  1. The Driver

    Yay

Lots of new stuff today: Got myself a Flickr account, and I uploaded my Entry for the LGD contest. Boundless will resume soon. Oh, and school starts tomorrow... -|IXI
  2. First and foremost, I'd like to wish Kay (KKN_GN) a happy 14th birthday! As I've stated elsewhere, 14 was a great year for me – hope it is for you, too. Since you seem to have enjoyed the date so far. As for the grey part of the title, that's referring to my day, which was unusual in many respects. For one thing, it stormed all day. Not that I object to that – I love rain. However, this involved high winds, downpours as we were in various parking lots (and at home – I wasn't even dry standing on the porch, thanks to the wind), several light flickerings, and general darkness outside. I suppose the only reason I object was that I didn't get to properly enjoy it, as otherwise I would have been quite fine with such weather. I also had lunch at four in the afternoon. We went out to browse various furniture stores late in the morning and didn't get home until three, after which I wasn't even hungry but decided I would do better to eat something, which manifested itself in the form of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Some time after that, the storm kicked up again, just as we were listening to Sibelius's Tone Poems, some of which matched the storm eerily. And then there was one part where the wind and music coincided – whenever the music got louder, the wind rose; when it softened, the wind dropped down. Spooky. Which reminds me ... I think I'll work on that vampire story some more tonight ... And I guess this goes under Life, as it does deal with lives, even if not all of them are mine. – ToM
  3. *You will not believe how many times today I have tried to post this:* *Sniff* I wrote a nice long entry earlier, then my sister kicks me off while its still loading....An hour later I figure out I got a Board Message and it never worked. ;_; So tis' I be rewriting this. Ok, I got to go to the sleepover (Thank goodness), even though I was 3 hours late because mom wanted me to do chores and to finish up some school, then of course my sister was coming as she was already going to be late as she had soccer practice. So anyway, I get there and eat some dinner, we hang out for a moment and talk for a awhile, get situated, then we decide to have a random contest: To see who can die the coolest. So, I partner up with my friend Tori, and she dressing up as 'her' all famous Barney (Long story, will explain later). I steal her ring (LotR one), she chokes me, I die. With no surprise of course, we lost and had to do the chicken dance...In the middle of the road. After that, we get to watch Larry Boy and the Bad Apple, which I must say that episode was REALLY COOL. My favorite Larry Boy one, and of course, Alfred owns you....I need to get him as my avatar. By then its late, and so we all head outside, and start setting up things in the tent we are sleeping in, watch another Veggietales or two, then we read some of our stories we were working on, and after that we all start randomly walking around outside. I was missing our old habit of playing around, (Like playing LotR, Star Wars, etc) So did my other few friends. So we decided to play Pirates of the Caribbean, for the first few moments it was awkward, but after awhile it was really fun. Our other friends thought we were being very immature and silly, but com'on! We have 3 years left to be young and foolish. I don't want to grow up to fast. Anyway, its just like acting, just without an audience, or your not recording it. By 2 in the morning we finally go to sleep, and wake up around 8. Eat food, talk....And then take group pictures of us, wearing goofy hats and actually being serious! XD Nothing much happened after that save for talking....But I can't wait for next month’s sleepover! ________ On the note of what’s going on Internet wise, I am entering AC12, I personally think the theme is good. Confusing, but good. I also believe I have an idea that might work out.... And also trying to decide if I should use Acrylic Paints or CG it.... (No more color pencils for the moment, I need to try some new things) Finished a request and got another one ready to show, along with another picture or two. So expect an art update within the week or so.
