  1. Grannies are for pwning noobs!

  2. IC: "James Rogers." A female voice came from behind Brando, Natalie standing with her hands on her hips. "Nice to have you back. I should slap you for what you did to Alyssa, but... I have a feeling she already did." Natalie grinned and turned to Tasha. "I'm Natalie Hart. Nice to meet you." OOC: I apologize for incrediboo low levels of activity today, my internet has been shut off. I'll be back tomorrow with a Betsy post, I just don't have time to do her justice right now. Thanks!
  3. Instead of talking about why I'm not in the best mood today, let's play a game. Here's the idea: I start with a line that somehow makes sense but is at the same time nonsensical, like my current status: "Unfortunately, I noted as I stared at the red and white striped banana on my coffee table, it most likely would not taste like a candy cane." Then the first commenter posts something that's a continuation, such as "Nevertheless, I picked up the colorful object and peeled it, biting into it gingerly." And the second would say something like "I was right. It tasted like a banana." Comprendé? Okay, good. Proper grammar would be incredibly nice, and keep it a little wacky. I'll start off: "Margaret," I said as I entered the room, "Turtlenecks made from green lace are not proper business attire."
  4. IC: "I'm just looking forward to buying some plants from the farmers out there for my 'community garden initiative,'" A muffled voice said.
  5. "And Another Thing" is actually closer to the tone and style of the original than the others are. It's like my second favorite XD
  6. The assumption is that electrokinesis comes with those unless otherwise specified. It's also not the best example for the case you're making XD
  7. I apologize for inactivity, school is killer. I should be back soon.
  8. Unfortunately, I noted as I stared at the red and white striped banana on my coffee table, it most likely would not taste like a candy cane.

  9. Alternatively, the smasher Mantis Shrimp have little bowling ball hands, that they use to punch the crud out of basically... Everything.

  10. IC: Mady merely tilted her head slightly, containing any expression. The game had started. The only thing that escaped was a slight smile when Annie flipped her off. Meanwhile, Robin responded. "I-I'm sorry I didn't come back sooner. I got lost. That-that's actually why I'm hurt, sometimes demons just won't quit. I-I'll be fine though. Are you okay? I haven't... How long has it been?" IC: Natalie smiled and moved to her baby's crib, picking him up gently and holding him close, stroking his cheek with her thumb. "I've gotta go with your dad. Don't- I promise I'll be back. Don't hurt anybody, okay?" Clint repeated the same thing he and Brando had said earlier. Typical. OOC: Betsy and Tali tomorrow.
  11. "Contagious powers" would be incredibly dependent on the nature. If, say, it was activating latent mutant abilities/shutting them off permanently I wouldn't allow it, but if it was something along the lines of a lycanthropy-like infection I can see it.
  12. IC: Robin inhaled sharply but hugged Nicole anyway, the sheath at his side clanking into the wall. "Sorry. I-I couldn't find... It's been a while, I'm sorry. I missed you." Now, for the first time, Mady watched Annie's face. IC: "Because obviously 'Deputy Headmistress for a day' is gonna read better than 'psionic ninja.'"
  13. IC: "I became a psionic ninja to avoid working at places and learning things."
  14. IC: "Warren, it smells like effort out here. I don't like it." IC: Tali's hands fell from Dallas' head as he came to and sat up, her face falling a little when he mentioned going back before she covered it up again, wincing in empathetic pain. "Dal..." IC: Alyssa didn't like this. At all. True, the Sentinels had never been the most reliable troops, but the Archangels were an entirely other matter. Still, she stood to the right of Morales, at attention, with the shield held over her lower torso and upper legs, still blindfolded. Paladin, meanwhile, was on the other, though his emotions were more unreadable than Nike's. Her jaw was clenched and her muscles slightly tensed, but he seemed to be somewhere else entirely. IC: "Wake up, sleepyhead." Natalie poked Brando, already sitting up in bed.
  15. Name: CLASSIFIED Codename: Paladin/Unshakable Age: 36 Gender: Male Loyalties/Faction: SHIELD/the President. Power(S): Unlike the prototype implants Heka Lockspur received, Paladin's are movement enhancers, allowing him to move faster and punch harder. Additionally, nanoweave generators have been added, letting him staunch bleeding easily. This is not a healing factor. The nanoweave cannot replace bones or muscles, only repair skin and other connective tissues. His final ability is his only range power, that of magnetic push and pull. It's nothing like Magneto's, he can only exert slight brute force with no precision other than directional. None of his implants have wireless connectivity, and all have SHIELD eternity code encryption. A technopath could still get through, but it'd take a while. Appearance: Tall and muscular, with pitch black hair cut short and icy blue eyes. His armor is dark too, made of interlocking plates with a wire mesh underlying them. He was handsome, but the large white scar on his cheek and various other previous cuts have diminished that somewhat. Weapons/Equipment: A suit of improved prototype SHIELD armor, capable of generating a laser blade and shielding the wearer from most kinds of harm, for a limited amount of damage. The HUD shows shield integrity as a percentage and automatically alerts the user to incoming projectiles. The field will recharge, but it takes resting time. Additionally, it cannot repair its own skin, only the shield. Skills: A crack shot and excellent hand to hand combatant, in addition to being one of the most experienced and tough field commanders SHIELD has. Personality: Unwaveringly loyal but with a niggling conscience, Paladin is what would be the ideal soldier in an ideal world. This is not, however, an ideal world. Weakness: Paladin is, once you get past his enhancements, an ordinary human, and a broken bone is a broken bone. Bio: CLASSIFIED
  16. IC: "I see now that I should have listened to our great and powerful leader Mitt Romney and repented from my evil ways." Betsy grabbed on to Warren tightly. "hold me"
  17. At the end of the day, I'm okay anyway.

