  1. IC: "It's..... complicated, though I know that answer alone would never satisfy you. I could've.... come back, yeah.... but it would've served little purpose: I'm not who you want me to be. I wish I could be, but I'm just... not..." Silver's initial thrill at seeing Sluice again was quickly gutted and his gaze shifted off the the empty ground, staring at nothing ashamedly."Indeed, you aren't" Mastermind punctuated the claim with a wristblade, swinging it upwards and stabbing it through the distracted psychic's ribcage with a sickening hiss of energy as the end peirced out the back of his cloak. Only a rumble of thunder broke the shocked silence: Silver's words caught in his throat silently, staring down at the blade within him as Mastermind ripped it back out in a shower of dark liquid. All this happened in barely three seconds, the mutant looking incredibly satisfied with himself as Silver fell to his knees as the liquid continued to spill from the wound, running down his supersuit. "Not anymore, at least"He immediatly threw up a barrier around himself to defend from the pratically-assured counterattack, especially from Sluice: after all she had witnessed a similar scene before when Technax used her as bait to draw Silver into a five on one conflict, then made a target of her to keep the psychic from properly assaulting Technax himself; the only difference was the injury Technax inflicted had spared Silver's life. This one would surely not."W-Why?""Because I know full well who you really are, and time is up for this ridiculous cherade" Mastermind replied coldly, Silver struggling to glance in Sluice's direction as another clap of thunder rumbled overhead. Only his fading aura stood out in the shadows of his hood, but soon even they began to flicker... then started to change completely."I-I'm so-....sor-... s-s-sorry"OOC: If you know what's going to happen next IC before I post it then I applaud your sleuthing skills :)On the plus side, that eye-scalding Cyan-on-white text will be gone next post!
  2. OOC: I was almost expecting lovebubbles to spring all around her as she calls "~Silver-chaaaaaaan!~". I need to cut down on anime...IC: "I've been wondering what you'd been up to...""Weeeeeell I don't like to make a scene personally, but wow, I mean... I didn't think bad guys could have fashion sense as bad as I do.... but God! At least throw on some pants!" Silver's banter succedded in enraging Mastermind, who hurled a psychic orb in his direction that was met in turn by a psychic blast causing a signifigant explosion of energy. Another blast followed the first, Mastermind countering with a barrier around his person only to cry out in pain as Fellwyd's re-returned disc impacted into the back of the barrier and caused the whole thing to shatter along with the disc: he had focused all his defence in the front leaving a gaping hole in the rear. Moving more rapidly than he ever seemed to Silver was quick to race through the downed shield and slug Mastermind hard across the face, which sent the mutant to the ground almost instantly."You'll pay for this!" he spat fiercely, rolling over to find he was not in a good position for vegence right now with three Superheroes ready to put him down again."Don't bet on it.... seriously I'm like.... pretty much broke, sorry. Now don't move" Silver reinforced his proposal by hovering the end of his wristblade over Mastermind's neck before glancing back at the others. "You, the um.... space-looking person I don't know but I'm guessing you're friendly and possibly League... and as for you, Miss... I know I've seen you somewhere before... you're very familar..." the psychic mused aloud, studying the aquakinetic's supersuit and shape intently... he was either hoping way too hard or he'd SEEN that exact feminine frame before. It took him a few more seconds, but eventually Silver just came out and said what he was thinking:".... don't tell me Sluice is hiding under all that fancy headgear somewhere...."OOC: Hmmm, this doesn't seem quite right now does it! I guess you've forgotten Rule 1: The Doctor Transairion lies
