  1. Oh wow, this is NICE! I love the effect, you can almost feel the energy radiating around him; and the way it's disturbing the ground around his feet is a really neat touch, too! I also really like how you convey such life in the character, particularly the way you do it without deviating at all from authenticity to the set design. It's really effective
  2. Yeah, those are all good points... and, I will grant, I was exaggerating somewhat for comedic effect. Even if I do feel like their first impulses would have been to use their new forms for self-serving ends before they all banded together, I also would also agree with you; once they did, they would likely have been capable in their own way, when it came down to it.
  3. I was imagining that a couple of weeks ago, funnily enough. Given that most of those Matoran were driven by jealousy of their counterparts who did canonically become Toa Metru, though... all I can imagine them doing is returning to their own Metru to gloat over them, now that they finally had something Vakama and co. didn't. Like, Nuju trying to work in his knowledge tower, and Toa Ehrye just hanging around constantly pestering him like "you never thought I could make it to the top, Nuju? Well, who's superior now? Who?" and his presence just royally annoying not only Nuju but all the other scholars too. And the others doing more or less the same thing, too... Toa Vhisola butting into all Nokama's lessons like "I'm a Toa, now you've got to pay attention to ME all the time forever" and constantly derailing Nokama's classes. Toa Ahkmou putting all his effort into making insanely massive statues for the sole purpose of overshadowing Onewa. Toa Orkahm enforcing overly-strict speed limits in Le-Metru just to antagonise Matau. And finally, one of the more sensible of the new Toa - possibly Toa Tehutti, who seems to be the only one not to have a stated grudge against his respective canon!Metru - has to be all like "Ah, guys? Don't you think maybe we should think about, I dunno, trying to stop the Morbuakh and save the city?" And the others just all look at each other and, as one, are like... "Nah. Using out new position to gloat is better."
  4. IC: Tarutu - Tesara Marketplace, talking with Paju "If by it, you mean me... pretty sore. But that's my own fault." No-one had asked her, after all, to paste herself against the robot's leg; but, after living through the thousand-year Makuta Wars, Tarutu's warrior instincts had never quite gone away. While she would certainly not regard herself as foolhardy, even she had to admit that they sometimes drove her to rather reckless actions. Case in point: today... and Tarutu was quite aware that she'd been lucky to emerge from the fight relatively unscathed. Fighting robots and fighting rahi were clearly worlds apart in terms of tactics. But, that aside... she recognised the fellow Ga-Matoran who had greeted her, didn't she? She was the other one who'd gone charging straight into the fight, seemingly equally heedless of danger; and while Tarutu had lost track of her as soon as the battle had been joined, she certainly hadn't forgotten the other's face. "I wouldn't have expected most others of our kind to charge into that fight like you did. Respect, my sister." She held out her fist for the other to bump, if she felt that way inclined. IC: Kastir - Capstone Bar It... did seem a little paranoid, if Kastir was honest with herself. The idea that whoever had built their former home robot had some attachment to the idea of threes, she could get behind well enough; but whoever they were, she imagined they were long-gone by now. It certainly seemed a little bit out there to imagine that those same powers had deliberately arranged for the obliteration of a fourth settlement out here in the wastelands, just to keep to their perfect ideal of three... but, at the same time... she also couldn't quite rule it out as out of hand. And besides, whether or not she quite bought everything Drukann was selling, the fact remained that there was good money involved. Perhaps not as easy as she'd first thought, but still an interesting change of pace from pursuing wanted fugitives far and wide across the desert... and, despite herself, Kastir had to admit she was curious. Even if the skakdi's words were just - her eyes fell, momentarily, on the bottle in his hand - drunken ramblings, there was still enough substance to them to reel her in. Did that make her gullible? Perhaps. She'd worry about that later. "Now, I'm no therapist, don't ask my opinion on that." She kept her tone light, not intending for the words to be taken as an insult. "But I'd say you've hit on something here. And if you are leading an expedition - and if your money's as good as your ad said it was - then you can count on my services."
