  1. IC: Danaar Kaas (Mata Nui Technology Emporium, Ta-koro)

"I am Danaar of the Kaas famiy" he said and bowed. "Notorious alchemist, inventor, black sheep of the family, unemployed. The word 'Technology' on your sign roused my interest, but I would like to know what the job involves."

  2. If the tunnel between Ko-koro and the hospital/academy is supposed to be a secret, then why is it mentioned in the first post of Ko-Wahi? I assumed that it was a commonly used path, had no idea it's supposed to be a secret.

Although it does make sence that Dahkapa, my Ice Toa character who has lived in Ko for years and who has friends in the Sanctum Guard, knows about the tunnel. Headcanon problem fixed.

  3. OoC: Wow, I've got a lot of catching up to do..

IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main gates)

Zekev's laser beams were absorbed by the energy shield of the Hau, but it deactivated immediately afterwards. The green Toa whipped the snw with is lash, creating a tiny blizzard among the Skakdi and the dark Toa, as Brontes and the green Toa charged at them. He was just about to join when suddenly, a group of Kane-Ra cavalry retreated past them. They were followed by a group of spear- and swordsmen of the Sanctum Guard. Among them was Captain Jaatava, who seemed to be alright.

As Brontes was fighting, the purple Toa said "The fight for the gate is over, we outnumber you! Go into your city!" Brontes retreated from combat, after blinding the Skakdi with bright light, and looked at Dahkapa. "Dahkapa, he is right. We need to find your friend and get him to the hospital." Dahkapa gestured towards the group of Sanctum Guard, and said "I agree, but do not worry about my friend, he is right there."

"Praise the Archangel! Now we can go loot in his name!"

Dahkapa turned to look at the Skakdi. The green Toa was lying on the ground next to him, still concious. 'Archangel'? Now it's clear that they're the enemy.. 'Loot in his name'? Suddenly, anger started burning inside him, and his heartlight started to glow brighter. "I am a Toa, and my Duty is to protect my people and their homes. You'll enter this city over my dead body, cultist." His voice was stern and cold, and he picked up his cooled down shield from the ground. "You shall not pass."

NPC: Captain Jaatava of the Sanctum Guard

They blew up the gate with explosive powder. He and his men and women were standing on the wall, some standing behind the gate, ready for an assault by siege towers, latters and rams. But they didn't expect the gate to blow up just like that. They were given an order to retreat, and he thought that it was a wise decision. A shrapnel of wood had scratched him in the shoulder, cutting through his protodermic skin like through wet snow, but otherwise he was uninjured. However, three of his men had died in the explosion, and two others slain by the attackers. He knew the names of his soldiers, and every loss hurt. Kide and her humour, Kimpale with his stories, Huivi.. all gone forever. He tried his best not to think about it as they all retreated deeper into the village.

Suddenly, he saw Dahkapa. He was fighting with two other Toa against a Skakdi and a dark Toa. He had almost walked past, ready to leave them behind..

    "Halt!"

His company stopped. "Dahkapa, get out of there! More enemies are coming, we need to retreat to the barracks!", he shouted. Unfortunately, Dahkapa seemed to ignore him and simply stood there..

  4. OoC: Going to try out first person with this new character, let's see how it goes

    IC: Danaar Kaas (Ta-Koro)

1,2,3,4,5,10,15,20,1,2,3.. 23 widgets. 23 widgets. I could buy food for today and tomorrow and for the Day After Tomorrow, but that's it. Great. Not only did I lose my job, but I lost it two days before the payday, right after I had spent my money wisely.. on a new satchel, because the previous one had ripped apart, burned into a crisp and.. well, suffice to say i needed a new one. I could've saved the money, or paid my rent, maybe even deposited it in a bank or something, but I really needed a new satchel, right now. I need something to carry my money with! Hah! Funny, because I barely have any money left. Karzahni, I need a new job.

"Mata Nui Technology Emporium opening soon! Employees wanted!"

Well, I need to start worshipping Karzahni now. What does the word even mean? Some hardcore Skakdi on the streets had used it a lot so I guess I adopted it from them. Wasn't it a name of a demon or something? Whatever, I need a job and I have a chance to get one now. Hooray!

The sign was on the side of a building, that looked to be recently constructed; there wasn't a lot of ash covering the bright stone tiles of the building, and you could actually see something through the windows. I opened the door, and was greeted by a really tall, thin guy. He wasn't a Toa, that's for sure.. hmm, maybe a Lesterin? No, those guys were prettier.. ah, a Vortixx! Is he the boss? I don't know, better ask.

