  1. It was less than a month ago that the first Doctor Who project on Cuusoo reached 10,000 votes, and now it's happened again! Doctor Who And Companions by Andrew Clark is packed full of play features, including an opening Police Box with a console on the inside, multiple Doctors and companions, and of course the evil Daleks, Weeping Angels, and Cybermen. With two of these projects passing muster, it will be interesting to see what LEGO says after the next review phase! View the full article
  2. It's time for another Chima Month review! Today BZPower Forum Assistant Nuju Metru takes a look at 70127 Wolf Legend Beast. Will you give this dog a bone and take it home with you, or will some other Legends of Chima sets become man's best friend? And will you win a copy of this set for free? You'll have to read on to find out! View the full article
  3. If you've ever wished there was a LEGO app for the young ones in your life--children, siblings, cousins--then LEGO DUPLO Food deserves a space on your Apple device. Let the kids build ice cream, cakes and burgers out of digital DUPLO bricks on your device as they learn to follow instructions. What another great way to engage the little ones in the wonderful world of LEGO! View the full article

  5. I recently received word form the organizers of BrickFair and Philly Brick Fest of a contest being hosted by LEGO at their events. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Batman, the best Batman MOC at each event will receive a prize package of the 2014 first wave of DC Comics Super Hero sets. They will also be entered in a competition for a grand prize at the end of the year. I know for sure that this will be held at Philly Brick Fest and BrickFairs New England, Virginia, and New Jersey, but I'd guess it will also be at BrickSlopes, BrickWorld, Bricks by the Bay, BrickCon, and BrickFete as well. Unleash your inner Dark Knight and get building! And if you're attending these events, let us know! View the full article
  6. This week, from April 6 until April 12, Toys 'R' Us is offering 30% off on select LEGO sets. The list is rather short, but it looks like there's some good deals on a few older sets to be had. No Hero Factory or Chima, unfortunately, maybe next time! View the full article
  7. Our Flickr contest wasn't the only one going on lately, we also had the sixty-seventh iteration of the Bionicle-Based Creations Contest (67? wow...). A bunch of you made awesome videogame characters, but only three could win. Congratulations to Obsessionist, DeeVee, and Shadrahk for placing first, second, and third! Their respective creations of Ocarina of Time Link and Ganondorf, Phazon Suit Samus Aran, and Halo: Tiny Co-op! were impressive entries. Check them out along with the other finalists in the results topic. Thanks to everyone who entered and voted, and make sure you check out SBC Contest #3: For Chima! to get your building contest fix for April. View the full article
  8. The votes were tallied and the envelope has been delivered. Congratulations to [ Chro ], whose Yenqe MOC won our March 2014 Flickr Contest. In addition to winning a copy of 70806 Castle Cavalry, his creation will displayed as our Flickr group's banner for the months of April and May. You can see the full results from the contest here. Congratulations again to Chro and thanks to everyone who entered and voted! View the full article
  9. The BZPower T-Shirt Contest has just begun and is seeking Bionicle artists just like you! Bionicle Raptor has made his blog entry calling for designs, and yours very well may gain the nod of approval and grace the bodies of BZPower members everywhere this summer! I have a couple of these shirts in my own wardrobe because the quality of the shirts and awesome designs blow me away! Check out his blog, design that shirt, and be ready to sport some Bionicle apparel! View the full article
  10. Are you ready to enter the world of Chima? As Thrillgeek reports, LEGOLAND California is preparing to open the LEGO Legends of Chima water park on May 24, 2014, Memorial Day weekend. The highlight will be a 40-foot tall floating Mount Cavora in the new interactive Lion Temple Wave Pool, which you can see being installed and transported in . It looks like it will be a great summer attraction! View the full article
  11. Yet another game and app by Amuzo has been released recently. It's called LEGO Technic Race and features this year's LEGO Technic pull-back motor racers in a 3D racing game that feels quite old school (not in a bad sense, though). If you're expecting a Need for Speed style game you'll be disappointed as you can only change tracks (and collect power-ups on the way), but it's still fun enough to give it a try for free on the LEGO Racers website, the iOS app or the Android app. View the full article
  12. As part of our continuing Chima Month we've kicked off another raffle! For $1 per ticket, you enter to win a copy of 70134 Lavertus' Outland Base, the largest Chima set released so far this year. The money raised will go to support BZPower's ongoing server and software costs and is greatly appreciated. Don't forget, new members joining BZPower have their own exclusive (and free) raffle they can enter as well, and we'll be giving away more sets as the month continues! View the full article
