Of course, we could always tighten restrictions, but I don't know if that would help.

My idea was, in order to make this contest take less then a year, we make it some sort of arcade/minigame type. And games that have already been started will not be alllowed. I guess we could have anywhere from 1 month to 6 months, or more, but if we keep a tight deadline it will make it far more interesting. If we just used already existing games, it would be quite boring.

Well, most Role-Playing Games use smaller sprites that are smaller so they can use programs such as RPGMaker 2003 or others. I don't think anyone on this site will, but possibly on another site... I don't know anything about that type of game.
