Hooray, Tuesday at last! That means I get to play some LEGO videogames over on the BZPower Twitch channel with you all! Starting at or before (probably before) 7:30 PM Eastern, we'll be headed back into LEGO Jurassic World to continue our replay of the campaign in an effort to collect all the things that need collecting. Maybe if we're lucky we'll hit 65 million studs while we're at it - see you there!

In a surprise yesterday, the Bits N' Bricks podcast returned with a new sixth season of five episodes. While it's not on YouTube, you can listen on Apple Podcasts and other podcast platforms. They've strayed away from videogames and this batch covers topics like LEGO botanicals (featuring Nick Vas aka Brickthing!), sustainability, clutch power, the LEGO goat, and more! I've only listened to the trailer so far, but I'm excited to dive in and see what I can learn.

Another week, another hour of playing LEGO videogames over on the BZPower Twitch channel! Join us at 7:30 PM Eastern as we head back 65 million years to play some more LEGO Jurassic World. See you there!

We missed it this weekend, but LEGO Shop@Home is currently doing a double VIP points promotion, which runs until the end of tomorrow (June 13th). If you've been thinking about buying some sets but haven't had the reason to, now is as good a time as any. This is especially true if it's a LEGO exclusive and not something you'll see on sale at Amazon, Target, or Walmart in the future.

It's time for another stream! Join us on the BZPower Twitch channel in about 90 minutes (2 PM Eastern) as we build the LEGO Creator Expert 77942 Fiat 500 set and compare it to the original yellow one. We'll be giving away a Star Wars buildable figure to one lucky viewer! See you there!

Earlier this week Tufi Piyufi kicked off the Official BBC Contest #81: Water You Building! You have until Tuesday, June 27th at 11:59 PM Eastern to build a constraction creation that fits the theme of water. The wettest winner will be able to douse the flames of 70787 Tahu - Master of Fire by taking it home as their prize, and second place will win 70783 Protector of Fire. Additionally, if you send your entry to BrickFair Virginia (which is completely optional) you'll be entered into a raffle for 5002942 Bionicle Villain Pack. Good luck to all the builders!

We missed last week, but we'll be back tonight playing more LEGO Jurassic World over on the BZPower Twitch channel! The stream will start by 7:30 PM Eastern (probably 5 to 10 minutes earlier) and will go for an hour or so while we revisit all of the levels collecting the collectibles and lots and lots of studs. See you there!

A little while ago, Bo99 joined the forums to share a unique piece of Bionicle memorabilia that had come into their possession: a large scale Bionicle sculpture of Keelerak. Nato G sleuthed that it looks like it was the grand prize in a 2005 competition, and this is the first we've seen of it since then. Bo99 appears to be interested in selling it, so if you'd like to add this one-of-a-kind sculpture to your collection, reach out to them!

We're almost halfway through the year, and with it now being June there's a new giveaway for everyone to enter. Head on over to the 2023 Member Raffle #6 for a chance to win LEGO Star Wars set 75536 Range Trooper from the vastly-underrated Solo: A Star Wars Story film. Good luck!

BZPower member The Archivist hit the forums recently with a good question: How do We Know When a Prototype/Rare Mask is Real? Why is Authentication Never An Issue? It certainly seems like a subject worth discussing, especially as new G1 pieces pop up years and years later. So go join the conversation and add your input!

Okay, if you win the 2023 Member Raffle #5 you're not actually winning a trip anywhere, sorry. But you can use your imagination and the LEGO Star Wars Buildable Figure 75523 Scarif Stormtrooper to pretend you're on the gorgeous paradise world of Scarif as seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. There's only a few more days left to enter, so good luck!

It's time to adventure with dinosaurs again! Today's Tuesday, which means that starting at 7:30 PM Eastern (or a little before) we'll be over on the BZPower Twitch channel playing more LEGO Jurassic World. We've collected all of the red bricks and now it's time to go through the levels finding minikits and amber bricks and collecting all the studs (we need sixty-five million)! Hope to see you there!

