  1. Hey all you MOCers! You should send some cool MOCs to BFAL2014! We had a good turn-out last year, and I think we're already on track to surpass our numbers from last year! That's awesome. Keep building things and don't forget to send them in! PM me for my address. [send your mocs to BFAL emoji]
  2. Aqua Man is pretty OP. He has ridiculous range, and the move of his where he stabs the ground and the trident appears under/below you is wicked powerful. I haven't really played with Green Lantern or Nightwing yet. My favorite is Flash for now. Great move set, cool Super, and he's quick yet still does decent damage. You can add me, I'd like to put in a few practice rounds.

    Injustice

On Saturday, a handful of my friends came over to my apartment. One of them brought along newly released Injustice: Gods Among Us. We began playing the story and much to our surprise were immediately intrigued by the depth of the story a (for fighting game, at least). Seeing your favorite super heroes become super villains isn't necessarily the most unique idea, but the story is blockbuster-y enough to warrant the 4 to 5 hours straight it took to finish the story line. On more than one occasion we had to verbally refresh ourselves on where the story had taken us and where exactly we were taken across the universe. Even after beating the game in one sitting Saturday night, I went to Best Buy today to buy the game for myself on Sunday. I'm the first to admit that I'm not the best at fighting games by any means, but Injustice does a fantastic job of introducing unfamiliar fighters to the genre while still layering in the mechanics that would make any enthusiast grin. Picking from a handful of the biggest DC heroes and villains certainly adds a layer of appeal to me as well. I've only spent about 2 or so hours practicing my skills outside of the singleplayer campaign. If you'd like to clash in a few practice rounds against me, feel free to send me an invite on Xbox Live.

    PAX East 2013

I highly recommend that you go next year! PAX is simply amazing. It's been the annual highlight for me three years running now. Be sure to get tickets early for 2014!
  5. I beat Bioshock earlier last week and have yet to play through again. I wanted the ending to really sink in before I jumping into Columbia so quickly again. Currently Dark Souls is absorbing most of my free time. I'll get around to the rest of the Bioshock achievements here soon, though. Truth be told, I actually, kind of, miss those busy semesters...back when I knew exactly what I was working towards. Good luck on the rest of your semester. When do you anticipate on graduating? And yeah those games are about as different as night and day. Because I hear they're both great games! And new Halo maps tomorrow! Will you be on at all?
  6. What's up? How have you been lately? What's on your mind? How is your semester going? Have you played any cool games lately? I don't have a topic I wanted to write about, so I figured I'd ask you guys how you're doing. Talk about anything, I like listening to people.
  7. As has become tradition, I went to PAX East 2013 in Boston this past weekend. My good friends Andrew, Nate and Adrian (and others not on these forums) accompanied me. If I may, I believe I speak for the entire group in saying we all had an extraordinary time. This was my third time in Boston and my affection for that city grows every year. I would highly enjoy the chance to visit the city outside of PAX and experience of the culture that town has to offer. Maybe this weekend I'll write a blog summarizing some of the things we saw at the expo center. I think I ended up spending more time in the Indie Mega Booth than seeing AAA titles. Regardless, I still played and saw some amazing games. I'd also like to thank Andrew, Nate and Adrian again. You guys are seriously awesome fellas and I had a blast hanging out with you! I don't think we could all hang out again soon enough. Miss you guys!
  8. Yeah he does THANKS BECCA

    Dark Souls

I can't stop playing Dark Souls. Help meeeeeeeee
  10. I logged into the forums to update the Staff History topic (Thanks, Ziko!) and noticed I had a birthday topic I hadn't checked out yet. A few people commented about my inactivity on the forums. Over the past six months I've started a real job and moved into my own apartment. Full-time work takes a good bit of energy out of you, and I chose to relax mostly by watching Netflix, Hulu or playing my Xbox with friends. I hate to admit it, but BZPower isn't always on my mind when I get home. However, I still get ALL reports sent to my phone and tablet. I will always have an eye out on BZPower. This website was probably more influential in my teenage years than I realize, so I'm never going to fully abandon the site. I was the Bionicle coordinator at BrickFair Alabama this year, so I've still got at interest in LEGO and BZPower. And there are tentative plans in the pipeworks for a few things that would require more of my (and some other staff) direct attention. So while I haven't been the most active staffer, I still hang around and log on every once in a while. I may not post or blog every day, but I'll never go away. And thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a great day!
  11. Topic updated to reflect some of the recent (or not so recent...) Staff changes. Thanks to Ziko!
  12. Disney World is such a fun time! I can never help but get a huge, stupid grin on my face the first time I see Cinderella's castle. It truly is a magical place. Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Carribean, Splash Mountain - they're all a blast! Next time you go, you better go to Universal as well. Also, no pictures? You fail me!
  13. As Andrew said, your instructions were very thorough. Thanks! Your Flower MOC received numerous compliments and had quite a few pictures taken. I'd also like to extend my gratitude to everyone else who sent in MOCs - all of you rock! I'll be sure to be the Bionicle Coordinator again next year, and hopefully we'll plan far enough in advance that more people can send awesome creations. Andrew, thanks for such a great time! I honestly had a blast the entire weekend. PAX can't come soon enough!
  14. Uhhhhhhhhhh. Where is Ender's Game. (It's probably going to be butchered, but still, I'm going to see it.)
  15. I've met two of my closest friends from the site - Than and Black Six. In fact, Andrew and I hung out all last weekend at BrickFair AL!The only other person I've met is Takuma Nuva at the Mall of America in Minneapolis. I'm hoping to make it to BrickFair VA this year, though, so I may have more to add to my list later.
  16. Argo and Zero Dark Thirty were two amazing films. Both follow a similar method of story telling, but are exceptional none-the-less.
  17. I've wanted to read the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo ever since I saw the Swedish version of the movie on Netflix. Many of my friends have highly recommended World War Z and the Dresden files. I'd really like to get all three of those books this year.
  18. I'm sorry you can't make the events! This is only my second BrickFair. I am definitely looking forward to seeing your creation(s)! Just be sure to PM me so we can get the address information set up.
  19. We need to go farming again. D:
  20. The new year is right around the corner, and soon after that is BRICKFAIR ALABAMA 2013! I've volunteered to be the Bionicle Coordinator and I'd love to see as big a turnout for MOCs as possible! Send some stuff! If you do plan on sending anything (even the smallest MOCs count!), be sure to read the article and PM myself or Andrew. We may only have a few short weeks, but what else have you got to do on your holiday breaks? I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and have an even better new year!
  21. I love your profile picture. It's mesmerizing.

      Calvirick

Thanks! The color combination is what I appreciate the most.

  22. It'd be cool if I could play multiplayer.

    New Job!

Oh, no, sorry for the confusion. I meant me along the lines of I had the job unless I was hiding something from my background, which I definitely wasn't. Lol. I'm going to go ahead and say the government is definitely more strict. I'm not sure I would survive working at Starbucks. I'm excited for the experience. I'm with some great and highly intelligent guys. I really hope my access is granted on Monday so I can start to dig into some code.

    Hurricane Sandy

I hope everything goes well for you! Hurricanes are not to be taken lightly but I'm sure you've taken necessary precautions.
