  1. If we're talking about the sewer tunnels that Verulas used to arrive at the hospital, then have fun with that (if Mortem and Dayeth do escape, that is). It's filled with Ko-Koro Guards and specially bred rats the size of large dogs who will attempt to eat you. And I kind of just assumed that it connected to the hospital via trash chutes or something, with the manhole shaft just being there for maintenance access. If we're not, then my ramblings can be ignored.
  2. IC: "Well then," Verulas said as he stood, walking casually over to the defeated (for now) Vortixx and pulling off his cloak, his unconcious body revealing itself as he threw the tech aside. "Guess we should give this one some of the old Ko-Koro hospitality, and by "hospitality," I mean encase him in something he can't break free from so easily next time," he said, gritting his teeth through the quasi-pun and looking up at the Titan, preparing some good old-fashioned sarcasm. "Or we could save ourselves the time and effort and feed him to the rats in the sewers. I'm not picky."
  3. Oh, I'm not that worried. I was just kind of hoping I could get Verulas to make a KFC joke while fighting a Valkyr (something along the lines of, "The Colonel called. He wants his wings back.).
  4. Ah. Well, I guess I can cross a few things off of my "Things I'd Like To See/Do In The BZPRPG" list then. Oh well. Those dreams were fun while they lasted...
  5. Okay, I've got a question: since the current BZPRPG is a reboot of an older version of the game, does that mean that all of the previously created/approved races and such from the old one are no longer playable? This doesn't really affect me at all, but the question has been throwing itself around in the back of my mind lately.
  6. As I said previously, my PS3 has a text limit on my posts, and I don't have a computer. In other words, my profile post only has enough space for Verulas' character, and if I were to make another I'd have to delete him (which doesn't solve the situation as I'd still only have one character). Granted, I do have 100% of my BZPRPG time to develop him, but having to decide whether to take part in one cool-sounding event over another is still a bit frustrating.
  7. Huh. My merc and I had thought of a plan for that particular crisis, but seeing as Ko-Koro's battle is still going on, I don't know if I can get there before it's over. Oh well.
  8. OOC: That's understandable, Silo. I was just writing that way due to lack of info concerning the missing story bits. And Nato, that dream sequence was pretty funny, so props for that. IC: Verulas, upon hearing the shots coming from the Vortixx's staff, spun around in time to see a blast impact an already weakened wall of the hospital. Fortunately, instead of exploding into rubble, the wall buckled in on itself and threatened to bring down a portion of the roof, allowing him enough time to do something incredibly awesome or incredibly stupid (he hadn't yet decided which). He threw himself to the ground, the vines emerging from his hands worming their way through snow and the cold earth below before erupting once more as large, intertwining trees that both stabilised the colapsing roof and blocked up the newly created opening in the building. A nervous laugh escaped from his throat as he gasped for air, his little stunt tiring him out a bit more than he realised."That... was a little too close...," he panted.
  9. Wait, I would have to eat the plants? I was playing under the assumption that I could just turn them into energy via touch, and then absorb said energy into my character's body. Now I'm confused... And by the way Nato, if you check the description for all Toa types, it basically says the same thing for each of their elements. Also, back to the Avatar example, the Firebenders could manipulate fire, but they mostly created it via their chi. They only needed it in their surroundings in the live-action movie, where that particular rule differed from the series.
  10. Most mercenaries do like to live long enough to actually spend the money they earn. Mortem was down (?), and your character was pinned to the ground by Kellin. Even if Verulas hadn't become acquaintances with Cancer beforehand and did take the job (which he would have tried to finish as bailing gives mercs a bad reputation and would thus affect him being hired in the future), that would still leave him going up against an Ussal Crab and Krayzikk (who a. can effectively teleport, b. is a Titan, c. took down a Vortixx in one blow (?), and d. uses a morning star that's probably almost the size of Verulas' entire body). Also, Verulas is almost entirely a stealth build, which due to the snow would have been pretty ineffective as Mortem attempted the same strategy (and look where that got him). Taking all of that into account, as it happened in character for him to see, the best option for him was to not do what you were trying to hire him to do. My Toa of Plantlife likes money, but he isn't suicidal.
