  1. The PMships cover operating costs, and very very little else. Alas, it would be nice!
  2. I bought this set, hung out with Nuju Metu, and can say confidently the function is a delight, the scorpion-style body is a delight, but the fusion of the two is awkward.

    A Small Confession

The thing the Nuva had over the Phantoka/Mistika is at least three versions of the Hau used for other characters.

WE ARE BUX BRETHREN DO YOU FEEL ME
  5. Canadians are weird. BZP needs to wait another year for that, it's American!
  6. Hooray, blog crazy week is my favourite week!
  7. BZP is now as old as I was when I joined. Wow.
  8. This is the best mask. <3
  9. The entry period ending during Brickfair definitely adds a bit of a time crunch for those of us going. Time to get to work!
  10. Can confirm, bought all but Ekimu at LEGOLAND CA yesterday.
  11. Yep, the mask's role and existence has been confirmed since October, at least? I've seen people posting elsewhere that everyone's been trying to deny the Mask of Time even exists, but promotional material has been quite clear that the Protectors used the mask to summon the Toa.

To Beard or Not To Beard

    Where?
  13. I have never enjoyed laser tag ever, and was always really really bad at it (which is part of what makes it not fun, let's be honest, it's terrible to be the worst at something in a group of people taking something seriously). But it was really really fun last year (and apparently as long as Friar Tuck isn't there, I'm actually kind of good at it?) I liked it. I want to do it this year but getting the trip paid for itself first is crazy priority one.
  14. One for 35, got a second for 20. Feels nice.
  15. You hit the nail on the head with the "one of". The PoJ is the sole reason I made the qualifier, but its status as a smaller, more impulse-level set makes it feel like less of a set of importance in that regard. To bolded section: I can't for the life of me, with the way grammar works, see how it implies you took the photo (especially with the "official bow-on-the-back" qualifier), but if it bothers you, sure? The photos by the member in question aren't what I'm referring to, I'm referring to the official set image you posted from the LEGO website, which is (shamefully) also on the back of the set's box. I just hadn't paid enough attention to the official images, assuming I knew what I needed from the in person NYTF images. That was wrong!
  16. Kind of an extrapolation, but the last several years in a row have each had 1750 of each minifig given away at SDCC, as documented on several fansites. The assumption, and I make no bones about it, it is an assumption, is that the number is the same again this year, and is no different for the mask vs the figs. A lot of assumptions, but they seem pretty sound.
  17. A big group of people probably went into the raffle, winning and handing off six to the one person in the group who wanted to sell them. It is a raffle, so some kids might lose and some older folks may win. Still, it's a bit fishy that he got six. Haha it seems so obvious now. Technically nothing wrong with that.. So either the raffle was leaning pretty heavily towards the winning side or people just kept getting very lucky. ~|ET|~ I mean there were what, nearly 1800 of them? That's more than twice those given out at NYCC, and that was over four days. That said, it's already down to 30ish on ebay. Even if it goes below that, I picked one up for 35. That's less than a Saturday ticket to SDCC would have cost me (and I wanted to go pretty badly, it's just a 20 minute drive away!) I don't see this one going for a lot in the long run, which is good for those who want it!
  18. Let me clarify: it's not so much that I find the color choices unoriginal as a complete scheme (we've not seen a set with trans-lime, trans-orange, and silver together as its primary colors before, in my memory), it's more that I feel like trans-lime, trans-orange, and silver are colors that BIONICLE has overused and turned to frequently - separately - and I wished that 70794 introduced some less-common, more "original/inspired" colors. Let's have a hot pink Tahu, his red is overused. I know you're being a little facetious, but that sounds awesome.
  19. I rather like all the schemes for the entire summer wave. Spoilers for my review, I guess.
  20. I was there two days ago and they were not yet available. The only new summerish LEGO sets were the Ant-Man set, and the Ninjago spinners. Nothing else though.
  21. This is beautiful. Wow. But what happened to Skylor? Anyone watching the show that can tell me??
  22. I live in the same city and can't go. That's life!

    Skull Warrior

Where is that image from? It's not in the instructions for the set itself, which is why in my review I've mostly finished I haven't even attempted mounting it on the back.
  24. I hope so. None of Lego's current solutions for eggs (1x1 tiles, Barraki eyes, etc.) are really ideal. So long as this piece isn't larger than a 1x1 brick, it should be useful in a wide number of applications.Right??? Asking the important question here, you and I!
