  1. I don't blame Arya; I would boot Eragon too. Of course, then again, he's the only one who's single-handedly proved that you can lie in the Ancient Language. Anyone who's read Eragon's talks with Arya in Eldest, keeping in mind that they're all in Elvish, will know what I'm talking about.

Eragon: Don't worry, I won't follow you anymore.

    *Arya walks away*

    *Eragon follows*

    Eragon: D'oooooh...Pwitty...

    :w:

  2. Callow, young, blonde-headed farm boy destined to save the world from the evil Empire by joining an ancient and long-dead order of peacekeepers. No, I'm not talking about Luke Skywalker. I'm talking about the stupidest, most self-centred hero in the history of storytelling—in fact, the very definition of a Gary Stu.

Quote from a site that reviews bad movies. And that's just the beginning of it. :P

Speaking of which, Eragon got a 200-something on a Marty-Stu test in which 50 was really bad. Aahahaha!

  3. I may be out of line, but IMHO, the hallmark of a good prank is being able to take in people for a given amount of time--for BZP, the day. I think that shutting down LGD and COT was a good prank; it was outrageous yet perfectly believable, and the truth wasn't revealed until the next day. No one could prove that it was a prank until the makers came out and said it.

And all those people who live in COT got to come and enjoy what BZP is really about. =P

  4. A change of name is a change of personality. We like the ol' xccj thank you very much.

    I agwee.

And if you pick Xdeath, prepare for a lawsuit by Square Enix. That was the name of one of their FF final bosses. :P

  5. Ironically, I'm concerned about pain (although I can take a fair amount. What I'm talking about is having limbs sawed off), but not death.

Oh, and that one about windows and bullets? You've watched to many movies with snipers in them. :P

  6. I agree with you entirely. Now I get to explain why people use the term "Nazi" as an insult.

There's this thing called the "Hitler Card", that is, when someone makes a comparison to Hitler or the Nazis. When people do this, they do indeed shatter the opponent's argument for the moment. Everyone does indeed know what Hitler did, and so they say "This guy = Hitler, Hitler = bad, ergo, this guy = bad. Don't listen to him." No matter how reasonable the guy is. People know this stuff, which is why they call people Nazis.

Of course, yes, like you said, it does indeed backfire and then make the person who used it look like an cool dude. Which, ironically, is exactly what happened to Hitler in WWII.

So its potency does not come from people not knowing what it means, it comes from people knowing what it means.