  11. OOC: So no definitive word on Mortem's condition yet, huh? IC: Verulas pocketed the money before strapping the dagger back to his arm. "Funny it is. To tell the truth, Cancer and I did meet previously, the last time that I was in Ko-Koro in fact, though I was a bit tired and irritable from the day's journey and the encounter was very brief. There was also another with us that day, a Su-Matoran who had a rather nasty head wound he sustained outside of the city. I could've sworn I brought him inside the walls to get him help, but I was really out of it. He probably ended up here at some point. Kind of wonder if he got out before this all started." OOC: Makuta Miras' Celsakh died on page 30, but Verulas wouldn't know that yet.
  12. IC: Verulas on the other hand, who could smile, did so as he pocketed the widgets. "Deal," he said as vines emerged from his hands, directed at the Makuta-worshipping Ta-Matoran in an effort to bind her in place and turning into solid wood as they did so. "I don't believe we've been properly introduced. Verulas, Mercenary Toa of Plantlife, at your service. I'll just assume that protection of this hospital also comes with the gig so things don't become too complicated." He leaped onto the snow, ripping a dagger from his arm and tossing it to the De-Matoran. "Here, use this. Coated it in a poison before coming up the mountain. Should keep her out of it for a few hours so she doesn't get any more bright ideas. One cut should do it. Might be good to use some on the Vortixx too."
  13. OOC: Obviously your Ta-Matoran didn't read Verulas' BZPRPG profile... IC: "One-hundred widgets...," he mumbled, loud enough for the De-Matoran to hear. One-hundred widgets... He noticed that the Ussal Crab had finally realised he was there, and smiled. "Actually little lady, I have yet to agree to this particular contract because I have not yet decided if these conditions are favorable to the amount of gold you have offered, which still leaves us in the negotiation phase of the bargain. And seeing as you neglected to provide the bonus Titan-fee of fifty widgets, a rather cheap price considering what others in my profession would charge, alongside payment...," he said, winking to the Ussal. "I'm more inclined to take up the other Matoran's offer, with the additional stipulation that he and his friends look the other way as I "confiscate" this pouch of widgets; non-negotiable of course." Today was turning out to be very, very profitable indeed.
  14. OOC: Ah. Had me confused for a bit. Thanks for the info, Nato. IC: These two really should have done their homework first before entertaining the possibility that they'd succeed. Oh well. Verulas leaned against the closest wall, watching the rather one-sided skirmish happen before him. It was all kind of sad. The Ta-Matoran was grounded, and even if the Vortixx managed to escape that morning star, he'd still have to deal with the Ussal Crab and the Titan. It just wasn't their day. Then, as the Vortixx's fate befell him, a heavy bag of widgets thrown by the Ta-Matoran landed in his hand. He tossed it in the air for a few seconds, feeling the weight before confirming that they actually were widgets as he sized up the job. The Vortixx was probably going down (he wasn't interested enough to pay any attention to him), which would have left him alone with the Ta-Matoran. Against the De-Matoran, his Ussal, and the Titan. This didn't sound like suicide or anything... OOC: Exactly how many widgets are in the bag...?
  15. OOC: Flirting...? I'm pretty sure that didn't happen, Nato. Verulas likes females... who aren't Rahi. And why would I doubt when I could just do this: IC: Verulas' rather one-sided conversation with the Ussal Crab (who, in all honesty, was probably ignoring the Toa of Plantlife all-together and pretending that he didn't exist) was suddenly cut short by a Ta-Matoran limping out of the hospital, screaming about Rahkshi or something. He looked her square in the eye, seeing the look of fear painted across her face, and- Shrugged casually. "Not my problem," he said, closing his eyes as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Until someone puts some coin in my hands and changes that, this entire place can be demolished for all I care." OOC: And the part where everyone else starts hating on Verulas should begin right about... now.