  4. Well, today's my birthday. Guess what I got? That's right. A new computer. I finally have an XP (Thank God!) and get this: A FLAT SCREEN MONITOR!!! My 18th is my best birthday yet!!! Also, KIE came by yesterday and returned my Bounty Hunter. He also gave me something rather special: An official Free The Band sticker. This is no ordinary cheap plastic-like sticker, no. This sticker is about as high of a quality as LEGO Bricks themselves. It's made out of a DURABLE cloth-like material. Unfortunately, KIE couldn't stay long because he was going to rendezvous with his parents at his brother's house. If not for his brother being so close, I may not have met the Master of the Voting Booth to begin with. Also, I went to a local football game yesterday. I haven't been to one of those in soooo long. My brother plays in his school's band, so I drove him there and stayed to watch. We (by which I mean my brother's school) literally massacred our adversary. The final score was 39 to 7, our favour. And guys still waiting on your various requests, I'm coming as fast as I humanly can. All the same, give me a break. Birthdays come but once a year... Per person, that is. ~GN (Y)

    New Tunes

Got a new MP3... scratch that, media player today. Plays both music and video files. Only the screen is so small it hurts your eyes. It made the Final Fantasy 13 trailer look bad ;.;. Music sounds good though, and it has this little nifty display screen. LGD Entry is going fast, compared to the front that is. And it'll be a breeze to construct, compared to the front that is. And since the front was a deep pit of sheer pain and suffering... Spent almost 6 hours on it... Go figure. The rest should take about 4 maybe 5, and that includes everything. Haven't worked on it as much as I wanted to today, since Loki and I went to make the streets of Harlingen a little less safe xD. We had a good time though, with the traditional Burnout Revenge session of course. Let's see, anything else I need to share? Err... nope. -|IXI
  6. I've recently decided that The Memory of Trees is my favorite song ever. Not just Enya song – although it does top Orinoco Flow, Pax Deorum, It's in the Rain, Less than a Pearl, Cursum Perficio, Watermark ... to name a few, as I could go on listing a great many of her songs. Favorite song out of all the ones I've heard. And it simply occured to me, rather than me going through a list and having to pick a favorite, which makes me all the more convinced that it is. The song itself, if you hadn't heard it, is listed as instrumental and voices (all of which are Enya), but it does have lyrics – I think they're Gaelic, but not knowing Gaelic I don't know what they mean. It's not a slow song, but it's relaxing, and it has a sort of powerful, inspiring, and somewhat other-worldly quality to it, but without being loud or forceful, much like trees themselves. It's particularly fitting for today's weather around here – we've had cloudy skies and not grey days for the past few days (which admittedly I'm fond of), but today there's bright sun, and because it's rained so recently the leaves and grass haven't lost their vibrant color yet. But it isn't hot at all, even though it's still summer – it's quite cool and pleasant at about 64˚F (19˚C), so it's nothing like your typical summer day. So it's both light and cool, but everything is still green because fall hasn't quite started yet. And there's a certain harmony in the fact that the Quenya phrase for "The Memory of Trees" is I Enyalië Aldaron ... – ToM
  7. Well, I'm all packed up! Tomorrow morning I'm leaving to Tennessee for a family reunion type thing. I'll be gone for about a week. Hopefully We'll get our new van before we leave. They were supposed to bring it from Missouri yesterday, but drove on through to in Texas. Also, the temperature here has dropped dramatically. Yesterday was in the 80's, today was in the 60's! Hooray for cooler weather! And it's not humid anymore! ,4^

    Dadgum...

    Hello all, I feel much better, and thank you for the encouragment...I guess I am still rather new at art and it does take practice...But I still wished I did a better job. Maybe next time? Anyhow, I feel like being random.... I went to the dentist, got my braces to be glow-in-the-dark. I am still doing school, and its almost 5. I GOT MY HAIR CUT AND ITS BLOODY SHORT!!1 I will take a picture of it. I still can't think of a band name. I actually got new clothes, yay. I will update art soon.... Jack: ;_;
  9. The date above is exactly 17 years ago. It's the date of my birth. And so far this birthday weekend was the best ever =D. Last saturday Loki, Robin ('nother friend, who's birthday is in two days) and me had a 'party'. Well party... We hit the streets of our town, traversed it over and over again and ended on a lonely road looking at the stars. And we found out you can see the milky way here. Which was awesome. Went to sleep that sunday around 4 in the morning, which kinda ruined the whole day xD. Family is coming over this evening. I did get to work on my entry for LGD4, it's around 25-30%. It took around 3/4 hours to get this far, but that's because the front is... complex. Very complex. If you know my work you know what I find complex. I have some WIP pics, 'old' ones, I made quite some progress since them. But our printer/cardreader has gone haywire, becaue of the storm a few entries back. So we need a new cardreader. Gonna get that tomorrow. Little summary on it: It's an agressive, angular styled craft, designed for both spacial and aquatic travel. A hybrid in short. Initial idea was to have a sort of octopus styled craft, but the big windshields that would make up the cockpit proved to bring the overall shape down. I'm going for a different cockpit now, one that opens up at the very front. It is a new challenge for me, since I have to combine the best of both worlds, but so far it's going in the right direction. Fortunately, I've build up a lot of experience over the last year. Oh, and if you want to have an idea what style it's in: Skunk Works R-Blade No idea when it's finished, but I'm guessing it will be done this saturday. It might not be up by then though, timing is everything. Boundless has been delayed, as you might've noticed. Sorry, but all my creative energy is going to my entry. It'll be back when I finish my entry. Well, entry for t'day. Thanks Loki for the Birthday topic in COT. And everyone that has posted in it/will post in it . -|IXI
