  1. IC: Kalyss chuckled. "Unless you have a way to teleport, or break the sound barrier, I'm afraid I've only got room for one passenger. And that spot is taken," she said, gesturing to Mura, "by this matoran." Always were in a hurry, weren't you, Kalyss? Kalyss shot up, and looked around. She hadn't felt someone touch her mind like that since... well, training was the last time she could remember. That you, Vakua? No, you've finally snapped. I'm your sexy, evil, and much more fun alternate personality, and I'm here to take control. Kalyss spotted Vakua, his silvery armor and black Suletu, with headphones and visor. Vakua waved. Kalyss laughed out loud, and activated her Kakama and ran up to her brother in an instant, wrapped her arms around him, and lifted him into the air, laughing. It feels like it's been an eternity! I don't remember the last time we saw each other. I can't remember much of anything, really. Just you and the others, and our training. Vakua's smile disappeared; he silently sighed. Neither do I. I didn't even know you were on the island. What about the others? Kalyss shook her head. I don't know where they are; I washed on shore to the north, and helped a town called Po-Koro. I sped here when I could trying to find the rest of the team. You think we aren't the only ones on this island? Kalyss looked away, at Mount Mangai; she spoke: "I did know several things, though I don't know how... I know this island is facing a grave darkness, and that the Toa Kalta have been sent to help stop it. I know the others are here, on the island, somewhere. We have to find them; we have to stand as one."
  2. OOC: Amusing, but I don't believe Kalyss ever mentioned their names... but I might be wrong. IC: "That doesn't seem to be unusual. I might not be searching for my team if I remembered things." Kalyss grabbed the length of grilled fish from Mura. "Well, I'm already carrying one matoran, and we are on a tight schedule. 10 minutes ago we were in Po-Koro, and I'd rather not spend days traveling between the koros."
  3. IC: "Going? Anywhere, I guess. Looking for the rest of my team. Just came from Po-Koro, and nobody was there."
  4. OOC: Sorry I took so long to reply IC: (Mura) "Right." He too had noticed that he and Kalyss shared an element. She must be from another land too...maybe the same one as me... Trying to remember his island only brought flashes of recognition, a smell or an image...it was no use. He realised he hadn't eaten since yesterday. He pointed to a nearby fish stall; "Let's get some food." IC: "Mura, get me whatever they have. Smoked ruki if they have it." Kalyss looked down at the po-matoran. "We got here a few minutes ago, and the way we came it, we... didn't have time for sightseeing. Sorry."
  5. Eugh. I already explain some of Skorm's directional powers as just creating tiny singularities. However, it does shed a new light on my idea for a Ba-Toa's day job of compressing garbage.
  6. I'd imagine a Ba-Toa's true nova blast would be creating a black hole with event horizons larger than the island.
  7. Ironically, that makes it so that toa of Gravity were powered up in my mind, since creating small black holes are an established, accomplishable power.
  8. I'm pretty sure they can't, but then again, I always considered making a black hole to be the nova blast of Gravity, so...
  9. Now I'm reminded of Salient Green from Old World Blues: "Just the miracle of life in sticky, gooey, liquid form, baby. Heat that gunk up over a campfire, and just watch it congeal into all kind of plants."
  10. IC: Kalyss and Mura wandered through the gates of Ga-Koro. Kalyss noted how her companion and her shared an element. Ironic. "I guess we can start asking around the inns and other places where they could take a night off." The Su-Toa scanned the crowd. Mostly Ga-Matoran, with a smattering of the more unusual races, and the occasional non-ga matoran. "Now, be on the lookout for a Fa-Toa in blue armor with a Pakari, a Ba-Toa with a cloak and Huna, a skinny De-Matoran wearing a visor and headphones..." Vakua had abandoned his usual rhythmic pace, and was making his way to the entrance of the village as fast as he could. He shielded his thoughts as best he could, waiting to see if there were any thoughts of him. if there were, he would be sure this was his sister.
  11. OOC: Oh, I think it's plenty important More so than two exes talking, at least. IC: "How is Asa?" Denrika stated blankly, less a question and more a mumble. Okay, she's in shock. Great.