  18. IC: "I assume nothing, Ms. Worthington. I rarely deal with anyone without investigating them first. Nor did I say being a murderer or having power was a bad thing, merely that we do not need more murderers in this particular group. Killing is so... Counterproductive." Mady checked something off a mental checklist, mapping another part of Annie's mental profile. "Ms. Binder, I have a feeling that there's an example of the problems a search for power can bring very close by, though I don't know how you'd react to seeing him..."
  19. IC: "Oh, you know you love it." Betsy dropped from somewhere around the ceiling and landed on her feet softly, even though the others could have sworn she wasn't there an instant before. "Nice to meet you, Lilliana." Evidently, she was in a good mood at the moment, and had gotten dressed in relatively normal clothes. Well, apart from the fact that the shirt and jeans were obviously Warren's. IC: (Hawk) Nate muttered something under his breath about theatrics. IC: "Because, frankly, we don't need another person exploiting childhood tragedies to create more murderers." Mady's face barely twitched.
  20. IC: "Oh, a grown woman trying to bully a girl into becoming her by twisting a knife in an old wound." Madysyn said that with a complete lack of emotion. "Very royal, wouldn't you say?" OOC: Nate's timeline was improperly aligned, incoming realignment. IC: With only once glance back toward Shiloh and Dominik, the archer vanished into the city. *** "Really, guys?" Nate glanced up from a magazine he was reading at Dominik and Asa, shaking his head. "You know that if I was playing I'd definitely be above both of you."
  21. IC: "Tact is always warranted, Ms. Worthington. Didn't they teach you that in school?" Madysyn shrugged and tilted her head slightly, still not looking at Annie. "Anything I say at this moment is an interruption, therefore the question is irrelevant. I simply came to see the new royalty and found this situation." Mady's voice stayed serene but there was the slightest note of disgust on the last two notes.
  22. IC: "A little more tact would be nice, Ms. Worthington." Madysyn shook her head as she seemed to appear from nowhere, eyes locking onto Nicole's face to gauge her reaction. "I'm fairly certain your counterpart wouldn't want his little spy to leave on account of antagonism on your part."
  23. IC: "This isn't gonna be easy," Nate said as he shook Dominick's hand before letting his drop to his side lamely. "I can't-" The archer looked into Dominick's eyes for an instant, remembering the last time they were in a destroyed New York and how the leader of the Brotherhood had saved his life after nearly killing him with an SUV and all the other times- But that was in the past. "I can't stay anymore, Dominick. You've changed. She's changed." He glanced at Shiloh for an instant and his gaze softened- He looked away quickly. "The Brotherhood has changed. And it's awesome what you're doing with it, but while you and her are out campaigning and changing the world, I'm staying here. I don't... The Brotherhood doesn't feel like it has a spot for an accident prone adolescent archer anymore. It needs diplomats, photographers, masterminds." "It needs you and Shiloh. Not me. I've... I've gotta change too." Nate's gaze fell to the ground and he sighed as he rummaged in his pockets, handing Dominick an index card. "I-I got a job offer and I accepted it. If-if you need me just call." "Goodbye, both of you. Shoot straight and don't die while I'm not around, okay?" Hawk turned to leave, keeping back tears as he started to walk away. IC: "Hi, Kitty." A voice seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere at once. "I trust Warren hasn't been telling you any tales about why he's been gone for a week."
