  1. Actually, in TLR, the visual representations of the characters were not very accurate, as they resembled the sets (i.e. looked like giant walking toys), and not the proper 85% organic and 15% mechanic proportions. Again, I think the middle thumb thing was more inclined towards the fact that lego didn't want to make two different molds for the hand, instead of canon accuracy. Other than that, I think your theory is quite plausible.
  2. Matoran is actually pretty easy to read. Look at each figure carefully and compare it to the English capital letter equivalent. It normally looks quite similar.(More) On topic: No, I haven't actually read them. Thanks for the information! Love the game, but never completed it. Guess I can always do that again?
  3. I tend to buy BIONICLE and Hero Factory sets, so I just dump it all out and build. The titan sets I almost always build with instructions (at least the older ones, since the newer ones are much simpler, and I can build many parts without instructions). However, the medium-small sets, I make it a rule never to look at the instruction booklet (at the box cover/back cover instead), unless I'm stuck on a part for more than ten minutes. It keeps building fun, due to the simplicity of the newer sets. I also occacionally make small modifications to the sets, using the parts provided, if the set is difficult to move, or play with the original configuration, or if it simply looks better without or with a certain piece shifted/removed.Anyone do similar building methods?
  4. Will this become canon? (I am unsure, but i don't think it's likely) - just to clarify.
  5. We all want BIONICLE to return, me included. I think if it were to return, it would not likely be HF's replacement, as LEGO has to make sure most people don't remember it (they need it to be fresh, new). If it comes back, it would likely be a few series after HF.They would have to start with a storyline much farther into the future, so they may begin a new story, in an unfamiliar world (future Bara Magna - may be still tribal and not technologically advanced - I really like the idea of technological beings residing in a very gritty, yet beautiful, natural environment - which is what I believe helped BIONICLE gain so much success).Sorry, went slightly off-topic for a moment. HF's replacement could be something a little less technologically advanced, for a change, similar to how BIONICLE went from rural (Island of Mata Nui) to Hi-tech (Metru Nui) to rural (the rest of the story). They need a change. I do not think they will be going more organic. It just fits better with sleek, mechanical beings, as all the designs look very armoured and metallic.
  6. It really depends on the way they use their powers. In Dark Mirror, Alternate Pohatu was able to send a tremor through Metru Nui, alerting the other members of the resistance to the coup. According to what was stated above, Onua sends tremors, not Pohatu. It is possible that most of Metru Nui is made of stone, so that could be plausible. I believe Onua and Pohatu can control most of the same substances, but the difference lies in their personalities, as how an earth "personality" would take more caution in action than a stone "personality." The distinction between the elements has always been, and probably always will be, very vague. There is just too much overlap. It is possible, though, that stone Toa are just more used to controlling hard earth, or basically, rock. Earth users may not be able to manipulate such a high density substance, though can control it to some extent, and stone Toa are not used to controlling such low-density substances, such as earth, but can also control it to some extent. This is similar to electricity and magnetism. electricity is the movement of electrons, while magnetism is the concentration of electrons (negative charges) opposing an area that lacks electrons (a positively charged area).
  7. I thought TF Animated was the best (i've only watched cybertron, Animated, and Prime so far - okay laugh, I deserve it) since cybertron was too cheesy, and prime was also cheesy, but i didn't like how bumblebee "talked" - that annoying high-pitched, humming? Buzzing? I don't even know what it is. I felt that prime's environment (especially the town) was very empty, and almost abandoned, save the main characters and supporting characters. The art style was generally "dark," and I appreciate that, but I would like to see more "bright" settings - seeing the show made me feel slightly depressed. Another thing is that I can't seem to buy the fact that Raf, a 12 year old kid, is able to beat Ratchet, a technologically superior being working as a "medic" (basically a technician). At least Animated had a more realistic approach to the "better than TFs at their own thing" thing, where Sumdac actually studied their technology and was able to reverse engineer it, and therefore has a better understanding on how to repair/build space bridges.I really like where the new season is going, though, Prime losing his memory, and becoming a decepticon. Really nice twist. TFA - I like this quite a lot, as the roles of the autobots are more well defined, with military rankings, and proper "jobs" for them (eg. space bridge technician). I also like how they each have their own unique ability/weapon, so that they have to use each other's strengths to fight the decepticons, who have infiltrated the political system on cybertron.