  3. Well you see, some young Las Vegas hooligans roughed up the streetlight before arrived... Also I just typed half-to-3/4 of an IC, hit backspace key to erase some spaces and it backed my web browser, erasing my post from existance. >_<IC: Mastermind wasn't at all concerned with Fellwyd's attack, mockingly slowing it to a stop just before it reached him as he seized control via telekinesis and just sent it in reverse, hoping it would sink into the alien's gut. He was still pretty sore about getting his finger broke. A much bigger threat was approaching, Mastermind struggling to sense his exact location but... he was there, somewhere. But Sluice was also a factor still very much in play."Amassing a waterspout of liquid against someone who shares Silver's memories, and thus his phobia of swimming... impressive. But I've had a long time to face my fears..." Mastermind called up to her as he gestured towards her waterspout: surely orbs and blasts would only displace some of the water, and he couldn't telekinetically grab all that could he? But Mastermind was more cunning that he looked, forming a domed shield over the gaping hole in the concrete her supply of water was spurting forth from. Her waterguzzling waterspout now lacked an immediate source to support it, and trying to re-establish a connection by breaking through the shield befoe she plummeted would be all but impossible. The mutant took full advantage of the chaos thrown into her plan, sending his buzzsaw soaring high into the air and actively avoiding her icy shields, sending it straight at her until....RRRRRRRIIIIIIIMastermind's buzzsaw impacted into another, completely indentical buzzsaw with a horrible grinding of energy until both were deflected away from one another. This new buzzsaw was quickly followed by a second, which spun towards Mastermind only to veer off to the side at the last second and allow a psychic blast through instead, sending the Supervillian sprawling and cursing at falling for the misdirection."Now I admit times have changed, but throwing energy blades around is still no way to treat a lady" a cloaked figure called from a nearby rooftop, leaping down to the street with a little assistance from telekinesis. His hood was up, but everything else from the cloak, the voice even to the aura of the wristblade extending from his arm were all the same... it was like he hadn't changed one bit.OOC: He's back baby
  4. OOC: What you did there... I see it IC: Mastermind's buzzsaw surged onwards, taking on each ice shield headon and tearing through heedless of the fact it slowed its progress considerably. The mutant seemed to be betting creating shield after shield would wear her out faster than smashing through them would wear him out, but he was also one to stack the odds in his favour: forming a psychic orb in his palm he blasted it towards the ground in the path he believed Sluice was taking to give her even more to worry about."Don't think I've forgotten about you, either" Mastermind snarled in Fellwyd's direction, glancing towards one of the damaged streetlights and telekinetically ripping it from the ground. He seemed to want Fellwyd to become very well aqquainted with human lighting structures since the streetlight was soon sent flying in the alien's direction, followed by a second. Having learned from his early encounter, the mutant definatly seemed to be trying to make them keep their distance this time, a range where most psychics had an advantage.
  5. OOC: Fellwyd with a busted communicator? Now won't that be fun! XDIC: "The most believable performance is a real one, is it not?" Mastermind retorted after giving an angry hiss when he was splashed: it wasn't exactly painful but getting dumped with freezing cold liquid at night was unpleasant to say the least. With Fellwyd sprawled on the ground Mastermind released his grip on the alien, turning to face Sluice instead and forming a psychic buzzsaw in the air behind him. "Let's see if Abyss's utter disregard for the life of her opponent really makes her the better fighter...." he mused, gesturing with his palm to send the buzzsaw whirling in the heroine's direction."Sluice I'm tracking... something headed your way. It might be Silver but the genetic signature I'm reading doesn't entirely match what it should be... it's not quite right" Esp chimed in Sluice's helmet to provide yet another helpful distraction, though there was nothing out of the ordinary approaching from the shadows... but apparently whatever she detected was on the way.