  5. IC: Blizzard "Fair enough." She had, perhaps, been curious what Draco had been meaning to check up on here... but Blizzard also couldn't claim any great surprise that he had no inclination to share. She was, after all, just a newbie, and his business was certainly none of her business. Stretching slightly, casually - entirely unfazed by the way her curiosity had been rebuffed - the gold-armoured Rahk moved to follow Explota's lead and join the food line. Her fellow newb had already retrieved his extremely unappetising meal, so there was little for Blizzard to do but follow suit. As she wandered back towards her companions, she tentatively poked her tongue out from between her armoured faceplates, took a careful lap of the soupy substance. Recoiling a little at the taste - or rather, lack of taste, it was as bland as bland could possibly be - the girl Rahk nonetheless swallowed the little she'd tried. At least it slipped down easily, she supposed. Rejoining her fellows, Blizzard set her bowl down, and slipped into one of the seats herself. Eyebrows raised in a sort of silent amusement at Explota's outburst, but no comment was given; rather, Blizzard busied herself with her own meal. Holding her necklace out of the way with one hand, so it wouldn't dangle in her food, the weather control Rahk hunched over her bowl and began to lap at the liquid. It didn't get any more pleasant for eating more of it... but it was still food, no matter how unappealing. She simply sucked it up and kept going.
  6. IC: Kastir - Capstone bar "Hm." He had a point, Kastir had to admit. Whatever had been going on with their old universe, rules of three (or, almost as often, six) had indeed seemed to be pretty common, looking back. She'd not given it any real thought at the time, just assuming it was the way the world worked... but, she supposed, when it turned out that your home for a few thousand years had been a giant robot built by some of the same breed of unusual beings who inhabited this vast desert, people would start asking questions about the meaning behind it all. She never had, granted... Kastir had been far more caught up in making a living in the wasteland out here than puzzling out the mysteries of the downed robot they'd all left behind. But clearly Drukann had been doing some serious thinking on it, and he was probably not the only one. She noticed, a moment later, that the Skakdi was catching her eye, the expectation clearly that she got what he was alluding to. The giant instinct was to confess ignorance outright; she paused, however, before the words could leave her mouth. She wasn't sure she new quite what Drukann was getting at; but she had a couple of guesses, at least. "The three major settlements? Cliffside, Tesara and Atero?" Whether that was it, she wasn't sure; but, in her defence, she still wasn't up-to-date on local news yet. IC : Tarutu - Tesara Marketplace Well... might as well resume her original purpose here where she'd left off. It seemed that no-one did want her help to pick up the pieces, not immediately at any rate; and, in any case, Tarutu had found herself being rounded up with the rest of the witnesses to give testimony. While a part of her resented the additional intrusion on her time, the Ga-Matoran knew she really didn't have much to add that hadn't already been said, so she bit her tongue and curbed her irritation. Her statement, such as it was, had been taken, and she'd reluctantly left contact details should the guard need to pursue her account further... and had been declared free, more or less, to go about her business. And, with holders of the undamaged stalls cautiously popping back up and moving, once again, to display their wares, Tarutu saw no reason not to resume browsing. The troubles of the Tesara guard were really none of her business, at least insomuch as she'd already played her part; and, after the extra trouble it had caused her, she certainly had no intention of returning home empty-handed. Moving a bit slower than normal, to treat her freshly-bruised body with care, the Ga-Matoran started to again wander between the stalls, casting her orange gaze across them in search of merchandise that she would be able to sell on, back in New Atero, for a higher price than it would cost her here. Of course, she was always alert, too, to her surroundings. Especially after that attack, her guard wasn't going to be let down anytime soon; and, though her electroblade was deactivated, Tarutu kept one hand lightly upon its hilt as she walked. Just in case. OOC: Tarutu is, again, open for interactions ^^
  7. Just got a G2 Bionicle set for the first time today, and I have to say... I am more impressed than I expected to be.

  8. I just checked... in the movie scene, the Toa tools are nowhere in sight but, curiously, Vakama and Nokama's staffs appear to simply grow out of their empty hands during the transformation process. I would tend to attribute that, though, more to artistic license than anything else. We don't see full shots of any of the other Metru transforming; but they are all empty-handed before, and have staffs in hand after.
