  1. Can we use: - Lego tape (from boxed sets) - Cut lego stickers or sticker pads - Cut canister stickers (the sticker on the front/back of HF canisters) Lego tape is widely regarded as purist but I'm lazy. Enough people call the second one purist, dunno about the last one, I figure with what I'm doing, it's the same as a sticker pad, and 'cheaper'.
  2. Yeah guys, I know that I am almost definitely not going to vote for any entries based off a lego videogame. Be creative. I doesn't say you can't touch up the photos. "Pictures in which the appearance of the MOC has been edited in Photoshop or other editing software are also prohibited." Basically you're not allowed to edit the photo so that the moc is shown to be something different than it is. For example, if I changed my picture to make parts purple when they shouldn't be, or photoshopping in a sword. Judges: I feel like there's a lot of questions that get asked every time in the BBCCs. I think the rules should be updated a bit accordingly....
  3. THIS. Colin and I kept singing it on the way back home, and that while we had other music playing, too!
  4. I saw the screening with Bionilug as well! It was fantastic. As a mocist, I spent way too much time looking for part recolors XD If you're any kind of Lego fan, big or small, no matter how much you know about legos, you will love it. I was worried that it was going to have a lot of stupid childish jokes, but there was surprisingly little of that; most of the jokes were genuinely funny, and you could tell because all the adults in the theatre would be laughing too~ Personally, I thought that the use of licensed themes did bog down the movie some, but I guarantee that I'm very biased in that respect; I'm not a fan of LOTR or SW or DC/Marvel; I like them, but I'm not a fan per se. I was hoping it would make more fun with lego themes, like Space Police or Blacktron, but it's understandable that they chose to use licensed themes more, because that's what the children will be able to relate to. The Lego references are definitely there; you can find blacktron or classic space logos, etc all around the movie. If you're active in the system moccing community, you might even recognize some fan-made mocs in the movie! (I knew beforehand that a few people I know would have mocs in the movie!) The other thing of note for me was how they seem to have made an effort to incorporate EVERY collectible minifig somewhere; some were even minor characters. It was kinda weird. But neither of those are any reasons to not see the movie. As you are surely about to see, "everything IS awesome"!
  5. Yo your inbox is full PM me when you get it cleaned out a bit
  6. You doubled up on your text there. Also, there's only one WMKK, the xa. You might be thinking of the VMKK, which have the set of 8. But that's gonna cost you about $800 for a full set, so get saving
  7. That makes sense. I remember getting a backhoe loader technic set, and for the first several minutes of building, I had no idea what it was having me make, and when I finally got to a point where I could tell that it was a crazy complicated way to lift the bucket and tilt it at the same time, you get that sense of solving a little mystery I guess.
  8. I'm seriously considering not getting any other set in the wave, and just getting three of this. "Half the fun is had building the set. How fun is it to build and how easy or challenging is it?" TBH, I have never found a set 'challenging', even in the slightest. The only way it can be challenging is if you build without instructions, and it's too easy to do that with HF. With instructions, sets are maximized for ease of build; no technic set or even the UCS millenium falcon has ever posed any threat to me.
  9. Other topics are locked, so I guess I gotta ask here; is there any difference in prize between 1st place and the two wildcards?
  10. may i ask which one is your entry? Black Brain Slug. I'm not gonna be all depressed or whatever and say my entry is bad, I'm quite cocky about it and think it's really good, I just didn't think it would be doing THIS good.
  11. wait, are you selling your WHOLE collection to pay for it? I.E. even after you get the avohkii, you won't have a full collection? Also, you'll never have all the one-of-a-kind prototypes ;D I have at least 6 pieces that you don't!
  12. These are so cool! Do you mind if I try to make some, and possibly sell painted ones? With credit of course.
  13. How does the cerebral spider not have any votes? And even more importantly, how am I doing this well? 0.o I had to vote for my entry of course, but if I wasn't here, it would have been a really really tough vote; I love 3, 4, and 5 equally. I think I might have gone for the ant, because it's such a fresh and cool concept that fits perfectly with the theme; I feel that some of the entries didn't really fit the theme, but this is just spot-on!
  14. I wish I could have voted #2, but I liked the mother brain better. But I'm completely and utterly flabbergasted as to how #2 is losing; badly! There is more than no doubt in my mind that it is the second, if not BEST entry here.
  15. Yeah. I just can't believe that people are using parts that they're allowed to use! It's my firm belief that contestants should always make their best effort to limit themselves in such a way as to please the minority. But then again, that's just my opinion, so I guess I shouldn't be forcing it on others.
  16. Eh okay. I'm good with my entry anyway, I don't think I would have been able to come up with anything better anyway
  17. Oh, I misunderstood the "unlimited entries" thing! Will you allow people to retract their entries if they want?
  18. Yes, that is a massively NPU unmodified Reidak spine! Name: Black Brain Slug Main Photo Photo set Topic to be posted on bzp Also, please look at all the pics for it, this was hard to get a good angle of. I also have a how-to on the main pic ^u^
  19. Well I for one think the last one was awesome ^u^ Just finished my first entry, it's a doozy! Plus I get to beat everyone to the punch on this one! :3 I'll get the good pics on Saturday and update the post then.
  20. I can sell you a complete takanuva as well. I think I also have a dume kiril and a copper huna. How much will you pay for stuff like this? But you CAN trade them for things that have well-defined prices
  21. Market Value is NOT 97. And used ones are NOT 61.80. You can get them on ebay for around $50, and even under that. If you think you can get good prices for this stuff, go sell it on ebay, but if you actually want to sell it all, give people prices that are reasonable. If your prices are higher than bricklink or ebay, nobody here will buy your stuff, because we could save money by buying from ebay.
  22. Well tbh, that moc he made with it is... lackluster... I mean I would have at least liked to see it be a takanuva moc. But it's not even gold.
  23. What are you talking about "selling people" and "renting people"? There's one company, that rents out lego sets. If you like the set, you can buy it from them instead of giving it back. That's all; no "selling people" or "renting people" And in case you're confused, this is not an official LEGO Company service. Pleygo isn't affiliated with TLG as far as I know.
