  1. Betsy pretended to gasp and pulled her towel up quickly. "Nebraska."
  2. IC: A splatter of water, exactly like someone getting out of a tub. "How far are we going?"
  3. IC: "W-Warren, you don't understand... I thought I was safe from him when I was surrounded by everyone but when Jean tried to blast me out of this world..." "He stopped her." "Who? What stopped Jean? Elizabeth. Bets. Talk to me, please." Betsy looked up into Warren's eyes, hers purely black, and Angel started to feel something encroaching on his vision. Something ancient. Something dark. Something filled with an impossible amount of hate. "He did. The... The King of Shadows." Elizabeth forced the darkness out of her eyes and started shivering again. "Well, we've dealt with the Shadow King before. Between the two of us, we'll stop him again - no half-measures this time. I will never let anything steal you from me again, Betsy, I promise." "We-we've dealt with Farouk before. Not... Not the King himself." "Is there a tangible difference?" "Farouk was a mutant with dreams of world domination. The Shadow King himself is the manifestation of human hate itself." "...Oh. Guess so, then." "And... And I don't know who he is. He could be anyone." "Well...Betsy, he's not me. And he's certainly not you. That's a good start." Betsy shuddered, as if needing to say… "He may be... Warren, I need to tell you something... Something else." "Yeah?" "Another woman was taken when I escaped..." Warren's brow pursed, and then slackened; his mouth and jaw tightened in realization. "Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me that our power control teacher wasn't eaten alive by a primordial force of hatred and spite." "Was Tali Relo black haired and green eyed?" "Oh, Jesus." "She's... She's probably still alive. He… He likes having toys." Warren took another deep breath and let Betsy's head rest against his chest. "Look...we'll get her. And we'll stop him from plaguing you. You know I mean that, right?" "I know you mean it." She took a shuddering breath. "I just don't know that we can deliver." "Oh, come now. Where's the girl who stabbed me in the heart with a Celestial Life Seed to reboot Apocalypse's brainwashing? She didn't think there was anything on Earth that we couldn't deliver." "19 years are what happened to her. 19 years of being that creature's plaything."
  4. IC: "Lowell, Alyssa Lowell." To her credit, Alyssa didn't even blink at Trinity or Tera's comment, merely looking at the whole group. "SHIELD command sent me." "They have a proposal."
  5. IC: A knock came at Mikhail's door, a rather non-superheroic looking blonde woman in a SHIELD uniform standing outside.
  6. I back up princess Ahhhhhhhna on all those counts, my lords and ladies. @Fekoro: I'll get back to yours right quick.
  7. I'm debating entering this time... I dunno though.
  8. IC: Betsy looked up at Warren, her eyes still filled with terror and snark still vanished. "But... But he's... He's still around..."
  9. IC: On the other side of the world... Betsy screamed. She snapped awake in bed and she screamed, a sound that never, never, ever came from her mouth. For an instant her unseeing eyes weren't purple, they were dark, darker, darker than her hair, darker than night, as dark as pure shadow. The scream stopped quickly, the psychic biting down on her lower lip hard enough to make it bleed, the red liquid flowing down her chin to drop onto the sheets that had been pulled off to follow Warren so little ago. Betsy sat up and shivered, and it wasn't from the cold. OOC: It was from Lynae's tender lips.
  10. I'm the only one who'll walk across a fire for you.

  11. OOC: @Requiem: I'm not sure, but if Xenin is in the group with Korru I'm fairly certain we haven't encountered Rahkshi yet... IC: (Highlanders) Smiley was looking intently at one of the corpses when Korru called him, standing quickly and dashing after the Lesterin and Diane. Diane's Mask of Night Vision was currently glowing, illuminating the tunnel ahead somewhat, and giving her near perfect vision. A throwing knife had materialized in her hand, held lax for the moment. Behind Smiley's grin was a tinge of nervousness, the Corporal's fingers running over his sword hilt uneasily as he followed Korru. IC: (Tera) Tera nodded to her group as she stood from closing the same fallen Sentinel's eyes, glancing around one more time before getting back onto her Kikanalo stepping into the darkness after Korru.
  12. Unless that player is me or Kray Kray, our inboxes are full XD Welcome to the game! If you need anything, don't hesitate to... Uh.......... Yeah, if you need me just leave a message on my profile.
  13. That's so iguanic.

