Sergei Rahkmaninoff posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsFlickr Legend describes the agent of fate's punishment for arrogance, whose power is derived from her opponents' pride... This one started with the name, unusually enough for me (an alias for Nemesis, ancient Greek goddess of punishment for hubris.) Somehow that inspired me and this came out. But anyways, I'd love to hear your C&C, and hope you enjoy!
TERIDAX941 posted a topic in Bionicle DiscussionThe title says it all. What are your favorite BIONICLE Chronicle/Adventure/Legend books? It can be in terms of author preference, how the story was presented, the characters introduced and how well they were represented, or just the story being told in general. I'd like to hear all your opinions on what books you enjoyed, and what made them so good. You can also mention the Bara Magna books if you want, I don't think they had an official series title. Mine would be 1. Island of Doom (it really did a good job of setting the stage of the stakes with the reveal of Mata Nui dying, the return of the Nuva, and the introduction of the Piraka, who were amazing villains in their own right. It was a great story overall) 2. Raid of Vulcanus (It was a great book that helped delve a little deeper into the Bara Magna society and let you get to know the different characters. Plus it was a very nice prologue to the Legend Reborn which helped me enjoy that story better without being just thrown into the middle of things.) and 3. Time Trap (Who didn't like this book honestly? It was the time when the Makuta was at his finest, along with Vakama and the Shadowed One... the story kept you on your toes, and gave us lots of character development on all fronts) But that's just me, what do you guys think?
cjr205 posted a topic in Bionicle Storyline & TheoriesHave you ever noticed that in all the books and serials, Tuma is a smart and cunning leader, who clearly has a great deal of intelligence? But in The Legend Reborn, he is portrayed as a brutish warlord with absolutely no brains at all. WHAAAAAATTTT!
Ackar: The Fiery Legend - Ackar Revamp
joev14 posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsWhew. Well. It's been quite a long time now, hasn't it? But hey! You guys are used to waiting, right? *Joev awkwardly laughs as everyone just stares* But seriously. You may recognize me for my previous Rahi revamps, from way back in January/February. As some of you may recall, I mentioned having seven MOCs build and ready to post (I only posted three back in February). And that was very true. However, when I went to take the pictures and found that my camera was in fact, broken. Yay... Well, now that I've gotten it fixed, I am once again able to show you guys these MOCs! So, here's my next set of revamps, the four main Glatorian from 2009! First up, is Ackar: The Fiery Legend Front (I accidentally overwrote the enlarged version of this one without making a backup >_<) Back Comparison Action Pose Since I've made you guys wait so long, I'll be posting Gresh this weekend, followed by Kiina sometime this next week. Lastly, I'll finish off with the prize of the collection, Mata Nui, sometime next weekend. Stick around and enjoy, I promise you won't be disappointed!
Sergei Rahkmaninoff posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsGallery Legends speak of the primeval crab-legged warrior Koeras, a hero from the time before time. It is said that in the anarchic, primordial era before the rise of the Mask Makers, his name was already revered. For with his Icicle Axe and Chillsaw Shield, he channeled the untamed power of the winter blizzard, vanquishing many a fearsome fiend. Some say that he was admired by even Ekimu, that the smith drew inspiration for the shape of his Protector masks from the form of Koeras' ornate helmet. But the pandemonium of the ancient era in which he thrived could not last, for in time the Mask Makers rose and tamed the chaos, ushering in an age of peace with no place for such a warrior. Left without purpose, some say he sailed in search of distant wars. Others say he eventually died of old age, or that bereft of meaning he committed suicide. I alone know the truth, or so I claim - with a great enchantment, he froze himself in the heart of the Region of Ice's greatest glacier, to sleep in frozen peace until a time of chaos called for an icy warrior once more. Then Koeras shall awaken, intent upon waging a great war for justice once more. Let us hope he is not angry that he must share the role... * * * After building so many Rahkshi, I wanted to experiment with a drastically different shape. Koeras, with the six-legged centaur thing going on, was the first thing I came up with. One part of his build I'm particularly proud of is his helmet - Gelu's on a modern G2 head. It required quite a bit of finagling and some technically illegal connections to make it work but I'm glad it did, since the blue Glatorian heads aren't the right shade and I feel like using the new head really helps him to fit into the lore of Okoto rather than Bara Magna.
