  1. Thank you so much! Well to make the environment, no, no coding required. However I plan to make the final version a browser game in Unity using JavaScript and that DOES require coding. Thank you for the kind words! Masks is kind of lumped into the mask/character category but perhaps finding masks would be cool. The new game actually will take place after the rebuilding I think and you don't play as Takua Nor Hahli. I'll reveal later who
  2. Thanks! Like I had mentioned before is that this project is quite old, however, I plan on completely updating everything and making a ton of new assets. I will take the critique of the huts down in my notes though as an improvement that needs to be made
  3. Alright guys I updated the thread with the lot of pieces inventoried as well as crossed out sets that are currently unavailable (but may return!)
  4. Yeah Karzahni is kind of bottom tier on my want list. No offense to the dude, but the actual set was...erm...not my favorite Are the Stars new sets?
  5. I notice that a lot of people here are very creative type people because of Bionicle. That seems very interesting to me that Bionicle would flourish such an interesting generation of artists of all sorts!
  6. Hey guys! Sorry I took off for the weekend but now I'm back and will answer each question ! I'm only really looking to trade, but I did see your thread and have been watching it Really looking at trading, but I am interested int your stars sets unless you can give me a pretty convincing price for them. I will try and get a pic today with a SPECIFIC count of the pieces for you It was one of those tubs that was filled with pieces and maybe some extras. Also yes I was looking for both the titan and medium set of Mata-Nui. I like the idea of the unopened Vultraz. Are you willing to trade for it? Well I'm going to say $5 for the mediums, $11 for the titans and masks $1
  7. All excellent questions so I'll try and address them in order. 1. Not really a question but yes making the parts for something like this is definitely beneficial in a world like this. 2. Rigging is actually easiest in something like this. The hard part is the animating. If you watch the Bionicle movie you'll notice they re-engineered the Matoran to work in a way that makes sense. I too modified the Tohunga feet only slightly to still look like MNOLG but bend at the subtle knees they have. The main thing is to make sure that objects don't collide and there's no magic button for that except time and patience. 3.Yes, especially if I make Ga-Koro I HAVE to make the Tarakava. The hardest part will be the wheels but otherwise I have the parts. And now I also have Gali's claw from the Mahi so I don't have to do that! 4. I do have a degree in Game Art but I will tell you my projects were never this involved. See, Game Art school is something people treat as a "show me how to do it and I'll graduate and be good at it". What it really is, since it's art based, is "here's how to do it but it means nothing if you don't PRACTICE" and that's exactly what this was. Practice. In school I did a new project every week and honestly whether you're in school for that thing or not is a good practice to get into! Sorry for the longer than asked for answer but it's really important that I spent my summer doing this to better my craft instead of doing nothing. Plus, heavy stuff aside, IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! I mean building Bionicles was fun, but making the parts and doing it yourself was even more fun! And, for the record, I know that LDD allows you to download Bionicle parts including masks. I did not do that and I have worked with people who unfortunately have I made everything from scratch to work well with me and my rigging as well as doing small tweaks to make it MNOG styled!
  8. Thank you everyone for the kind words!
  9. I am. This is actually quite an old project so I'm thinking of scrapping the main file but keeping the assets, just retexturing them and resculpting some things. Ideally I'd make the whole of Mata-Nui but I think I'd get too burned out working consistently. I think I'll just tackle one village at a time, and probably make Ga-Koro since it's more simple.
  10. That seems like a pretty good idea actually
  11. This topic is incredible. I've ALWAYS wanted to create every '03 Matoran. If I can figure out how to make the Le-Matoran that would be incredible
  12. Hah at the LEGO Friends comparison. Also the Search for the Mask of Light
  13. They aren't a video game company. Lego is large corporation and a few leaks don't kill them, just scare them. To withdraw would be more detrimental to the company than making less than projected sales at this point I think.
  14. The Inika build wasn't that bad. I liked the Toa Inika when they first came out but it did become a bit redundant. The whole blaster thing was annoying too. Especially Kongu Mahri (RIP in peace you beautiful green monster). But seriously I think something completely new would be refreshing
  15. And give competitors time to launch their own counterstrikes? Exactly! I'm sure LEGO is kind of freaking out right now if the leaks are official.
