  1. OOC: Where exactly is the action at in the mission regarding Mechna? I'm trying to figure out how to get Shellshredder involved.
  2. IC: Shellshredder- The Grunge. The lone figure strode the streets, deciding on a course of action. Several, mistaking him for some automatonic hunk of walking trash, accosted him, only to find out the hard way that getting near him was a bad idea. He had no qualms for draining their life away, for what more were they than walking shells, attempting to survive among other walking shells? OOC: Shellshredder open for interaction.
  3. OOC: @Fishers: Did you miss this?
  4. Is is just me, or is that 2015 Tahu in Lava Beast's background?
  5. I hope I'm not becoming annoying with the multiple profile attempts. The bolded are changes. Hopefully this will fix the problem... Name: Shellshredder Affilation: Villain While not designed to actually fit someone inside of him, Shellshredder is, in essence, a walking shell. Very strangely, he seems to have no inner workings, not even a central processor or power source, meaning he has no vitals that can be damaged and he has no energy that can be detected as a lifeform. (EDIT: Shellshredder now CAN get his parts replaced, but while replacement parts do not require inner workings, thus making the issue of replacing them easier, he cannot simply assimilate a scrap pile into a new arm) Thus, puncture based weapons will be rather ineffective against him. On the other hand, his hollowness means that impact damage is highly effective against him and he can crumple significantly easier than others. This does not affect his strength, however, which is good as any’s. As far as his senses go, he only has four of the five base senses, not having taste as he is unable to consume anything. His senses are slightly more enhanced than others and are unable to overwhelm him/cause him pain, but this doesn’t mean that you can’t blind/deafen him. Unlike others, however, he has no scanning systems whatsoever, giving him a disadvantage against those capable of doing sensor sweeps such as Heroes. His movement is somewhat haphazard and erratic, making him seem even more like a zombie. However, this doesn't mean he is hampered in any way, sometimes catching people off guard with his sudden bursts of speed, which, while nothing spectacular, is more than his drunken gait would suggest. As far as personality goes, he generally meets everything with indifference, fearing none, impressed by none, and almost incapable of holding a grudge due to his excessive apathy towards all. He tends to speak of things that make little to no sense, however, buried beneath his speaking in riddles and strange allusions to things that couldn't have possibly happened is an impressive intellect. Regenisis- Rest in pieces... literally. Hunger/Diffusion- Able to drain energy on touch, this will generally result in the weakening of whatever part he's touching within the first several seconds, followed later by the part going limp and the effect spreading throughout the body and causing it to go limp. To this extent it only affects more external energy, such as that powering motor movements and sensors, maybe even processors as well. However, up to this point it is short term and will do no damage in the long run, generally only paralyzing or stunning them and not overly affecting their power supply on a large scale (Note: Whatever part he's touching is the first affected, so grabbing someone's head in an armlock will knock someone out far quicker than shaking hands with him). While he can take it farther, for instance damaging someone's memory or processing or draining them completely, this would take far too long to be practical on someone such as a hero and he doesn't consider it worth his time. If he is in direct contact with energy itself, such as an energy shield, his hunger powers are considerably stronger on said energy, allowing him to push his way through energy walls/force fields (the difficulty with which he can do this depends on the force field and its power output, shields that use more power would take longer for him to push through, and if they're high powered enough he won't be able to do it) While his inner workings, if he has any, appear to run on nothing, in reality he is simply able to sustain himself with ease, draining unsuspecting victims of their energy to perk himself up. While he seems to be able to make do with little energy, he tends to lurk in areas where there are both plenty of potential victims and plenty of places to hide. Thus, the Grunge fits him perfectly. Inertness- His body is practically an energy vacuum, any energy poured into it being shunted into oblivion. Thus, due to his strange nature, EMP’s and electric based attacks are generally worthless, this does not mean that he is impervious to magnetic based powers, however. Some other things may not be effective on him either, for instance, lifeform scanners likely won't detect him due to his lack of energy. (Of course, one might be able to detect him if the searched for the lack of energy...) Appearance: Average height, black and silver appearance, while appearing heavily armored, as mentioned above this partially disguises his hollow bearing. His helmet looks not unlike this, except that it's black in addition to silver and is blankly hollow where the eyes should be. https://www.flickr.c...07/22622935086/ Bio: No one knows when this husk of a being first appeared. For the most part he stayed in the shadows, recovering from some malady unseen to others. As he began to consider things other than self survival, he suddenly realized how purposeless his former life was. There was no point in seeking revenge on the one who broke him and there was nothing left of his former world, or, at least, there wasn't going to be. Thus, he started the life of crime. No one in their right mind would tread anywhere near him and he frankly didn't see the point of being 'nice'. Claiming affiliation with none, his sense of morals is practically nonexistent and he will ally with both Hero and Villain alike when he deems it necessary, although he almost always works with criminals, as when he decides to do something 'productive', it generally isn't for everyone's best interests. 6. SkullShredder not approved due to having too many powers and basically being invulnerable still. Hmm.... Maybe I should ditch the regenisis...