  10. So yes hullo dear people from far and near. I guess I need to update huh? Well starting on Friday... BUT BE WARNED. LONG ENTRY. As I said, my sister had a sleepover/shopping party on Friday and Saturday. So a lot of the day besides school was cleaning up and such to get ready for the guest. So when they all get here, we hang out in my sister and my room to talk for awhile, then we go load ourselves with sugar and cokes before leaving for the Mall. I was originally not going, but I haven't been to the mall in months, so I decided to go. Which I am glad I did. So we get there, and organize where we are going and if we are splitting up, so we shopped around and I finally got to go Hot Topic. Which I just totally LOVE that store (save for a few things there). I was going to buy a t-shirt that said "Are you a Ninja or Pirate?" But it was too much. In fact any shirt I saw that I wanted was too much. So I bought a neat armband that says "Pirates arrr cool." I am wearing it right now. That's really the only thing I bought there, but if you want to count the Mountain Dew I bought. But this thing WAS HUGE. So that really got us hyper. So after eating a snack, we left and went to Target. Where my friend Aryn was serious on blowing all her money on food. Which she sadly never succeeded in. But after looking around at the music, movies and video games we just talked. A lot. So then we finally get home, and we once again just hang around and talk. Though my friend Aryn just gets a kick out of it when she watches me talk to some of my internet buds, so we did that for awhile. My mom gets back with the pizza, and we fill our selves with it. Oh yummy Pizza.... My friend Marion recently figured out that I had a electric guitar and I recently figured out that she herself plays guitar really good. So we go into a discussion, and hopefully, we can arrange for her to join the band that me and my friend starter. But once again, I think that we should change the name. The Flying Dutchman is a cool name, but it in some degree is already taken and it would suit a guy band much more. SO I want to talk to my friend about it. My friend Aryn (Once again) has a strange obsession over my dad’s instruments. So we get out the banjo, fiddle, another guitar, and something else....So then we're playing then all at the same time, it was fun. But loud. I recorded my dad playing the banjo(which he owns at), and it sounds really cool. The recording got a little blurry, so it sounds almost electric. O.o If I can find a place to upload it, I will show. Enough on that subject, after that, eating and whatnot, we listen to music and go outside playing around till 1 AM. By 3, we have all the beds set up for everyone to sleep. (Cept’ I had to sleep on the floor with only one little blanket ;_ And I don't fall asleep till 4 because SOME people were speaking Spanish for no reason. *Stares* By morning we watch lots of stupid Saturday morning shows, talk some more, and by 12 everyone has left. OK, now that I got that over I have a much more important issue to go through. Today at Sunday, I go to my class before church starts and we learn about some pretty cool stuff, but sadly my teacher taught way to long and got us late. (Which I am a little annoyed at) So then, since I am late, they found someone else to do my PowerPoint job. *Sigh* that really got me mad. I originally was the first person they asked, and I gladly dedicated myself to the job. But now recently, it feels like they fired me from the job. What made it worse was my best friend was doing it lately instead of me, and she was so much better (I messed up time to time) that myself. And it was her first or second try. And I mean, she has already been offered to do the drums during worship session and she is also a great teacher. I hope you can plainly see my feelings were slightly hurt and I am a little jealous over this. Ok but enough about this, after church we discovered that our Admin(Mr. Merol) for the church, his car got stolen during the service. It seems that while Pastor Bob was preaching, the guy just walks in the Admin's office, finds his keys inside a desk, walks out and takes his car. My dad being a deacon of the church, decided to stay with him and help out anyway he could. I was really shocked about all this, and prayed that they would find his car and catch the crook. So later a policeman comes to the church and tells us that they found the car. Sadly, he said the car was totaled because they crashed in the highway from a hot pursuit. I felt really sorry for Mr. Merol (Admin) right there, and the sermon was on ‘Bad Things Happen.’ Which was weird, and also, not a week ago, our pastor got into a car wreck in NC. Dad goes out to the crash site with a few other people from church, and we see what happened, I won’t go into details, but it seems they crashed into a pole. Good news is they caught the bloody crooks! We also learned that after they stole the car, they went to rob a store. I hope they make ‘em pays for the mess they caused, and of all days, on a SUNDAY! I believe that’s enough don’t you agree? But it has been a good week. And I guess I should scan some art, which I do have, so I will work on art and maybe scan tomorrow or whatever. Maybe today? Anyway, PotC: CotBP is coming on tonight, yay!
