  1. IC: Dahkapa

As soon as the ice started to break, Dahkapa activated his Kanohi Hau and formed a green energy shield around him. He then charged towards the Skakdi, ready to strike. She managed to shoot a green sphere that exploded into vines, but they were pushed away by the shield. Adrenaline was rushing through his bionic veins as he tried to slam into the Skakdi with his shield..

OoC: The temporary energy shield of the Kanohi will deactivate shortly, don't worry about it too much.

  2. IC: Dahkapa

He said nothing. Dahkapa just observed the Skakdi, her body armour, her crude stone weapon and her sphere launcher. She was draining his strength, he could feel it, but he was a Toa. Dahkapa stood silently, closed his eyes and created a tall, wide, opaque and thin wall of ice between them.

Her vision no longer affected him, and he took a step back and waited. Creating the wall had made him very tired, but he was a Toa. He wouldn't give up.

  3. IC: Dahkapa

Dahkapa realized, that he might have broken the Code like the Skakdi said. Was he being dishonourable? He wasn't certain. Blinding an opponent by using elemental powers.. The Code wasn't that specific about what exactly was considered dishonourable.

It was strange and amusing, however, than a Skakdi knew more about the Toa Code than many Toa did.

As the guards approached her, Dahkapa told them to stop. "I shall fight against her alone" he said. The guards looked confused for a moment, but didn't move towards the Skakdi anymore.

He preapared his shield and hammer and moved closer to the ambusher.
"No, but I still have much to learn about the Code", he answered her question. "I have much to learn about being a Toa."

Jaatava ordered his company to move. They had already wasted enough time. He cut the vines that had entangled one of his men with his sword, and glanced at his friend, who had turned into a Toa not too long ago.

He'll be fine, Jaatava assured himself.

OoC: I haven't played MNOG 2 in ages. Apparently Jaa was a scholar, not a guard. Oh well, think of him as a scribe who later joined the military and was promoted to a captain.

EDIT: Jaa is an excisting character in BZPRPG as well, so Captain Jaa is now called Jaatava, to avoid confusion.

  4. IC: Dahkapa

He ran quickly, coming up with a plan. As he ran towards the brute, he concentrated for a moment. Blocks of ice formed on Skakdi's eyes and the zamor launcher. This ice was not transparent becsuse of millions of air bubbles trapped inside as the Toa channeled his energy to compress the humidity in the air into water and then into ice. Of course, Dahkapa knew nothing of this process.

While the Skakdi was blinded temporarily, he attacked and swung his war hammer towards Skakdi's head, intending to stun him. The guards around him stood up, readied their spears and swords and charged.

OoC: The text color is not working for me. Expect these posts to turn turquoise-colored when I get back home and can use my computer.

    Edit: Color fixed :)

  5. OoC: Oh, right! He was one of the guards! There were some others with finnish names, I can't remember them exactly :/

    IC: Dahkapa

The attacker stopped and blocked the bolt with a surprisingly quick swing. Knocking a bolt mid-flight was impressive, but also intimidating. Then the Skakdi raised a weapon of some sort, and shot a green, glowing ball. One of the matoran was hit by it, and was immediately unable to move. However, Dahkapa didn't feel as tired when the Skakdi no longer looked at him. Skakdi's vision made others tired.. Then he realized, that the matoran were in danger, and his fears were confirmed when some of the matoran fell on their knees as they were too tired to stand. This could turn out horribly, he thought.

Dahkapa drew his war hammer and strapped his large, round shield on his left arm as the Skakdi fought the guardsmen..

  6. OoC: Hehe, I got a bit lazy with the names. Also, captain Jaa=Jää ;)

    IC: Dahkapa

The company halted as an ugly Skakdi charged straight at them, screaming with hatred. This had to be one of the attackers, he thought. Suddenly Dahkapa felt very tired. He considered how to react for a moment, before drawing his loaded crossbow. As the Skakdi attacked, Jaatava barked an order to the Guard to form a spearwall. They responded quickly, and a wall of spears and shields was formed at the front of the formation.

As Skakdi was a mere metre away from the spears, Dahkapa shot his crossbow, the bolt flying towards Skakdi's chest...

OoC: Dahkapa hasn't noticed that the Santum Guards are severly weakened by Skakdi's vision.

  7. OoC: Wait for me guys!

    IC: Dahkapa

Dahkapa had ran through the underground passage to Ko-Koro, and arrived to a whole new world.

    A surreal world of chaos.

There were people everywhere, many of them matoran who weren't sure where they should go, and guardsmen of the Sanctum Guard running around, some of them ordering the civilians to get out of here. Dahkapa ran towards the nearest guard, and asked him "What in the name of Mata Nui has happened here?"