"Um, hello there. I saw that sign, you're looking for someone to work here, right? Well, I need a job."

OoC: He's talking to Lenat. If he wasn't headed to the store in your last post, you can use BZPRPGTime™

  5. IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main gate)

As he approached the wounded Skakdi and the Toa of gravity, Zekev's eyes started to beam a bright light at him. Luckily, the beam hit his protosteel shield which he was holding in front of him.. but he soon realized that it may have been the Skakdi's plan all along, as the shield started to glow from immense heat. Dahkapa yelped in pain, and activated his Kanohi Hau while he threw the gleaming hot shield to the snowy ground.

"You there! I would appreciate your help!" he shouted to the Toa who had appeared a few moments ago, and prepared to run towards the gravity Toa and the Skakdi. His energy shield was temporary, and he didn't want to get scorched. He was certain that Brontes would support him, but if the green Toa could attack them from behind, it would help them tremendously. Mata Nui give me strength.

OoC: Mind me playing as a NPC captain?

NPC: Captain Kallio of the Sactum Guard

It was a great relief to receive help from a Toa of Electricity, who had helped them break through the side door of the Sanctum. But that relief dissipated when he and his friend,a Toa of Ice, left. And despair replaced it when they saw what had happened inside the Sanctum.

    They were too late.

The defenders had been defeated, he and his men could see from a window. The courtyard was in the hands of the enemy, who was now advancing inside the Sactum itself. Cold shivers ran down his spine when he saw the attackers. All hope was lost, and the Sanctum had fallen. The Sanctum Guard had failed at their duty.

"We have failed" he said to his men. His voice was filled with a mixture of grief, despair and disappointment. Kallio looked at his men. All but two of them were Ko-matoran,  the two others were Lesterin mercenaries. Either way, they had no hope against these attackers, who had defeated the protectors of the Sanctum itself. "Retreat. The Sanctum is lost. I must discuss about this with other officers. Now go, before they see us. They are too strong. I do not want your families to lose hope because of your pointless sacrifices. Go."

They left the Sanctum, walking on the same bridge they had used to enter. The situation was grim, but if they could regroup, they might be able to take back the Sanctum. Unless the main gate had fallen, in which case all hope would be lost.

He prayed to the Great Spirit. Only gods could help them now..

  6. IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main gate)

Dahkapa was startled by Brontes suddenly flying up into the air and hitting a lamp post. It took him a while to realize that the purple Toa on the ground was using his gravity powers. "Your move," Brontes said, and Dahkapa prepared his shield and hammer. He is unarmed. This should be easy. I'll have to be a little bit more aggressive now. He sarted to walk quickly towards Weiss, very well aware that he might use his powers of gravity. His own mind was still too tired to use his own ice powers, but he hoped that Brontes could support him.

    OoC: The Deceiver from Po-Wahi

IC: The Deceiver (Somewhere in northern Ko-Wahi)

I have been banished by the Light. But even a child knows, that Light is temporary; it will only exist as long as there is fuel. It pushes back the Void, creating Life and giving birth to the Spirit. From the Spirit, come Unity, Duty and Destiny. But once the fuel runs out, the Light will be extinguished, and Life will end, the Spirit will dissipate, and the Virtues will be forgotten. And what remains? The Void. The Shadows. Nothing. I remain, nothing else, for I am Eternal, because i am Nothing.

I am watching you, child. One day, I shall return. Remember.

She opened her eyes. The sun had already risen. She stood up, and walked out of the cavern. The undead Toa had already left, and only his campfire remained. Luckily he hadn't covered his trails this time. He had already done so a few times before, and probably thought that no one followed him. He was wrong.

She activated her Kanohi of Invisibility, and started to follow the trails, when suddenly she saw something very quick approaching her.  She deactivated her mask, and the figure stopped, mere bio away from her. "Whoa, there! Sorry, I almost slammed into you. Didn't see you there before it was almost too late,"he said and laughed. He was a Toa of Sonics, wearing a Kanohi Kakama. No wonder he had been so fast. "Why are you running through here?" she asked. She didn't have a 'disguise', but it didn't matter. The Toa shrugged and said "I might as well tell you. I'm carrying a message to Onu- and Po-Koro. The Ko-koro main gate has been breached by Makuta's followers, and we need help as soon as possible. Interesting. "Who is leading the attack?", she asked, and the Toa creased his eyebrows. I've been told that Echelon himself has breached the Sanctum, but that might be wrong. Anyways, what is a woman like you doing out he-"

"Look! Someone followed you!" she shouted and pointed at the slopes behind him. Her expression of fear and surprise was convincing, and the Toa turned to look."What? I don't see any-"

    Fool.

