Besides... isn't a desert an ideal place to test such a vehicle? Open spaces... No mountains ready to stab the poor vehicle...

The desert is a little further out. We live on a mountain, where they "tested" the vehicle. If the desert so ideal, why test it here?

Maybe it was an experimental craft waiting for the escort fighters?

 

While I do indeed believe in extraterrestrial life, I have reservations on alien UFOs, preferring the more mundane but equally mysterious government aircraft logic.

I've tried that tecnique before, but I can never get the lines perfectly like yours.