Before I get started on the legend-y stuff, I'd like to give a word about this creation. I recently acquired the Protector of Earth and the Protector of Water. This creation is built exclusively with pieces from those two sets. If anyone asks, and I am in the mood, I may post instructions for this built. I only left out a skull spider mask, a few red pins, a couple small black ones, and a brain. All other pieces have been used. I'm really quite happy with how this guy turned. So much so that I invented a legend behind him. Long ago, in the Time before Time on the mythical island of Okoto, legend speaks of the Guardians. Eons before the two mask makers, Ekimu and Makuta, set forth on the island to bring the three virtues, the island lay in chaos. Strange creatures bearing elemental powers tormented the defenseless villagers. To defend themselves, the wisest of the six tribes chanted a potent spell, engineering a combination between villager and beast. These new half-breeds they called the Guardians, for the Order of Protectors had not yet been formed. A hundred of these beings were formed, and their elemental power and brute force drove the creatures into hiding beneath the earth and in the deepest forests. The villagers rejoiced, thinking they were safe. They celebrated too soon. The Guardians, programmed to defend could not acknowledge a time of peace. Thus, they enlisted the wisest villagers to engineer weapons of mass destruction from the island's elemental forces. With these, the Guardians began to lord it over the villagers they once defended. They built a great fortress at the center of the Okoto, from which they ruled the island. The enslaved villagers cried out under the whips of the Guardians. From across the sea, their call was answered. The two brothers, Ekimu and Makuta came bearing the great masks of Creation and Control, from which they forged the elemental masks. The villagers, equipped with their new powers, overturned the citadel of the Guardians, burying them deep beneath the rubble. Above the ruins, the Mask Maker's built their own metropolis above the fortress, from which they forged the Great Masks. From the six wisest villagers, they formed the Order of Protectors, to whom they entrusted six masks of special power. “When times are dark,” they said, “Gather at the Temple of Time to call forth six heros from the stars. Until then, hide these masks far away where no one could ever find them.” The Protectors returned to their home regions and did as they had been instructed. What they did not count on, however, was that something would be coming to look for them I hope you all enjoyed that. Those of you who were able to watch the 9th episode will see where I was going with this. I really like what I did with the feet. Thanks to Nescent and his awesome use of Protector masks in his Wildlife of Okoto thread inspired me. Check it out here: http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/17041-wildlife-of-okoto/ I plan on making some more of these combiners as I acquire the rest of the Protectors. In the meantime, stay cool.
Invisible Legend: Proto Release
Toatapio Nuva posted a topic in Fan Created MediaInvisible Legend returns, with its newest version: The Proto Release! It's an improved version of the old classic game. The interface is still the old one, which hopefully adds some nostalgic feeling. What has changed since the game was introduced long ago? Well, some graphics have been changed for the better (like the awful Toa Ilma battle graphics). There is new music, new story bits, improved monsters and side-quests, a completely new Kanohi mask system and more. DOWNLOAD (Dropbox) The Story Bio-Land (called Southern Continent by non-natives) is a beautiful island with many Matoran living on it. However, an upcoming crisis calls for six Matoran to be transformed into Toa. No one is sure how it happens, but these Matoran are suddenly transformed against their will... but they remain separate, each transforming in his or her home region. The Toa of Fire, Biokau, is given a mission to find his teammates and assemble the Toa team to battle the darkness that is on its way. Time is against the heroes, though, and many secrets lurk on the island. The Toa will soon find out that there is no one left they can truly trust. Screenshots Please note that all screenshots are from older versions and are in some cases completely outdated. Biokau about to use his elemental powers On a path Meeting Maa The Toa fighting hypnotized Matoran Please, feel free to play the game, enjoy, and tell me what you think of it. Don't hesitate to give me any kind of criticism and ideas for further improvement.
Ackar: The Legend
joev14 posted a topic in Bionicle-Based CreationsSo, I whipped this model up about two months ago, and have slowly been adding things to it over time, and I now feel as though it's ready to be displayed. Wudda y'all think? Front Back Close Up of Head Hopefully I'll have some better photos up in a while, my camera battery is dying. The back-view shot turned out pretty well though.