  8. Personally, I think that the series is one of the best (if not the best) animated television series out there. It's got an epic storyline, diverse settings, and an amazing soundtrack. Nowadays, if you look at the selection of TV programs being aired, you can only find a few programs like this (if you find any at all). Hated the movie, by the way. The bending effects were way out of sync (remember the group of "imprisoned" earthbenders fighting back, stomping their feet in unison, and garnering a tiny wall? Or the part where Aang tries to water bend in front of the lake, and it looks like underwater fountains are at work?) though I do appreciate the realness of it. What's the deal with firebending though? You can't CREATE fire? Except for Iroh, of course. There were only 6 jokes in the movie (yes, I counted) when it's supposed to be a more light hearted, family oriented movie. They also made Sokka so much more serious, and virtually destroyed his character, so that we didn't hear any Sok-casm (Sokka Sarcasm - Source: Avatar Extras). Sorry for ranting. I'm not trying to start a flame war, just pointing out my huge disappointment in the movie. Fact: M. Night Shyamalan is the writer, producer, AND director for this movie (conclusion: it's all HIS fault http://www.bzpower.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/angry.png ). Actually, the reason he showed interest in doing a movie for the franchise is that his children are into it. Right after i watched the movie, I couldn't help but think, his kids must hate him for doing the movie. I'm pretty sure he did very little research into the story, as he really has ALOT of mistakes to correct in terms of characters. HIs main mistake was that he tried to condense about 440 minutes of story into a 103 minute film. He could've done a prequel, or a direct sequel to the franchise, though I think a prequel would be better, as you wouldn't need to explain the entire 3 seasons of the series for that. I'm just really disappointed in the movie. Moving on....I think the Legend of Korra is going to be great. Same team, same quality, new story.
  9. America Maori Culture is not that well known. Maori culture is not american at all. It is from new zealand and the pacific islands Not trying to be mean or anything, but that was funny! Back on topic - Actually, Bob Thompson, the founder of BIONICLE, had the whole "story bible" (which was originally quite different than the story we knew today) in his head, that the Turaga and matoran were going to go back to Metru Nui, the Inika were going to Voya Nui, and eventually, save Mata Nui. The Inika were actually supposed to be the ones who went into Karda Nui, not the Nuva. I read that information on the Greg Farshtey Dialogue a long time ago, and now I can't find the thread on the forums... It's up to you to believe whether what I said was true.
  10. Well, actually, the Av-toran from Legends 10 didn't die due to old age, they turned into Bohrok because it was their destiny to do so. I think they just transformed, but as Bohrok are simply mechanical, you could say that they died (just not of old age).
  11. Sorry, I was being a little bit harsh there. It's just that people have been blaming Greg for the end of BIONICLE and I don't think that's fair. I know what Am I Poplar Yet? said wasn't exactly blaming Greg, but he's done so much for the storyline it's hard not to get a little upset about it. The main thing was that there isn't going to be any "new blood" as LEGO has (for the time being) ended the franchise and Greg is doing the story for free, so if they want to get in new people, they would have to hire them. Mr Farshtey, like all of us, is a fan of BIONICLE, to the extent that he would keep the story going in the hopes that he can expand the universe, and I appreciate that. I'm just a bit disappointed at the lack of support for him. That's just how I see it. Again, I apologise for the seemingly one-dimensional comment I made above.
  12. Well, the "sad" truth is, they won't. He is actually continuing the story by himself, for FREE. You should appreciate what he is doing, as LEGO really can't care less about BIONICLE right now.
  13. Is it just me, or is this feeling a little bit like BIONICLE 2008? 0.o Look at their backgrounds. Evo and Toxic Reapa are in a jungle sort of place. Furno, Jawblade, Splitface and Surge are underwater. Breez and Thornraxx appear to be in a high-flying area. Rocka and Black Phantom are in what looks like the assembly room in the Hero Factory. I wonder what that means....
