Just before I was getting ready today to leave the house I suddenly found an e-mail in my inbox, telling me that today's class is not happening since our prof is sick.
    I was looking forward to Drama/Conception...oh well,tomorrow then^^

So, I have another full day, to procrastinate, play DAO and get ready for Nanowrimo.

Oh yes, and I also have all the time for a good breakfast now...maybe a second even?

That pretty much sums up my homework for today.
Sum up the rules behind an old-school game like Tetris or Pac Man within a short paragraph, so that any programmer given these 5 lines of text would come up with the same result.

The first week of the Gamedesign Course is over, the Meet'n'Greet has passed, I still don't know all the names, but we're in-deep into our first project already, after two lectures on Copyright and the History of Videogames, respectively.
Pong was not the first Video-Game btw. I still wish I had a Pong Console-Table here though. Oh well, the Crysis Nano-Edition and AC:B Codey Edition will have do instead

Which leads back to the aforementioned Project: Writing a post-mortem document and preparing a presentation for Assassin's Creed II.

I'd say that's darned cool. So, I'll get back to gaming...uhm, schoolwork, now.

EDIT: Just preordered AC:B Codex edition. Yummy!

Just a short on-the-road entry out of a Starbucks, before I check out of the hostel and head for the Airport.
Can't believe I won't be on this side of the atlantic anymore...so many memories. So many cool people!

You guys are in for a long thankyou-entry when I get back home ^^

I've journeyed, over 3 years, from Montréal to Montréal. Tomorrow or the day after I'll be going back to visit the College I went to those 3 years ago.
It's been a long and interesting, sad but also exciting Journey, with probably the best times of my life so far in it...

    Yeah, I feel a bit reminiscent. ^^

    ...at least for 3 Nights.
I finally made it to Montréal again. Now, since the Hostel I will be staying at is solidly booked until the 23rd I am left with 3 nights in the Airport Hotel.
This is pretty costly, but I guess one time I can do this.
And honestly, who doesn't want to feel fancy sometime? ^^

And since this is the francophone part:

    Au revoir mes amis ^^

I went to see Rock of Ages the day before yesterday, which is just my kind of musical. They even gave out fake cigarette lighters for maximum Audience participation...if only the audience would participate MORE! To make it short, a musical about 80s classic rock? Totally awesome condensed into 2 hrs!

Scott Pilgrim. If you stumbled across Kohaku's Blog this morning like me, the man speaks the truth and naught but the truth.
In my opinion, the BEST adaption of a Studios opening logo to a movie ever! And a totally cool movie to live up to the expectation.

Hard Rock Café...need a say more?

Keep rockin' people! 6 more days before heading back over the border to Maple-leaf country.

After many a week of not going beyond the boundaries of the blogs, I am positively surprised about all the good art that has emerged in Artwork I lately ^^
Some very talented people have started posting stuff and I've started feeling that urge to draw Bionicle again...we'll see what comes from that.

Speaking of which, I had a nice idea for something!

Home!? HA! I don't think so!
More like TAKE ME TO AWESOME PEOPLE!

After all I am hanging out with Sisen right now and while the temperature is slowly making my brain melt when I am outside I am still having a ton of fun. Like Sisen's dad teaching me how to ride a Quad

Makes the idea of learning how to ride motorcycles all the more interesting when I get back home.

Anyway, WOOOOOOOOT and talk to y'all later...or rather SEE you later, in some cases (MWUHAHAHAHA)

    Peace out!

A little incoherent writing ahead, reader discretion is advised, the author has just awoekn from a far too short sleep...

So, after 2 Nights in San Francisco I am heading over to Berkeley to explore the greater Bay area a bit more.

And while this town is almost as cool as some other cities further north ( ), Waiting and hour just for one cablecar-ride is definitely too much ^^

Still, I like it here. I wonder how many more weird and interestin things I'll see over the next week. Caketaker for this week is a man rivalling Ben Stiller as Zoolander though. Alongside a man in a teal Suit and dreadlocks down to his back!

And the fireworks from the 4th were some of the coolest I ever saw!

    Take everyone.

Soo, my last day in Oregon and now I got to California on a train...dragged Nukaya out for smoothies before I left ^^ I had a great time here these last...I don't know how many days. Practically been here forever...or 2 and a half weeks, whatever you prefer.

Only three stops remain before Brickfair. I am all set for that. And there only remain 2 things to actually organize before I get there. So everything is pretty relaxed so far.

Art-wise I am getting a couple of good ideas the last two days.

San Fran hasn't disappointed so far. My train was an hour early in Sacramento and I found the Hostel right away. Might head over to the Bridge to enjoy the fireworks tonight

    Happy 4th of July everybody!

