  1. That would be great; while I prefer the RPG model SPM's gameplay is not bad in the least and is a very fun game. A sequel would be great, maybe they could flesh out SPM into its own series, sort of like they did with Super Mario Land or Super Mario World. -TN05
  2. So I just finished playing through it again, probably about the fourth or fifth time I've played through it. Finishes my playthroughs of all three of the games in the series, which is good. I gotta say, I think SP really gets too much hate and is very under-appreciated. It has its flaws, sure, and is probably my least favorite game in the Paper Mario series, but it is by no means bad. It has a very deep plot, no doubt the best in the Paper Mario series, and Count Bleck is one of the best villains in the Mario series and probably my personal favorite Mario villain. The music is great - in particular, the Sammer's Kingdom, Count Bleck, final battle and Super Dimentio battle themes - as are the design and humor. The gameplay, while different, is enjoyable. If you haven't ever played it I highly recommend it. All that aside, I'm excited for Paper Mario 3DS. Paper Mario is one of my favorite video game series and I'm glad to see it go back to the turn-based RPG style. -TN05
  3. Never got why people don't treat asexuals as they would so eagerly support gay rights. Asexuals are people too, right? I don't care for sex at all and I don't see how that's a problem. -TN05
  4. A very sad day indeed... The internet has lost one of its greatest stars. You and your trololos will be missed, Eduard Khil. -TN05

I want to get OoT at some point but I don't want to use an emulator or shell out 20 bucks on virtual console for it. I have an N64 (and some classic games for it) and that would be the ideal choice, but the cost would be pretty large. 3DS is the best bet once I get one. Dang, I liked the missions on MKDS. It took me forever to get one star one each of them. The glider looks pretty cool, but I'm not sure the 3DS is compatable with the access point at my house. Online is essential and I want to make absolutely sure I can use it. -TN05
  6. RBN only works for Xbox and PS3 versions and you have to wait thirty days after the song's release date on Xbox if you use the PS3 version... Wii isn't supported at all. Just a heads up to you bronies. -TN05
  7. Sure, it shouldn't be completely marketed to little kids, just as the sets aren't. But with that said, making it PG-13 would still eliminate almost two thirds of the sets' recommended audience (ages 6-12), and that's pointless. There exist lots of G-rated and PG-rated movies that all ages can enjoy, so it's silly to suggest a lower rating makes the movie unenjoyable for older viewers. On the other hand, a higher rating does make it unenjoyable-- in fact, without parental approval, unwatchable-- for younger viewers.Perhaps there are some older viewers who find themselves unable to enjoy G-rated or PG-rated films, but if they think TLG has something to gain by pandering to them at the expense of their core audience, then they're in need of a reality check. But that assumes most people care about the ratings, which really isn't the case. There are plenty of bad PG-13 movies that kids shouldn't even get close to, but there are PG-13 movies like Lord of the Rings or the Spider-Man movies which are rated so mostly for violence and are rather appropriate for kids. The ratings don't really decide what parents let their kids watch, parents do, and if they saw a Hero Factory movie rated PG-13 for 'fantasy violence' I doubt they would all decide not to watch it. -TN05
  8. Yep, and why would one bother making a factory that creates heroes if there is no genuine risk to the public? Not disagreeing there, but part of having an interesting villain is not just a good persona but an interesting motive and/or goal. And to get that goal, the villain must be willing to cause real harm. A great villain can be useless if he isn't willing to carry out his goal. You are right on - a hero the audience can connect with is something that is needed. There are some admittedly interesting heroes, but if they don't develop or connect with the audience it really hurts the character as a whole. I see your point; I suppose a large-scale climax could do that as well as be a deus ex machina type issue. I'm not saying fill it with them, but use it in the right situation - reference something in a clever way, such as in Toy Story where Buzz thinks he is carrying the plans to stop the construction of the Death Star. It adds humor and reinforces Buzz's delusional personality at that point. A character, for example, might be a clever parody of the stereotypical sci-fi villain, or a situation might mirror that of a sci-fi film. Not a total rip-off, but a clever addition that adults and teens could appreciate and understand. Of courses, jokes as you say are also good and could reinforce the character as a whole. -TN05
  9. It's a shame such a good idea as Hero Factory will likely result in a bad movie. There's a whole genre of sci-fi to parody and, as Toy Story showed, it can be done in a kid-friendly way while still being at the very least tolerable to adults or teens. Low budget shouldn't mean poor plot.
  10. There's no reason this will actually happen and I really don't like HF, but I'll give what I think would make a HF movie worth watching: Actual risk - That is, there needs to be something at stake. Maybe the villain could take over a planet or hold it hostage. Perhaps the villains want something to create an evil weapon. Just have something interesting at stake. Interesting villains - And no, having a traitor is not interesting in and of itself. What I'm wanting is an interesting villain. Perhaps it could be an space terrorist who thinks the Hero Factory is an oppressive force on the populace of the universe, and thus his actions are for what he thinks is the noble cause of freedom. Maybe the villain wants to take over the Hero Factory and reprogram the Heroes to carry out his (evil) will. Additionally, he should be willing to kill to get his goal - not anything graphic, but a truly evil villain is much better than one who doesn't really do anything evil. Interesting heroes - There are supposedly hundreds of thousands of heroes. Why do they all have to be stereotypical characters? Give the heroes an actual, solid personality and have interesting, not cliched or stereotypical, traits. Large-scale conflict - The Hero Factory is supposedly able to deal with threats around the universe, so why limited to one planet or one-on-one combat? Have space warfare. Have a conflict between hundreds of heroes and hundreds of villains. No stupid one liners - Have intelligent pop culture references, not bad one-liners. There are plenty of movies, television shows, and comics to tease, parody, or make fun of, and dumb one-liners really add nothing to a movie. -TN05
  11. I guess if you want to make a live-action movie off a LEGO line, using the one that has very little story works. I cabn't wait to see how inevitably awful this will be due to the pretty much required aspect of the 'robot war' genre - humans. I really expect this to be a Transformers knockoff, which would mean good box office numbers but horrible reviews.I do admit, I loved the 2007 Transformers movie and that had humans, but Transformers has always included humans as an important story element. Hero Factory hasn't. There is potential for this to be a solid movie if they made it a fun epic space warfare movie that doesn't take itself too seriously, but I really doubt LEGO would allow it to be such a movie due to their violence policy - I mean, we never got to see the Toa really use their elemental powers to directly attack enemies in the BIONICLE movies. I see no reason why LEGO would somehow view explosive weapons any differently. I doubt this will work because, putting aside the many, many shortcomings of Hero Factory, LEGO simply won't allow it to be a movie with epic space fights and I doubt they'd put too many jokes teens or adults would find funny. This is doomed for failure, unfortunately, although it will probably do respectably when compared to other kid's adventure movies.-TN05
  12. So I'm on vacation at Holden Beach right now... Maybe I'll get some work done on my comics or Treason. Or not.
  13. I think it's a bit unfair to peg a movie as being PG-13 without explaining why. LOTR got the rating soley due to epic fantasy violence, while Star Wars had similar rating with the addition of the Anakin/Padme plot. Jurassic Park and Inidiana Jones are better examples, mainly due to the more mature nature of those movies.I'm not too surprised they rejected a Firefly proposal, though, mainly due to the public apathy to it; it has a large fanbase but no real outside support, similar to how Chuck fared in its TV run. LEGO is a company and their main goal is profit; they aren't going to try something that probably won't make much money.-TN05