  9. Oh wow, neat! I love how authentic to the classic style you kept it; I genuinely felt like I was watching something from 2001. And the sort of little moments - like the Kofo-Jaga clicking its pincers just before Onua picked it up, and the mask power effect - really sell that feeling all the more. I particularly enjoyed the use of the old sound effects for the character movements, too
  10. IC: Tarutu - Tesara Marketplace "Fine, I'm... sore, but fine." Stowing her electroblade, now that the fight did indeed seem to be done for the present, Tarutu did her best to wave the medic off. She hardly needed the attention; for a Matoran, she fancied herself as a hardy specimen... at the worst, all she needed was a painkiller and a patch for the crack in her armour, and both of those she was confident enough that she could manage alone. She bore no further injury or damage, and there were surely others amidst the carnage who needed the medic's care far more than she did. Waving them off, the Matoran instead ventured towards what had, moments ago, been the heart of the conflict. It was none of her business, but... even so, she was curious. She'd pulled her weight in the fight, and she had a right to know what it had been about, didn't she? Pausing only to tear a strip of fabric from one of the shredded stalls, which she tied around her chest to conceal her cracked armour, Tarutu moved over to join the gathered group. She idly noticed that the glatorian guard who she'd noticed earlier was there again - apparently she hadn't done a runner at the first sign of danger after all, which was... at least mildly reassuring - giving orders even while being tended by a medic; and she also noticed the battered-looking Vortixx who, if she was hearing right, had been the robots' target. No-one who she recognised, of course. "You need some help picking up the pieces around here?" The question was directed to no-one in particular; though either of the guards were welcome to pick up on it if they wanted. Tarutu rarely offered free help; but since her plans for a quiet day of browsing the market had clearly fallen through, the Matoran figured she might as well put herself to good use while she was here. IC: Kastir - Capstone bar "I can't say I have; or not recently, at any rate. I've been away for some time." Kastir drummed her fingers lightly on the table; a non-threatening gesture for most other species, but one that her large claws made distinctly less so. It was hardly that she was trying to be intimidating, by simply that her species' natural looks (and size) tended to give that impression anyway... she'd long ago learned that nothing she could say would actually change that fact. She'd learned to live with it. She listened, too, as Drukann elaborated. The arena, the questions, the way it haunted him... it sounded wild, and more than a little out there... and yet, at the same time? She doubted that the skakdi had any reason to lie to her. It really was something that was on his mind, and he sounded like he wanted to get to the bottom of it; and the kind of money he was offering for it certainly wasn't to be sniffed at. The giant nodded as he spoke of the place needing three people to activate it, then frowned a little. Three virtues... that rung a bell, but for a moment, she couldn't place why. Then she got it. "Oh, the ones the little Matoran worshipped? Unity, Something, and... Density?" No, that didn't sound quite right. But while the virtues had been known on her home island, they hadn't been held in high regard by more than a handful of her people; and after so many years in the desert, they'd almost slipped Kastir's mind altogether. "But, I'm interested. Go on." OOC: There's nothing really mysterious about where Kastir had been; I just needed an ic explanation for why she hadn't been around the game's world before this point ^^
  11. I was wondering something, actually. Is it considered a usual thing to let people play as the canon Lego characters, if they so choose, in this board? Or is that frowned upon? Just because, if I pursue this idea, I'd like for the classic Rock Raiders characters to be involved... just don't know if they could be chosen by players, or if it would be more typical for the GM to control them as NPCs instead.
  12. I love the way you've used constraction pieces for her basic frame, then padded them out with system parts for a much neater, sleeker look. It's a really clever technique, and it suits her design ever so well. The additional orange flairs around the mask, that give it a distinctive shape, are a really nice touch too! ^^
  13. @ Laval Master of Energy - My intent was that the monsters would be playable, yeah. You could totally be one ^^ @ The UltimoScorp - Well... it's long been a favourite Lego theme of mine, ever since the October '99 issue of Lego Adventures magazine that got me thoroughly hooked. Almost twenty years ago now, haha, wow... in any case, now that I'm getting into the RP scene here on BZ, I thought it was something I could suggest I've been thinking about this, on and off, since I made that post... but what I have still isn't fully developed, so I'd welcome any further ideas ^^
  14. IC: Blizzard "Gruel. I guess none of the Rahkshi cooks you mentioned ever made it as far as the school kitchens, huh?" She couldn't claim to be vastly surprised; even with all the different kinds of classes here, they were still essentially being trained up to become war machines, and war machines were supposed to be able to function on even the worst possible food. Still, anticipating it didn't mean she was enthusiastic to learn just how bad the slop they served here was able to be... but, as long as they were stopping here, anyway? She might as well find out now as later. Besides, she was a growing kraata and was at that point in life where appetite had very few limits; if there was the option to put food in front of her, she'd eat, whether she actually felt hungry or not. "Yeah, I could eat. If we need to get used to the stuff, might as well start now." She paused for a moment, considering Draco. "What about your thing you needed to check on here? That all under control?"