It's that time of year, the time all the Bionicle and Constraction builders on the Internet look forward to: the Bio-Cup! As has become tradition, BZPower will be donating a bevy of prizes which will hopefully be announced soon. And of course I'm sure many of our members will be entering their builds in the preliminary round, which is underway! Best of luck to everyone, and I'm sure you'll be seeing some of the amazing creations in our monthly MOC recaps and all over social media. Get building!

Earlier this month The Economist shared some insights into the efforts The LEGO Group is making to win over the Chinese market. In the article, titled "Lego, the world's top toymaker, focuses on China," they cover the things many LEGO fans are familiar with - like Monkie Kid and the Lunar New Year sets - but also discuss the continuing fight the company is having with competitors that range from direct copies of LEGO sets to real-life Chinese military vehicles made out of bricks. They also dropped the staggering stats that last year TLG opened 95 stores in China and plans on opening another 80 this year. It seems like there's no shortage of love for the brick in one of the biggest markets in the world.

Hooray, it's Tuesday again! Join us over at the BZPower Twitch channel as we head out to Isla Nublar and Isla Sorna to play some more LEGO Jurassic World. We'll be live by 7:30 PM Eastern (probably a little earlier than that) to work on finding all of the red bricks and other collectibles in the open world. See you there!

If you missed out on the Bionicle Gift With Purchase set earlier this year and wanted to build a Tahu of your own, then you're in luck! Jay's Brick Blog shared on Twitter that the two printed pieces from the set - Tahu and Takua's masks - had shown up on LEGO Pick A Brick for people to buy individually. Unfortunately it looks like Takua's Pakari has sold out, but you can still pick up PLATE, W/ BOW 2X2X2/3, NO. 69 aka Tahu's Hau while supplies last!

After a two week break, it's time to continue our videogame streams! Come by the BZPower Twitch Channel starting at 7:30 PM Eastern as we head back into LEGO Jurassic World and figure out where it was that I left off. We have many things to collect and complete, so it should be an action-packed stream!

It's been a while since we last featured the MOCs made by BioniLUG members, so let's change that with a look back on what they built in March 2023. From mechs to dragons to trees to chefs to more mechs, there are a lot of cool builds. Read on to check them out. -
Early last month, Michiel Wouters joined BZPower to share some Bionicle memorabilia that had rediscovered from their childhood: a water bottle and a drink cup from LEGOLAND Germany. After some sleuthing, it turns out the water bottle came from LEGOLAND too, and while Michiel is keeping that in their collection, the drink cup is now up for sale in the B/S/T forum. If you'd like to own this unique piece of Bionicle history, now's your chance!

It's a new month and that means it's time for us to give away another LEGO set. Swim on over to the 2023 Member Raffle #5 for a chance to win LEGO Star Wars Buildable Figure 75523 Scarif Stormtrooper, straight from Rogue One. We'll be giving this away shortly after Memorial Day, aka the end of May, so before you break out your white pants make sure you enter. Who knows, you could be lucky like Lalajujunini, who won our April raffle!
-
Are we already almost at the end of April? Well then, you all had better go and enter the 2023 Member Raffle #4 before it's too late! A lucky BZPower member will walk away with LEGO Star Wars set 75529 Elite Praetorian Guard - hopefully it's you!

Earlier this week The LEGO Group announced that they and Novo Nordisk had entered into a partnership with European Energy. The energy company will use renewable energy and biogenic carbon dioxide to produce e-methanol, which in turn will be used to produce polypropylene, polyethylene, and potentially other plastics to move away from fossil fuels. The LEGO Group already uses polyethylene derived from sugarcane in a majority of cases, but this agreement could potentially see polypropylene, the plastic used in minifigure weapons and accessories, switch to a sustainable source. The first batches of e-methanol won't be delivered until 2024, so don't expect this to happen overnight, but it's still a great step in the right direction for the planet. Happy Earth Day!

Bio-Cup 2023 is already running full force, with Round One just finishing and Round Two starting up soon. Still, you might have noticed our lack of coverage so far... well that's about to change. It's time for us to highlight some of the amazing MOCs that were entered in the Preliminary Round. There are a lot of MOCs to cover, so let's jump right into our first batch!
