The answer to the topic title is yes.
However, it's not dead quite dead yet. There are still fans around, and I suspect the forums will remain active at least for a few more years.
Dying, but not dead.

Cool idea, and very creative. I might try this out someday.

Gonna buy it immediately when it arrives.
And I never buy music online, so that's saying something.

Funnily enough, the line "my duty is to the mask of shadows" was actually originally scripted as "my duty remains to the shadows", but was accidentally mixed up by the writers to the current one. This was revealed in one of those really old Bzp news articles, though I don't know which one. The original line can also be seen in the novelization of the film, in which it is correct. I remember the article saying that they kept the mix-up as it was because they "thought it was funny".

6 years since G1 ended, and Greg is still making controversial canonizations that no one in the fandom actually likes?
Some things never change.

They did make a few for Pohatu as well in the Rahi Challenge expansion.
Here's a gallery with all the cards. Pohatu is in the later ones.

Sounds great! The music kinda reminds me of some of the tracks in the Matoran Adventures GBA game, which I was not expecting. But it's clear that you've combined many different iconic soundscapes for the tracks. Kind of like a mixture of MNOG and the Power Pack tracks. Anyway, I really like it. Nice work!

Absolutely beautiful. It's heartwarming to see Faber return to Bionicle every once in a while. It shows how much creating it meant to him and how much it must have contributed to his career as well.

Perhaps I can be of assistance. The download links are no doubt long gone by now, but I just happen to have the files on my computer. I just put them up on dropbox so you can download them:

Nice, solid work. The first one is my favorite, there's something about the action and motion in it that I like. The rest are good too though. Certainly bring back a good dose of nostalgia from 2001-2002.

Gender-locking elements.
Pretty much.
Outright decanonizing love.
These.
And, of course (here we go again):
Alternate universes.

When it comes to the Matoran Universe map, I much prefer using this fan-made version of it as opposed to the official one, as it seems much more accurate despite being unofficial.
As for Artakha's location, I imagine it would probably be cloaked by some kind of mist and illusions to conceal it. There's also another point to be considered: we don't know much about the other islands in that "arm" of Mata Nui, but Tren Krom's island is right at its tip, and that certainly wasn't a very well-known place, save for a few beings who did. It could be that the entire chain if islands there were not that well explored. There may not have been any practical reasons for the beings in the MU to go to that area of the universe.
I'm pretty sure no one actually had a map of the entire MU within it. I mean, if they did, they would have realized that their universe was in the shape of a humanoid figure and realized the truth about Mata Nui. Probably their version of the "world map" would just include islands in the "head", "body", and perhaps the abdomen. The islands in the "legs" were described throughout the story as places best ignored, so the same probably applied to at least one of the "arms".

First, I would get rid of the serials entirely.
Then I would modify the characterizations of the Inika and Mahri in the 2006-2007 story to better correspond with their Matoran personalities.

Alternate universes did nothing but harm to the lore of Bionicle. Come to think of it, Greg's online serials in general failed to develop the lore of Bionicle without introducing some crazy, convoluted, inconsistent and ridiculous plot twists that led nowhere.
As for the main story, 2006 marked a change in the atmosphere of Bionicle, though I'm not entirely opposed to it. The story got really dark then, and this continued in 2007, but it was still good for the most part. I wouldn't say Bionicle went wrong there (aside from the serials being introduced). It was in 2009 when it did, in my opinion. They attempted a reboot that had much potential to be cool, but the execution was all over the place, and The Legend Reborn ultimately brought the story down in flames.

The maps are amazing! They're very detailed and definitely add something to the Bionicle universe, which is much appreciated. I can imagine these maps to be very useful in fan fiction and the like. I can definitely think of some good uses for them.
This may sound nitpicky (cause it is), but I'd like to remark that the postcard at the beginning has a Mctoran on it, even though during the time of the Metru Nui story the Matoran were in different forms, so that's an inconsistency with canon. I love the "wanted" section with a picture of Vakama though, nice touch!

It will become better with age, like a fine wine.
...
Seriously though, the activity will slowly but steadily diminish over time. Bzpower will never be the king of the Bionicle community it once was, but it won't just die all of a sudden. The die-hard fans will keep it alive, if nothing else.

How close is this to what you're looking for?

I believe you're referring to MENOL, the fan-made Metru Nui Online game. It's still online, even: Link
You can explore the Archives in Onu-Metru, but it's only a part of the bigger whole.
I'm afraid it's not MeNOL either. Although maybe I'm thinking of the first version... was Onu-Metru ever released before they decided to remake the whole thing?
Now that you mention it, I do seem to remember an Archives section in the original too, and probably it was how you described it. Not 100% certain, but seems likely.

Interesting, this is the older version of the MeNOL. I remember playing it long ago when it came out, before they made the new and improved version. The old version was fun, but in terms of mechanics very difficult to play. It seems they only finished chapter 1 in this version, I wonder how the rest would've turned out...
It's amazing that the files are still online, haven't seen this stuff in years. Great find!
Bionicle: Mask of Light Soundtrack finally available

It's pretty much the entire movie as one, unified score, which is great. For someone like me who knows almost every line of dialogue in that movie by heart, listening to the soundtrack makes me recite the lines in my head. A very enjoyable soundtrack, and one that the community has long been hoping for. Definitely worth the money!
