  1. Looks good. It would not look good without the silver though. Bichromatic mocs are very very very very very very very very very boring. I think even some more color would have been good. My biggest criticism is the belly button. It's kinda weird, and I can tell it's just there for the color distribution; but something else coulda gone there methinks. Good luck!
  2. Haha, PC masterrace yet again. Lego movie was only $5 on pc less than a month ago.
  3. It's our logo; a pakari with the top chopped of, and an M for Modalt put on. There's even an animation to go with it! http://modaltmasks.deviantart.com/art/Animated-Icon-410655956
  4. No, you can't send an LDD creation to brickfair silly. Nope. You, shipping there and back. (I already know the answers to these from past experience in BBCCs and being at brickfair so it's k )
  5. There is absolutely nothing wrong with seeking votes from people outside of established LEGO communities. And there's no reason people from outside of LEGO communities would be less honest than actual LEGO fans about their intent to purchase. It bothers me how so many people think that support from people who don't participate on LEGO-related discussion forums or go to LEGO conventions are less legitimate than support from people who do. Keep in mind also that not all LEGO buyers are buying for themselves. Many are parents or gift-givers who buy LEGO as gifts for the children in their lives. So even people who don't own a single LEGO set of their own, or who haven't built a LEGO set since they were children, can be legitimate supporters. I remember that when the LEGO Minecraft proposal reached 10,000 supporters in record-breaking time, a lot of AFOLs dismissed its validity because a lot of the gathering of support was done within the Minecraft community, not within LEGO fan communities. Yet as it turns out, the Minecraft set was so wildly popular that it has become a launching point for an entire LEGO Minecraft theme. Do you really think that 10,000 purdue students would buy that Purdue Pete set? In the case of Purdue Pete, many (but not all) supporters created accounts just to support the project. The new points system (combined with the Lego ID integration) could conceivably be used to avoid issues like that, by allowing the review staff to gauge how many of a projects supporters have abandoned the site after supporting a single project, or conversely, how many support projects indiscriminately just to boost their own reputation. A project that has the bulk of its support coming from either of these groups would likely be judged as a weaker business case than a project that drew established users or new users who show dedication to the site and the Lego brand. That may be true, but you forget that the point system has nothing to do with Lego being able to do that. They could analyze how many accounts were created or how many people are indiscriminate spammers regardless of whether there is a public point system or not; and in the case of the people who vote for everything, there wouldn't be that problem in the first place (or at least not nearly as much) if the point system weren't there.
  6. Um, it did. It won the whole BBCC 67.

  8. good idea! anyway, the deal is not so bad for MISB! it depends, how many bidders want the same thing... also, do you want to resell it, or just for your own collection? Thanks for the input guys, I really want to go for it. And it would be for my personal collection, since I stopped collecting Bionicle around the hordika era. I actually want to buy them new so I can open them is that crazy? i don't think it's crazy, but i don't do it i don't care about boxes, containers, i only need the set complete x) plus, it's already been mentioned, it's pricey (sometimes not that much, sometimes very much)... MISB sets are great for resale, though Well they can't be that great at reselling, I have listed two MISB sets in this forum, and even though they cost 99 cents FOR BOTH OF THEM, no-one wants them! like, what? You're not going to get the best price here. List them on bricklink or ebay, preferably bricklink.
  9. There's a lot of good improvements, but I don't like some of the changes. They definitely fixed a few stupid things from Cuusoo, like adding a 1 year limit, adding more info for when you support something (though people will still BS it and it won't mean anything), and making it easier to find good projects, but I don't like how it is promoting following people and getting followed. From what I've seen, people are now just going around and following anyone they can find, with the hopes that other people will reciprocate, and they will get POINTS. With this POINTS system, it will probably encourage people to vote for things they don't really support, cheating on votes, etc. Sure it will almost definitely succeed in keeping the site more active, but I don't want to see more projects like Purdue Pete where it's obvious that the person either used dirty tricks, or the female minfigs, where they almost definitely got a non-lego community to go and vote for a project that they don't actually intend to buy. The concept of Lego Ideas is wonderful, but something big needs to be done to keep out the bad stuff, make cheating more difficult, and make it so that good mocs with realistic goals can get the support they deserve. (R.I.P. Mahjqa's Tachikoma project!)