  16. Story wise I'd say 2001-2004 Set wise...sheesh...probably 2006 and 2007 just because of how awesome everything looked. 2007 Brought a huge amount of individuality to the Barraki unlike any sets before.
  17. You'd want to get something that identifies Bionicle as a whole. Getting just a subsect series arc like Rahkshi or Bohrok would be cool but only temporarily. If Bionicle truly means something to you, I see nothing wrong with the 3 virtues or a kanohi Hau in gold or something. It's simple, identifies what your interest is, and I feel is like likely to make you feel terrible in many years. I have no desire to get tattoos because as an artist I go through phases of liking then hating stuff. However, I would probably want a Hau on my right deltoid just because of it's aesthetics and coolness factor. What color, I don't know but I'm thinking gold
  18. Granted (geez). But it only works on you and no one else...and you can't take it off. I wish I had a 3D printer (pretty simple wish compared to the one I just granted hah)
  19. I don't really understand the skepticism. I mean, for 10 years I saw people see leaks of Nuva "Fake and terrible" Leaks of Rahkshi "Fake they all look the same" Leaks of Toa Metru "SO fake why would the turaga be toa? Try harder" and so on. Honestly, being on a hype train is fun because even if it turns out it was nothing (which I doubt) the community pooled together with some really awesome ideas, conversations, and made new connections. I've been back for 2 days in like 5 years and already have been connecting with so many people who are all much older and yest still the same. I think Bionicle will come back, and if you are discouraged by the thought of crushing disappointment well then I say throw caution to the wind because what fun is life if you're too scared? And it's not like it's a huge deal anyways. Bionicle comes back, yay. Bionicle doesn't come back well then we move on and continue to let Bionicle be a huge part of our lives!
  20. Kind of agree except genwunners/setwunners would be like Toa Mata are better than Toa Inika. Bionicle returning with Hero Factory parts and completely retcon the story would be like if Gamefreak said ok the story of Pokemon (hah) is too complicated so lets start ALL OVER to square 1. Then you would have over 20 years of established fans arguing with new fans (and yes they would definitely argue). Same with Bionicle. There are 13 years of established fans of Bionicle and to reboot COMPLETELY would definitely in my opinion spark some controversy. The established fans can't forget what we already know and the new fans can't help not knowing. It looks grim but really if everyone just opens up and is polite then the community will thrive. Otherwise, the divide will be great (as in large not excellent).
  21. That's really quite an amazing story, the both of you. I think Bionicle really inspires a lot of people and helps them escape. Since we grew up with it, it's more of an escape than video games or movies (which I still love regardless) but I take my collection out frequently and with each one a very specific memory. Also, Lady Kopaka, perhaps one day you can return and get your degree! I am now a professional digital sculptor and can only hope one day that I could create a world just as rich and amazing as Bionicle. To see how Bionicle has inspired so many people must mean something to it's creators and I hope to achieve the same.
  22. Granted. But now you're too cool and no one hangs out with you because they are intimidated. I wish I had enough money to RIGHT NOW complete my Bionicle collection.
  23. Thank you very much! These kind words mean a lot to me The sketchiness I was trying to style after Stuart Sayger's Ignition comics which I LOVE! I can't get enough of his Bionicle work, not to mention his DC work as well. Haha well steam always look cool but if I'm not mistaken, one of the old Vahki animations had one blowing steam out of it's "nose". And yeah I gave Mavrah a purple Pakari but he has black feet (though you can't see them in the pic). The original idea was I was going to make this into a comic about Mavrah but ended up working on another comic of an original idea. Maybe one day I'll get back to it
  24. These are all such enlightening posts. I must agree with getting involved with the story. It was amazing to have such a cool and unique story and a toy to go along with it. I was a huge reader so this was a cool double enjoyment for me. I remember when Vakama told the Toa Nuva that they weren't the first Toa in the comic (I still have it). Those pages are so worn from me reading it so much but stuff like that was amazing to me as a child.