  6. Oops, I did that early on and now I've confused you? I'd be less sorry if you didn't actually break Mastermind's finger, I'll bop you one for that! Speaking of such...IC: "Yes, and losing him isn't an option I can allow... he could dissappear for weeks, months, or even longer and we might not be able to track him down again. But as for creating a lot of noise... gladly" Mastermind whirled towards Fellwyd as gestured with his palm, grabbing the alien in a telekinetic grip and tossing him especially roughly into a streetlight. Mastermind hadn't just been pondering his miserable existance since his capture, he was smart enough to focus on replenishing his vast power reserves in case of another conflict: acting powerless easily led them into a false sense of security that they could do as they pleased with him. "Do you REALLY think I'd let you get away with breaking bone?!" he seethed, hurling Fellwyd towards another streetlight. Technically Mastermind was following the plan and creating a ruckus, but he was also enthusiastically wailing on the alien rather roughly in the process.... at least it was going to seem realistic all right!OOC: *Bop's you one*
  7. OOC: I was automatically going to reply "what PM's?", but I actually checked and somehow I do have 2 whole messages I've never seen before today... it's really odd that I missed them, since normally I read as soon as I get them (there's a giant red symbol showing when I have something new), and somehow I didn't see it twice? Maybe I'm going blind since they were sent quite some time ago as well...And hey, shouldn't Gadgeteer start his transformation sequence with a loud "Gadgeteer, Maximize!" ?IC: Well I hope for our sake Dr Cole wasn't entirely correct in his diagnosis: Abyss in any form is not what I want to work with Esp thought to herself as Sluice began to exit, holding onto the hope she'd gone to see some kind of quack. Trying to prevent extinction of a species with a mentally unstable female human who was only going to get more unpleasant, more often? She'd rather try the gene-splicing route in one of her tanks..."Ugh.... let's just get this over with..." Mastermind sighed, starting to move towards the exit as well but at a slow pace that was barely above limping: he was fearing that rushing to the exit would cause Fellwyd to seek retribution for "escaping" by breaking his entire hand, or a leg, or outright ripping his tail off. He tried to follow Sluice at least, glancing around as his eyes adjusted to the dull street that was so empty and abandoned.... was this area due to be demolished to make way for a car wash or something? "I can sense him coming.... you have a plan that won't immediatly scare him off?"OOC: I'm guessing/hoping that it's actually nightime in Vegas, since I'm completely lost track of time by now so I have no clue what time of day it is in America. So if I describe the scenary wrong that's my bad
  8. OOC: Hey Ymper, feel free jump in if you want to: sometimes I'm leaving a while between posts so you can respond if you desire to do so (most of the time I just don't get around to it, heh), because if I back-and-forth between Kumata too much I'll forget about you :PThat said I don't want you feel like the third wheel of our tricycle of plot... if I think about, technically I left and you changed it from a Unicycle to a Bicycle... and my return turned it into a Tricycle... ohnoI'mthethirdwheel :(IC: "So Abyss is meant to become a part of your, shall we say, true personality? Or she's actually a part of it already? I'll....trust your judgement on that..." Esp didn't seem particularly thrilled with that answer, especially since she'd developed a relatively strong dislike of Abyss in comparison to Sluice: while Sluice herself was never considered ideal, the Abyss personality was outright unpleasant, reckless, aggressive and generally incompatible. Sluice was therefore considered a perfect specimen in comparison to Abyss, and the fact both were seperate personalities of the same body made her goal all the more needlessly complicated... why couldn't there just be other, living Crystaxian females to make saving the species oh-so-much-easier? Of course, all this first required one thing. "We're about to come up on where Silver will apparently appear... verfying his phsyical and mental health, as well as retrieving him needs to be our top priority""He'll be there. I know full well your.... friend will bust my whole hand if it turns out I lied" Mastermind grimaced, using his non-mutilated (in his opinion) hand to prop himself up, and awkwardly get back on his feet. He clearly wasn't 100%, but the mutant wouldn't accept being carted around by the alien either. Esp meanwhile had activated a viewscreen to the outside, showing the familar glitter of the Vegas strip as they approached then promptly avoided lights, starting to slow as they neared the depressing dark sidestreets of their destination. Esp chose to set her craft of a body down across several empty parking spots (in clear violation of Las Vegas parking laws), trying to avoid attention in the eeirly-quiet part of the city: without the hustle and bustle this far-off area was like a ghost town.OOC: Your choice whether to depart the ship or not in your next post, Kumata. If you choose not to, I'll probably have Esp usher you out next time I post
  9. IC: "Well.... at least this part of you hasn't changed from how he remembers you. Good... too much has changed as it stands...." Mastermind grumbled before dropping his gaze to the floor, cradling his wounded hand slightly. Seeing Sarah's return seemed to be influencing the memories of Silver trapped within, causing his personality to resurface: at least ever so slightly."I will begin compiling a report right away: hopefully the venue is not considered so badly damaged that they abandon it before the League arrives. But we'll reach our destination soon and well..... how are you holding up?" Esp asked, her hologram returning to humanoid form and reappearing closer to Sarah. "Silver tasked me with protecting you, but I haven't been very proactive in doing so outside monitoring your phsycial well-being... it has been a month since the ordeal, yet I never really asked if you are.... how do you say it? Doing ok?"