  7. OOC: Should I be worried that my profile attempt is at least four times this size?
  8. Welp, here's hoping I didn't miss anything important this time around. If he's still too overpowered... sorry, I'll try again. :| Name: Shellshredder Affilation: Villain While not designed to actually fit someone inside of him, Shellshredder is, in essence, a walking shell. Regenisis- His regenerational abilities allow him to heal damage done and even pull himself back together if he is blown into pieces. However, this can take anywhere from several seconds to several minutes to hours or even days depending on the damage done and/or how far he’s scattered. Minor damage, such as small puncture wounds or small dents, tends to heal far more quickly and can generally repair in seconds. Mashing him into a pile of crumpled metal, on the other hand, could render him worthless for hours or even days. Repeatedly damaging him, especially in the same place, will drastically slow down the healing process in general. If something such as a limb is lost for good, say vaporized or buried beyond recovery, he will eventually grow a replacement. While it is possible to kill him, destroying at least most of his parts or scattering him into oblivion, it is generally easier to simply damage him enough so that he is little more than a defenseless scrapheap or scattering his parts all over town. That is, unless you’re on top of a volcano or something... (I hope I nerfed this enough, sorry if I didn't... :\) Hunger/Diffusion- Able to drain energy on touch, this will generally result in the weakening of whatever part he's touching within the first several seconds, followed later by the part going limp and the effect spreading throughout the body and causing it to go limp. If too powerful I can remove this trait entirely) Endurance- His unique nature causes him to have no need for recharging. (If too powerful, nerf by replacing this with sustainable via draining other’s energy, this includes any random person he finds on the street) Energy Resistance- Resulting from the hunger power, energy based attacks deal slightly less damage against him than otherwise, although the resistance varies depending on the weapon (weapons that deal more impact will generally do more damage than ones purely heat based). (Of course, one might be able to detect him if the searched the the lack of energy...) One of the major disadvantages that comes with this trait is that he is unable to simply replace body parts, as they would be incompatible and rendered nonfunctional in seconds. Thus, if someone runs off with his arm and destroys it, he's going to have to wait until it grows back. 9. Still try to rob it with my group of overpowered MOC's. If there was a crossover between HF and Bionicle and the Toa got quaza powered ironman like suits...
  10. Well, it isn't that bad, the power limit is simply far higher, giving more room to make characters with significantly more power. And since everyone is powerful there, then no one is. I'm just going to say that the above applies to this also, Ye Olde Bio RP is not based on rules nearly so much as on common sense, meaning you can make all kinds of characters provided they're reasonable. Just because the power limit's much higher in the RP doesn't mean that they're invincible, they're simply made for a higher level of combat. I didn't really make that clear, so my bad. I never intended to one hit touch disable people, it would be more similar to choking someone, they're going to be strangled if they don't do anything but at least at the beginning you can still move and whatnot. I could probably write that better but meh it's late. Yeah, I'll work on this. Thank you for the advice! I hope to be terrorizing random NPC's on the streets to feed my ego and make Shellshredder look tough Heroes before too long.
