  1. IC: (NPC - Doctor Om)"What you have to keep in mind is that the UN is the only - human - government entity that the League has allied itself with," Doctor Om explained patiently. "There is not a government in the world that would risk losing the only sway they have over the League by going behind our backs. If we broke ties with the UN, we'd be completely rogue, and there's not a thing anyone could do about it. The League holds that position of power over the UN, and they're not about to put us in a situation where we'll use it."Not to mention that it is far more likely that they would have denied the existence of Lockdown had it been something they didn't want us to know about. They didn't; they simply told the League that they would rather keep it confidential. When you think about it, word travels fast through the League; in a day, half the world could know about Lockdown if they let it slip to us."I am far more concerned about the fact that Lady Hexas knew anything about a project that even our most skilled techs can't find mention of in the most secure UN databases," he continued. "She had to have learned it from someone involved, but no one with clearance to relay the details to her, or she wouldn't have tried to ransom a city for it. And whenever there's foul play involved, things get messy."~ Rumpelstiltskin
  2. IC: (Loadstone)As they hovered into the clearing, suddenly there was a shift in the electromagnetic field. Namely, that of keeping out an electronic signal, and that of holding one in."The signal's coming from somewhere here," Loadstone announced. "It's already inside the dome; that ought to drive any animals in here into a frenzy, but we should be blocking it from escaping to the rest of the forest. Nil, see if you can find where the signal's coming from so we can shut it down."IC: (NPC - Doctor Om)"I seriously doubt that the subject of those files is supersoldier engineering," Doctor Om said. "It was the UN that passed the Supersoldier Prohibition Treaty, which forbids the employment of any superhuman in a military capacity. If any nation were to break that treaty, the League is granted full authority to step in and neutralize any and all supersoliders, at which point jurisdiction is returned to the UN. Of course, it's the worst-kept secret in the business that the US government actively engages in genetic engineering, but any superhumans they create are either turned loose or employed in internal agencies, which is well within the bounds of the treaty."Dr. Om cleared his throat. "My point is, the UN is refusing to share Operation Lockdown with the League, so it's very likely that it has nothing to do with supersoldiers. And in any event, unless they decide to break every law of probability I know, they don't intend to share Lockdown with us any time soon. We're as in the dark about it as you are."~ Rumpelstiltskin
  3. IC: (Loadstone)As Loadstone felt Magneta take hold of the magnetic portion of the field, he slowly relinquished his hold on it and amped up the electricity to match. At this point, no longer holding a full electromagnetic field, it was difficult to tell whether or not the signal was still cutting through or not, but if he'd had to guess he would have said it was cut down to a low buzz."The field's in place!" Loadstone called down. "How are the animals reacting?"X-Calibur shoved aside a rabbit with his boot, numbers and information streaming across his HUD. The effects of the duo's field were not immediately visible, but it seemed that some of the larger creatures were keeping a greater distance than before. "It's fending off the bears, at least!" he called back up. "The signal must be more irritating to the smaller creatures." Which would make sense, he thought, as they're more timid then the larger predators.OOC: We'll be making it to the base next time I post.IC: (NPC - Doctor Om)"You'll be able to register in the sublevels," Doctor Om told Tragedy. "Normally it's an automated process, but given the name you go by they may run a background check before you're approved..."~ Rumpelstiltskin
  4. IC: (Loadstone)Loadstone furrowed his brow and concentrated. A ball of electromagnetic energy formed above him, slowly spreading out into a dome around the party. It was quickly apparent what Loadstone had warned Magneta about - unlike a dome of magnetic energy, which would have been formed with a solid sheet of magnetic field, this had a more crosshatched pattern. The screen of magnetic energy pulsed and stretched around an unfelt force, a complex flickering that would have been dizzying to watch, had it been visible. From Loadstone's point of view, the dome was a solid field of electromagnetic energy, both knit together into a solid curtain. He could feel some form of interference coming from the direction of the base, but it still passed through the field. Once Magneta helped him amplify it, though, the shield would hopefully be strong enough to block the signal.IC: (NPC - Doctor Om)"My visions can be very specific at times," Doctor Om replied cryptically. "Your presence here can spark several different timelines, however, so I'd prefer to err on the side of caution and pretend I know nothing about why you are here, other than that you are."~ Rumpelstiltskin