  12. Have you been looking at my notes? Of course, my version involved coating herself with plasma and going through a giant, superpowered railgun.
  13. That's pretty much what I was thinking; variable speeds, from 'all out over flat terrain' to 'tactical movement' (both being ridiculously fast, but one being managable). I envisioned the Toa Kalta as warriors trained to push their powers to the absolute limit/new and creative uses with the 'Kal' set of Elements. Since Kalyss has a more limited power, I imagined she would have been trained to maximize her use of speed in combat. Less fencing, more football (American and otherwise; she was a prolific athlete ). Mainly using the speed as a battlefield advantage; she controls her engagements, with either hit-and-run or a flying tackle.
  14. IC: A hostage situation. Great. The one day Denrika had forgotten to count her steps from her apartment, around the rubble, and to the inn, a hostage situation broke out. An ex, a flirtatious toa, and now a psychopath with a tendency for arguing semantics, and a Guard team. "I've been doing just great. Wonderful even."
  15. I was thinking more 'you break reality in these super-specific ways'. No gross physics manipulation (for fun and profit). And no poaching elements; that's just rude. Lookin' at you, Lewa. Sand plus Fire makes glass...
  16. I'm trying my best not to imagine what happened to someone who so much as lightly touched a solid surface at a speed greater than that of sound. Words such as "liquid" and "hideous" come to mind, despite my efforts. Good thing those masks come with Required Secondary Powers®! Are you sinking into the earth whenever you activate your Pakari? Do your feet explode whenever you take a step after activating a Kakama? It's always such a pain when your Kualsi merges you with air molecules! It's a good thing masks like these, and more, come with Required Secondary Powers®! Required Secondary Powers®! Because your powers are too cool to let physics to get in the way!
  17. Okay. Wearing the mask when you are not 'using' it does not increase reaction time. It is 'active'. When it IS on, it compensates, but not enough for the user to be able to precisely perceive his environment. The Kakama Nuva, however, increased Pohatu's reaction speed even when it wasn't being actively used. 'Passive'.
  18. There is a difference between 'active' reaction times (when the user is speeding using the normal version of the mask) and 'passive'. Edit: 'sort of'?
  19. It was less than a minute, actually. Unfortunately, it does not enhance reflexes and reaction times; the Nuva version does that and the other 'speedster powers'. The Great version of the mask just allows for moving from point A to point B really fast. Which is why Kalyss has impact-resistant armor, augmented by her plasma, and specializes in (comparitively) low speed kicks and tackles. EDIT: Does my above explanation break the rules?
  20. Somebody in S&T did these calculations a while back. I'm not sure how this affects the game though. Ah, thanks! The mask explicitly moves faster than the visible eye can see, so it's already pretty darn fast.
  21. OOC: Krayzikk, feel free to take command of the Guard; not in a position to myself. IC: "I suggest you follow what the official Guard says." Casanuva put his good hand on the hilt of his sword. Denrika's chair rolled back slowly.
  22. IC: Kalyss pried Mura off her back. "Whew! That was quite a run. Not as fast as I like, couldn't pass the speed of sound very much. Let's head on into the village. We'll start asking around." Vakua's head shot up when he heard the sonic boom. That sounded... familiar. He had abandoned his notion of leaving to assist Ko-Koro, at least for now. The guards had been too frightened of his telepathy. Their loss. Their tune might have changed with time, but they had left. For now, things were looking up.
  23. Sooo I did some math. About the Kakama. If someone who is actually competent already calculated the approximate speed the Kakama allows a user to reach, please correct me; but I figured out that the speed a Kakama reaches is ABOUT 1 mile/second. Or 3600 mph. Which easily breaks the speed of sound. So lots of sonic booms.
  24. IC: Initially, Kalyss had trouble adjusting to the new weight on her back, but she learned to compensate. Good thing, too, since she only had a couple thousand more feet until water. Channeling plasma through the soles of her feet and activating her skates, she leaned down. She hit Naho Bay skating on the water; they didn't sink. OOC: Mura and Kalyss to Ga-Wahi.
  25. OOC: I hope that's Kedamor's insane mind. Since in any court of law, since that would be verbal assault. IC: "That's a threat if I ever heard one."