  13. We couldn't take pictures of them during Toy Fair, but Canadian retailer Indigo has posted listings for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the upcoming movie on their website. You can check out 79115 Turtle Van Takedown, 79116 Big Rig Snow Getaway, and 79117 Turtle Lair Invasion (although the image is wrong for this one). I'm still not a fan of the minifigs, but the rest of the sets seem like they might be pretty cool. The movie is still four months away, so it will probably be a bit before they're available. At least now you can see them! View the full article
  14. What's a better way to celebrate BZPower's Chima month than a preview of some of the upcoming sets. The Brick Fan reported on two summer Chima sets that are going to be store exclusives, so they weren't on display at Toy Fair. The first is 70135 Cragger's Fire Striker, which looks like a croc-car and comes with 3 minifigures. The other is 70147 Sir Fangar's Ice Fortress that comes with a gorilla tank, sabor tooth cat plane, and an icy mountain base, as well as 5 minifigures. You can see more images of the sets on The Brick Fan's page! View the full article
  15. You know what they say; April showers bring twice as many LEGO VIP points, at least during the first half of the month. From now to April 15th, you will earn double VIP points on anything purchased from shop.Lego.com, over the phone, or at the LEGO Brand Stores. Not a VIP Member yet? Wow, you don't know what you're missing out on, so go here to learn how to sign up! View the full article
  16. The LEGO Group announced recently that Mads Nipper is stepping down from his position as CMO of the company. The former Chief Marketing Officer will be taking on the role of CEO for the Danish company Grundfos. While this may not seem like a big deal, people familiar with the history of the company or who have read Brick by Brick by David Robertson will know that Nipper was a key player in the turnaround LEGO has undertaken in the recent past. It seems, however, that LEGO is confident that the organization he helped create will be able to continue on without him, and I wish him the best of luck in his new role. View the full article
  17. Yesterday, as part of our Chima Month, we kicked off our third System-Based Creations Contest - SBCC #3: For Chima! As you might expect for a theme based around animals, the contest has a decidedly primal flavor: you must build a vehicle with animal features and provide a rider to pilot it. LEGO has donated some great prizes; up for grabs are 70132 Scorm's Scorpion Stinger, 70129 Lavertus' Twin Blade, and 70126 Crocodile Legend Beast. You have until April 15th at 11:59PM to enter, so get building! View the full article
  18. We briefly interrupt our Chima Month to bring you some news for another theme. LEGO and Amuzo have just released their new ShellShocked game for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme. It's a 3D platform game in which you defeat enemies and collect masks to unlock all four ninja turtles. Once all four turtles are collected, Splinter is unlocked for a short time. The game bears a striking resemblance to the Ninjago: The Final Battle game from last year so if you enjoyed that one and you like ninja minifigures or turtles, you may find yourself enjoying this one. 19. To help kick off Chima Month, today we're taking a look at one of the Legend Beasts from this year. 70123 Lion Legend Beast will probably be one of the more popular sets, and I know I've seen it sold out at at least one LEGO store. If you're interested to learn more about this set, as well as see how you can win a free copy, go watch and read the review! View the full article
  20. As part of our just-implemented New Member Incentives, we are announcing a new raffle to help celebrate Chima month. LEGO has donated a copy of 70131 Rogon's Rock Flinger that we're giving away to a lucky member who joins before the end of the month. So if you're reading this but haven't joined BZPower yet, what are you waiting for? Already a member? Don't worry, there will be more raffles coming soon! View the full article

  22. Legends of Chima is one of the biggest themes that LEGO kicked off in the past few years, following the pattern of Ninjago and Bionicle before it. Here at BZPower, we have decided to take a greater interest in the theme to help widen our audience. That's why April is Chima Month, and will be full of reviews, contests, raffles, news, and more! If you like free LEGO sets and Chima, this is your lucky month! Read on to see what we have in store. Note: this story will stay updated with the latest news and activities regarding Chima Month, so keep checking back! View the full article

  24. Some of these may be old hat for you guys by now, but maybe there's some surprises too. The Huffington Post put together an interesting article entitled '11 Awesome Lego Facts That Will Make You Want To Break Out The Bricks Again,' that covers exactly what it sounds like. I knew a bunch of them, but it's always cool to see LEGO getting more recognition in the media! View the full article