  5. IC: (Loadstone)"Yeah, I think," Loadstone called down, turning toward Magneta. "Alright, I'm not sure how familiar you are with how magnetism interacts with electricity, so I'll generate an electromagnetic field. Follow my lead and amplify the magnetic currents, and once you have that I'll back out and only supply the electricity. Sound good?"IC: (NPC - Doctor Om)"Suit yourself," Doctor Om replied. "Speaking of the devil, Omega should round that corner in three, two, one..."The glowing Superhuman marched straight down the hallway at them, lost in thought and oblivious to their presence. Doctor Om stepped to the side, fully aware Omega would have bowled him over otherwise, and clapped him on the shoulder just forcefully enough to get his attention. "How comes the nanobot research, Omega?" That was hardly the topic he intended to talk about, but knowing how preoccupied he was with his current task Doctor Om decided he'd hold Omega's attention longer if he started with a different subject.~ Rumpelstiltskin
  6. IC: (NPC - Doctor Om)"A great many things, I'm sure," Doctor Om replied casually, only a touch of mirth bubbling through. "Are any of them pertinent? Perhaps. For example, I've been aware of your arrival for two days; I knew that you would arrive together by last night; and I became aware that I would meet with you directly early this morning. I don't believe either of you introduced yourselves; I'm Doctor Om."Doctor Om led the two into the mansion, past a grumbling Hero in a silver and white costume adorned with a crystalline pattern who held open the door. He glared at Doctor Om as he passed; though his mirrored visor shielded his eyes, the cast of his face spoke volumes.~ Rumpelstiltskin
  7. OOC: Hivemind is currently in limbo, along with Gap and all the Coalition NPCs that were present at the Sinful Saloon. Negafire, Gadgeteer and co. escaped with Romulus and Madness.Mystic is part of the Michigan group, which is currently hiking through the forest, being swarmed by forest animals that have been stirred up by an electronic signal. We're fending off wildlife until I can get a better handle on present characters, at which point I'll actually get you guys to the Coalition base and some super/super action can begin. OOC: The way I understand what Kumata told me, the Coalition set up a device that's emitting a signal that irritates the local wildlife, and their response is to attack anybody in the vicinity. They're really just trying to hamper our progress and wear out anyone trying to sneak up on them. With Magneta's powerset, there's not really much she can do... OOC: Sure, I'm not averse to scrounging up a plot for the guys lounging around League HQ. If thelonewander and Kahinuva are interested, I'll bring them down and we can get started.IC: (Loadstone)X-Calibur ducked as a blast of electricity sailed past his head, striking a group of racoons attempting to scurry in underfoot. The smell of singed fur filled the air. "How much farther to the base?" he called up to Magneta and Loadstone.IC: (NPC - Doctor Om)"Well, you've certainly come to the right place," Doctor Om responded. "And only slightly behind schedule, whatever Allsight may think," he added under his breath, not intending for them to hear. "Right this way, please. You'll have to excuse the renovations, we recently had a bit of a conflict in the mansion proper."OOC: I'm considering dropping Soundless and replacing him with a different character. There are several candidates for the replacement, but I'll hold off until I can actually find a character I'll use. ~ Rumpelstiltskin
  8. OOC: Kumata decided to take a leave of absence and left me in charge of the Michigan forest plot. Skyra blew a hole through the wall and we started making our way toward where the base should be. Nil sensed a signal eminating from the bases' vicinity, and suddenly swarms of animals started attacking us.Speaking of which, can I get a head count of who's still around for that plot/waiting on something to do? I have characters belonging to Kumata, myself, Half-Dragon, Ymper Trymon, Toa Korkoa, Chronicler of Ko-Koro, Legolover-361, Zyke the destroyer, Tyler Durden, and King Snelly. I'd be more than happy to toss an NPC your way. Give me a moment...IC: (NPC - Doctor Om)As the two Heroes turned toward the mansion, the doorway opened and a middle-aged man with graying brown hair and a thick, neatly-trimmed beard stepped out. He wore an extravagant royal purple suit with a golden cape, vest, and gloves. His gloves, boots, and utility belt were all embroidered with silver thread. He wore reflective black sunglasses and a small smile."Do you two plan on standing out here for the rest of the day?" the man asked. "Allsight's been waiting by the door for twenty minutes, grumbling about how late you are. He seems to have a hard time reconciling what should be with what is, but you're here now, and that's what matters. I believe you're both looking for the League?"~ Rumpelstiltskin
