  1. Now that Bricklink is back online, they have announced the five Series Three finalists for the Bricklink Designer Program. The models themselves still need to be refined for production, so crowdfunding won't start until October 2024. That gives you plenty of time to drool over the Harbormaster's Office, The Art of Chocolate, Forest Stronghold, Camping Adventure, and Lost City, and decide which, if any, you're going to support.

  2. This video came out earlier this year, but I missed it until just recently. The music video for the I Fight Dragons song, "Oh The Places You'll Go," is done entirely in stop motion and features some heavily modified Bionicle MOCs. If you're a purist, you probably want to avoid it, but it's a very well-done stop-motion movie that tells a story to go along with the song. Give it a watch!

  3. Earlier today BZPower Member Mushy the Mushroom shared updated instructions for her plush Macku and Hewkii dolls over in General Art. We gave away one set she generously donated to a lucky member earlier this year, and I can tell you from having held them that they're even more adorable in person than in the photos. If you're good with a sewing machine and a needle and thread, or know someone you can kindly convince, your life would be better off with these cure plushies. We may have some more to give away in the future as well, so keep your eyes peeled right here!

  4. You have until the end of today to score double points on your LEGO Shop@Home orders! This will work out (in the US at least, points vary per country) to about a 10% discount on the set instead of the usual 5%, in terms of the rewards you can redeem in the future. They also have some high-dollar sets on sale, including the UCS Razor Crest and Hulkbuster for 30% off. They're still super-expensive, but it's probably among the best deals you'll see on them in the near future.

  5. Earlier today over on Instagram, The LEGO Group officially announced their partnership with Nintendo to create Animal Crossing sets! The figures give some serious FABULAND vibes, which older fans from the 80s tend to remember fondly. The theme is sure to be popular with lots of people, especially considering the huge popularity of New Horizons in 2020 and 2021. Hopefully the sets get revealed soon too!

  6. Last week, The Toy Foundation announced the 2023 Toy of the Year award winners, and it should come as no surprise that our favorite building toy was well-represented. The LEGO Group walked away with five honors:
    • Construction Toy of the Year: LEGO Disney and Pixar 'Up' House
    • Grown-Up Toy of the Year: LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell
    • Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year: Laugh & Learn Mix & Learn DJ Table by Mattel, Inc. & LEGO DUPLO 3 in 1 Tree House by LEGO Systems, Inc.
    • STEAM Toy of the Year: LEGO Technic NASA Mars Rover Perseverance
    • Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative: Bronze Winner: LEGO Replay
I'm very please to see the social responsibility category, and hopefully TLG manages to earn silver or gold there next year. But until then, congratulations on all the recognition!

  7. If you've got 4000 points saved up on your LEGO Insiders account and have been wondering what to spend them on, wait no more! You can head over to the Rewards Center and redeem them for a Customizable Logo Cap:
Show your LEGO love with this cap that comes with 3 easy-change patches representing iconic LEGO themes: Bionicle, Blacktron and Castle, with additional patches to be available soon.
It's awesome to see that Bionicle was chosen for one of the first three patches, and I'm definitely curious to see what other ones are added in the future. Let us know what you'd like to see in the Talkback!

  8. A casting call has gone out for LEGO Masters Junior, a spinoff of Fox's brick-based reality show. Now you can sign your kids up to be TV personalities and social media influencers! Filming will take place in late October and early November this year, so we can probably expect the show to premier next spring. I'm definitely curious to see what kinds of challenges the kids get to compete in and what sort of crazy builds they come up with!

  9. Let us not forget the events of twenty-two years ago today. We were here at Kanohi-Power and BionicleZone back then, and we all lived though 9/11/01 as a community. Twenty-two years later, we are still here, members are still here - and although it's been over two decades it's important to remember what happened in the hopes that we can keep it from ever happening again. The world is now different, as is our community that has lived through a difficult time - it is important to remember all those who lost their lives.