  11. Wow, a lot's happened in the last few days. Thursday we went to look for a new car, just to look. We weren't planning on buying one. We were looking for one because our current car is falling apart. The air conditioning doesn't work, it just fits our family (7), but it's cramped. And last year the front wheel fell off while my mom was driving somewhere. (Fortunately she didn't get hurt.) Also more recently, last July, the brakes gave out for a bit when we were leaving the park after the fireworks show. It's just plain dangerous. Anyway, Thursday we went to a car dealership to look around and my dad talked with this guy and things happened and we ordered a red 12 passenger van! Someone's driving it from some other state and it will be here Monday! I can't wait! Now I'm typing this at midnight, all pumped with music with the urge to do something fun! ... And now I'm tired. :wakeup2: Oh yeah, today (or actually yesterday, the 26th) we went to Kohls to get swimsuits for this trip we're going on, I think next Friday or Saturday. We're going to Tennessee I think, to meet some relatives I've never met before, except 3 of them. At first I wasn't too excited about it, but now I'm looking forward to the experience. Hey, my clock's batteries are dead... ,4^
  12. Dear diary. ( ) As you might know from this entry by IXI, we had a lot of fun today. Especially when the blackout occurred. Resident Evil: Apocalypse was awesome, gotta have it on DVD. Speaking of DVDs, I bought Equilibrium and Scary Movie 3 today. Going to watch one of them tonight... I'm listening to the CD First Rain by The TRAX right now and it's still great. It's refreshing. Like the thunderstorms earlier today. And... Oh noes... just found out that the Best of Soul Perfect casing is damaged during transport from IXI's home to mine... Gotta get it replaced... Fortunately it's only one of the covers, so it should be a quick fix. V.A.L.E.N.T.I. logging off... Fin.K.L. Lee Jin, Sung Yu-Ri, Ju Hyun Ock, Lee Hyo-Ri

    Omg!

I was on the Free the Band site last night to enter the sweepstakes, clicked on the image and thought, "wouldn't it be nice to win an instant win prize." And to my shock and totally surprized eyes, I WON! Proof I almost passed out from shock. I got one of 500 T-shirt's Lanyard's & poster's! That's one of 1000 instant win prizes, from the possible millions of people out there! I should receive it by October 19... that's a long wait. OMG, I still can't believe it! YAY! (Hey, how long has the hyper emote been back!?) ,4^
  14. ................which a total lie and you know it. I just wanna express my love for Coca-Cola, and to a special someone. But mainly Coca-Cola. If I had to choose between either of the two, well you would assume I would go for the coke, cuz who can deny the taste of the sweet elixir of awesomeness. But I no decide. -Omi
  15. NOOO! Sundays almost over. ;_; It goes by awfully fast huh? Oh well, I can have fun watching Star Trek tonight. Well let’s see, congratulations on getting the Blog of the week Turakii, ye deserved it. Oh yeah....I accidentally deleted a page in PM box that had a lot of PM's that I think I didn't reply to or read yet, so if you guys sent me something in the past few days and didn't get anything, remember it was the delete buttons fault. And also, sorry for me not updating and not being on that much. I had a misunderstanding with my dad last night and nearly got grounded from the computer for a week, I didn't do anything wrong(Not to sound like I am good ), he just thought I disobeyed him when I didn't....So yeah, glad that got sorted. Well, I have ONE more block to add, but I might change/delete that one showing my songs on it. *Shrugs* Oh yes, I have decided to embarrass myself and follow the fad.... Say hello dear! Barbossa: .... Oh come on, say something! Barbossa: Aye, I be havin' nothing to say! Well umm, give him awhile, unlike the very talkative Larry, Barbossa is rather annoyed that I dragged him on here.