With three quick and long leaps, she jumped near him and drew her longsword. As he turned, she cut his left knee, and then his neck. When he fell on the snowy ground, she struck his head with the pommel, and he was knocked unconscious. May your soul return to where it came. Into Nothing. She made sure that the main arteries in the throat were bleeding, and sheathed her sword. She would have to clean it later, but for now, she had to travel to Ko-koro. She could simply follow the Toa's trails. Wonderful.

  7. OoC: Just so you guys know, I assumed that Mortem was outside, because he had tried to escape, so it would be logical for him to get ouside. It wasn't very clear, though, but let's just roll with Mortem being outside. Not that it makes a huge difference.

IC: Dahkapa (Near the Main gate)

Dahkapa walked closer to 'Sir Zekev' and the Toa, and kneeled down to check if they were alive. He reached out his hand to check the Skakdi's pulse..

OoC: Just giving you guys a chance to react while Dahkapa doesn't know if you are alive or not.

  8. OoC: I suppose Silo doesn't have to retcon his post now :P

    IC: Danaku Ran (Onu-Koro tunnel)

    NO.

Other prisoners were caught and put in handcuffs again, Silo among them. He had hoped to escape, but now all plans crumbled to dust.

Why did I want to escape? There is nothing for me out there. This is all pointless. I will never see my home island again..

Two guards approached him, a Toa with a longsword and some small weapon (crude revolver) and a Lesterin with handcuffs.

    I have nothing to lose.

Immediately, he charged, and let out a warcry. One of the guards immediately raised his small weapon and suddenly, it exploded. He could feel something penetrating his shoulder, cutting deep into the flesh. But it didn't stop him. He swung his pickaxe, but the Toa simply took a step back, and he missed. Soon, other guards approached him, and from the shadows the green-eyed 'beast', who had been just a Toa. He ignored them, and jumped at the sword-wielding Toa, and they both collapsed to the ground. They rolled on the floor, and the guards around them didn't strike, too afraid to hit their ally. He managed to take the sword from the Toa, and he immediately stood up and stabbed him in the neck and cracked open his skull with his pickaxe.

Suddenly, he felt enormous pain on the back of his head, and soon the world faded into blackness.

    OoC: Danaku is unconsious

  9. IC: Dahkapa (Ko-Koro gates)

"Brontes, what are you doing?" he asked when the short Toa walked to the seemingly dead Skakdi. Suddenly, someone appeared from behind a corner, and stumbled on the Skakdi. "Sir Zekev, what happened?", he said. Brontes started to charge up an electric bolt, and Dahkapa immediately ran closer to him. "Brontes, what are you doing again? Do you know if he is friend or foe?"

  10. OoC: Silo, don't be in such a hurry. How did the guards get past the.. green eyed thing? I think we'll have to deal with this creature first.

    IC: Danaku Ran (Onu-Koro tunnel)

    What is happening?

    What is that thing?

Danaku stared at the creature. It looked strange, it's green, bright eyes glowing in it's chest. A demon, sent to punish them? A machine, ready to take them back to the prison? He couldn't know. Other prisoners around him started to panic, and all hope they had just a moment ago was gone.

    No.

"Stand back, beast, or you'll get a new hole to breathe with!" he said and raised his pickaxe threateningly. "You will not stand in the way of our freedom!"

I laugh at the face of death, he thought.

  11. IC: Danaku Ran (Onu-Koro tunnel)

What is going on?, he thought before he fell on the ground. It didn't hurt much, luckily. The guards however.. he tried not to look at the mess. "So these are your powers? Impressive." He picked up his pickaxe. Again, he wasn't a true warrior, but he had received training for a long time when he was younger. He took keys from the ugly mess that used to be a guard, and unlocked the shackles on his and Silo's legs and arms. "There. Now, we must get out of here quick. Some help would be appreciated". He looked at the other prisoners, scattered around and afraid, and spoke loudly:

"Now, fellow prisoners, is our time to escape and be free again. I will release you from your constraints if you promise to help us. Silo here needs his mask, and we could do with better weapons than these pickaxes. And if you are afraid of failure, afraid of being caught and punished, afraid of dying, I say that the risk is worth taking. Do you want to be back home again? Do you want to see your family again? Do you want to be free?! Then follow us, and I promise that we will keep you safe! You saw what Silo can do! The guards cannot stop us, if we work together and help Silo to get back his mask! Now, who will come?"

