  1. Wow, this model (it feels weird to even call it a "model," like a toy you hold in your hands and play with) is phenomenal! This looks like something of the scale that Titan Mata Nui or a hypothetical GSR set could have been. He's imposing and powerful-looking. I can only imagine the building process. That timeline shows just how much spectacular work must have went into him. Honestly, I clicked expecting some kind of tooth-themed Makuta. If anything, this MOC's name is underwhelming next to its actual grandeur. You could have gotten away with calling it, "Truly Massive Makuta MOC" and it would have been deserved. Interesting, he reminded me of Gorm from the unappreciated classic theme Galidor.
  2. Is it different from Fanta is the US/wherever you live normally?
  3. Nice, he looks like he could give any Toa a run for his widgets. Excellent integration of G1 and HF/G2 pieces as well, the marble shooter pieces as shin guards looks very industrial and aesthetic.
  4. Since TLR is the only source of the Glatorian helmets doing this, I’m comfortable saying they are non-canon. BIONICLE has never been exactly consistent with how much Kanohi can move. I don’t have the books on hand, but I recall one line about a character “smiling beneath [their] mask” while at the same time characters can smile/emote like humans do and other characters perceive it. The Miramar trilogy went the route of making the masks organic, whereas the comics went the route of keeping the solid forms and just ignoring/embracing how foreign and inhuman it made them look. TLR, on the other hand, gave the protagonist characters whose mouths are covered the option of uncovering them. Notice all the antagonists (Skrall and Bone Hunters) who do not have retracted helmet forms are portrayed as blubbering morons anyway. It is only the characters we are meant to associate positively with (Mata Nui and Gresh) who have this feature, since they are the only protagonists whose mouths are not already visible anyway.
  5. This was a great story. The Web of Shadows movie kind of rushes through the return to Metru Nui; you really give it the horror-movie atmosphere and setup it deserves. I was so sucked in I almost forgot about the Visorak until you mentioned the cocoons, perfect piece de resistance. Krahka is such an interesting and morally gray character, it was excellent seeing her fleshed out in such a good story.
  6. That's beautiful. That would be an awesome thing for a young Bionicle fan to have up on their wall at night.
  7. Wow, as of today, I trade in my gold Mask of Control for a trans-blue Mask of Creation. I've been a BZPower member for 16 years, since October 7, 2007. I have been a BZPer for more than half of my life. The site definitely is not the bustling metropolis it used to be. I remember the almost overwhelming feeling of there being too much for me to ever consume. The first thing I would do when I got home from school is check BZP for new Set Reviews or BIONICLE sales. I'd browse the Set Database until I memorized all the sets that were released before I became a fan in 2003. I first became a member to write and publish comedies. I guess I don't do that as much anymore, but the memories are still salient. Hopefully, I have at least another 16 years of talking about plastic cyborgs with you people to look forward to.
  8. I’m currently almost done with season 3.
  9. Unfortunately, the thing about inflation is that it’s not something Lego just decides to do or not do. Lego isn’t going to lower their prices just because we ask them nicely to. Lego will do whatever the market rewards them for doing. I already rarely buy new Lego sets, and it’s only small purchases now when I do, so I assume that enough new blood is picking up the Lego happen to keep them profitable. But, and I hate to admit it, Lego is the least of my inflation-related worries today.
  10. I just got around to watching Equestria Girls: Forgotten Friendship. If you, like me, fell off the MLP bangwagon sometime around 2015, it is a good special to jump back in with. It was cute, funny, heartwarming and really reminded me why I got into MLP. In the original EG movie, Sunset Shimmer was so underdeveloped, but since then she's really been allowed to shine, especially in this special. Also, there are two versions, and the longer version is worth seeing. If I had to pick a favorite dramatic scene in that special, it'd be Sunset's reunion with Celestia. It's done perfectly, with Celestia projecting both royal regality while also being, well, Princess Trollestia.
  11. That makes me sad to hear. MLP still has so much potential. It felt like a perfect storm with so many great people behind it. It's tragic that Hasbro has lost that ability to get the right people in the same room to make it happen again.
  12. Fair enough, but I really think, nine times out of ten, Rahkshi are going to be the backbone of any typical Makuta operation. If it's before the Great Cataclysm, I could see Toa Hagah or Dark Hunters being used. Or, perhaps a unique servant, like Pridak or Sidorak and Roodaka.
  13. It's a good enough way to make sense of LEGO's bizarre choice to end two consecutive years of Hero Factory with unresolved cliffhangers.
  14. Blue is the best. It's so weird how the brony fandom just kind of ended. I know it still exists (I still check My Little Brony every now and again) but it really was everywhere for awhile. MLP was the thing that got me through the end of BIONICLE. I remember so passionately watching each new episode on YouTube then listening to Digibro and Tommy Oliver's videos on them. I think it was around S6 was when I stopped watching it. It wasn't intentional, I just ran out of time. I still plan on eventually tracking down and watching them all on DVD, but it really isn't the same anymore. I have absolutely no interest in G5. I have heard exactly zero good things about it.
  15. Why are Rahkshi being removed from the equation? The breeds like Lerahk and Vorahk seem ideal for raids. Other than them, Visorak, Dark Hunters or corrupt Toa seem like who they would use. Exo-Toa strike me as too clunky and uncreative.
  16. Lol, I hate to say it but that would be the funniest and most memorable take of Bionicle and G1 being set in the same universe. If Spherus Magna and the Great Beings are just these primitive cavemen compared to everyone else.
  17. How am I seeing this for the first time? This is a very cute picture and I wholeheartedly believe this is Hahli's handwriting. Is the spelling mistake the second to last word? "new moves to _____ about." I found that word difficult to decipher.
  18. This is beautiful. I was seven years old when Mask of Light came out and it was the same year I got into BIONICLE. I loved it and always know I can return to it when I need a quick fix of pure happiness. There are not many things in the world that I have zero negative associations with and BIONICLE, especially Mask of Light, is one of them.
  19. I really like the Toa of Plasma. Even with nothing groundbreaking in terms of part use, mimicking the simplicity of the original Mata, he looks like an actual Toa who could have washed ashore on Su-Wahi. The Toa of Water basically just looks like a blue Pohatu to me, but I like the image of her water powers in use, that was creative.
  20. This is beautiful. Congrats, your mask design is going to haunt my nightmares.
  21. I feel alone in liking the serials. Sure, they weren't perfectly polished. They didn't always make sense if you thought about them rationally. But they were fun to read, and in a good way I think they show off Greg's experience writing Star Wars RPGs. Seriously, imagine a D&D session with Greg as DM. That would be awesome.
  22. I have Toa Mata Nui's pearl gold Ignika, a prototype all-black Skrall shield, and most of the 2001 misprints.