The guardsman looked at him for a moment and said with a desperate tone "The Citadel has collapsed. There was an explosion. That is all I know."

"Is the Koro under attack?" he asked, trying to sound as calm as possible.

"I do not know. It might have been a terrorist attack, but some officers are shouting that the main gate and the Sanctum are under attack. I really don't know. I just follow orders."

"Where is the nearest officer, then?"

" Right there", the matoran soldier said while pointing at a guardsman nearby.

Dahkapa thanked the soldier and walked to the guard. He was relieved to recognize a familiar face. "Captain Jaa! It's good to see you again!" he said.

Jaatava, who was simply called Jaa by most people, turned to look at him and tried to smile, but he was clearly stressed. "Greetings Dahkapa. I don't really have time right now. What do you want?"

"I can accompany your troops. Are you assembling to march somewhere?" he asked when he noticed that about two dozen Sanctum Guard were forming up nearby.

"Yes. From what I've heard, the bridge to the Sanctum has collapsed, and the main gate is under attack. I am taking this company to the gate, while Captain Kallio will lead his men to find a way into the Sanctum."

Jaatava looked at him for a moment, and then said "I would gladly have your help. It's good to have a Toa by your side". He smiled again.

"Then what are we waiting for? Destiny awaits!" Dahkapa said and patted his shoulder. They were old friends.

A horn was blown, and the Fourth Sanctum Company marched to defend the gate.

  8. IC: Dahkapa

The library of Ko-Koro, located right next to the Academy, was Dahkapa's favourite place to visit, and he had spent a considerable chunk of his life there. It was a quiet place, and full of scrolls, stone tablets and even a few books. Full of knowledge.

Right now Dahkapa was reading a scroll written ages ago by some Turaga. It was about the Toa Code, an extensive list of rules that true Toa must follow. These rules were clearly focused on honor, valor and humility. The main tasks of the Toa were to protect the weaker matoran from oppression and death, and to uphold order in their own society. However, it is clear that when the scroll was written there wasn't nearly as many Toa in the world. In the recent years, their number on Mata Nui has drastically increased, and very few of them even bothered to learn what the Code of the Toa was. He did, and he was somewhat disappointed about how naïve the tome was. No killing of sentient beings allowed. Fighting had to be honourable and done during the day. Betrayal was forbidden. The punishment for breaking the Code was loss of the title Toa. He knew that there was no one on the island to execute that punishment. It wasn't strange that the Toa on the island broke the code all the time, because there were no consequences.. But he still felt that it was his duty to follow the Code, because he wanted to know in his heart that he was a true Toa.

His thoughts were interrupted as a loud explosion shook the foundations of the building. He stood up immediately, fear grasping his guts, and ran towards the door. Something terrible had happened..

    OoC:
This takes place right after the attack began. I wrote this just to show off Dahkapa's personality, as a small introduction chapter.

  9. OoC: So the sandstorm is coming towards the town, okay. I just assumed that the storm would stay inland, because I assumed that they don't threaten coastal cities IRL. A quick google search proved me wrong. :P

    IC: The Deceiver

Daretaki grabbed the bucket and filled her flask. She then gave the bucket back to the guard, thanked him and followed his instructions. The wind was blowing over the wall from south, and she saw the edge of the duststorm looming over the sandstone walls. Looked like it was coming this way. She now understood why the guard was so stern and why the streets were empty.

When she arrived at the barracks, the doorman, a Po-matoran, let her inside and showed her room. She noticed that some of the other rooms were occupied by matoran, who couldn't possibly be guards. Looked like the local militia was letting homeless inhabitants and visitors from elsewhere stay in the barracks for the duration of the storm.

The room was quite small and practical. One small bed, a table, a chair and a chest were the only pieces of furniture. She stored her items in the chest, drank some water and sat on the bed. Daretaki wondered how long the storm would last..

  10. IC: The Deceiver

Daretaki nodded and then followed the guard. He was surprisingly strict. Had something happened to make the guard so tense? She couldn't know, and she didn't bother to ask. She wasn't planning to stay here for long anyways.

OoC: Is there anything I should know about this town? I read on the wiki that it was the base for the Sentinel Navy, but there wasn't an article for the town itself.

  11. So the Inika is a ship?

That's cool! It will be interesting to see what happens if they arrive on Kentoku. If they really are heading east, that is.

On myös hyvä nähdä että täällä on ainakin yksi suomalainen minun lisäkseni, Toatapio  :P

Olisit kyllä voinut olla vähän luovempi joidenkin hahmojen nimien kanssa :D

  12. IC: The Deceiver

"Yes, sir", she nodded, "I'm planning to wait in this town until the storm ends. Is there an inn with free rooms here?"