Legend of the Mask
Crunchyn posted a topic in General ArtI got this idea while brainstorming for the BZP 2013 Brickfair T-shirt Contest. Printing it on a shirt would be too complicated and while it didn't really work as a black and white image, using color worked really well and I liked it so much that I created a Legend of the Ignika as well which might be an improvement as I figured out how to turn off the hyphenation. I wrote the legends myself based on references from the movies and what I can find on BS01 and it is written vertically (more recent ones were written sideways as suggested). The Legend of Time and Life
Kanakalackin posted a topic in Short StoriesHi guys, I've been toying around with this for a while now and I finished it! __________________________________________________________________________ Before there was time, there were the Great Beings. They created many worlds, masks, and creatures to inhabit the universe, but there was something missing. They needed someone to watch over these new creations, someone to protect them, someone to love them, and someone for the creations to look up to. Thus they created two rulers. A Toa of Time, Temporus. As well as a younger Toa of Life, Vitarus. They wore no Kanohi, but possessed full control over the gates of time, as well as the key of life. But peace cannot exist without chaos. An ever-present evil, slumbering in the void for eons, had awakened. It possessed no physical form, but existed in shadow. The shadow only existed to kill, deceive, and devour everything in its path. The two Toa fought valiantly against it, but they grew weaker every time they battled. In a final stand against the shadow, Temporus sealed the shadow behind the gates of time, and Vitarus locked it with the key of life. Thus there was peace amongst all of creation. But as mentioned before, peace cannot exist without chaos. Eventually Temporus, once a proud and noble protector, fell to selfish desires. He abused the great creation for his own gain, but he always wanted more. Keeping the shadow locked away in his element was not a wise choice, it made him stronger, yes. But it also corrupted him. Thus Temporus succumbed to the evil that was dwelling inside of him. Vitarus confronted him about it, demanding that he stop what he was doing. But Temporus had fallen too far; he struck down his younger brother and fled to the Far East. Vitarus could not allow his brother to continue his evil deeds. Brother or not, Vitarus had no choice but to kill Temporus. Vitarus walked throughout all of creation one last time. Once it was a beautiful place, but now creation lived in fear of destruction. Vitarus followed his brother’s well concealed trail to the void, the infinite emptiness where the shadow used to dwell. Vitarus called out to his brother one last time, demanding him to stop what he was doing. But the brother that Vitarus loved was no longer there. Now he was possessed by emptiness, shadow, and fear, the three elements that the both of them had battled for so long to purge from the beautiful creation. Seeing that he had no choice, Vitarus made the first strike, he cleaved off Temporus’ left arm. But Temporus paid no mind. Vitarus was releasing the shadow which longed to feast on the lives of others. Every time that Vitarus wounded Temporus, a shadow limb grew in its place. Vitarus had realized what he had done and immediately stopped. The shadow didn’t. It destroyed the last of Temporus’ body and materialized into a body of darkness. The shadow struck at Vitarus and nearly killed him. The shadow then gave Vitarus one chance to join him, but Vitarus believed in the same words that he had learned from the first day of life. Unity, duty, and destiny. Temporus then had an idea, “I stand united with my people!” He declared. The shadow withdrew, clearly weakened by the word. “My duty is to protect my people!” He said. The shadow responded by staggering back and howling in pain. “My destiny is to bring life, where there once was death!” He finished. The shadow was severely weakened by Vitarus’ brief speech. But it was persistent to have his way. The shadow and Vitarus battled fiercely with each other, both gaining a foothold in victory, and losing it abruptly. Mortally wounded by a cut going from his right eye across his chest, Vitarus released his remaining power and shut the shadow away in the void forever, sealing it with the symbol of unity, duty, and destiny. Vitarus perished that day, but the Great Beings immortalized him and his fallen brother in legends and masks. The legends were forgotten and the masks were lost. But one day, the mask of Time and the mask of Life would be found. And both of the Toa would live once again. _______________________________________________________________ Thanks for reading!
The Legend Of Zelda
Blessed Blade posted a topic in Completely Off TopicWelcome back to the Legend of Zelda topic, where you can discuss any of the games that are currently out, or even the unreleased games that have yet to be made, by speculating about what they could be.You could also talk about the stuff outside the games, like the different Manga series, or even, if you really wish to, the cartoon, or... No. Nobody should discuss the CDi games; they should just be forgotten. =POf course, there's also the Hyrule Historia, which, you know, revealed the entire timeline(Link to an image of timeline pending)...Overall, this is the place to discuss the Legend of Zelda series in general!