  11. OOC: G'day! I gotta say, you've made a good choice joining HF RPG, but by the looks of your profile, LMB seems to do RPGs in a slightly different style to HF RPG. If it's all right, I'll try and take you through some of the issues. Don't worry, you're not the first nor the last to need changes, especially for your character's issues. I'll start at the start of the profile and head down. Firstly, according to details in the latter part of the profile, your character would most definitely be a Villain. There's three main groups in the HF RPG: Hero, Villain and Civilian. Make a character that's a Hero? They're a Hero. Make a character that's a criminal? That's a villain. Make someone who is neither of these things, like a Mission Manager or a janitor or anything like that? That's a civilian. There's no neutral, that'd fall under "civilian", and your character, being someone involved in crime, is deffo a villain. Next, the powers. I'm sorry to say that I'm pretty sure they would be considered overpowered in the scope of the RPG. This is a thing that a lot of people have trouble with, so do not feel bad in the slightest! It can be a tricky thing to figure out. The first power, the regenerating one, would most certainly be considered overpowered. There is exactly one character with regeneration powers on level with him, and that character is the GM's appointed Super Powerful Villain. Even then, that guy can be destroyed completely. The regeneration power needs to be seriously toned down, to give other players the chance for a fair fight. I'd also like to add that grabbing replacement parts is pretty much a given, since your character seems to be a robot. Almost all robotic characters have no problems replacing parts. The hunger power, I'd consider less overpowered, but still very much too powerful for this RPG. It renders a being unconscious "within seconds", which could be an instakill power for Heroes (they need energy in their cores to live, according to the show, and cannot be just charged up again when it is completely depleted) and definitely a very annoying power RPG-wise. Even if a character were to move away after just a second, the rate of power intake suggests they'd have lost a lot of power. Extending the rate of effect to take longer would probably be ideal. Endurance, I get you're going for a zombie deal, so there's less of an issue for "never seen recharging". But, the resistance to EMPs and an aforementioned immunity to high-energy weaponry could almost be considered another power. I have a character with an immunity to energy blasts and the like, so it's not an overpowered concept in and of itself, but it would probably be another power. Being undetectable to technology would be yet another power. I understand that it's all related to the zombie deal and energy resistance is related to the hunger power, but since it's kind of a big deal for a power (in the case of energy immunity). You need to add that detail to the power section, at least. At this point, he has about 5 powers, some of which are overpowered. Lastly, not an issue, but I'm fairly certain your character can start in the Grunge. It's a place on a villain planet, after all. C: I hope I didn't come off as too rough! It's a cool character concept, and you've done well for a first character, but Shellshredder does need some changes. Fishers, the GM of this RPG, will probably be along sometime today, and she can give you more specific changes that need to be made. I might have gotten some details wrong, after all. ~ IC: Ken Render - With Forticus and Rider "Looks like," he said. He flexed his shoulders under Forticus' arm and started trekking over. Haha, thanks. I come from the Old Bionicle Roleplay in the LMB's, where we have NPC's more dangerous than most characters here. So if something of mine's overpowered, now you know why. I see. I was mainly meaning his overall affiliation, but I getcha. Easy fix. I tried to balance the regen power out, but I guess I tend to go for overpowered characters in general. I will say that while the extent of the power is large, its overall speed is not the greatest excluding minor things such as small dents. So it could take several seconds to actually reattach something. Also, his overall hollowness means (I probably should have mentioned this) that he's less resistant to impact related attacks. I added the disadvantage of being unable to get replacement limbs to help balance the regen power out, so while he is able to reattach parts of him easily and fix minor damage in a short time, he is unable to simply replace his body parts like others, meaning that if someone rips his arm off and runs off with it and he can't pull it back, he's going to be without an arm for a while. When I mean unconscious I mean that they're drained enough that their non-core functions are forced to shut down for a short period of time, mainly affecting external functions as they are what he's most likely touching in combat, making the effect very short term in consequence. (I probably should have said paralyzed instead of unconscious, my bad) It would take considerably far longer to actually drain someone completely. And in his defense, all he has are his bare fists and hunger is the only way he can really do damage. But yeah, this is probably something to tone down, particularly regarding the energy resistance, I could tone this down to partial resistance. Hmm, I see. I tend to try and make complicated characters with very blurred lines between powers and natural traits, with powers overlapping in various ways such as the above. So... I don't know, I'll try and figure it out. Not entirely undetectable to technology, while whatever he's running on is undetectable, this simply means that energy and temperature sensors would not pick it up, this would not prevent his detection via eyesight, radar, and the like. Although, I suppose that his hunger trait might make the abnormal lack of energy detectable. I don't know, but this only makes him undetectable to certain scanners, so this hopefully is not as major as it seems. Yayz I don't have to make a ship just yet. On the contrary, your insight is enlightening. I expected I would go over the OP limit on my first try regardless of what I did and I wanted to see how a complicated character power-wise would be received.