  10. Hmm. Even though we're constraction builders, I can't see any reason why anyone would need 10 of the same mask/head, plus with the low parts numbers of the sets, it would be very hard to split it up evenly. I don't think I would want in on a constraction parts draft TBH, though it could depend on the set.
  11. I'm more inclined for the 2 set option. Last parts draft I was in at BFVA was great, I got good parts, but I got more than I know what to do with! I'd like to get more kinds of parts in more manageable quantities. For the same reason, maybe we can have two drafts? Less people in the draft means everyone gets to pick more parts, and doesn't get unnecessarily huge quantities of everything. I usually don't need more than 20 of a piece at all. 10 people is plenty for a single draft, and it looks like we have close to 20 people. We would be splitting up chima or ninjago sets, right? I think they'd be most popular for Bionicle mocists, and they have very interesting and diverse parts. Also, I didn't notice the second poll said "pick all the apply". I can do any option easily.
  12. You can PM me, but it would really be easier and faster if we used email; modaltmasks@gmail.com. Though if you really don't want to use email, we /can/ do PM.
  13. Argh I wish I had known this got frontpaged since I'm the PR and sales guy for Modalt... this WOULD have been awesome if Cod remembered to mention that they're for SALE. Original sale topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/9129-modalt-custom-masks/ So yeah this shouldn't be moved to general art plz move back We can make pretty much any amount of whatever (original) masks you want, and he can make identical copies of any previously made mask for the same normal price! We do, MisterCod forgot to mention that in the post. You can email us at modaltmasks@gmail.com for commissions, and see our sales page above for details and pricing! They're not MisterCod's favorite mask out of the original 12, but they are mine!
  14. JSYK, the bricklink price of $75 for the yellow kaukau is never going to sell, ever. I got mine for $16, and that was an unfairly high price IMO Also, the black ruru isn't even close to being a valuable misprint, it came in a cheap matoran set. You can get it for about $0.10 on ebay. Anyway I'll raise the bid to $17.45
  15. NEVER judge ANYTHING based on the most expensive price on bricklink; it is ALWAYS exorbitant and outrageous. I once saw a hakann spine going for $45... though granted, I think the guy put his decimal point in the wrong place. Anyway, always judge based on the ones that have already sold, that's why bricklink gives you statistics on them; it's not only what people WILL pay, but what they have ALREADY paid
  16. >Contest is already over > He won
  17. Didn't even notice the voting topic got locked, I was late to the party but at least got my vote that didn't do anything in... Congrats on the well-deserved win Thanks! I've actually never played the games either! I just liked the character, and thought it would be an extremely challenging build with high reward if I get it right; it certainly was. It was a real pain to get all the detail I wanted into the moc, but I'm happy with what I was able to do.
  18. Um, this site was not made by lego? I think he's referring to the topic of this site. Which is, well, Lego. Also, I know that I'm to blame for it, but the comic sans really isn't working. It's staying
  19. The article mentions twice that parts are incompatible with lego, which I assume was them completely misunderstanding mark; it said that scala used few bricks, and that the brick flowers that it had were incompatible, when they are of course completely compatible, arguably more so that normal lego studs, and those flowers are even still used today. Primo is of course compatible with lego/duplo as well, as explained here. There's even a wonderful but small and obscure theme of mocs called "primopunk". Um, this site was not made by lego?
  20. Holy cheese I just realized I've had this reply sitting here for hours, and I almost went to bed without submitting my entry... D: !! Entry Name: Kingdom Hearts II Sora Entry Pic: http://i.imgur.com/tkH7Gzz.jpg Flickr Set
  21. I can post reference material in my collage picture for entry, right?
  22. System bricks that come in the bionicle playsets are not "bionicle" pieces.