  16. It. Is. SO. BLOODY. HOT. *Faints* I thought we escaped the heat wave...We're wrong. The humidity is so awful, and its nearly a 100 last time I checked....Well, that’s what you get for living in a place similar to Aus. Well, this morning my family (Save for my dad) went to the Home School Kick Off. To those who are thinking. 'OMG, you get kicked off?!' It just means the Home School group is kicking off (And families) on school projects, classes, and things like that. Most of my friends were there, so that = VERY HYPER. We got a bunch of name tags and wrote different things on them, and stuck them all over us. Then we got some face paint and put a 'Black Spot' on all of our hands. We are not normal girls. So mom signed me up for Speech, a Drama class and I am doing art. So let’s just hope that won’t be too busy. Yeah right. XD Besides that, my braces randomly decided to hurt my mouth and it’s pretty hot. I need to get some more water. Oh yeah, I fixed up me blog. ^^ I still need to do one more thing, but I'll do that later. Random news: I get to go see pirates III at midnight and dress up!
  17. Wow, well these are one of those days where I have so much to say in so little time, so prepare for a long entry. Well, for starters....Today is Thursday? Well on Monday, dad took me on a 'dad date' that he promised to do for my birthday and never did, but finally did. Anyway, we went to Wal-Mart, Books-A-Million and Sonic. I wasn’t really overjoyed to go to Wally World, but I needed a bookbag and I knew I saw a really cool one there. (Think Pirates everyone...) So I get there, and guess what? I couldn't find it. In fact, I couldn't find the bookbags or backpacks AT ALL. My guess their out of stock...Because WM was awfully crowded, I guess it was because of last minute school supplies. So I decide to go find that Master and Commander Soundtrack I saw, but sadly, it wasn’t there either. >< So I was annoyed, so I go to look for a certain DVD, and it wasn’t there either! So I decide to go see if they had Sims 2 Nightlife(Which they did), so I was about to buy it when...when....I saw a Pirates of the Caribbean game. I couldn't help it, so I bought that instead. It was about 30 dollars, so I don't think I wasted my money on it like I did with Guild Wars, so now my official limit of games is thirty and under. But the game is really fun, and in the files of it, I got the music from it along with some really cool sound effects and stuff. So I got my money out of it. But I just remember I need a few other things. (Amp, etc) So I am saving up again, which is that bad, since I had 5 dollars left over from the game, and dad is paying 10 dollars for some work I did, and mom be paying my chore money soon, so it'll work out. Now, skipping to Wednesday night, dad and I leave about an hour and a half so I and my friend could practice guitars/drums. Thinking over, I don’t think my friends want to start a band, but my one friend (Lauren) still likes the idea, so we are probably going to be a 2 man band, even though it would be nice to find a lead singer since we two don’t think we sing very well, but I think I will ask dad for help on singing, and I could do it. As Laur wants to do drums, and I am focused on guitar. (But we’ll switch around sometimes) Also, we’re thinking of band names….A little boy from our church suggested it to be called ‘The father, the Daughter and the Best Friend’. I like it A LOT, but my dad ain’t going to be in it. XD We thought for awhile about it being called ‘The Flying Dutchman’. But we are neither Dutch nor men. So then we thought about the ‘Pirates who don’t do anything’. Or something around that, but we decided that isn’t very original. So we are kind of stuck. *Shrugs* Any ideas would be nice. After that, we left for a sleepover with some other girls from my church at a teacher who used to be teaching our class. It was really fun and well….crazy as ever. We watched a lot of my friend’s homemade movies and music videos, talked, acted weird, played some board games, and also had fun with our teacher’s two little kids. They are so cute! So…Here I am, sitting at my desk typing away, and my sister yelling at me to get off so she can get on. So I’ll have to post around on BZP later. Because I have a feeling she is going to go tell on me…. (For nothing of which I have done, save for write this entry) Anyway, I think I have finally decided on how I can fix up me blog. But ye will all have to wait! So yall come back ya hear?