  9. Congrats to everyone involved. Glad to see the entries I voted for won (or the entries I would have voted for, had I not entered in the Vakama category ). Wish I was going to Brickfair so I could see the actual cutouts; can't wait to see the pictures of them!~ Rumpelstiltskin
  10. OOC: Yes folks, you read that right, Rumpelstiltskin has reappeared from yet another unannounced absence. I ended up taking a class this last month that ate up all of my free time; while I'm at it I really need lessons in motivation and time management. @HD - I actually had that message pop up for me a few times, but it never lasted more than a day or two. I'd be interested in learning what exactly the glitch is, when you get everything straightened out on your end.I realize Loadstone's been a bit unresponsive to the plot, so let me recap everything here:IC: (Loadstone)"Sure thing, boss," Loadstone said, waiting for X-Calibur to climb onto the magnaboard. "You might want to hold on, though; this could be a little bumpy." And without further warning, the magnaboard shot forward into the forest, leveling off at a height that seemed to be clear of the shorter brush and just shy of the taller tree's branches. There were a fair number of twists and spins as Loadstone maneuvered them around what obstacles were in their way, but they quickly made up the distance between the jet and the others.Loadstone slowed them down as they approached the others, lowering the magnaboard enough for X-Calibur to hop off and then landing himself, propping the metal surfboard against a tree while he listened to the others recount what had happened and determine what to do next.Without waiting for Skyra to blast down the wall, Loadstone climbed back onto the magnaboard and offered to carry Magneta with him. The two flew up over the wall as the others filed through Skyra's gap, surveying the scene from a bird's eye view. Speaking of birds, from his higher vantage point Loadstone had noticed that the birds in this forest were much more restless than usual. He'd fought Villains who could manipulate birds before, so he was suspicious of foul play (or fowl play, if you will), but figured he was just being paranoid and ignored them. When the animals started going haywire, Loadstone released a magnetic pulse into the flock of birds. An interesting note about birds is that their impeccable sense of direction comes from the ability to read the Earth's magnetic field - a direct blast like that ought to scatter them and disorient them long enough to buy the others some time.Meanwhile, on the ground, Sugar Rush helped fend off some of the other animals, yellow auras of energy surrounding her hands as she launched miniscule energy bolts at a group of squirrels that didn't seem to understand the concept of 'personal space.'OOC: My apologies if I missed replying to anyone else.~ Rumpelstiltskin
  11. Please correct me if I'm wrong here, but I'm pretty sure that you can draw Jaller in any form......As long as his element is still fire, though. - From the first post: ~ Rumpelstiltskin
  12. Here's my (semi-)last minute entry:Member name: RumpelstiltskinEntry Category: TuragaEntry URL: http://www.majhost.c...raga_vakama.pngoptional:Thumbnail URL: http://www.majhost.c...rk/ffcthumb.pngTopic: http://www.bzpower.c...?showtopic=6058~ Rumpelstiltskin
  13. Alright, so I managed to get something done before the contest deadline tonight; I don't think I've ever entered a contest before the last day. Anyway, here's my entry in the Turaga Vakama category: I always intended to enter this contest, but I've been so busy lately that I didn't get a chance to start until Thursday. I originally intended to draw Tahu, but in the end I figured it was probably easier to do one of the other two, and Turaga Vakama's always been one of my favorite characters anyway...This started off in pencil and ink, then went through a rigorous Photoshoping. I'm especially pleased with how his mask came out. I've never understood why there was so little resemblance between the Great and Noble Hunas, so I added a few details from the Great Huna to bridge that gap.Hope y'all like it. ~ Rumpelstiltskin