  10. OOC: I'm probably not meant to think this, but I get the eerie feeling that Apep is like a toliet-paper slingin' Spiderman.... just me? :PIC: "Because all we need on Earth is more soldiers...""Only that we can infer from the images within Mastermind's quarters than Silver has been there for quite some time, and Mastermind was keeping tabs on him. As far as what he's been doing for the past few weeks, unknown, but he appears to be actively performing heroics like he used to. And as for the where.... tell us" Esp snapped in Mastermind's direction."Sorry, I wasn't aware I was meant to know the name of every freakin' street in Las Vegas" "Then show us" she corrected, fading from view as a holographic map of the Vegas strip, gathered from satelliate data formed in her place. Mastermind glanced at it, briefly closing his eyes before raising his non-crippled hand to point to an intersection out of the way from the hustle and bustle of the main strip."He's not there now, but he will be there very soon. Since we've travelling a lot faster than he is, we'll probably get there first.... but you've got to take me out to him with you. Bring your.... soldier here to keep me from escaping if you have to, but if he doesn't remember you then he won't just jump on a spaceship with a bunch of strangers..."
  11. IC: Esp's holographic form took a remarkably more pleasant demenour with Sarah's return and she actually smiled."You're back! I was actually starting to miss you... the other you is a bit.... unpleasant. But to answer your query: after Mastermind's mental attack your Abyss personality re-emerged, and she managed to defeat him with Fellwyd's assistance. According to him, Silver indeed is very much alive and apparently is somewhere in Las Vegas currently and we're in-flight as I speak" Esp reported, filling in the blanks that were left when Abyss took over: she had evidence that memory was personality-specific: Abyss didn't seem to remember what Sluice did and vice-versa."You need to put your new alien on a shorter leash... he doesn't seem to understand the concept of heroics yet" Mastermind spat, unable to resist the oppotunity to badmouth Fellwyd in front of, what he suspected, was his only Earth friend. And, well, you'd be pretty peeved with a broken finger too.
  12. OOC: He only has 3 fingers on each hand you know :crying:IC: Mastermind had been staring at Abyss, strangely intrigued by her limited to non-existant response to the revelation to the point he didn't even notice Fellywyd until the stress on his finger changed from being moved to the bone being broken: clearly he hadn't expected the alien to actually do something. The expected response to get one's finger broken was a cuss so foul Mrs Winters may have fainted had she been present: thankfully she was kidnapped right now."I'll kill you for that!" Mastermind hissed, his tail lashing around to strike Fellwyd in the back of the head like a demolition ball. That unexpected blow only succeeded in Mastermind being dropped from being carted around on the alien's shoulder to the hard floor, the drop quite unappreciated by someone with a broken finger: especially since Fellwyd was still gripping a 2nd finger and could snap that on a whim as well. He tried in vain to summon a wristblade upon his free arm, but with his powers still weakened it only sputtered into existance briefly. Still, the mutant was defiant and didn't show any sign of being "broken" by the wound: if he was bawling his eyes out behind his hood then he was doing well to hide it."T-Try a stunt like that again and y-you'll be sorry later.... your freaking spaceship b-better fix this, you still need MY help here" he snarled through gritted teeth, trying to focus his power in case Fellwyd tried to break a second: if he did then even a half-functional wristblade would have to suffice in the alien's chest.
  13. IC: "It seems your distinct personalities also have seperate access to memories, and that not all knowledge of one transfers to the other when they appear. I'll make a record of events so both of you are up to date when you.... erm..... change" Esp mused, not terribly comfortable with the fact Sarah's personality-switching hadn't been resolved in the past month: she wasn't exactly a prize-pig when she was still considered normal."Seems a little risky to injure the only person who knows where your friend is, AND can restore his memories. Unless you plan on sweet-talking him back to normal, you need me in good shape. Besides, it's well within my power to wipe my own memory of all details surrounding him, and you'd be out of luck, wouldn't you?" Mastermind scoffed, not taking threat of being bludgeioned very seriously. He was well aware that if he wiped his own memory their link to Silver would be severed for good, but altering his own memories was not something he wished to subject himself to... it was very easy to go wrong."Noted. Now: where is he?" ".......... a little oasis not too far away that you may be familar with: somewhere even I can be considered completely run-of-the-mill....." OOC: Ymper you are allowed to clobber/injure Mastermind if you wish, he wouldn't really wipe himself. You will succeed in really cheesing him off though
  14. OOC: I'm just going to give a general response to this, since it seems to me the question was asked at Fellwyd directly and there hasn't been any response to it so far and I'd prefer if the plot didn't stagnate too much (I don't think Esp butting into the conversation is too out of character, anyway ).NPC: "Fellwyd here is a friend you made previously... well, the Sluice version of you. As per my understanding you introduced him to the League and are acting somewhat as a guide to Earth life for him, as he is quite clearly an alien being, and as part of this he is in turn helping you with the current mess...""Ha! So within a month of losing Silver you not only failed to find him, but already set about upgrading by replacing the missing half-alien with a fully alien companion... I wasn't aware you thought so little of him that you'd outright replace him.... like a pet...." Mastermind spat, the mutant fully aware he should shut his mouth but clearly someone's words had really riled him up. Not the best of choices when being carted around like a sack of potatoes, but he really didn't care by this point.