  14. Dunno. Hit and miss. Heroes:Surge - Colour scheme just looks... bleugghh, though I like the recoloured sword - using it in that way kinda reminds me of Berix using the recoloured Tahu sword, with the pipe on the end. I feel that they should have used different helmets and he looks a bit plain same old armour pieces (not many new pieces) Furno - I like the pipes and turbines. They make him look tougher, bigger, though I think it will get in the way when moving his arms. I also like the new torso armour, with the extra detail. Again, the re-used head. I think they should have redesigned it, so it looks similar to the original, but is different enough that you can tell it's a new set. I see he has ONLY ONE WEAPON, and no melee weapons. What's wrong with adding a sword? I admit, the new launcher looks really cool, but it's just another zamor launcher! For a company that promotes creativity, I don't see many creative sets these days. LEGO Designers: Okay guys, let's make a Hero Factory set! Put the skeleton up. Okay... slap on this piece of armour there, this bigger piece of armour here, and, oh! I got it! Let's make a new launcher which fires the same thing - our zamor ball - but this time, change the TOP half so people will have a new reason to buy it! And put that translucent piece there... etc. Evo - Is it just me, or does he seem smaller, somehow? Anyways, he looks really awesome with his armoured arm, and new helmet, he could pass off as a villain, if you ignore the big H on his chest. I have to say, this helmet is one of the best I've seen in this wave, since it really makes him look awesome, while still retaining some of the original look (cheek-vents). Again, the one launcher weapon. I'm not going to repeat what I have already said, but I still pain about this aspect. This actually looks decent on him, as his arm seems to be designed based on that, though I still which they would give him another weapon, like a chain mace. That would fit his character/aesthetics. Breeze - Wow. Definitely one of the better looking sets. Again, I think they should have redone the helmet, but I don't think they could've done much, as it looks great on this body. In the first wave, I think the head looked a bit over sized.I really like the new shoulder pieces, and it looks like her legs are longer (lower left leg), but they've re-used the original HF feet. Neutral on that. If I get the set, I'm gonna take off the rockets - they just look silly. LOVE the sword and the energy shield (Halo-style), though I think the shield should be on the OTHER hand, because, I mean, how are you going to block with your attacking hand? Rocka - OH. MY. GOSH. He just looks amazing. The one launcher weapon looks great this time, with the translucent bottom, and the crossbow-like parts coming off it. The green energy shield, his helmet, and the machine gun/bow arrow belt, along with the gold and grey colour scheme makes him look FREAKING AWESOME. I dunno, but his helmet makes me think of the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. Villains:Toxic Reapa - He looks beast. Really. Looks like a more organic Corroder, and I love his colour scheme (LOADS of translucent lime). My only worries are that the green fire bits may fall off easily, and his height. HIs legs are VERY short. Does he look so menacing now? Jaw Blade - I appreciate his shark-ness, but for me, stubby arms on a shark just seems really awkward, and his body looks a bit sparse in terms of parts. The edged fins and head look really good though. I predict he will be one of the smaller sets. Thornraxx - Less sparse than Jaw Blade, but still, I have doubts about this one. The thornax launcher coming out of its mouth just doesn't cut it. The head reminds me of a Visorak head, with the pincers and all. Might be hard to manipulate, and if you look closely, I think he's got an extended neck. I just noticed - THE TEAL!!! Well, at least I hope it's teal, because on the Mistika pictures, I thought Tahu was going to be Mata red, due to the photoshopping they did Twoface Splitface - Definitely buying this guy. Each side of him has its own thing going, and even the helmet's in two parts! The print really helps as well. Black Phantom - His helmet is really cool, but his thighs look unshielded. I love the torso piece, Visorak launcher, and his super-duper-uber-ultra-rocking-footstompin' mace! In my opinion, I think Witch Doctor's legs were the best, as well as his arms. I see he has the FIre Lord's feet as well.
  15. Wait - Oh, I thought you were talking about an actual Vahi - set wise, sorry.

  16. Something in your sig says something about you getting a Vahi - right? I am envious

    Bionicle #5 Treatment

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - That was EPIC. I imagined it as a movie in the animation style of TLR, and the plot was fit for the next chapter of BIONICLE! This makes me even sadder about the ending of BIONICLE - It could've been so awesome... You know, they should've released all the five Glatorian and Skrall as the end to the BIONICLE sets, so it could at least be a proper canister ending to it - LEGO should've done that instead of altering the storyline and sets.