  14. Hello, new person. I'm the Infamously Interesting Ironically Iconic Ignobly Ignominious Identifiably Idiotic Incredible Iguana and I'll be taking a look at your profile today while I'm not looking up more words that begin with I (I'm also Kaithas on the staff list) Okay, so, since most of your approval revolves around the Lunite armor, operative question: How much defense does it have? You've done a good job outlining abilities and offense, but I don't know how tough it is.
  15. IC: Tera "You, your squad, any volunteers and the Ihu-Koronians go first. I'll keep a few of my squad back and bring up the rear. I leave the organization of your force up to you." This was not without cause. Tera knew her old squad well and knew they could be quiet, and without knowing what was ahead any warriors not caught off guard would be a bonus. Besides, she wanted to see how Korru would do in command of a non-cohesive group. IC: Ihu-Koronian Highlanders Diane and Smiley saluted at the Captain's request, taking up positions on the left and right of Korru and on the side away from the Dark Walk, looking to him for further instruction. For once, Smiley was silent.
  16. OOC: Recommended listening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PKzU1EeKks IC: She was running, again. The girl's hacked off hair bounced as she tripped, barely catching herself with hands that were already scratched from thousands of previous encounters, the demon so close behind her. So close but she could make it, she could, she could, just a little faster, it always left her at the river- She cleared the trees, expecting to see the familiar stream, the warm feeling of relief already entering her tired body, but. No. No. She hadn't made a wrong turn. No. But if she hadn't, how could there be black cliffs ahead, their obsidian greatness towering into the sky, their glass surfaces offering no purchase. She was trapped, and there... There was nothing she could... She was dead. Months and months of running, and fear, and dread wasted, she was going to die anyway. "No holy river to save you this time, Ichabod." That blonde woman was back, watching the fugitive with disinterest. The black-haired girl barely even spared her a glance. She wasn't even sure that the blonde was real. The Beast never tried to kill her. The girl's response was torn from the air by a massive roar, a dark shadow falling across darker cliffs, the Beast's malevolent red eyes hanging over both women. Something broke in the doomed' girl's mind. She was going to die. She ran straight for the creature, jumping higher than she even knew she could and throwing the hardest kick she could at the Beast's face. IC: Mady's face twitched as she felt a slight, slight psychic wave, and everyone in the Hellfire building felt the same.
  17. IC: "I'm sorry that we're bloody late, but I got held up by the Lieutenant Tarkin, mighty killer of fun and relisher of boredom." Two more had entered the War Room, one a smiling Ko-Toa with skis on his back and the other a Fe-Toa who was shielding the fact that she was about to laugh by pretending to facepalm. Both had the Guard insignia of the Ihu-Koronan Highlanders on their shoulders, though the ribbon of the Ko-Toa's Corporal ribbon had "of Awesome" scrawled on it. The Ko-Toa was the one who had spoken, and he continued. "Corporal Smiley and Sergeant Diane reporting for duty."
  18. IC: "Yes, if you'll follow me right this way, sir." The Lieutenant started to limp back into the village, the shelter of the massive tree starting to take the bite off the wind as the ground started to get warmer. A small salute to another guard and the said individual rushed off. "Ordinarily I'd have the Corporal go ahead and get the speeders ready, but he seems to have disappeared. Again. Sir, have you perchance-" "Lieutenant, I'm sure the Hand has better things to do than worry about the illustrious Corporal," a female voice said, Tamara appearing from behind the much larger Bo-Toa. "Ambages, I'd like to welcome you to Ihu Koro. It isn't often we have visitors of your fame."
  19. IC: A Ko-Toa on skis shot past Ambages' party, cackling madly. A breathless Toa of the Green ran up a few seconds later, Calix already deactivating. "Excuse me, have you seen- Oh my." The Lieutenant blinked twice before saluting. "Ambages, sir. I apologize, I did not recognize you. What brings you to Ihu-Koro?"
  20. IC: "Sorry I'm late." If Hewkii and Korru turned they'd see a familiar shape in the doorway, smirking before stepping in to the War Room, her old longsword at her hip and a crossbow and Rena enforced shield on her back. "Guard Captain Tera reporting for duty, sir."
  21. So, uh... Funny story. I've spent the last couple of weeks either getting repeatedly kicked in the face by English 2 or on pain medication. I have two RPGs I'm currently building, but with any luck I will finish Twisted soon. Sorry again. Basilisk, as for your idea, that sounds awesome. Wraiths... I'm definitely interested.
  22. Awesome, I think I missed the sign ups for the first. Plantlife, Iron.
  23. I CAN EAT AGAIN

  24. to those waiting on me: I'm currently resisting the urge to kill everything because I can't eat and the effects of hydrocodone or however you spell it. Thanks for your patience

      Makuta of Time

Currently looking up hydrocodon. (2 minutes later) Hydrocodone is used to treat moderate to severe pain and as an antitussive to treat cough.[1] It is approximately 1.5 times less potent an opioid than oxycodone.[3] Analgesic action of hydrocodone begins 20–30 minutes after taking it and lasts 4–8 hours.[Wikipedia]