  15. Got FOC yesterday afternoon, and I've already gotten to the 3rd-last level (X, XI? Where you play as Screamer).Interactions are great, but the Campaign has almost 0 variety with character choice... I'm not a huge fan of the grapple-gimmick for example, but I'm forced to use characters who have it across multiple levels... and everyone has Dash what's up with that? Really mad at my EB games as well, I didn't get my pre-order bonuses because "we didn't get any PS3 pre-order codes yet", and apparently this happened last year too and it took a month to fix. So it may be a long while before I see my G1 Prime, Swoop, Shockwave Cannon, etc. Not happy
  16. IC: "Oh, Silver never truly left this world.... something you'd probably already know if you bothered to look hard enough for him. He still exists, that much is certain, and I know where he is.... but you won't like what you find. You may be better off not tracking him down at all.... meeting with him will bring you nothing but pain" Mastermind chuckled, prying at the ice around his feet in vain: triple-digited hands were not something that could beat frozen water."So yes, I know exactly where he is. But the real question for you is whether you'll suffer more knowing, or not knowing...""Good enough for me: Grab him" Esp suggested, uneasily landing on the desert sand to allow her passengers and would-be-hostage to board. Abyss probably didn't have in it her to cart the unwilling Mastermind around, but Fellwyd would probably be more than happy to once he climbed up to the surface. And if Mastermind's head was banged on the doorway as Fellwyd dragged him aboard, it surely had nothing to do with settling scores. Surely.
  17. "We have reason to believe Silver is still alive, regardless of Mastermind's claims to the contrary. I sent part of myself down to poke around while you had him pre-occupied and found partially destroyed evidence showing Silver. But the images were recently taken and Mastermind claimed he was left for dead a month ago.... combined with the fact he tried to hide this evidence, it all suggests Silver is alive and Mastermind knows where. The damage prevents me from knowing exactly where the photos show him, only in an American city somewhere. If Mastermind dies then we lose our only remaining lead"Mastermind himself couldn't hear the conversation but wasn't going anywhere fast, breathing heavily and struggling to move anywhere. Exhaustion combined with injury had all but crippled him for the moment, but he still had enough fight in him to give Abyss a spiteful glare as he tried and failed to get back on his feet. Even attempting to form a psychic orb in his palm sputtered and faded away in a pathetic display, and he looked to be in enough pain that he wasn't able to fake weakness to catch them off gaurd. He'd pushed himself as far as he'd been able, failed, and now he had to suffer for it.
  18. OOC: Kumata returns, and so do I! I guess I don't really function without him after intergrating his characters so fully into my plots :PIC(Mastermind): The mutant span in the air, sending several desperate psychic blasts back down towards his pursuer that achieved nothing more than sending rubble raining down around her. Despite his desperation she was still following, but that mattered little when he reached the open air first and shot high into the air: further than a reverse-waterfall would ever be able to stretch without a massive body of water under it."Not good enough to stop me, I'm afraid" Mastermind gloated as he soared higher, only to heavily impact into Esp's shields as the spacecraft moved to intercept his retreat. Badly stunned the psychic fell like a rock back towards the desert outside the complex, barely slowing his descent enough to survive the fall intact, albiet in a very battered heap."Abyss, I've been monitoring you since your..... recent resurgance. Please note that Sluice: the other you, arrived here with the need to capture Mastermind alive" Esp relayed through Abyss's helmet, a feature Sluice would be have been aware of but something the aggressive alter-ego probably hadn't relised. Hopefully she would be willing to trust the metaphorical familiar face Esp provided, even though their experiances together hadn't extended past the Technax Invasion: if she refused to see reason the AI would have to neutralise her before she could slay Mastermind and destroy their only lead on Silver. Esp would probably enjoy doing so more than she'd openly admit...