  18. The Driver

    Noes

I had a dream last night. I was back on school, getting my books and school picture. It was horrible, my new class was horrible, the picture was horrible, everything was one big pile of damp, stinking, sticky mule droppings. I woke up and the very first thought that crossed my mind was 'Oh mai gaaaaaaaaah!' Then I realised it was all a dream. Thank goodness it was all a dream. Still, it's worrying, I haven't payed attention to school the last... months. Odd I subconsciously think about it. Two weeks before it even starts oO. I was looking forward to it (which is strange to begin with), but now I'm beginning to fear the gaping jaws of Cerberus School in other words. Save me! -|IXI
  19. Wow... This... This just blew my mind... I just found out that one of my best friends... his dad... just... died during the night... This isn't even my dad... But I knew this man, and he was a very kind person... He didn't deserve to die... not yet... Death strikes when you least expect it. I never thought that I would feel this way when someone unrelated to me died... But, I mean... well, I am deeply saddened... I dunno... I can't type anymore... I guess I'll leave this like it is for now... ~GN (Y)
  20. I'm having pizza tonight! Pizza angel please come to me Tomato suace and cheese so gooey... ,4^
  21. The good news is I got a bag of Goldfish crackers! The better news is I'm finally in an air-conditioned room! (I was out for a bit, and our car's AC is busted) The bad news is I can't work at Sharper Image because I'm not 18 yet. The horrible news is my baby sister is throwing up, but has no fever. (She's 10 months old) UPDATE: My sister is feeling much better! She proably just had an upset stomach. Thanks for the prayers Turakii! ,4^
  22. Good day mates! Wow I am pretty hyper and in a pretty good mood. Besides me still getting asked to do requests. Hang in there guys! I am tempted to spiffy up my blog, I would really like to have random fictional characters come into me blog, but Turakii's already doin that. And I guess I could do something with my content blocks, can't think of anything at the moment. *Shrugs* Maybe I should take a freaky pic like Angry Nid did. O.o Oh yeah... Guess what? I GOT AN ELECTRIC GUITAR!!! I have been praying for atleast two years for one, and even though I knew that mom and dad could never afford to buy one for me, I still prayed and saved my own money. But dad comes home last night from another trip. And he brings this big box in, and there it was! A really nice Blue EG. His friend who has a lot of Guitars had an extra and somehow knew I wanted one, so he gave it. I need a Amp, and a few other things though. Dang, I forgot how much prayer helps till now, big or small, stupid or important.
  23. There's this mall that's being built near where I live and it opens in October. Their having this "Job Fair" where you can pick up pamphlets, application forms, etc. and choose where you want to work at the mall. I was going to apply to work in Sharper Image and when they saw me, the seemed excited that I was going to apply. (My mom said it was my look. ) Unfortunately, the manager said they were looking for someone 18 or older. I'm 16. I might make sure if I actually can't apply tomorrow. the application form doesn't say you have to be 18. Hopefully they'll change their mind. After that, I came up to a Starbucks booth, and the guy there seemed excited to meet me too. Apparently have this techno guy coffee house thing going on. So I got an application form for that too. Even though I hate coffee, I'm still considering it. I also got an application form for the Malco theater that'll be there, but I'm not as excited about that. The guy behind the counter (most likely the manager) seemed... inexplicably strange. But I still think it'll be fun to work at a theater. Free movies! (possibly) Well, I'll see what happens. Tomorrow's the last day of the "Fair," so, that's when I need to turn in the forms. I really want to work at Sharper Image! ,4^
  24. I have returned! ... Actually, I've been back since yesterday at approximately four in the afternoon, but I didn't feel like blogging then. Overall it was an okay weekend (encompassing Thursday and Friday) ... We stayed at a bed-and-breakfast next to a lake, which was a really cool place – there was forest all around the lake, and we had a pier and boat we could use. We didn't use the latter much; the only people who did were Sonya and Josh when they went out to play cards in the middle of the lake. Of the bed and breakfast, I only liked the breakfast. The room we had was damp, the beds creaked more than I thought was possible, and they weren't comfortable anyway. The breakfast was great, though. I had muffins of both English and normal variety with strawberries and milk. Yum. So, the itinerary as promised. :: Thursday :: We got there somewhere late in the afternoon to find my mom's friends Pam and Adam, their daughter Sonya, and her friend Josh already there. Sonya says that she remembers me and that she and Pam visited us when she was eight or something, which would have made me three. Which would be why I don't remember her. Aside from my dad, the seven of us have exactly the same sense of humor, which meant that there