He has eyes in the back of his head. He can see through walls.
    He can read thoughts.
His knowledge is nearing infinity, and then some.
He can turn your viewpoint 180° within a single sentence.
His dry wit is only rivaled by that of House.
He can't fly but he can navigate the 7 Seas, above and under water.
He has an explanation for everything.
He speaks 3 languages fluently and almost 2 more.

And he relentlessy tries to get me to get the best out of me.

    Here's to Dad ^^

Sooo, it's me again, this time reporting in from beautiful Tofino! And I gotta say, it's darn cool out here for such a small town!

I almost couldn't find the time to write this, inbetween Whalewatching, the hot Springs, walking through the woods, Kayaking and Karaoke at the local bar

I think I mentioned growing up with my dad's taste of music...well, sometimes I come across some of my favourite songs from that time (Back when I didn't know any English). Today's Discovery? Paul Simon, whos Graceland Album is just full of feel-good music ^^
    "You can call me Al"

A man walks down the street
He says why am I soft in the middle now
Why am I soft in the middle
The rest of my life is so hard
    I need a photo-opportunity
I want a shot at redemption
Don't want to end up a cartoon
    In a cartoon graveyard
    Bonedigger Bonedigger
    Dogs in the moonlight
    Far away my well-lit door
    Mr. Beerbelly Beerbelly
Get these mutts away from me
You know I don't find this stuff amusing anymore
    If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
    I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
    You can call me Al

A man walks down the street
He says why am I short of attention
Got a short little span of attention
And wo my nights are so long
    Where's my wife and family
    What if I die here
    Who'll be my role-model
    Now that my role-model is
    Gone Gone
He ducked back down the alley
With some roly-poly little bat-faced girl
    All along along
    There were incidents and accidents
    There were hints and allegations

    If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
    I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
    You can call me Al
    Call me Al

A man walks down the street
    It's a street in a strange world
    Maybe it's the Third World
Maybe it's his first time around
    He doesn't speak the language
    He holds no currency
    He is a foreign man
He is surrounded by the sound
    The sound
    Cattle in the marketplace
    Scatterlings and orphanages
    He looks around, around
He sees angels in the architecture
    Spinning in infinity
    He says Amen! and Hallelujah!

    If you'll be my bodyguard
I can be your long lost pal
    I can call you Betty
And Betty when you call me
    You can call me Al
    Call me Al

Holy cow that looked like a promising trailer. Of course there's the posibility that it's gonna blow, but still...
If they pull it off right, it's just gonna be win. Plus Liam Neesen as Hannibal?

    It's simply beyond cool ^^
Isn't it nice if you read a book or watch a movie or are in the middle of enjoying some other type of media and you know that places featured in this book/movie/audioplay are places you've actually been to?
It makes the whole experience much more vivid.

In my case it's Frank Schätzing's book "The Swarm", in which half of the action in the beginning takes place in and around Vancouver/Vancouver Island (The aquarium or Whalewatching for example).

It just doubles the fun of listening to the audio-version of the book

Well, the recording session of my orchestra is done. I got to listen to a bit of what we played on the PC afterwards. If the whole thing is as good as the quality for that piece, it'll be an amazing CD that's gonna come from this.

Can't wait to get my hands on a copy of it (mainly because I do play a small solo-part in one track, but everything else rocks just as much)

    On another note:

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «Well, I've grown up with quite a lot of music so far, but recently I found myself expanding my musical taste to new bands, or bands that I know of but never really listen to. Breaking Benjamin for example. If you have other suggestions worth checking out, let me know
So clever, whatever, I'm done with these endeavors.
Alone I walk the winding way.
It's over, no longer, I feel it growing stronger.
I'll live to die another day, until I fade away.

Why give up, why give in?
It's not enough, it never is.
So I will go on until the end.
    We've become desolate.
It's not enough, it never is.
So I will go on until the end.
Surround me, it's easy to fall apart completely.
I feel you creeping up again.

It's over, no longer, I feel it growing colder.
I knew this day would come to end, so let this life begin.

Why give up, why give in?
It's not enough, it never is.
So I will go on until the end.
    We've become desolate.
It's not enough, it never is.
But I will go on until the end.
    I've lost my way.
I've lost my way, but I will go on until the end.

Living is hard enough without you screwing up.

Why give up, why give in?
It's not enough, it never is.
So I will go on until the end.
    We've become desolate.
It's not enough, it never is.
But I will go on until the end.
    I've lost my way.
I've lost my way, but I will go on until the end.

    The final fight I'll win,
    the final fight I'll win,
the final fight I'll win, but I will go on until the end.
    -"Until the end"