  16. To Nato and anyone else wondering who is at the hospital: Verulas, my mercenary Toa of Plantlife, is currently there, along with Uncle Chael's Matoran, Kellin Santos, and Ussal Crab, Cancer, Silo's Vortixx, Mortem (currently still in chains), and Skitty's Taleen (though I believe she's wounded). I know that isn't all of them, but it's a helpful start anyway.
  17. Hopefully, it takes place after Ko-Koro. I'm limited to one character, and him being in Ko-Koro possibly means that I'm already going to be missing out on the Entropy Beatles in Le-Wahi.
  18. IC; "So," Verulas said, still talking to the Ussal Crab. "Have you decided on wether or not you were going to introduce me to the rest of the gang out here, or do I have to go over and start being friendly myself?" OOC: Verulas has been talking to Cancer for the last 3-4 posts.
  19. IC; Verulas heard the far off blast, assuming that the gate had been breached. Perfect. Way to protect your city, guys. "Well, it seems that this evening's entertainment has finally arrived," he mused nonchalantly. "Might as well start calling the place Makutaropolis... Or Evil-R-Us... Or something else otherwise menacing... Maybe if they start putting skulls up on spikes and displayed them along the outer walls, they could get away with calling themselves Boneheads of Ko-Koro Mountain...? No, that would just be really dumb..."
  20. One of my high school friends had a younger brother who was into it, but I don't know how much of the story he knew. Coincidentally, all three of us shared a bus ride home every afternoon, so it occasionally came up.
  21. Personally, I liked the upper right arm piece, and I'm planning on getting two of the Onewa Hordika sets alongside two Avak sets so I can build a Skakdi Hordika Moc with extra bulky arms. The only flaws I saw with the original Hordika were that the arms were asymetrical and the gear function couldn't be placed in a fixed/locked position like the Toa Nuva. The Rotuka placement wasn't that big of a deal because it made sense for them to be hunched over when firing it in a specific direction, and had to have a loose launcher connection for it to fly off.
  22. I had been a fan of Throwbots/Slizers and Roboriders before Bionicle came out, and my parents (who either didn't know the difference between the three or didn't care to know) came home one day with a Turaga Nokama set for me. Unfortunately for them, I wanted more, and the local Wal-mart only had the Mata left in stock. I got hooked on the story when my first issue of the Lego Club Magazine arrived alongside Bionicle #4, and I remember counting the days for the next two months after seeing Lewa getting ambushed at Le-Koro. Would I introduce my kids to Bionicle later in life? Definitely. Congrats on the new addition to your family, btw.
  23. Galidor was a licenced theme that was released alongside a live-action television program. Unless the show's making a return as well, it's not Galidor.
  24. IC: Verulas felt his shoulder start to sting a bit, realising that the adrenaline coursing through his system had began to disperse. The sight of the wounded inside of the hospital and out, however, told him to ignore the pain as he pulled his cloak over it a bit more to hide the injury. The docs didn't have the time to look at something this stupid. They already had their work cut out for them. "So... What have you been up to since we last met? I took a trip to Ta-Koro and helped out a fruit vendor for a single widget, then fought off three thugs trying to take said widget, before hearing the news about this shindig and traveling all this way to try and make a few more of them," he said, still conversing with the crab as apparently nobody else but the Vortixx noticed him arriving. "Did you get your shell waxed? It looks more... brilliant than before. More reflective. It's nice. Bet all the female Ussal think so too...!"
  25. IC: Verulas emerged from the shaft, shutting it quickly before realising he had unintentionally arrived at the hospital. Stupid tunnels. The first thing he noticed was a chained Vortixx eyeballing him, which didn't surprise him too much since it seemed that he had developed an unfortunate knack for attracting unfriendly members of that particular species in the past few days. Being the Toa that he was, he feigned a false look of fear, complete with trembling hands, that silently mocked him. Oh no! So scary. What ever would he do? He examined the rest of the group, all of which he had never seen before, save for the familiar Ussal Crab standing nearby. "You again? We have got to stop meeting like this," he said, sarcasm oozing through his coy smile.
