I did the exact same thing with both Lego Racers 1 & 2; I played them again. I already beat 1 but I never had the patience to complete 2. When I played 2 the second time I beat it in a night! They're the best computer games ever.

To make gloss an easy way is to use the eclipse tool and drag it over your pic about halfway then fill it with white and lower the opacity of that layer. To do more common way is a bit more difficult. Since Gimp doesn't have a curve tool. I suggest browsing for a tutorial online.