    3Ds

@Aanchir - I'll have to look into Mario Land; it seems to be a great game. @Lyichir - I've never played OoT, but how is the Mario Kart? I had the DS version but it got old rather quick to me. @ET - I'd say they all look good, yeah. @GSR - Oh, absolutely; I've played the original and Super Paper Mario, but TTYD is still my favorite.

I was initially skeptical about the 3DS but Paper Mario 3DS, Animal Crossing 3DS and a sequel to Luigi's Mansion are more than enough to warrant buying one, methinks.
  16. I can't believe I forgot about this series - reading these through, the humor is just as fresh as when these were made. The pop culture/meme reference make it even better - Ackar yelling 'It's a trap' was both fitting for the scene and hilarious.-TN05
  17. These comics never cease to amaze me - the humor was, as always, superb, and the bizarre superheroes were beyond hilarious. The best part was by far the Joker table, though. This plot arc is getting funnier the more absurd it gets...-TN05
  18. Just a quick update on the comics: *Plot and characters are all complete, essentially. I still have to write scripts for the plot comics at least, so no comics are being made currently. *Background and sprite work is still in progress. While I have the characters, I have no spritesheets yet for most of them, nor do I have many backgrounds. *I am debating between either Razor or Chimoru Sigma as the primary spritesheet for my comics. Any input or help on this would be welcome. *I will allow regular guest stars in this series, although I still need to work on the format. No launch date is confirmed yet, but I hope to at least have a teaser by July. -TN05

I'll probably be online all weekend long, so you know where to find me. :P

  21. Haha, what a horrible choice of name. "That quote doesn't even make any sense in this context" and "I'm okay, the concrete broke my fall" are just brilliant lines.-TN05

    Updates

Treason's ending will be pushed back to March. I know nobody reads it anymore, but I want to finish it well. There will be probably one or two chapters, counting an epilogue - hopefully the chapter will be quite large, so expect something good. Also, little progress has been made on the comics. I have a rough idea as to what I want to do, but am still in character development and scripting modes. I can tell you this much - the comics will not be the run-of-the-mill studio comics stuff. Nothing against that, but I am going for something different. If you want more info as to what I am going for, feel free to PM me or reach me elsewhere. -TN05
  23. I've tried, but you aren't on whenever I have tried. -TN05
  24. Hey everybody, I just wanted to give an update on my comics series and Treason. *First off, I'm going to be working on a reboot of my comics series with my brother, which some of you know on here as 'AnakinFan'. We'll try and get a script done for the first series in a couple weeks. Any PGS characters are free to reapply, but these comics won't be related very much to any of my old series. *Treason will be finished by the end of February, with a hopeful aim of 2 more chapters and an epilogue. I may or may not write a sequel/prequel if there is demand for one. Rest assured it won't have nearly as many main characters in it. That's all for now, but be on the lookout for these in the future. If you were a TN05's Comics PGS, I'll send a PM out soon asking if you want to stay on. -Toa Nidhiki05