  14. Oddly enough, the same could be said of your avatar...~ Mr. Gold
  15. I can't decide which is more awesome, that armor or that throne...~ Mr. Gold
  16. For some reason, that looks like a realistic interpretation of a Bohrok.~ Mr. Gold
  17. That's downright Lovecraftian, that's what that is.~ Mr. Gold
  18. Never conjure where you carve; that's very important.

  19. Well, have you ever posted any of your drawings here for critique? They may not be as bad as you think. CoKK has always claimed to be awful at drawing, but he showed Kumata and I an image of Hivemind that was pretty darn good, even though he thought it was terrible. (Kumata's drawing of her isn't too much different, actually.) Artists are their own worst critics; I think you should see what other people think of your artwork before you say it's not that good. And if everybody else thinks it needs to improve, they'll all still be more than willing to tell you what you can do to fix the issues. That's what I've always liked about the art community of BZP; everyone's always friendly and helpful. ~ Rumpelstiltskin
  20. "Yes, that's what they used to call me. Ninja the Gray. I am Ninja the White."~ Rumpelstiltskin
  21. Two Toads wearing shades. I'm sensing a theme here... He is Rumpelstiltskin. Where he is and what he's holding are Once Upon a Time spoilers:~ Rumpelstiltskin
  22. He's holding the mystic golden triangles of doom. Run!~ Rumpelstiltskin
  23. IC: (Loadstone)"Sure thing," Loadstone replied to X-Calibur. "I guess that ride will have to wait," he added apologetically to Magneta.IC: (NPC - Mr. Mystery)The doppelganger Mysterys all vanished save for one, who raised an arm and easily deflected the oncoming flames. "Do you expect me to be impressed?" was all that he had to say."People like you sicken me. Anyone who professes to be a 'Hero' is nothing more than a self-righteous hypocrite. You are all so secure in your black and white reasoning that you fail to see a single shade of gray. I envision the world with different laws, different hierarchies; I act upon those different parameters, and I am called evil for it. Your governments cost lives every day; they steal your money, oppress your people, and disrespect you 'Heroes,' and yet they are lauded as the pinnacle of society. But the Coalition, we are branded as Villains. Where is the justice in that?"You may call me evil; I call myself revolutionary. If you can't see that, then it's your problem, not mine. Because the entire Coalition is about to come crashing down on you." He swiveled around to address those Coalition members still present. "You heard the man. He's a Hero." He pointed toward N-Ber for those who may have misunderstood him. "You all know what we do to Heroes; get him."The temperature of the air around N-Ber suddenly plummeted, rapidly dipping below freezing. Ice began to form on the floor around him, and the Hero began to feel a strain as Mr. Mystery's cryokinetic powers tried to negate N-Ber's pyrokinetic ones....OOC: MM's no Frigid, but he's hoping to immobilize N-Ber so that other Coalition members can take him out.~ Rumpelstiltskin
  24. Alias: AquariusReal Name: That's classified, thank you very much.Superpower: Ability to manipulate water in all of its formsAllegiance: SuperHeroAppearance:This is actually my SuperVillain character from To Save the World!; he and his twin brother Loadstone (who is a Hero) were both based off of myself. Of the two, Aquarius' powers and costume define me more than Loadstone's, while Loadstone's personality has been largely based on my own obnoxious sense of humor. ~ Rumpelstiltskin
  25. Hooray for disproportionally sized mouths!~ Rumpelstiltskin