  12. Hi everyone. I've been roleplaying on the LMB's for over two years now and I decided this looked interesting enough to steal more of my time. I haven't roleplayed here before, so if I'm doing something out of line please let me know. Name: Shellshredder Affiliation: Neutral/Villian Powers: Regenesis- Having unique regenerational abilities, he is capable of pulling himself back together even if he is blown into hundreds of pieces. He is also capable of replacing parts if they are utterly destroyed, as if thrown into a star or something. However, this takes time and he cannot simply get replacement or parts. (Please note that while this makes it almost impossible to destroy him permanently, the more damaged he is, the longer it takes him to pull back together, especially if you scatter his parts all across town) Hunger/Diffusion- Capable of draining energy on touch, he can render a foe unconscious in seconds if allowed to do so unhindered. High energy weapons, such as plasma or lightning weapons, also deal little damage to his form. However, he is unable to simply get replacement limbs due to this trait, as they would simply shut down completely upon being connected to him. He seems to be an utter vacuum for energy, any sucked into him shunted into oblivion, by means unknown. Parts that are disconnected from the main body are unable to utilize this power (so he can't just throw his hand at someone and shut them down =P ). Endurance- Due to his most strange nature, he doesn't appear to run on any source of known energy and never has been seen recharging. Due to his unique physiology, weapons such as EMP's are ineffective on him. Appearance/Description: Shellshredder looks, from all appearances, as if he is undead. Very strangely, he seems to have no power source, nor is there any trace of energy in his form detectable to current technology. His body appears to have no central processor or any real inner workings, appearing to be little more than a lifeless shell, the Hero Factory equivalent of a zombie. His head resembles the Mask of the Soulless, an artifact found only in ancient legends. However, it appears to only be a makeshift recreation of it, parts that should be glowing are nothing more than a blank emptiness and its appearance black and silver. His body is primarily silver and black, of average size. While he appears heavily armored, he is little more than a shell, giving him a most unusual appearance. Legendary Mask of the Soulless, the legend of which Shellshredder based his head/helmet's design upon: https://www.flickr.com/photos/134131110@N07/22622935086/ Bio: No one knows when this husk of a being first appeared. 13. It turns out spectacular, because that would be awesome.... just kidding, the Makuta possess the Throwbots and they become the villains for 2017. HF actually turned out good, with much more of its potential used and its plot was far more consistent.
  14. I'm tempted to say that I want them to shrink down the price of the medium sized sets after the end of Bionicle to 13$. Granted, they wouldn't be as fabulous, but the way the prices for the different sized sets keep increasing over the years is somewhat concerning. Then again, I may not like it. I don't know, just a thought.
  15. Abandon all sense of canonocity and unleash fanon havoc along with as many new/unused colors as I could get away with. If Dr. Seuss wrote a Bionicle story, you would...
  16. I suppose I might as well try and hope I can keep my activity up through the whole thing. Spot 26.
  17. Develop something much more dangerous that's completely fanon. If Umarak the Destroyer invited you to a picnic, you would...
  18. Gotta say, I love the job they've done on the Destroyer. It's an epic contrast to the slender hunter lurking in the shadows to the massive super powered annihilation machine. While Lyichir's point makes sense on the trans. neon green for him... I still would have liked yellow. He has enough parts in the debated color to deck out someone's collection with them. Ekimu's color scheme looks completely off balance... for a mere Toa. But Ekimu is not a mere Toa, he looks like he's a Toa on steroids, so as far as looks are concerned, I'm fine with him. However, since he's in two of the colors I care least about getting more and he doesn't hold the same nostalgic appeal as Kopaka ( ), I'll probably wind up passing. That and whatever budget I have would be spent on characters that have parts I want more, you know. Storm Beast looks interesting, I must say the dark blue parts are a sight for sore eyes. But, you know, budget. Lava Beast is quite peculiar in my opinion. His legs are horribly short, his head's built like a Minotaur, which feel like a kind of old gimmick, I don't see the shadow trap thing anywhere on him (he may have one, I can't tell), and he has these weird blade/wing things on his hands, which have gun-metal (or black, can't tell) instead of silver. In short, this guy has my attention, whether for better or worse. ...I don't have an opinion on Quake Beast yet.
