  1. unfortunately i was too late for the brick I think I bought it mostly because I wanted to start topics in the Games & Trivia board. Back then that was restricted to premier members. (Note that you could ask a premier member to open a thread for you, but that was a hassle.) Keep in mind that the rules for G&T were way more broad than they seem to be now; it allowed roleplaying games.
  2. i swear i didn't do this on purpose and i have no idea why it's happened
  3. metal gear 2: solid snake; going on a kojima kick while i wait for the death stranding pc release just finished snatcher, and before that, metal gear next in line is policenauts
  4. i like to check back occasionally and reminisce about days when the internet was actually good
  5. i bought premier membership before you got a blog for it
  6. good god was this really after my very first infusion? thinking back i'm pretty sure it was. still getting em more than eleven years on. the more things change...
  7. mite b cool i've found myself coming back here occasionally lately. over the last year of my life or so i've spent a lot of time revisiting stuff that was important to me when i was younger, like an incredibly lame quarter-life crisis. and i guess it would be fun to reevaluate my taste in media circa the time i was 10 years old, especially since i didn't start being a sentient human being until i was, like, 16. i joined this site when i was 8. thankfully my childhood forum posts have been lost to time, but you can still see years of awful blog updates.
  8. currently playing baldur's gate: enhanced edition, as one of my periodic attempts to make myself like crpgs. there have been specific ones i've liked in the past - planescape: torment, which uses the same d&d 2.5 ruleset as baldur's gate and is built in the same game engine; as well as fallouts 1 and 2, both by planescape developer black isle - but the broader genre is something i've bounced off of. part of the problem is that i'm just not particularly smart, and i have neither the patience nor the desire to pore over the rulesets or come up with optimal builds. honestly i'm mostly killing time waiting for the halo: the master chief collection pc release
  9. i remember, back when bzpower had its strident "no advertising" policy, there was a particularly strict rivalry with mask of destiny. in fact, "mod" was word-filtered (even though there was nothing stopping you from, like, writing out the full name of the site, and the word "mod" had other applications)
  10. coward. i for one will be jumping on the pyre Why would I kid? A friend asked if they could run Gameboy games on their calculator, and so I tried to find out how. While the capabilities of Casio calculators proved incapable of running Gameboy games, the forum stuck around in my mind because it seems to use the same forum software we do. A strange phenomenon: One of the most active hours, from my view, at least, is 10 o'clock EST. It's rather strange. reminds me of how back in the day (by which i mean like 10th grade) i installed a gameboy emulator on my ti-84 so i could play pokemon there were graphical issues, since the ti-84 had a much lower res than the gameboy (96x64 vs 160x144), but it basically worked all right Was it a TI-84 Silver Edition? From what I remember, the ROM for Pokemon is rather large. yes it was
  11. Four pages of irony, here we come! Sir yes sir!Well, you're obviously not dead yet. I've seen you posting around recently. I myself can honestly admit that this is probably the most active stand-alone forum I've seen. I mean, we are faring much better than the Casio calculator forums. Besides, we could always just use the Mask of Life. I have a feeling that sub-forum will be around for a while as well. Casio calculator forums? You must be kidding. *checks* You're not. This is amazing. Why would I kid? A friend asked if they could run Gameboy games on their calculator, and so I tried to find out how. While the capabilities of Casio calculators proved incapable of running Gameboy games, the forum stuck around in my mind because it seems to use the same forum software we do. 12. good god where did the time go
  13. gimme the classic hands any day do they resemble hands? no. are they distinctive? yeah.
  14. since nobody has posted anything here since my last quasi-quarterly checkin, i'm going to say yeah this board alone used to get dozens of posts a day and now the front page has topics that no one has touched since february we really had ourselves a time though, didn't we
  15. 0/5 you literally joined after i left this site
  16. forums were pretty much a 2000s thing; the trend on the internet today is towards consolidation. i mean, just look at the massive increase in centralization between 2007 and 2009, and then again between 2009 and 2014, and it's only gotten worse since. and i mean i'm guilty of this too; this has been my first time on bzp in literal years (if nothing else it's been an interesting exercise in remembering how to communicate without profanity); i've mostly been using reddit and twitter, which are respectively the 6th and 12th most-browsed websites worldwide per alexa. it's so much easier than a forum, and the content is neverending. and since we're all addicted to content it's only natural that we'd gravitate towards the places where we can get our fill of it. the tradeoff, especially on twitter, is that it's curated by impenetrable algorithms rather than people and forming any sense of community is very difficult. you can't talk to an algorithm. you can't tell it what you don't like about it, and if you could it wouldn't care. i miss forums, but i don't see them coming back. which is a massive shame. i could also get really political with this but i think that's still against site rules so i won't
  17. oh hey this website still exists i just remembered it was a thing and i've been browsing and feeling nostalgia about the days when niche forums were a thing that existed and everyone didn't use twitter all the time looks pretty deceased to me though
  18. The new Bonkles storyline, should it be a reboot, will be massively hated by just about everyone Should it not be a reboot, there will still be a strong contingent of people who dislike it and refuse to accept it as canon BZP will be overwhelmed by the fighting over whether the old or new stuff is better YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
  19. It's funny how I went from loving the game when I made this entry to detesting it now
  20. It's funny because rereading this now I don't think I was hard enough on that game
  21. We exist because Tohu allows it, and we will end because he demands it.
  22. Articulates it a lot better than I could.