Danaku took a deep breath. About three quarters of the prisoners stepped forward. Most of them were matoran. Good enough, I suppose, he thought and after releasing them he started to move onwards, Silo right behind him. "I know how tiresome it is to be without a mask. I've even heard that you can die if you are without the mask for too long." He stopped suddenly, and asked "Do you know where the mask is, actually? If you do, lead the way." They could hear guards running in the distance..

OoC: on mobile, will fix color and italics tomorrow

  12. IC: Dahkapa (Outside the Sanctum)

"Good job", he said to Brontes and patted him on the shoulder. "Now, let's get inside and see.."

Suddenly, the earth was shaken and a loud explosion could be heard in the distance. "What was that?" he said nervously. This couldn't be good. Soon, a black and grey pillar of smoke rose to the sky, and it seemed to be coming from the main gate. He tried his best to remain calm, and considered his next move. "Brontes, I think the main gate might've been breached. One of my friends is there, and he might be in danger. Will you come with me?" Meanwhile the guards had already entered the Sanctum, ready to ambush the attackers.

  13. OoC: Sure

IC: Dahkapa (Underground passage between Ko-Koro and the Academy/Hospital)

Electricity. Could be very useful, Dahkapa thought. "This tunnel is about one kio* long. It will take a while", he answered to Brontes' question.

    ---

Half an hour later, they emerged from the passage. They then kept walking until they reached the Sanctum. The streets were empty, and eerily quiet, but some sounds of battle could be heard from the distance every now and then. Soon, they arrived at the chasm that surrounded the Sanctum. The citadel itself had collapsed, and the main bridge was shattered. However, some other, smaller bridges were still there, although locked doors in the walls of the Sanctum blocked the passage. They could see a group of Sanctum Guards trying to breach one of the doors. Strange, doesn't the Guard have keys to them? They crossed the bridge, and some of the guards turned to look at them. "At ease, we are on your side. Why can't you get through the door?" he asked, and one of them answered "These doords can only be opened from the inside. They are usually locked, because we only use the main bridge these days. Well, we used to. Now we can't get inside without alarming the attackers. We've been trying to breach through it with force, but it isn't working. Could you help us?"

Dahkapa rubbed his chin, trying to figure out something. "If we can, we will. Any ideas, Brontes?"

    OoC: *0,85 miles, 1,35 kilometres

  14. IC: Danku Ran (Onu-Koro tunnel)

This was shameful. Peasants did the work. They mined the caverns. Nobles lead the people, protected them, upheld order and peace. They didn't dig holes in the ground.

Danaku Ran took a deep breath and swung his pickaxe again at the cavern walls. The pick simply glanced off. He grunted, and raised his pick high and brought it back own, this time with a better angle. Some of the stone shattered and rolled on the floor. The fracture was tiny.

He threw his pickaxe on the ground and sat down. This was ridiculous. It would take ages to mine out this tunnel. It was pointless.

A Toa guard yelled at him, ordering him to get back to work. Danaku ignored him, and the guard walked near him with long steps. "I said, get back to work!"

He glanced to his sides. A few other prisoners, including Silo, looked at them. The guard was staring at him, standing rather close. he was angry. Then, Danaku stood up, took the pickaxe and jammed it into the guard's mask, through the protodermic metal skull. The guard screamed in agony, and in an instant, five other guards were rushing towards him. Three of them were Toa.

Nobles were trained to fight since childhood. They didn't dig holes, they slew.

  15. IC: Dahkapa (Underground passage between Ko-Koro and the Academy/Hospital)

Dahkapa looked at the Toa. He wore the Kanohi Hau, like he did. On his side, he had a sword in a scabbard, and a shield strapped to his back. He was short, but could be helpful. "What is your Element? My mind is too tired after a battle, and I can't use my own powers effectively. I can still fight with this", he patted the long war hammer that was strapped to his belt, "so  can deal with any close combat. My body still has strength. You could support me with your powers."

  16. OoC: Tiragath, Dahkapa is going through a mile-long underground passage that I assume leads inside the walls of Ko-koro, just so you know

IC: Dahkapa (Underground passage between Ko-Koro and the Academy/Hospital)

Dahkapa's steps echoed in the passage, but soon he could hear the echoes of an another pair of legs from behind. He turned around, and saw Brontes. He looked at him for a moment, and then asked "Are you coming with me to the Sanctum?", and his voice echoed in the icy passage. Brontes was still quite far away, but he was certain that he could hear him.
