^Flickr Gallery^ Desmodus rotundus, the Common Vampire Bat. Its diet of blood has been the inspiration for several mythical monsters and ghost stories, including the modern Vampire, the Chupacabra, and the Mayan Peuchen. What better creature of the night to build for BBCC #71: The Witching Hour? Entry Picture Wings Side View My main goals with this entry were first, to build an anatomically correct vampire bat using Bionicle parts and to build a set of wings for said bat that fold realistically. And I think I'm happy with how both goals turned out. Feel free to comment, critique, and enjoy (and hopefully vote)!

This question came up over in my Simplifying the Species List topic, and now I'm kind of wondering what everyone has to say on it. The living beings in the MU are divided up between Sapient Species and Rahi. The former category of course includes beings like Toa, Skakdi, and Vortixx, while the latter contains Muaka, Nui-Jaga, and Rock Raptors. It's a pretty easy distinction to make, even for someone who doesn't quite understand the meaning of "sapience." But then... we have the unusual cases. Airwatcher was known to capture rocks and trees and said to be extremely unintelligent. On the other hand, "Rahi" such as Krahka, Artahka Bulls, and Keetongu have exhibited all the traits of a sapient species, but still remain categorized as Rahi. As a quick refresher, Dictionary.com defines Sapience as "having or showing... sound judgement." Obviously, creatures such as a Muaka live by instinct and make few judgments in their everyday lives. There is no right nor wrong to them, and intelligence below humanity. But to beings like Krahka and Keetongu, there is a right and wrong; they can choose which friends to help and foes to fight. They can even communicate with other sapient species. So... is there an actual reason to this categorization? Is the definition of "Rahi" different from what we may call an animal? Are the terms "Rahi" and "Sapient Species" mutually exclusive? Or was this just an arbitrary decision that was not well thought out when put into canon?

Happy Lunar New Year My kids learned about the Chinese zodiac and the twelve year old twins were jazzed that this year, Year of the Goat, is their year. So I put together a little ram and thought I'd share it with my BZPeeps. I'm always tinkering so if you have suggestions please share. I'd like to improve the head in particular. Bio: The Storm Rams are rarely seen. Once in a dozen years, they descend from the cloud-shrouded peaks. If a villager plays their favorite flute-song good fortune will follow them for a year. You have to be quick. Soon the rams return to the mists regions where they clash and race causing thunder and lightning. Side View Gallery

It's been a while. I haven't posted in quite a long time, but I wouldn't miss a contest. I finished this just last night. I heard late that there was a BBCC going on, and feared I had missed it, but luckily the deadline was extended. So I had eight hours to build a decent animalistic warrior, or five, because sleep. I found that rushing and haste hinder creativity, and I ended up with something... unsatisfactory. This That isn't my entry. This is my entry; Don Toise, lieutenant of some army somewhere. The entire building process was chaotic and confusing. I found a couple of unfinished projects and smashed them together. Pieces went everywhere, and while picking them up, I decided to take a different unfinished MOC and upgrade him with the parts of the... dismantled ones. BUILDING PROCESS -I started with a plain Makuta skeleton. The shoulders extended up and over, where dozens of tiny connectors held it together. He was equipped with two layers of plated cladding on his upper body. The plain shielded arms were stuck in there to help the shelled look. The legs were originally very short and sturdy, but to make it more animalistic, an extra part was added to each side along with extra cladding. The head is very awkward and large, with random tusks with no visible mouth. The other two white spikes gave a mustachioed illusion in the prototyping stage. This has since deteriorated into a weird mask covering his lower face. - He doesn't have much of a story, really. All that is known is that his jaw was injured in battle, so he wears... that white junk with the silver thing sticking out of the bottom. His name was inspired by Donatello of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the old version) and Blastoise from the Pokemon games. His title was chosen because he looked like some kind of biomechanical military dude. General Don Toise didn't give off the same feel as Lieutenant , so the latter was chosen. I'll bet you can't guess what animal he is. ^Click the picture for the gallery (when public)^ Comments and constructive criticism appreciated! Thanks!

Hey everyone! I'm posting my entry for BBC #64. Not hoping to win, but entering is fun. Other pic Back Torso For more pics look on Brickshelf or MOCpages (coming soon). The name is, of course, rhino spelled backwards. Because this is a mighty rhino warrior with a might mace and a Chi heart. C&C welcomed. Good look to everyone!

Flickr | Brickshelf Just your regular soldier of Heck. I've had this scaly beast in the works for a while now. A few months and some questionably-illegitimate piece connections later, and it's finished. This isn't specifically related to the actual Nidhogg of Norse mythology, only named after it due to similarity in character. Not much else to say I guess. Mocs speak for themselves. Lemme know what you think. C: Could swear the limit was 500KBs. Whatever, I got a smaller version. :B Edit: Yeah, the limit on the rest of BZP is 500 kB, that's true. BBC's kinda special though and does actually have a tighter restriction on image dimensions and file size. Check out the fourth paragraph here. And thanks for fixing it! -Wind- That's stupid but okay. :U

So this is a MOC I made a little while ago for the Hero Factory Recon building contest. Unfortunately I didn't get a whole lot of feedback, so here's hoping for more.Click for gallery.Hope you enjoy, and C&C is greatly appreciated.=)Edit: Please keep posted images in BBC to 100 kB or less, and posted images on the rest of BZP to 500 kB or less. Flickr | Brickshelf Zetta is sentient, dragon-shaped super computer created as part of an "artificial omniscience" project. It was tasked to orbit its local star system and silently copy data from all nearby computer systems. Zetta has recently escaped from it's original orbit and is now breaching security systems across the galaxy. ---- I had been working on this MOC for all of last year (if my memory serves, I first started designing it in late 2010 ._.), but only recently finished and photographed it. It was fairly hard to photograph properly due to its size (26 inches from head to tale), so I apologize if some of the full view pictures aren't so good. Its physical appearance is a cross between a serpentine dragon and a jet plane. The backstory was made with Hero Factory in mind, though I don't know if I still consider him a Hero Factory Villain. The name is derived from Zettabyte, a byte size beyond the capacity of any current computer. So yeah C&C appreciated or whatever you BBC people like to say.

Love making animal MoCs. It provides a challenge, and there's a huge amount of things you can build. I also love wolves. With that being said:http://www.mocpages.com/image_zoom.php?mocid=307468&id=/user_images/50082/1328220664m_DISPLAY.jpgHope you like it!