  15. Considering a Rock Raiders RP over on the Lego RPG board... come and let me know if you'd be interested! http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/3967-lego-tbrpg-construction-design/page-15?do=findComment&comment=1161924

  16. Kind of, yeah! Only, I believe Power Miners was set on Earth? Whereas Rock Raiders were interplanetary explorers who got stranded in a foreign galaxy. Their only hope of getting back to Earth was to mine enough Energy Crystals, native to the planet above which they found themselves stranded, to power their hyperdrive engines for the journey home. On the planet, they find monsters of rock, ice and lava, who regard the crystals as their food and guard them jealously. The theme's story was reasonably well developed for Lego's late 90s era - with most material agreeing with each other, more or less, unlike some of the other themes of that era! - and I tend to base my approach to the theme on a combination of the video game, the three comics from the UK Lego Adventures magazine, and the High Adventure Deep Underground comic book. It'll probably give you the best an idea of the theme if I link to the game's opening cutscene ^^ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAyvMU8umUY
  17. IC: Kastir - Cliffside, Capstone bar The bartender obliged, surreptitiously pointing her in the direction of a fire-coloured Skakdi across the room, and was immediately forgotten by the giant as she regarded Drukann through narrowed eyes. His was a wildly unpredictable species, Kastir had learned from a couple of occasions in the past, and she had no way of guessing what this particular specimen might be like... but he did, at least, look as though he were waiting there for someone. And if he was indeed the one who had posted that ad, the someone might as well be her. Flicking an imagined speck of dust off her notched purple armour, she straightened as well as she could manage - in any building designed for Toa-sized beings, she had to stoop uncomfortably to keep her towering form from hitting the ceiling - Kastir struck a deliberate approach across the bar. The room was hardly crowded, and no-one tried to get in her way as she made her approach; although Drukann would hardly be able to fail to notice that she was heading in his direction. She was, quite simply, too big to easily miss. In any case, she arrived at the Skakdi's table without incident. "I believe you're the one offering good money to scout out this 'arena'?" Her tone was easy, almost pleasant... and yet, also, left little room for beating around the bush. Without waiting to be invited, she squatted at the table, across from Drukann. Comically large, she may have appeared; but very few people seemed to feel safe laughing when faced with her prominent mouthful of teeth. Not that it would bother her at all if they did laugh, but people seemed to find her... intimidating. "I'm interested; give me some details." IC: Tarutu - Tesara marketplace, talking with Akkitu "It's not that strange; I just rammed a giant robot. Cracks happen." Still, she glanced down at where the Ko-Matoran had indicated. His concern, honestly, surprised her a little... but, despite her dismissive words, Tarutu appreciated it. This was the kind of attitude, the kind of looking out for one another, that she remembered rather fondly from her days on Mata Nui... and that was so missing from life in this wasteland. Perhaps, she supposed, it was simply a Matoran thing; when you were viewed by many as the bottom of the food chain, you learned to band together and watch one another's backs. It was a nice change of pace, even for a single brief moment. She frowned a little as she took in the crack. It was uncomfortably close to her heartlight, wasn't it? Carefully, she brought her hand up to touch the fresh damage, fingers running over the stressed metal. The crack didn't look deep; and even though she was no metalsmith, Tarutu felt fairly confident in deciding that it would hold... at least, as long as she didn't go in for a repeat performance. That, however, didn't seem like something she needed to worry about. The robot looked like it was turning away and, in spite of her earlier scepticism, it looked like the guard did indeed have the fight under control; while, across the shredded marketplace, the final attacker was being taken apart piece-by-piece by another pair of warriors. She doubted the danger was over, no-one who had robots at his or her disposal would stop at just one wave of the attack... but, at least for a moment, she could afford the chance to recover. And also, to address the Ko-Matoran's question. "I'll be fine. I can patch it up when I get back to my shop, no big deal."
