  1. After building most of the new sets, (all save for 2 protectors), I must say that I really like CCBS. I never bought any of the hero factory sets so this is my first exposure to the system. I have a question for those who own both the 2015 Bionicle sets and hero factory sets. Minus the gears, how similar are the Bionicle sets to Hero Factory? Are any of the Hero Factory sets worth getting?
  2. Wasn't this about 2015? Not 2006. Anyways...I think the video leaks are what's making 2015 seemed rushed.
  3. I found a Vorahk at a CVS a while back.
  4. I added a link. It shows what my MOC is supposed to be.
  5. I do apologize for the blurry pics (my camera is very, very poor quality)
  6. I prefer to display him in spider mode, I just figured it'd be cool to make something that can pull off both.
  7. The big bad dude of MLP: FIM's season 4 finale in bonkle form, because why not? http://m.imgur.com/a/KX6se EDIT: Added a reference pic for those who don't know who he is. http://m.imgur.com/LjMM0Wx
  8. Just a warning, this MOC isn't pretty. It wasn't meant to be. The idea was to create a character that looked like it was a kitbash of several other sets (which MOCing is when you really think about). Apostrofi was the result of a desperate attempt of the Ignika to evade capture. Taking note of those who had fallen trying to claim it and the brave, but foolish, soul trying to claim it now, the mask created..well...it. It was several fallen bodies fused together to form one entity. It made quick work of the poor, and still foolish, soul. It now guards its creator, attacking anything and everything that crosses its path. It is known as...Apostrofi. (The Greek word for abomination) http://m.imgur.com/a/MG7oX
  9. I've heard people say how LOSS is out of scale...but looking at the recently released (and removed) videos, I've noticed that Onua isn't exactly to the same scale as his set. Any thoughts? What size do you prefer? Set? The animations? Also I guess this'd be the topic to talk about any other scale issues with the sets and animations. EDIT: added an album that shows the comparisons between set and animation http://imgur.com/a/4Q9HT
  10. Because leg articulation isn't important in an insect toy. If you were a child playing with this, would you rather spend your time having to move and re-position each leg while you're making him crawl on the ground? Wouldn't you want a tail function? Also, children don't care about how "clunky" the tail looks. To them, it's still a stinger and the fact that it has a function is awesome. You literally can't understand these sets if you use a collectors mind set. These aren't going to be $100-extra-posable-no-gap-collectors-figures. They're toys, and ultimately the thing that factors into whether they're good or not is if they can be played with and do their role correctly in a child's eyes. Way too many people fail to realize this.
  11. I love it. There needs to be a baby villager for every element.
  12. You do realize we have around five minutes of content to work off of. Only 3 vids have been released. We know almost nothing story-wise. There's really no room to make assumptions of the villagers who have had, what, maybe a couple MINUTES of development?
  13. just to be sure here: do you mean Atlantis vibes besides being a city underwater? like, actual Greek-inspired motifs? Yeah, there were several symbols in the background that looked like they could be Greek (they aren't, as I actually am part Greek and I don't recognize any of them). Also, there were some stone structures that looked like they could be Greek.
  14. So I was playing the new mobile game, and I do not know how accurate that game will be but, the water village has got some serious Atlantis vibes.
  15. I've found a way too, except with the actual PoF http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/16550-two-kua/
  16. I get a Greek Spartan vibe from Kopaka now that I actually have him in hand.
  17. He's the most well known Toa, plus that mata are the very first Bionicle sets.
  18. Question for everybody who own the sets. How stiff are your gears? I have Lewa and Tahu, and both have rather loose gears. They tend to fall back down due to gravity, though only if their arms are directly perpendicular to their bodies. Tahu's I can forgive, since he only has two friction gears holding up two heavy swords. Lewa's I do not understand, considering he has FOUR friction gears. His arms were fine, at first, but now they can barely hold a pose that is dynamic. EDIT: Just to clarify, it's nowhere near the looseness of gears of old, but it's not exactly tight.
  19. Like I said, I'd love to see somebody do their own version. (him, Tahu, and Lewa are the only guys I have who use the CCBS system, unfortunately)
  20. I was surprised with a gift today: the Protector of Fire and Tahu. Since I've seen MANY people talk about the little fire villager from the first bionicle webisode, and considering the fact that just about everyone wants a set of him, I figured I'd make my own. He's essentially just a shrunk down Protector of fire, (really simple, I mean...he uses only the parts included with the protector of fire. I invite anyone to make a better looking Two-Kua, I'd love to see it.) View with and without armor (I prefer without...also back view) https://www.flickr.com/photos/x75/15940209047/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/x75/15503625614/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/x75/15938655780/ Oh my, what has our favorite little fire villager stumbled upon? https://www.flickr.com/photos/x75/16125219422/ SWEET MOTHER OF EKIMU NO!!! https://www.flickr.com/photos/x75/15940208687/ Tahu to the Rescue https://www.flickr.com/photos/x75/15940208537/ Best buds. https://www.flickr.com/photos/x75/15938527158/
  21. The new Bionicle sets are the only CCBS sets I own
  22. I received both princesses for Christmas, and I must agree with you. My hopes was for a celestia the size of the large electronic brushable one, but alas, my dreams were crushed. Her molding is superb, however and it's still a perfect representation of Tia even if she's out of scale. Plus, she's Tia, I can't NOT love her.
  23. Thanks. I do in fact have Lewa. He was a Christmas present from my folks :3