  19. OOC: Huzzah, we've hit page 100 (once again, I believe? XD)! Party hats for all!IC: Four assaults from four different angles, each with varying effects... this would've been quite a challenge for any ordinary psychic. Mastermind, however, was clearly anything but ordinary. Even in his rampant state his mental powers could sense Fellwyd's rapid approach from above and the danger swooping in from behind: the ice-sword weilding woman in front of him stuck out like a sore thumb. Reacting to all of them was the bigger challenge, especially with his shield in it's weakest state yet.Fellwyd collided first, Mastermind shifting all of his shields strength to block the blow: at the cost of the entire shield shattering into non-existance and leaving him without any kind of protection at all. The mutant's tail was quick to react by smashing the alien across the face like a club, strong enough to send Fellwyd sprawling. Robbed of his only real defence, Abyss's sword strike became a grave threat if left unchecked, forcing Mastermind's total attention. Her heavy-water blade found itself suddenly jerked upwards as Mastermind took telekinetic control, trying to rip it from her and send it swinging against her or outright toss her and the blade aside if she held onto it. That just left the twin ice daggers which he could easily handle with a simp-*THUNK*Mastermind let out an ear-peircing screech of pain as one of the ice daggers grazed his abdomen, while the other he had considered dodged had embedded itself deeply within the top of his tail: his psychic abilities had conviently chosen to only consider a blow to his main body parts important enough to warn him about. A thick trail of blood was already beginning to pour from the wound, and the mutant fell to his knees in pain as the glow about him climaxed into a solid dome, which fell apart around the edges into a pillar as the nova misfired. The bright burst of aura that followed was almost blinding, the psychic semi-nova surging upwards and into the roof of the arena: and completely oblitering it, and the level above, and above that. It continued onwards until it destroyed the ground level of the facility itself and surged into the desert air before starting to fade, but the damage was done: every level between the underground arena and the deserts surface had a gaping section blown apart. When the sand that had been thrown about in the spectacle began to settle, the crater where Mastermind had once been was empty but it was too much to hope he'd obliterated himself in the process. A few drops of blood dropping from the sky quickly drew the heroes attention to the ceiling, where the wounded Mastermind hovered by his handiwork before hissing at the pair below and starting to fly upwards into his newly-made exit route. It had become clear he wasn't able to best the pair, so now he would try his luck at fleeing: something that was very counter-productive to Sluice's original goal for this sidetrip. Fate was cruel to reward their near-fatal fight with a race to the surface...
  20. Another year passes, and now we're no longer the same age. Try not to throw a hip, gramps. :PI hope you have/had a Happy Birthday Kumata!
  21. OOC: Where the heck have I been (well, apart from flailing around looking for a Fellwyd reply which I finally located) all this time? But let's kick my plot foward some more, since the Mastermind fight will get stale due to his current plot-armor protection... why he has that, you'll soon find out! I wouldn't want you two to get bored (like what happened in my last plot).NPC(Mastermind): The attack caused Mastermind's barrier to fluctuate, fading out of existance for a moment before snapping back up. His response was to send several ill-aimed blasts in Fellwyd's direction, continuing to target him until Abyss next assault drew his attention again. This back and forth attention shift continued to build, and Mastermind's aim began to get more and more errattic... but the blasts were becoming even more violent. It wasn't long before part of the arena wall crumbled away, taking some of the attached grandstand with it: even the shield that was specifically meant to protect the spectators was beginning to falter from taking so many blasts."This is starting to get out of hand: If the combatants could cease combat we will call this a draw for now, and we can arranage suitable compensa-" Showtime's voiceover announcement was cutoff midsentence, the infurated Mastermind destroying several loudspeakers in annoyance. The mutant had become incredibly unstable, and his critically damaged shield was showing familiar signs of cracks from stress: unfortunatly, the psychic also seemed to be gathering power into a pulsing dome around himself that shimmered in and out of existance. That was the beginnings of another psychic nova blast... and given the damage of his minor one earlier, an all-out one might reduce the whole arena to a crater. There might not be a later if they didn't take him out now...OOC: Summary is Mastermind is charging an oversized psychic nova, which'll do a horrendous amount of damage. Time to tag-team and take him down :3
  22. @_@*subtly adds Fellwyd to "People to kill and make it look like an accident" list*IC: The icy claws raked across Mastermind's barrier, causing it to flicker with every strike and causing him to stumble: more and more of their assaults seemed to be "leaking" through his shield to knock him around, thought not causing any permanent damage. The mutant however was getting far less accomodating about it, whirling in place to send his tail sailing towards Fellwyd's face like a minature wrecking ball. The move also conviently gave him a glance at Abyss's new position, at which he lauched almost a half-dozen very poorly aimed psychic blasts... not a sign of someone who was confident in their victory.