  18. IC: Tarutu - Tesara "Yeah... yeah, no argument here." Dazed from the kick, and hurting more than she had anticipated from slamming into what felt more like a solid wall than a single leg of any being - she wasn't sure what else she'd expected, although in fairness she'd never gone head-to-head with someone made of nothing but metal before - the Ga-Matoran finally let herself stumble back from the fight. Now that she'd actually done some damage, even if it was only to leave the robot a tiny bit exposed to the guardsman's strike, her pride would actually let her retreat; and, for once, she was willing to do just that. Electro-blade still in hand and activated, just in case anything else came her way, Tarutu limped back out of the immediate radius of the fight. She ached all over, and there seemed to be an ominous, if small, crack in her chest armour where it had borne the brunt of her impact; but otherwise, she didn't think she'd suffered any lasting damage. The robot's kick had, however, almost dislodged her mask; so she allowed herself the moments to push it straight, making sure it was once more securely in place. Once more, orange eyes narrowed as she looked in the direction of the fight. She wasn't going to take for granted that the guard had it entirely in hand... but she was also feeling too sore to immediately debate the point.
  19. IC: Tarutu - Tesara Marketplace Oh, for the-- Whatever Paju's rhotuka had been meant to do, it clearly hadn't done; the attacker didn't even seem to slow, and Tarutu's eyes widened as she realised she was barrelling towards a foe who wasn't hindered in the slightest. Unless she really, really made this strike count, he was either going to crush her to a pancake, or blast her out of existence, and it would be such a stupid way to die-- And then she was past the attacker, her blade stabbing harmlessly through empty air as he simply removed himself from her path. Thrown off-balance, Tarutu flailed blindly for a moment, before managing to regain her footing and whip around to face the fight once more. The giant was paying her no mind at all, it seemed, as it rather busied itself exchanging blows with a Tesara guard; so, even as ill-advised as it was, the Matoran took a moment to scrutinise the attacker. She could see robotic parts, but nothing organic to speak of... and the only thing that reminded her of was the scrapped Vahki she'd seen occasionally after returning to Metru-Nui. With this knowledge in mind, she scampered back a few paces, just in case the robot should turn on her... but she wasn't fleeing, oh no. Tarutu saw herself as far too tough for that. Rather, when she was only a few more steps away from the attacker, she turned and charged straight back again. With any luck, its attention was indeed fully on the guard... and her intent was to slam into the robot's leg, hoping that the impact would knock it off-balance long enough for Mirror to get in a clean hit. --- IC; Kastir - Cliffside, Capstone bar Hm. The hulking, toothy giant had spent several minutes poring over the noticeboard just outside the bar. She had only recently returned to the town - if you could quite call it that... town sounded a far too civilised descriptor for Cliffside - after pursuing a certain objective much farther into the desert wastes than anyone had any right to go, even for the considerable price she'd been offered. To add insult to injury, she'd come back to find that the one who'd promised her such payment had been dead for nearly as long as she'd been gone so, while Kastir didn't quite count the trip as a waste of time... it had certainly been an unpleasant surprise to return to. Her wallet, therefore, was feeling far too light, and that meant is was time to see who was offering good money for some worthless piraka. There were a few, alright, and Kastir made a point to take note of the most promising ones; but, somehow, the bounties themselves weren't what caught her attention. There were all manner of random scrawlings, of dubious validity, pinned across the board - those, too, she knew better than to pay any mind to - but two stood out. One was a partially obscured notice about a beacon, an arena... while it could have been yet one more piece of drunken scribble, something about it smelled, to her, of promise. And she clearly wasn't the only one; the second notice that caught her eye had been placed right next to that one, offering a very comfortable financial compensation to anyone who would aid a certain Drukann in his own investigation of the location. Not her typical field of expertise, perhaps; but it sounded, to Kastir, like an easy way to make some good money. She could play bodyguard just as well as the next person, and the reward certainly wasn't one to be sniffed at. She would meet with the one offering such a payment, the titan decided, and see if he seemed genuine. Of course, being away for so long, she had very few faces to attach names to, and the ad-poster's wasn't one of them. Rather, after hunching through the low doorway into the Capstone - low by her standards, at least - Kastir first approached the bartender. Flicking him a couple of widgets, she leaned forward, softly voicing the name she was looking for. "A Mr. Drukann?"
