for the comics on here know whats great, whats good, and whats meh...also, if a comic is meh, we should give the creator some advice to help them improve so it doesn't seem like we're just being a bunch of no good turds
  22. ^ Well spoken superkid11. That's one of the internets unwritten rules. Of course, that can apply to most anything in general. Forgive me for going off topic for a moment, but in the popular PS3 franchise LittleBigPlanet, there are close to 7 million levels in total, but are all of them good? Heck no!!! However, much like how sprite comics are the norm for BZP, copied levels in LBP that everyones already played a bajillion times are the status quo for the cool levels page. Now like some of y'all have said, there are good sprite comics and bad sprite comics and ill admit ive read a few that were actually more than decent for my tastes, but what grinds my gears is that much like how quality levels in LBP are "shunned" in favor of the same ol drivel everybody's used to, hand drawn comics( and perhaps even some sprite comics that are actually funny and not just stupid) drown in the ocean called Artwork 3 while subpar sprite comics dominate the top of the page! Like i've said before, i've read a few above mediocre sprite comics and i'm not trying to stereotype sprite comics in general either,( Besides, if it was the other way, people would probably be shouting unfair that hand drawn comics reign supreme) but again, it really gets under my skin that people would rather chow down on terrible comics rather than take the time to appreciate the underdogs that are actually making an effort to prepare quality work for the public to enjoy and give their comics a try. Of course, that just seems to be society in general when it comes to anything. New lil wayne album? "OMG!!!!!! I CANT WAITZ TOO TWEET ABOUTZ THISSSSSSS!!!!!" Some new musical talent trying to hit the big time? "Who the heck are they?" or "their music is garbage to my ears! rap is soooooooo much betterz!!!! lol" Anyway...thats the end of my rant. now if you'll excuse me, i need to go drink something so i cant refresh my exhausted throat.
  23. Didn't know where else to put this so what the heck? Anyway, as any member on here who frequents the comics section of the artwork section of BZP's creative outlet knows that for the most part, sprite comics dominate the comics section for the most part. However, among the uncharted waters lies a few hand drawn comics such as kakaru's "nathan8472's banner shop", taka nuvia's "A slightly different tale", my very own hand drawn comic "Bionicle Manga", etc. While sprite comics obviously have their place here in the BZP community, i think hand drawn comics also have a niche as well. Sure, you don't see many of the latter, but considering the mere fact that some of them actually have replies which in turn are mostly coupled with positive feedback( most hand drawn comics ive seen on here in the past have had lukewarm reception), I believe hand drawn comics can be just as good if not better than sprite comics. Anyway, I want to hear y'alls two cents. Which you do prefer or think is better in some ways than the other, Sprite comics or hand drawn comics?
