  1. "Black Celebration" - Depeche Mode sounds so good on vinyl.
  2. I had a dream about this place. it's the second one I've had, but they're both the same. they start out that I'm in here, but it's not day or night. it's kind of half night, you know? but it looks just like this, except for the light. and I'm scared like I can't tell you. of all people, you're standing right over there, by that counter. you're in both dreams, and you're scared. I get even more frightened when I see how afraid you are, and then I realize what it is. there's a man. in back of this place. he's the one who's doing it. I can see him through the wall. I can see his face. I hope that I never see that face, ever, outside of a dream. that's all.
  3. Favorite metal band yess, they deserve it. So what's your favorite band that so unjustly dethroned Katatonia? The Cure. gothic rock/post-punk band that was most active in the 80s, if you haven't heard of them. they were a huge influence on Katatonia and their album Disintegration is, in my opinion, the greatest album ever recorded.
  4. jesus. it's been so long since I updated this thing. well, it took an hour and a half and it's so long it broke the formatting, but I updated it. in the future though I'll probably just stick to updating my Rate Your Music collection instead.
  5. Katatonia's my favorite metal band and second-favorite band in general. been a devoted fan of theirs since around the time Night Is the New Day dropped. really jealous of that drum skin, that's awesome! like Queen of Liars said, metal is pretty well-represented here. I'd wager this is the only Bionicle fansite on the net where black metal is a regular topic of conversation. their appearance on Twin Peaks and the new EP have reignited my interest in Nine Inch Nails, so I've ordered copies of Ghosts I-IV, The Slip, the 2010 remaster of Pretty Hate Machine, and the upcoming CD versions of Not the Actual Events and Add Violence to fill the holes in my collection. also pre-ordered the new Grave Pleasures and Samael albums. edit: I totally forgot that I also bought Black Celebration by Depeche Mode and It's My Life by Talk Talk on vinyl , plus the limited edition of {Rotten Apples} Greatest Hits with the rarities bonus disc by The Smashing Pumpkins today. also bought the Hypnos/Flame EP by Chelsea Wolfe off Bandcamp because I wanted to support something there.
  6. if we decide to bring the blog back I'll keep you in mind. sidenote: nice Kataonia name and avatar you've got there.
  7. the irony here is that everything you accuse Christopher Nolan of being - pretentious, only caring about making himself look intelligent, fooling people into thinking what he's saying has more substance than it actually does, and patting himself on the back for being different - actually describes this """""review""""" perfectly. I'm not even a big Nolan fan but it sounds to me like you'd be better off sticking to Marvel movies. or maybe The Emoji Movie is more your thing.
  8. the last 8 minutes of it is basically noise, but it's actually connected to the ARG related to the EP so it's not entirely pointless. it also sounds kind of cool.

  10. okay, let me rephrase: I like the last EP (and the new one) more than anything he's done since at least Year Zero.
  11. I love the new track and the last EP more than anything else Trent's done in years so yeah, sounds like you're probably just over them.
  12. oh yeah, also been listening to AFI. Sing the Sorrow's a pretty killer album.
  13. saosin w/ anthony green is best saosin overall I'd be inclined to agree, but the self-titled album rules and at least 25% of that is because of Cove. nothing beats Translating the Name though
  14. my taste has regressed to that of a 16-year-old girl and I've been listening to nothing but Saosin, Rise Against, Senses Fail, and Silverstein for the past week these are bands I wasn't even into when I was a 16-year-old girl
  15. if you mute the audio and just watch the raccoon this is actually a decent video