  20. Most of the conversation about it so far has been happening in this thread instead ^^
  21. Aaaaand just one more, I think... Character: Name: Kastir Species: Botar's species Gender: Female Powers: Natural teleportation powers, physical strength. The teleportation powers, of course, will be limited: while they technically have no range limit, they take a lot out of her to use, and she can't safely make more than one such jump per (in-character) day. Additionally, she can't bring anything along with her that's larger than she can hold in her hands. Gear: Great Kanohi Akaku; while she carries on her person at all times, she usually wears it pushed up onto her forehead like a pair of goggles, and only lowering it into place when she's tracking someone. She doesn't carry a melee weapon, relying instead on her fists and her considerable physical strength alone in close-quarters brawls; but she does wield a zamor launcher for ranged combat. The spheres she carries are filled with a paralysing agent, which renders an average target unable to move for several seconds. Personal Aircraft: Huntress' Pride Allegiance/Role: Cliffside; bounty hunter Appearance: Like most of her species, Kastir is a menacing giant with a mouthful of sharp teeth. Her moderately-scarred armour is black and purple; and, as mentioned, she typically wears a Kanohi Akaku pushed up onto her forehead. Personality: When on a hunt, Kastir is absolutely vicious; you do NOT want to tangle with her or get in the way of her objective, or she will make you regret it... if you're alive to regret anything when she's through with you. This seems, however, to be a mindset that she can switch on and off at will - because when she's not in 'hunter' mode, she is actually surprisingly civil and upbeat company. Unusual as it is for one in her line of work, she has actually been known to stand up for the small and the weak of the world when she's not on a job... although close proximity to those massive teeth make it an unnerving experience to be the object of her attention, whether that attention be good or bad. Bio: Since the Great Spirit Robot's crash on Bara Magna, Kastir has broken away from the rest of her species, becoming something of an outcast as she pursues her own agenda. With the Dark Hunters no longer the cohesive unit they had once been, Kastir quickly established herself as a bounty hunter in her own right; and, while she got very little work at first, the various groups involved in setting up their own lives on the new world quickly found they needed to inconspicuously remove members of the opposing factions. Kastir proved herself very good at what she did, if not exactly subtle; after a time, however, she seemed to drop off the map entirely, vanishing into the vastness of the desert. Recently, she has returned to known territory. Tight-lipped about where she's been, with only fresh scars to her armour to show for it, Kastir is finding that life here has progressed somewhat since she left... however, she quickly established her own little niche in the Cliffside settlement, taking whatever contracts will inevitably come her way. Aircraft: Name: Huntress' Pride Model: Axalara Weaponry: Twin skyblasters; meanwhile, the bomb bay has been repurposed to drop a stun netting, aiding her in clean and efficient capture of a target. Customisation: 1) The armour plating has been reinforced. 2) Additional engine power, to counteract the drag caused by the added weight of her larger-than-average form. The added power does, however, sacrifice considerable manoeuvrability. Appearance: Painted to mirror her armour, the craft is mostly a deep purple - making it hard to pick out against the night sky - with silver highlights along the top edges of the bodywork. Hope the teleportation's not too overpowered? According to BS01 it's a natural ability that the whole species shares, or I would have left it off entirely. As it is, I've tried to limit it reasonably, and I have no intention of using it to unfair advantage... but if you still want me to tone it down further, I will do so ^^