was more or less a laugh per minute. We discovered that the boat included an old coffee can for bailing out when we went down to it, which was useful because the bottom was full of rainwater. The evening's entertainment was different for each half of us – Sonya, Josh, and Adam saw The Night of the Iguana; Pam, my mom, and I went to Jacob's Pillow Dance to watch two pieces by the Shen Wei Dance Arts group. They were awesome. But hard to describe. The first one was a series of "Maps", as they were called, each of which centered on a different movement, like rotation or bouncing. It's something you have to actually watch to understand properly ... The second had only four dancers on a mandala made of flecks of paper, which they danced across to the singing of a Tibetan nun. It was also great, though very different ... :: Friday :: A great day, despite the fact that I barely got any sleep the previous night. (The fault of those dreadful beds.) We went to a crafts fair in the morning, which was interesting but not riveting. I got a pair of tall blue candles that piqued my interest. After a late picnic lunch, we went to see Shakespeare's The Merry Wives of Windsor. It was hilarious. With a Shakespeare comedy, you can only get so much humor out of reading the script, if you can find any. Text-wise, Shakespeare's comedies (that I've read, at least) differ from tragedies mostly in that nobody dies and there's a happy ending. I haven't actually read The Merry Wives of Windsor, but this production was utterly hilarious. And my mom's watched videos of performances of it (she taught a course on music in Shakespeare last year), but none of them compared to this one. Mistress Page and Mistress Ford kept pulling scripts out of their boddesses and dresses and reading loudly off of them as Falstaff hid in the closet; the two of them communicated by wild hand signs behind his back; Mistress Ford looked appropriately hysterical and distressed (and screamed loudly) throughout the play; Mistress Ford rammed the laundry basket handle into Falstaff's stomach and then scampered to the other side of the stage saying "Oopsie!"; Ford (disguised as Brook) twitched as Falstaff ranted about him; Ford and his companions frequently appeared all over the set while chasing Falstaff ... And then when Ford emptied the laundry basket the second time, he tossed the laundry into the audience. And when Falstaff was hiding from Ford and company (disguised as the old woman), he took the place of a woman in the front row and had her sit in his lap. I know I'm repeating myself, but it — was — hilarious. The acting company was brilliant. That evening, we went to Tanglewood (and dined on the lawn ... meaning that we sat on it, not ate it), where we heard Bach's Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D and his Violin Concerto No. 2 in E, three arias from Handel's Ariodante, and Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks. It was really cold by the time it was done, though ... After which there were fireworks. Awesome fireworks. Probably the best I've seen, but also probably the first I've really seen up close, which may have something to do with it. Pam, Josh, and Sonya were in the car because they were cold, and they said that the noise set off a lot of car alarms ... They were really loud. :: Saturday :: We spent most of the day at the Hancock Shaker Village, which wasn't that interesting for me ... So you'll pardon me if I don't go into details. Later, however, we went to a French restaurant (aptly named Rouge), which was excellent. Actually, we were at an outdoor table in the back, but in the front street (and nearby streets), they were having a Zucchini Festival. Why is beyond me. You would have to ask them. This included band performances (though I heard no references to zucchini in the lyrics), which disrupted our dinner until the explosion. Maybe bang is a better word for it. Either way, none of us (nor the waitress whom we asked) had the faintest idea what it was, but it did stop the music for a little. But, as there was only one scream, no sirens, and a general lack of people fleeing in the opposite direction, we assumed it was nothing significant. The dinner itself was excellent. A lot of our party had duck, which tasted great but was very rich (I had some, of course), though I had chicken myself. Which was excellent. I had something labelled Gateau Chocolat for dessert, which didn't resemble a gateau au chocolat in the slightest beyond taste. But it was chocolate and also great (which is sort of redundant), so who cares? That evening we went to see a new play, a political satire ... which I didn't like. I'm not really one for political stuff, so it wasn't exactly something I was clamoring to see, and it would have made the BZP rules faint anyway ... :: Sunday :: ... was mostly spent returning here. Very little to be said, really. I was so happy to be back in a nice, non-damp house. And my own bed. I slept very well last night. *hugs his pillow* In other news, expect a new chapter of The Roodaka Affair soon. I've finally finished Chapter 4, but I want to revise the ending somewhat. Whee! – ToM
  25. My brakes seemed to have failed on me for this moment, cuz my car slammed right into some chick's car. -Omi