  23. IC: Abyss's punches met with another minor barrier that seemed to hang around Mastermind, invisible to the naked eye. Despite it showing no sign of breaking, Mastermind still seemed to very much feel the slugs, stumbling and hissing at her. The icy weapon whirled right up on cue, but his tail reacted almost of it's own accord and smashed down on the centre like a piledriver, smashing the saw into the sand and hundreds of shards... and not once did he even glance at it. The swift response was that Abyss felt her body seized by telekinetic force as she was about to land her 5th blow, lifting her clear off the ground and into the air, and starting to squeeze: it felt like her own ocean pressure technique had turned against her. That was when Fellwyd finished his "rebuttal" of Mastermind's challenge.Abyss found herself being tossed away like rejected candy, now ignored. Fellwyd had hit a nerve, or at least had managed to really peeve the "primal" Mastermind off. The cloaked mutant had whirled back towards the alien, and sucking in a larger lungful of air than before roared a second time, louder and far more aggressive. Fellwyd, by nature of being a purely alien specimen had the advantage of being able to be more impressive in general, but Mastermind wasn't taking that easily and seemed intent on trying to out-intimidate him. Probably a part of his primitive, animal-like way of thinking right now, or perhaps he merely wanted to prove he was the mostly manly-macho of the freaks present. Regardless, his second roar was quickly followed by a third... and hurling a psychic blast that was thrice their normal size in Fellwyd's direction.OOC: Fair warning, if Fellwyd roars back I'm probably going to narrate something in a Sir David-Attenborough accent...
  24. So basically, a free supply of booze. Supervillian's get it great! I feel like you trying to bump Mastermind off... maybe I just think Fellwyd is really strong, or Mastermind is really fragile. But I'll be keeping his brain intact, thanks. :PIC: Mastermind didn't sense the attack coming until it was already connecting with the minor barrier surrounding his entire body: a good precaution, especially given the head of a psychic was being attacked by some alien fists. The shield absorbed the force of the blow, but it was still more than enough to send Mastermind slamming into the sandy floor painfully hard... had he been unshielded, he'd either be unconcious or dead."Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" Mastermind growled, still on the floor and trying to push himself back up. His eyes pulsed from beneath his hood, the mutant forcing himself back to his feet before swinging a wristblade at Fellwyd, getting dangerously close despite a poorly-aimed strike. The mutant's next action was somewhat unexpected: he summoned another wristblade to his other arm then roared at the alien facing him. It was distinctly tiger-like mixed with who knew what else, certaintly nothing that called Earth home. Trying to get Abyss back in his sights as well, Mastermind roared in her direction. Whether it was meant to be a threatening display, or Mastermind had just lost his last marble was anyone's guess, but the crowd seemed to love it. Mastermind himself just seemed to have totally lost his cool, especially since he seemed to have taken up growling as well...OOC: I guess his roar is mostly feline/tiger, since his body is kind of feline-appearing. Just don't get too close without a plan, he might start biting
  25. OOC: Where did the Beardy Spoon go? The Mastermind plot can't advance unless I godmod him unconcious or something :(I suppose I'll try and edit in a 1-month-ago Silver IC or something, Darkness is busy and I'm not ready to kickstart KILL again.