  22. IC: Tarutu, Tesara Marketplace "Just like old times, huh?" The question was rhetorical, of course; Tarutu had no idea whether she'd seen this matoran before in her life or not, and Metru Nui certainly hadn't been the only place in the universe that her kind called home. But, at least to her, that was just what it was. Just like back on the island of Mata Nui, fighting off Rahi four times her size as part of the guard... and while the context was, of course, very different, the sense of fighting a losing battle against all odds was very much the same. Despite her quip, she fell back into the role of a guard taking orders from a supposed superior incredibly easily. She had one electro-blade to her name, how was she supposed to disarm three giants? Still, she was too used to following orders, in the thick of combat, to question it. Stopping to think through every single order you received in a battle was a really good - and stupid - way to end up dead, and she'd kept herself alive in this Mata Nui-forsaken wasteland for far too long to make such a mistake easily. She didn't have a plan besides sticking her blade somewhere where it would hurt, but that was good enough for her. In fact-- Make that only two giants. One had exploded spectacularly as it took a direct hit from an otherwise poorly-aimed barrage from the sky. Tarutu didn't spare the time to look skyward, her attention was already focused; and, as soon as Paju launched her rhotuka, Tarutu was leaping in its wake. She was no match for its speed, of course; but she was in good position to lunge for the nearest titan as soon as the spinner struck home. Her aim was to jab for the attacker's elbows with her blade, ideally shocking them enough that he (or she, or it) would release grip on their weapon. After that... she didn't have a plan. She was playing this by ear.
  23. Is... anyone still here who'd be up for a Lego rp? Not that I have much in the way of ideas, and I wouldn't be confident to GM something myself anyway; I'm not new to RP, but I am new to BZP's RP scene. But I thought I'd at least test the waters and see if anyone's still here with three words: Rock Raiders RP. As we know, according to canon, the first discovery of the Planet of the Monsters was accidental: the LMS Explorer was sucked through a wormhole into an entirely foreign galaxy and, with no other way to get home, the crew - known as the Rock Raiders - desperately ventured down to the planet to find the energy crystals that they needed to re-power the ship. Despite opposition from the native Rock, Ice and Lava Monsters, the crew was successful, harvesting enough of the precious crystals to make the hyperjump back home. Still, though, the adventure lingered in the back of the minds of each of the Raiders. The planet had been like nothing they'd ever seen before, its potential to be tapped was incredible... and it wasn't a secret they were going to be able to keep forever. Keeping it on the down-low, Chief set about assembling a larger crew for a return to the wild planet: to explore and map it more thoroughly, to discover its secrets, and to see if the energy crystals that formed so naturally there could potentially be bought back to Earth. The mission won't be easy: team members need to be prepared to tackle environments of rock, ice, lava and water - not to mention take on angry monsters who resent the disturbance of their home. All who have signed up know the risks... and now, after a long journey through space, they have finally arrived on the hostile world. I was thinking players could be Rock Raiders or monsters to provide more grounds for conflict, and that maybe the monsters had some sort of civilisation that the Rock Raiders were inadvertently threatening. The old High Adventure Deep Underground comic book even suggested that they'd had civilisation at some point, though it had fallen to pieces by the time the Rock Raiders discovered the planet... it was something I thought could be played off. Would anyone be interested? Or am I just shouting into an empty void over here? ...or have I horribly dated myself because no-one who is here even cares about a twenty-year-old Lego theme at this point? xD
  24. Oooh. The logo tease got a small measure of curiosity from me, but that's about all; it could, after all, have meant anything. But that visual... Count me as INTERESTED. Especially since his comment accompanying that picture very much seems to echo (and elaborate one) the classic "I have slept for so long. My dreams have been dark ones." - those iconic words that started off the first-ever Bionicle story in comic #1. I really look forward to seeing where these teasers might be going
  25. No need to apologise; I'm honestly enjoying this loads more than I would have done with one based on my original intention I completely agree that Mata Nui is the more fascinating location, by far ^^ I'm definitely continuing to enjoy it, too! I love the way you have each of the Matoran playing to their unique strengths, in the fight particularly; I sometimes forget that they all have such different abilities and experiences, so it's a real treat to see the way you put them to use to such good effect. It makes them very believable individuals... it feels like almost being there with them, really wanting to cheer them on! And no worries about the time taken; I completely understand that real life comes first ^^ Thank-you, again!
