  1. Well, have you ever posted any of your drawings here for critique? They may not be as bad as you think. CoKK has always claimed to be awful at drawing, but he showed Kumata and I an image of Hivemind that was pretty darn good, even though he thought it was terrible. (Kumata's drawing of her isn't too much different, actually.) Artists are their own worst critics; I think you should see what other people think of your artwork before you say it's not that good.

And if everybody else thinks it needs to improve, they'll all still be more than willing to tell you what you can do to fix the issues. That's what I've always liked about the art community of BZP; everyone's always friendly and helpful.

For a week the Earth had been seiged by an alien force known as the Technax Armada. Technax had come to Earth seeking a powerful artefact held by Silver: the Royal Crystal of the long-dead planet Crystax. During the invasion heroes and villains alike were forced to work together to hold off the attacking forces. Finally a group of heroes were able to band together and, boarding Silver's sentient spacecraft Epsilon, travel up to the Armada Mothership. They battled their way past all manner of guardians so they could confront Technax himself. Since Silver was amongst the group and held the Royal Crystal on his person, Technax initiated the firing of the mothership's ultimate weapon, the Extinction Cannon, which would obliterate Earth. Whilst the majority of heroes fought Technax, Silver and Sluice travelled to the Extinction Cannon's power source. Both groups managed to disable the shielding surrounding the power source. Silver then revealed that he planned to use his powers to destroy the power source, which would create a backlash of energy which should destroy the cannon. With too little time to come up with an alternative, the heroes were forced to flee whilst Silver made his sacrifice. An incredible burst of energy destroyed the cannon, and began spreading outwards in all directions, consuming the mothership. The heroes boarded Epsilon and began their escape...

  3. Blender is not hard. Blender is complex.

    An encouraging thought...

    at best, i can say:

-i designed Kojol by using 2x2x2 (standard) cubes. a "ball" piece is a subsurf 1 cube. each "bionicle unit" (a hand socket is 3 units long, 1 thick, 2 wide at it's widest) is one cube lenght. long hip sockets are 7 units long, or 14 blender units. use this for reference all the time, and you will get Bionicle with the right proportion

-bionicle is quite blocky. Blender has tools (smooth, subsurf, bevel) that can make softer corners with ease. therefore, it's easier to start blocky and use these tools for smoothing.

-make one object per bionicle piece. my Kojol mask was 5 pieces, since i designed it in 5 pieces. BTW Eeko, i made 1 piece the parent of all others, so they would follow regardless.

-quite miraculously, pin holes add a Bionicle feel.

    -holes add Bionicle feel.

    -try to either:

1: base pieces on existing pieces

2: use aforementioned cubes to set out the size and general shape of the piece, and then simply connect them.

in Blender, size does not matter, since you can easily resize. it's proportion.

-for rather interesting smooth shapes, take a cube, extrude 2 opposite sides, but make the extruded distance 0. thus, *select face* *E* *0* *Enter* then subsurf.

Okay, I think this'll help. I do have a few questions, though:

    1. How do you make pinholes?

    2. How do you make an object symmetrical?

    3. Are there any in-depth tutorials that you know of that could really help?

Well, if you go to the Blender site, they have a section of tutorials. I recommend the wikibook; that's how I'm learning.

And Devak, as far as pinholes go, I would say they look really out of place on a Makuta, who is supposed to be one solid piece of armor. I always imagined that when they had their armor lined by the Nynrah Ghosts, they had all those holes blocked so that their antidermis wouldn't fall out. After all, it would be hard to keep a gas in armor that looked like swiss cheese. :P

  4. Awsome, Greg. I noticed that a lot of the EL interaction ended up in Riddle of the Great Beings, but it would have been great to have seen them. Especially the Plant Lord's face watching them walk off. Purely epic!

Also, you must, must, MUST keep the dino bit. It made the whole thing, besides the ELs. Bionicle Dinosaurs would be AWESOME! :happydance:

  5. I was actually going to question the validity of that myself, and I too thought the Hagah Spears would be mentioned. :P Though, now that you mention that, if Greg has a BS01 account, that brings up the question of why exactly he hasn't added the info himself, if it's canon...

    Any thoughts on that, Greg?

See if you are able to clear this up for me, greg.

If Mata-Nui IS the matoran universe, what is the ocean that he is rising out from,

and what covers the rest of that planet?

And how can there be a universe on a planet, though I could see how you might use the

"earth microbe in big being" explanation.

The Matoran Universe is the Domes Universe, which lies inside Mata Nui. It was originally believed that the Matoran Universe was simply underground on the planet, but apparently it was in Mata Nui. So, he is rising from the ocean on the surface of the planet, which is the only thing covering the planet.

    1. I picked up on that when you threw that number out randomly before.

    2. At this point, that's almost common knowlegde.

    3. Now that is something new and interesting. I never would have guessed that in a million years.

    4. I just asked you that question, actually. I love the answer.

    5. Interesting.

    6-9. Nothing special.

    Nice info.

  8. I hope whoever gets appointed to those positions has lots of online-time, Kraggh, or simply can keep good tabs on the RPG.

As for roles in RPGs, I find that I love creating villains. I have an easier time connecting with them for some reason. Examples are in both of the only two RPGs I can stay active in - To Save the World! and Reality. I think the better example is in the first, however.

  9. A BIONICLE MAP?! *Bounces off walls and ceiling with excitement, then lands neatly and straightens tie* Ahem.

*puts tape in radio* A merry, merry unbirthday to you, to you...

    Again, Ahem.

Congrats on the house, and good luck at the meeting. Sounds like sales are doing prety good. :)

  10. Hey, I've got an idea. How about in the message subject, we all put in the number of the questions we're asking; that way, Greg knows which are shorter, and he can answer those in the morning, and longer ones when he has more time. How does this sound? :)

Brilliant idea! I'll do that from now on. How to spread the news, though? :P

I usually can't come up with too many questions at a time, and I check the OGD constantly, so most of my questions are answered before I even send them.

    Take what you can,

    Give nothin back!