She also planned to refill her flask at the town well*, but then she realized that pretending to be a Toa of water might not be a good idea. If she had the ability to turn the humidity in the air into water, why would she need to use the well? Daretaki decided, that she would be a Toa of Crystal. She would be telling the truth for once.

OoC: *I am assuming that Ostia has multiple wells, because any settlement needs a steady supply of fresh water in order to sustain itself. Which makes me wonder, where does Ta-Koro get drinking water from?

Maybe I shouldn't take this game too seriously..

  13. IC: The Deceiver

Daretaki stood at the southern gate of Ostia, looking at the desert in the south. A huge, brown mountain range extended across the horizon.. or so she had thought, before she realized that it was constantly moving. It seemed to be a typical sandstorm. No wonder the caravans encamped around the walls of the town refused to travel to the apparent capital of the region, Po-Koro.

The sun above had blazed heat on her during the day, forcing her to drink all of the water she had. She would have to resupply for tomorrow.

Daretaki turned around and walked to the large bronze gate of Ostia. It was closed, for the sun was setting behind the horizon. She assumed that they were closed in order to keep the shadier type of people and wandering Rahi outside. But she was neither.. at least so it seemed.

She banged on the gate wih her fist. Soon enough the gates were opened slightly, and a tall guard, clearly a Toa, peeked outside.

OoC: Does anyone want to play as a NPC guard? :D

  14. Thanks Tyler, that cleared up many things. I did read the story on the new player page, but it didn't really talk much about what happened to the Toa Maru after they defeated Makuta. I knew about the Akiri as well, which is why I was confused about people talking about the Inika. I guess that isn't important then.

Piraka attack on Onu-Koro? This is going to get interesting..

  15. I'm new here, so i don't know all of the details of the plot and characters..

Who are the Toa Inika in this RPG? Are they the Toa Maru? If not, where are the Maru now? Where is the Mask of Stories? I'm trying to catch up to you guys by reading the wiki and all the other plot info the staff has written, but I'm missing out on those details.

Also, is there really a sand storm in Po-Wahi? I will have to keep that in mind if that's the case. Are there any other things I should know? I already managed to make a Vortixx character start on Kentoku Archipelago..

  16. IC: While Silo and the pessimist prisoner talked with each other, Danaku sat down on his stone bed, thinking what he would do when he would escape. He wasn' t a navigator or a sailor or a ship builder, and the locals refused to believe that there were any other islands (besides Kentoku archipelago) out there beyond the ocean. He was stuck on this isle, and he would never see his home again..

Danaku Ran put these depressing thoughts aside and lied down on the bed and fell asleep quickly. He would not die in a prison, that's for sure.

OoC: Just an update on what Danaku was doing meanwhile. Also, I was told that characters aren't allowed to remember their origins if they're foreigners. Danaku is a temporary exception to this rule, but I wasn't planning to use him for a long time anyway. I'll get rid of him soon rather than retconning his character.

  17. OoC: My ninth post, I'm still new here, etc. Sorry for any mistakes I make

    Shadow in the night

    Darkness in the void

    The blakness between the stars

    Cavern, deep beneath the ground

    Night after day

    Death after Life

    I am Eternal

    For I am Nothing.

She woke up. There was light, sadly. Her canister was open. Fate awaited, she thought to herself. After she had crawled out of the container, she opened the small cargo container. Her sword, poison vials, currency, food and water.. She had forgotten who put it there, but it didn't matter. The past didn't matter, for it was only an illusion. There is only the future.

She observed her surroundings. A sandy and rocky beach that streched to the horizon. Wonderful. No cover from the sun.

She decided to follow the coastline. There might be a settlement on the coast.

    ---

She was right, a walled port-city appeared on the distant horizon after few hours of walking. It was time to put on the disguise before anyone would see her. She walked to a nearby rock, and turned its surface into fine crystal dust. She then poured water into it, turning it into paste*. After that she put it on all of her body armour, and then solidified it into a layer of blue crystal. This took about half an hour and she was exhausted in the end of it. It would take many days for her crystal powers to recover.

She was now Daretaki, a Toa of water. She is a confident warrior, but she also isn't very serious most of the time. A friendly, outgoing person. Wonderful.

She prayed to Makuta to give her strength and the willpower for her to be able to release him from his unearthly prison. She promised to do it, no matter the cost..

OoC: Daretaki is open for interaction. She will arrive in Ostia soon. If I made any mistakes, send me a PM and I'll fix it.

    *This probably isn't possible IRL.
